hoo boy..... I'm all jittery.....
Another dept at the U of Calgary just called to have me come in for an interview TOMORROW..... this is in addition to the Faculty of Medicine interviewing me on Tues. Yikes!!
suddenly I'm popular......?!?!
Sweet Interruptions # 258
good for you susan, you will be working 2 jobs. lol
Good luck Susan, you can do it!
I sure one of the 4 pan out.......... If for nothing else, I'll feel like I'm contributing to the household finances.....
Keeping your hopes alive, that's what God is doing for you, Susan.
He always throws some lightning bugs along our dark paths. Do hope one of those lightning bugs turned out to be a steady beacon.
Good morning sistahs. Sue Taynor, we miss you gal. If you're one going to Betty's along with Cookie, you'd need this break.
I've to leave now, got Himalaya to scale. Hope I won't fall ... :D
Morning everyone! Jaye, don't get to close to that cliff!!!
Doctors sure want to keep you coming back. Got a letter telling me to make an appointment with my primary doctor to be make sure I'm "healthy": First time they had to "beg" me to come in for a routine check up. Too busy with all DH's doctor appointments, etc. and I feel fine except I sure could use some energy. Guess I should make an appointment to make sure my heart and brain is working right.
Going to be a nice day, I hope, so better get out and do some garden work. Right now I should be out there as it is still nice and cool.
getting ready for kaden. he's coming today to spend 5 days with me. got his apples and bananas, now have to make a jello cake for him.
Enjoy your visit with Kaden Kathy! How are you feeling?
well, getting ready for this afternoon's interview, so will let y'all know later how it turns out.
Tomorrow, after my morning interview, I go to my Dr to find out results of the MRI.
Then tomorrow night is Movie Night.
Kathy - is that you in the picture? You DO look tired. Take care of yourself, please!!
Well, I'm back from my interview at the University - it went Fantabulously!!
answered all their questions with stellar answers, and afterwards when I asked them what, about my qualifications, they found was a "fit" with the position, one of the ladies said "Your resume pretty well 'ticked off' all our requirements and then some!'. She said they will be calling Tues or Wed with the Next Step, but they also know I'm interviewing on Tues, so said "if they offer you the position on the spot, please let us know" then she said "I don't want to prejudice you against the other job, but if you want an 'employment home' then this other one is a "floater" position, and I don't think you'd like it".
hmmmm is she already fighting over me? lol btw - they don't call it HR anymore - it's "Talent Acquisition". I guess HR is payroll and such, whereas these people are doing hiring/firing...
Susan, I think that is her Grandson? Looks like he does not want his picture taken?
Thunder posted in Betty's thread that her Granddaughter was delivered this afternoon by C section! She is so tickled. Go look at the pictures!
oh geeze - didn't open the picture....... my brain is still at my job interview!! lol
that is kaden, and yes he didn't want his picture taken. he rolls his eyes at me just like his papaw
Thunder she is just so precious! Is that a silver bracelet on her little arm? And big Sister looks like she is very proud of her!
What a beautiful picture Thunder!!! Both of them are just gorgeous. I too am curious about her bracelet.....
Good morning sistahs!
What pretty pictures Thunder. Grandma to two girls now! Malena will fit in her new role very well. She's gonna be very overprotective of Ryleigh.
21 inches.. don't know anything about babies' heights, but is that on the tall side?
Thank you so much for sharing your new joy with us.
Lol LK! I shan't fall over the cliff unless pushed!
Love that Susan! Both should fight over you, they know quality!
jaye, why are you jumping off the cliff? things can't be that bad
what adorable little girls, Grandma Thunder!
LK - Thank you for posting those beautiful caladiums! I love purple in the garden
Jaye - what Himalayan cliff are you going to scale????
Sis Kathy, it's already frustrating to do EVERYTHING in lesser time due to my mobility. But it's getting worse now, when you add Kel's inability to help me.
Used to be able to go out of town, at least for a maximum of 4 hours, if he's not working. But now, it's thinned down to 1 and a half hour. Instead of planning a day in the nearest town for grocery, pet food shopping and the extras.. we practically have to race to town everyday. Well.. you got the picture.
I've been using the electric hedge trimmer to 'mow' down tall grasses and dandelions. Don't want to be surprised by some hiding snakes.
I'm hitting outside everyday, for what I want the garden to look like. But I make sure there are chairs stationed everywhere so I can take breaks when my legs start screaming!
I have a pushmower, which is too heavy for me to use and a riding lawnmower that needs Kel's attention.
The one help I used to have is on the warpath with MIL and to hire him will cause more friction between Kel and MIL. Oh yes.. difficult not to miss anything as she sees our place very clearly from her house.
One day, this too shall pass.. but as long as MIL is alive.. I'll be hitting the Himalayas.
Betty, I forgot to tell you that Cookie gives great hugs!!! I miss them!
LK, that's coming out purple on my page. Lovely lily. Smart of you to use the wire mesh for the caladiums. Are squirrels or rabbits bad in your area?
Cross posted Susan. Say a prayer for me please sistahs.
can't guarantee next to hit the floor will be my glassware.
Praying for you as hard as I can, dear Jaye!!
Well, gotta go get ready for my interview this am!
that silver is a ring on my thumb, I was holding the blanket away from her face.
