Thought I'd move us over into what will be a warmer room..
We came from here
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1307028/
Sun is just starting to shine, birds are chirping, but brrrrr
let's hope it will continue to warm up and I can get a few flower beds raked.
Hope it's a sunshine day in your neck of the woods
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends..
Sun is shining here Betty but it is soooo cold out!!!
Tubby's tulip has broken ground and I'm hoping it will be up for next Sunday. Maybe not though unless it warms up a lot!
Sewing room is almost finished. I still have all my white and black fabrics to take from my bedroom to the new room. Then maybe I can sew fro a while!!! I'll take pictures later today....
Hoping all those in need of prayer are doing okay and that prayers are being answered.
I am so anxious to see your room Barb, you and Norm have put mega energy into this project! I too am working with white and black fabric..got Linda's fabric cut into 5" squares.
Be nice to go out and get some raking done but it's far too cold this mornimg, will try and do some this afternoon.
Debbie, Linda and I are 1st cousins and raised next door to each other (raised like sisters) she is the one who married Roger's brother Rene who later left her to raise 2 little children and took off with my brother Bernie's wife!
Best go get clothese out of the dryer
Morning everyone! Thanks for the new room Betty!
The new cutting table holds my rulers on the left (they hang from hooks) and the other cabinet hold my pins, needles, pens etc. and my ironing pad (a Steady Betty one!!!)
My rotary cutters and scissors are in the top drawer but the others are still empty. My batting and ironing board are in the small closet in the room....
Most of the stuff is now in the room and I just need to tweak things around. I'm so thrilled with it - NO MORE CLUTTER!!!! I cannot start something until I am done with whatever I'm working on with the exception of the coloring book totes for the kids.
Barb, that looks nice!
Wow and double wow, I've a big smile on my face, everything has a place of its own, perfect work space..now I am wondering just how long it will stay that way. Am sure you are better than I at keeping it half decently organized!
Just love it.. Bet you are loving going inside your work area..congrats, just love it..thanks for sharing
I just came in for lunch, front done..spoke to next door neighbors, he told me
Not to be concerned if I see people going in and out. They bought a home in Orillia where he and his wife live and this week I will see a for sale sign up..here is hoping I will have as good when new owners move in.
Aunt Muriel just called, coming for me to rag her squares, once done I will go back outside and do another garden
Thanks ladies. I think it will work out just fine as long as I stick to my guns about one project at a time...
Do you think that's possible Barb??
I've fulfilled many commitments this weekend, I'm exhausted!!
Aunt Muriel just left, got her rag quilt put through the accuquilt, I cut 5" square blocks to do black/white queen size quilts for Linda, Suzanne and myself, all I believe will be Christmas gifts, put the queen size quilt on the frame, did several hours of raking (about did me in).. I've already had my bath, looking for a movie to just relax.
That was suppose to be it for the day..then I remember just how organized Barb's craft room is and think I should go downstairs and put a few hours in cleaning/organizing my room up.
I've just got to finish some of the projects I've undertaken these past few weeks, likely with Paul in PEI this week I might get a few done.
oops forgot a few photo's
1. aunt muriel cleaning accuquilt threads from die and Missy wanting her to play
2. Aunt Muriel must think i dont have enough to do, brought me 2 queen size quilt blocks to be
embroidered, mom had already given me a few cross stitched
3. Missy begging me to play
4. my black and white 5 inch squares ready to start Melanie's christmas quilt
those embroidery projects would be good to leave at work....something to do, when you don't have a project with you to work on !! ^_^ LOL
Morning all
Drats, it's Monday already!
Yes, my thoughts was well Lindakay. Aunt Muriel thought maybe I could remove the work she did on them because it isn't done properly but i'll not do it...she will drop off all the thread for it..
Betty, I must send along kudos to you my friend. You are one of only a few people I know who put good money into a specialty machine and get your money's worth out of it. You surely do use your Accuquilt machine!!!
Aunt Muriel looks like she is a love!!! And Missy will never change!!! The craft room is HERS!!!
Thanks Barb, I will soon need a new die for the large rag quilt die..not sure how many rag quilts it's done but I'm guessing close to 30. Nothing worse than having toys and not using them.
Hi All, I'm just missing you all so much....been sick with a staph infection in the one kidney I have so been doing drip meds twice a day @ the hospital, I've been really weak and just not up & around.....finished the drugs, got another appt with dr today to follow up.....
just wanted to say Hi and use the immortal words of Arnold: I'll be back !
Oh Deb, keep up your spirits! Was wondering where you were. Feel better soon, and take care of yourself.
We will all be here, thinking of you and I will be sending prayers up also!
Debbie
Good morning all. I just found this General section and am thrilled to see several of you with whom I've been in trades!
Welcome Lanakila! Glad you found us!
