Best/worse/what did I learn today?come come sit & chat
Condolences, Kelli and hugs....over 20 years since my Mom passed and it still makes me sad, but i try to pull up a happy time with her and it helps.
The Swaggart Complex was more like a tribute to Swaggart than to God.....and his wife was a real number....spent $100,00 on a fence and decided she didn't like it, so had it torn down and replaced...just as costly....then smile and say "give from the bottom of your heart"....very reminiscent of Jim and Tammy Faye Baker....
Kelli, sending you big ((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))) too!
I do remember when walking in main structure, there was a staircase done in gold..at the time..what amazed me is they had books out and each day a page flipped, think it was for who donated $25K, 50K, 100K and over
There was a humungous tent out the side where meetings were being held..
Just amazed me
When I saw that building complex, all I could think of was Idols and Money Changers in the temple.....that gold staircase would have fed a lot of hungry people.....
Thanks for the hugs and concern. Hugs back to you all.
Kelli is it sunshine in your neck of the woods?
Exactly my thoughts..
Long day here, been cutting out quilt squares and with each one I think of how wonderful it would be to be home so I could get things ready for Joyce and the girls.
Debbie, still waiting for that update

Pretty sad that some fall into things like that! All in the name of God?
Yes, the sun is shining.
helps one get throught the day when you have sunshine..
now tell me you gardners, do you cut your flowers and make inside bouquets??
never seem to do it except for lilacs..Jean how about you, roses sitting in a vase?
am hoping to make a quilt with leftover yellow/blue fabric, always say that then end up having to buy more, hopefully NOT this time. Here I sit making squares lol another busy day at the office...and while I sew the kitties has different idea of how to spend their day..lol
Saturday, had my cousin/SIL come to start her 1st quilt, then Greg came, wanted us to see a u-tube video
Seeing as there was no to do work being done Greg brought me a planter
last photo, my busy day in the office

Yes, Betty. While I think they are lovely in the garden, cutting flowers for the house is a regular thing. Large vases with gladiolas and irises, small vases with cheery coreopsis and varying sized ones with roses and leatherleaf fern of vegetable ferns. I cut branches of mock orange, witch hazel, duranta and forsythia and also an orchid or two. I also love tiny vases of dianthus.
thanks Jean..
Debbie (and all who like Elvis) go to u-tube and type in Andy Kauffman on Johnny Carson show..first few minutes aren't great but I'm sure you'll appreciate and will have a smile..
then Andy Kauffman on Johnny Cash show
Well then I had best do cutting this summer but first I have to plant things that i can cut!!!
I typically don't cut flowers and bring them indoors.
Andy Kauffman was amazing....but a fire that burned too bright....such a loss.
Yeah...that is kinda a requirement for cutting them...GRIN
the ants Jean have really done a number on my mock orange..don't think they've touched the miniature yet, did buy spray and sprayed them but it's rained every day since so not sure if it will work.
Kelli, what do you grow in your gardens?
We have that problem with fire ants...they make nests around the base of plants and destroy the root hairs and leave air pockets around roots, eventually killing the plant. Here it is a weekly ritual to go on ant patrol.
these ants feed on the leaves, should have gone out to look this morning, guess it wouldn't hurt to go pick up more spray seeing as it won't rain till Monday. Also have ant hills and I sprayed them as well but shortly after destroying that ant hill another comes up.
Betty, I don't bring flowers in the house, allergies are too bad for that, so I enjoy them outside!
Is this the video you were talking about? Pretty good!
forgot about some having allergies..
it's twofold Lindakay, one to entertain and one to keep trying to entice Debbie to come over for the Elvis Festival..lol
Betty, what update are you waiting for from me? I put an update first thing this morning about doctors findings and the trip.
I have been going through boxes this morning of pictures. Jeanna wants pictures of her and Zack and some other things.
Also started "un-doing" damage child did while we were gone. Lets just say "Mama ain't happy" and it has hit the fan.
It has warmed up outside, but the wind is picking up again.
Kelli, big hugs. Lost my Mom almost 5 years ago....seems like just this year. She was my best friend and only real family
beside my children.
well I best go up looking, how did I miss it Debbie, been waiting all day???
I know better than to make you wait all day for that update...I would be in big trouble with scolding. It is right after LindaKays morning post.
Debbie, we posted within a minute of each other, just prior to my leaving for work, guess when I went back on saw my last post but not yours..sorry, sorry, sorry is all I can say! You must be beside yourself with these answers..getting them gives you some comfort knowing exactly what the problem is but the answers just take the heart right out of you. Here's hoping pain management and drugs help ease the pain.
Can imagine how you must be feeling with the loss of Zach..going to read the newspaper as soon as I finish posting here.
When is the funeral Debbie..will you be able to attend?
I can just see Paul's face while you laughed..tell him he isn't as good a sport as you and I, at leased we both laughed so hard we almost or did we 'pee our pants'..lol
sending you hugs..
off to read the obit
Debbie, what a loss to family and friends and to both his communities. Who knows, maybe he was making great strides in keeping the youngsters out of trouble and involved..some don't take kindly to that!
So overwhelming for you, there are just no words..
And yes, I'd have been hopping the next shuttle bus to your neighborhood to find out what was happening..you know me, all the patience in the world.
Did I hear someone say something?
From what I heard, they brought Zack back home yesterday. I haven't heard anything on the funeral. Yes, will be going most definitely.
My nephew Matthew already asked me to go with him.....and I know Jeanna will want to go if she can get off work. It has hit her so hard.
Zack started in high school teaching younger kids to "board"...including my son. There is a young man in town, Paulie, he had such a hard hard
life....and Zack took him under his wing in school. He wrote such a loving tribute to him, how Zack basically saved his life.
(((((((kelli))))))) hugs for you, on such a sad day.... anniversaries are difficult, at best....
I don't cut my flowers down - have few enough as it is lol
btw - my "other" plant of tulips has bloomed! One bloom and one "almost bloom" lol
yes, they are yellow, same as the previous ones. So cheery looking!
(((((((((Debbie))))))))) SO sorry to hear about the loss of Zach..... what a wonderful human being!
Betty, for flowers I have roses, irises, amaryllis, bougainvillea, lantana, daylillies, various kinds of cactus, and a few odds and ends that I have probably forgotten to mention. Oh, yes, in the spring I have freesias, narcissus, wisteria, jasmine, and sparaxis.
whew......... taking a deep breath...
I now have 2 jobs I'm interviewing for, at the U of Calgary! One is tomorrow at 2:30, and other is Tues at 9:15..... and tomorrow's doesn't want to wait until Tues to see me, cuz this job's on the "fast track"!
after tomorrow's, then it's to speak to Associate VP and if that goes well, then the team I would report to...... yikes, did I say TEAM as in....... a team interview?!?!
Still waiting for the Other interview that is supposed to call, but she says she has to hear back some details from the Hiring Manager first and will let me know.
Add to that, the interview I had yesterday that needs to wait until the co-owner gets back from vacation as of next week....... before he can screen the results from first interview.....
I'm feeling popular lol
Wishing you lots of luck on the interviews Susan!
Yes, Susan, best of luck to you.