21 inches is kinda tall...that is what her dad was, my other boys were a little shorter...butttttt all quite tall now !!! my middle man is the tallest, and my baby who weighed the least is much bigger in stature than the other two. Kyle was a chubby chunk until he was about 4, now he is a bean pole..tallest, and skinniest. funny how that ended up!!
odd feeling today, rushing to get house cleaned up and laundry done while the kiddo is in school !!! been a long time since I have had this experience!!!
hope Y'all are having a great day ^_^ I am on cloud ..... 29....yup much higher than 9 LOL
pray for you every day jaye. please don't jump; wish I lived closer so I could help you
.....careful with the glasses Jaye....sending prayers and hugs big time.
Thunder, those girls are beautiful!! I can see you jumping around on all those clouds.
Jaye, prayers for you, no jumping off cliffs, YOU hear ME!!! No more throwing things around, it gets expensive to replace them. I never was a thrower, screamer, but a crier. I've shed enough tears through the years that I'm thinking I ran out.
Last evening I coughed and sneezed and nose running. Cough drops helped a little. I feel fine this AM, thinking it may have been putting amendment in my garden soil. Guess I should cover up my face & mouth when I work with it again. You know what happens when you cough too much, bladder lets lose and you end up changing your clothes.
Many hugs to all, and I hope you get that permanent job Susan, you surely deserve it after all the interviews you've had to go through.
Jaye, step back and take a deep breath, have a glass of your favorite cold beverage.
The chicken wire is because of Luna, she kept digging up the tuber, and playing ball with them. Since I cut the wire, and laid it over the dirt, she has not touched it!
Just got back from the Drs - I have osteoarthritis in my left knee, and a tear in the meniscus.
The osteo got worse when I fell in Apr 2011, but it was there before. He's referring me to a specialist, and as I'm willing to travel just outside of Calgary, it will be quicker.
Good interview this am - they offered me a job, starting next Thurs, but told them I would have to get back to her, because I had an interview yesterday and another one to come on Tues.
Also (altho I didn't say this to her), they don 't pay benefits, and it's "casual" but permanent. It saves the co $$ if they don't hire permanently, but they don't let anyone "go" either.
Originally they were hiring for an office assistant to the private assistant to the owner, but said that they wouldn't put me in that position. Reason being - I'm better than the current one cuz she's task-oriented only and can't see the bigger picture around her. She's good at what she does, but I can do both, and if I were to work under her that would stifle my abilities because she wouldn't have me do anything more than "tasks"
I've told her that I would be getting back to her on Tues pm or Wed at the latest. She gave me her cell # so I could call her on Sat or Monday (yes, she knows it's a long w/e...). She really wants me there, but without benefits, and contract?! oh it's M-F, 10am to 6pm and that's not a problem. It's only 1/2 drive from home, and that's good.
Well, at least you have a job waiting if the others don't work out, but let's pray you can be full time with benefits?
good news about my knee is....... my cartilage is just fine, according to my Dr after reviewing the MRI. Previously, a chiropractor said I had very little cartilage in it... yaaaaaaaaaaaay for good news!!
Good morning sistahs.
Please don't worry.. I won't jump off any cliffs! When too frustrated, I'll just hurl something. Cheaper to replace what's broken than having Kel pay for my funeral! Lol!!
With ex during the 25 years of marriage, I tested my aim only once.
But considering what I had thrown, that first practice was much more expensive than the 3 times I did on this floor!
The tasks at hand I have to do by myself, must be what those Himalaya climbers are feeling.
Lol.. I hear you loud and clear Pegi!
I feel the same too Sis Kathy. Wish we're all living within driving distance to give each other the help and comfort when needed.
Good idea there, LK. When you're out of the mesh, sprinkle pepper on your plants. I know that works for me.
Great news indeed about your knees Susan. Some arthritic pills will ease the pain.
May the right job snare you, Susan.
Thunder, I feel you sistah! I'd be cloud 1,009 if that's me holding a grandaby or even a child.
Talked to another BFF last night who's in Indiana. She's a new grandma now, and she made me cry when she told me that her son wanted me to be the honorary grandma.
When I had a hysterectomy at 25, Susie offered to carry a child for me. I will never forget that.
So Thunder and ALL mothers and grandmothers, think of me when you hold that child.
This is my number one niece Dewi. She's all woman now at 22.
Good for you Sue, we all need an edumaction!!! :-) Wishing all the luck and would offer to help but ......not very smart at this house. :-(
Jaye, just remember there is some pieces that do NOT get thrown.......re: telephone conversation a few days ago. That would cause my heart great distress!!!!! I have a box of unused dishes, glasses, etc. if you need more breakable materials. Just let me know. LOL
We are still down with a: summer cold; b: sinus infection or c: just can't help its! Kim is worse as she got a virus from a student she had been working after school with and is still miserable. The mother contacted the school and Kim about the girl being sick and that she was contagious. Just hope I don't get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She only has 7 actually days of school left and to now be sick. Not good!
Have a wonderful day all.
BTW, saw the picture of your niece on FB,Jaye. Beautiful young lady indeed.
Jaye, Dewi is beautiful. What an honor it is to be honorary Grandmother, I would have cried too!
Hey Sue, glad to see you pop in! Congrats on going back to school!
There are a couple of swaps open if anyone is interested? Come and check them out!

Proud of you Sue. I'm still edumucating myself constantly! Thank God for Google and Wiki! Been missing you and I've been following your FB page. Seems you're on the road to a great body.
Poor Kim. Hope she gets better soon, Marion. Isn't there a product on the market that can help prevent this? Kim may need extra vits like me.
I have only plastic plates for everyday wear. The Arabellas are hidden!!
There are plenty of picnic ware on sale at WM!! Lol!
