Will be back tonight.

Thanks for the new room Jaye!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thanks Jaye
LK - I have a berm, and it's surrounded on 3 sides by railway ties painted black - the 4th side is my trailer.
So, to work in the front garden, I had to sit on the railway ties.

Hello Ladies,

Yay Pegi!!! We got much needed rain too ^_^ and I think there is more on the way from what news said???? It is still cloudy and cool here, no sun so I am inside working on a birdbath/birdfeeder totem.

Oh don't know if I've mentioned it or not but..........My friend Sheri is getting married Mother's Day in Las Vegas. To say am I happy, no I'm not. They have only known each other a little over nine months. And what I can't understand is back in Jan. Sheri and Jim had a disagreement and Jim walked out of her house, without saying a word, did not speack to her for over a week. He said then that things were moving to fast. Now they are getting married!!!???? I told Sheri I think they are making a HUGE mistake, and rushing into this. But oh well, it's their business and if it doesn't work out I will be the first to say " I told YOU so!!!" LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, what is a berm?

Cindy, so many rush into things like that, hope it works out for them? Can't wait to see your birdbath/totem!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Still in the glue drying stage..but here it is. I mdae a mess with the glue trying to get the little glas to stay in one place :( but I think I will be able to clean it off after everything is dried

Busy, busy, Cindy!! You do so well in the totem building. Sun was out for a long time, now it looks like rain. If we get some it will be welcome. Lots of dark clouds now.

DH didn't pass his eye test for DMV. Well, his right eye is still inflamed and he sees the eye doctor on Wednesday. He has a temperary license now, good for 2 months. Over 60 years of driving and now he has to have form filled out by eye doctor. Should have gone in for renewal weeks ago before the eye started giving him trouble. Do you know he had to pay $32 for his renewal, boy did they jack up the price. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised since everything has almost doubled or has doubled.

Going to start gathering up my plates, etc. for totems and see what I can come up with.
I really do need a craft room!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, that is so pretty, love that red!

Pegi, sorry to hear about hubby not passing his test. Hope his eye problem clears up soon.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

My mom has to take a test this year for her license. She is afraid she won't pass because of her eye sight also. Some ppl that she bowls with did not pass theirs. She said you can't believe all he has to do, driving school etc. The older you get the harder it is to get license. Should be other way around the younger you are........ Yup $32 to renew, awful!!! And fishing license are $35 ack!!! So Doug can just by his own I don't enjoy fishing much anymore, I'd rather float on air mattress, swim or play with the dogs.

Thanks on the totem.........Last time I shopped at Goodwill for glass I spent $56, lol, still have quite a few pieces left

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wish our thrift shops had glass like that! We don't have any here, so when I look in San Antonio, if you do find any nice pieces, they want brand new prices for them!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

LK - a berm is a small "hill" or flower garden, and sometimes surrounded by supports - in my case it's railway ties, two high.
Most berms are in the middle of a lawn, but I don't have a lawn, so it's like this one - this is how it looked in 2009.
Or, it can just be a gradual sloping one like they described here:

Ah, like a raised bed? Very pretty!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yes, a raised bed, indeed :-)
berm is much quicker to type lol

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning sistahs.
Susan, I'm glad to know that raised beds are also called berms. I was used to thinking of berms as very high raised barriers or pictures of some houses in Europen countries surrounded by natural berms for insulation.
Okay, that said.. nowadays if I want to plant something, we do them in berms! Saves the hassle of taking chances with gumbo soil!

Sorry to read your DH failed his eye test, Pegi.
Hope the inflammation go away before his scheduled test. Have you tried the camera yet?
At the top of the camera, the tiniest button is to turn on or off. Next to it, is the button to capture pictures.
On the back, there's the button for profile with a zoom lens for close up and then you could switch to wide angle.
I think XP has an inbuilt program that opens up when you insert the memory card into a USB port. Haven't been to a store where I can find an easy program for you, WM doesn't carry softwares at all!

Wow Cindy! Beautiful.... Besides the totem poles, will you be making more candles and painted pavers? You'd do well at craft shows selling them!

LK, the Goodwills are at the beach, and I'm not lucky enough to frequent them. Can't find good glasses there.
Once there was this lady who picked up more than a couple of hundred dollars of knick knacks.. like baskets... Christmas decorations. She said she owned a craft store in another town, and she repurposed them. Would love to see the transformations.

Sis Kathy, are you doing better now? Hope the house is in order and Kaden is co-operating.

Marion, did you and Kim celebrate Cinco De Mayo?

Lana, I showed Kel your picture, and he said that you must be related to me.
This is a pic of me in 1997, we could be in the same family!!

Alright sistahs.. share with me some old pictures of yourselves!

OMG, there's this huge, bright ball of light in the sky! It's amazing. It makes your skin warm and everything is shiny!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

pegi, my eye dr. has to sign a form every year for the state to allow me to drive. I have a bad eye

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Bummer, I typed a message and the cyber fairies took it!

That same bright warm thing is in our sky today also. Just hope it dries some of the soggy ground so it smells better.

Jaye, Catie-Beth had her first Communion on Cinco de Mayo so that is what we celebrated. Wonderful day!!!

Busy here also. Workman coming in and out but finally managing to get some of the much needed work done at last.

Later....................

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

My DH always used to kid around saying he had a 40 ft. white cane at home that he uses when he drives truck. Don't think he figures that's funny any more. My gosh, there are drivers around with only one eye and drive, my dad was one of them, but guess they got pretty strict over the years. Well, hope the eye doctor can get his eye back in shape soon. He does see her tomorrow and he will surely have her sign the form. Already he is wondering what we will do if he can't drive any more. I have a lot more faith that he does.

Jaye, I haven't used the camera yet, but have figured a lot of things out. Now I have to wait until our weather decides what it is going to do, rain or shine. Of course, I could take a picture of Mandy, she has once again tore the guts out of one of her toys. I'm tired of cleaning fluff from every room. I think she enjoys messing up the hallway the most.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Mandy's keeping you busy, Pegi! As though you need more chores. Baaaad Mandy!

Marion, is the kitchen all done? Hope before it gets too hot, you'll have a/c back on.
Happy belated birthday CB!

Overcast still around here Lana. Rains supposed to stop though, we might see that bright orb later.

Trying to keep up with new internet lingo is just impossible for these old brains. But this might help us sistahs. Ignore this if you're NOT over 50 :D

Lol!! You know you'll find a way to replace what you've lost :D

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

FINALLY WARMED UP HERE, BUT RAIN MOVING BACK IN FOR THE WEEKEND.
oops, sorry, forgot my caps were on

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Kathy, how is Donna doing? Bet she is busy with plants this time of year?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You're right Susan. She is certainly model material.

Does Donna have a website, Sis Kathy?

Sun's out, the birds are here. Got to replenish the bird feeders. Strangely, the cats didn't bother them this year. They must be too fat to hunt!!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

donna is very busy , but busy is good.
her web site is- vincentgardens.com

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks LK! She does have lots more plants than just salvia, Sis.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, I just tried to reload that link you sent, and there are no clematis showing up now?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

It worked for me.. must be your IPad!! :D

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL! I was at the computer, it would load one time, and not the next. I finally got it!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, you asked earlier for older pictures of ourselves... This was My Mom, my younger Brother Roger and myself. I was about 4 or 5 here?