Hi everyone!!! Sorry to hear some are in pain and some feeling bad.I hope tomorrow will be a better day for y'all.Linda Kay i hope you feel better soon.Betty and Jean i hope your day went well. Jean, do you watch that show Swamp People? My son loves watching that show. Well i hope everyone has a goodnight!!!
I did respond to your last post Debbie but when I went to retread the column about Zach, cyber space it went..I'm sure family will let you know when the funeral will be..glad you have someone to go with.
Susan, fantastic news, maybe tomorrow will be your last day of being a lady of leisure.
Kelli, nice variety..I have one little branch of wisteria, just won't grow! For some reason lantana rings a bell, wonder if I have some in my garden??
LindaKay, feeling better tonight..
Marion, how's the battle going, did your yard help ever come?
Lordy, Lordy what and evening I've had..
Decided to do my groceries on my way home, ah/ha, ahead of the game! Save me doing it tomorrow as I'll be anxious to get home, Joyce will either have arrived or will arrive later in the evening..1 more sleep.
Young Noah was waiting for me, said he forgot last week that he was suppose to come and the days he remembere it was too late..best $20 I ever spent, did he do a good job edging or what, his grandparents are well know landscapers so he gets it honestly.
Put my groceries away, thought maybe I could get at a few spots I missed the other day as it started to rain and/or black flies were so bad..
Uncovered the rider, drats no key, spent an hour looking for it, no could find! Looked in jackets, pants, lawn furniture, she'd, rocks. Lol. Grrr
Called Greg, he loves these calls, what are sons for?? Said he was bringing me a bigger tv for my craft room, really?? Don't need a bigger one but guess he didn't want to put it in the garbage..might put it out Saturday as they are having a treasure hunt, anything one doesn't want they can put at the roadside but if nobody takes it you have to have it away from the roadside by 5pm.
He checked out his 50 keys and one started it, loaned it to me, he and Melanie bought a bed for Kyle's room, Noah's is completely redone, so they were on their way to Barrie to pick it up, said I'm careless with things so will drop in to pick it up tonight..told me to run into the lawnmower store and they would give me another..
Off they went,
Happy as can be I get to cut grass, the most favorite thing of all, cut for no more than 5 minutes ran out of gas...drats and more drats..had about an inch in container so got it back to the back yard..know the weeder has gas, went to get it, first time use this year..shaking my head, last year I took the spool off and couldn't put it back together, there it sat so couldn't weed.
Noah was just about ready to leave when I notice the large water feature spray unit was struggling, the leaves opened on the tree above had its castings fall in the holes of the feature and only half of them working..by now Noah's friend came to see him so I asked would they mind staying so I could try and clean the unit, tried with a broom being about 1' in the pond, no go so in I went 3 1/2 ft in, cold cold water, froze my, well you now, got it working..in to wash swamp clothes , now it's hot bath time..had a million things I wanted to do but forget it..company will have to take house as it is.
Thanks Betty "lady of leisure" eh? lol
and you're careless with things? Did I read that right?
Betty, you had one busy night!
I am feeling much better, thanks!
That's good LindaKay..just keep taking it easy until you are 100% well.
I have to agree with him somewhat Susan, I'm absent minded or have too many things going on at once.
He just left, came for his key, brought a t.v. Wall mount and a larger tv for my craft room..told him I didn't need it but apparently I did..took him about 20 minutes now he is off.
Yep, busy night so now I'm finishing my coffee while waiting for the washer to finish so I can put it in the dryer then bed for me..
Betty, I hope that is decaf coffee this late at night!
Give Joyce a big hug for me tomorrow please, she is such a sweetheart.