Thrilled to see both you post Deb and Lanakila
Deb, knowing just how sick you must be with the infection/kidney I so want to send hugs and sunshine your way..glad to see you on-line and look forward
Here I was, using the large meeting room, sewing machine and black/white blocks all over the table while you were all gabbing. Then who walked in but the boss..he takes everything in stride, had a few projects for me to do, I did stop sewing the 1/4" seam just long enough to mark my 'to do's' down..was told to do them at my leisure..OK when's that, I've lots of sewing to get done. I had bought him a computerized unit that contains all the drink mixes, simply scan or put in the name of the drink you want and the recipe comes up. He's away in another province all week, his birthday is Thursday so I was glad he dropped in as I was able to give it to him..he loved it then off he went..lol

Morning all,
Quiet evening last night..my most relaxing part of the day is wake and read about your day/evening, to laugh and sometimes share a tear with you, sooo this morning I'm a little lost.
I've sat with coffee in hand watching the grass grow green, wow doesn't take long once Mother Nature puts her mind to spring. Birds are chirping, enjoying the seed ive put out.
Hard to beilieve with paradise here this mornimg that a few of our communities just north of us are totally submerged in water, Huntsville being the worse.
Well, done a load of wash this morning, scoured kitchen counters, washed floors and now I'm off to work
Hope all is well in your world and that you will have a sunshine day
Ahhh Mary, sending hugs
Good morning! A quiet day here this morning too. Yesterday I got five totes done for the cancer kids and today I'll get the last five prepped and ready to sew before the end of the month.
Laundry today and maybe a bit of catch-up reading too as the day is dreary.
Sending prayers to all in need especially Jaye's FIL, Debbie and Shannon and Marion's Mom. Hope today is an easy one for you
Lordy Barb you sure are working hard to meet your quota..amazing!!!
How's that room, still organized? Let's hope the sun comes out for you.
Morning everyone. All the threads have been quiet,,guess it is gardening time. I spent yesterday emptying a bunch of old flower pots, to find out they are very brittle from the sun. So this morning after my routine lab work, I am off to find more pots and bags of soil, so I can get my morning glory seeds started.
Good morning,
Didn't do much yesterday but some cleaning and made a nice dinner. Shannon went to work for the day and came home
a bit early, exhausted. Tomorrow is the big appointment.
Not much really else.
Waving good morning to all.... need to get my eyeballs screwed in so I can see....and perhaps a cup of coffee!
Debbie
That's great LindaKay, nice to get your fingers back into the soil..is it this weekend you are off? Hope your envelope makes it ontime. Wasn't sure how much $$ I owed you for postage, I put $10 in the envelope, please let me know exactly what I was short, this old mind sometimes can't retain anything.
I looked at the tremendous amount of seed I have, mostly saved from my flowers last year..you know how the boys come and spend "Mother's Day" and do chores I want done?? well was thinking maybe I can rent a tiller for the day and have them till a 3' area all along the property line and throw in the seed, what comes up comes up, might make a nice backdrop.
You sure are on a spring cleaning jaunt Debbie, bet you are feeling good about it!!
Overwhelming not knowing what is happening with Shannon, here is hoping once you get the doctor's opinion tomorrow you will feel much better.
Good Morning!
Well I decided to go to the house after all! Oh I am so glad I did, met a lady Joyce..actually this is the second time I've met her, she was at Buffalo Lake lodge where we go for dinner. We were chattering away, and she just kept looking at me, saying I feel like I know you from some where...All the sudden she started talk about the last time we met, her and a group of ladies and a couple young kids, She was laughing and saying how i must be a "Twisted" Sister whoah, that was me!! Get this it's from what 3 years ago when I was having my gathering. I was all excited at the time to be having it, was going to try and split the time, here and there...Well, We had talked about the Sistah gathering and one of the Ladies was going to give us a tour of her garden!! unfortunatley my gathering only stayed in IL. Joyce was telling me how they had planned on having a craft and were pretty excited too and of course disappointed we didn't come. Told her how sorry i was and so embarrassed that i hadn't called to say we weren't. Well anyway all was forgiven and They invited me to come to their next girls day out sometime end of June!!! So I will most likely will go, should be a ball...
We got the main floor ceiling painted and the few walls, looks real nice...While there I also worked very diligently on my birdhouse, I am sooo late with it! But Oh, Oh, oh I'm pretty excited that it's working according to my big idea...Sooo, worked on it all day yesterday too, my goal it to have it done and in the mail by Friday....My poor buddy is so understanding, but she has waited long enough, little giggles, not to mention, I got a few tools that i needed to do the job!!! LOL at long last a simple Dremel,,,OMG, I LOVE it!!
Jake's back but we won't know the results until tomorrow.
Awe...So glad you, Betty and Debbie were able to meet and catch up!!! yikes on the wind picking you up, but glad you were there and back again safe and sound.
Prayers for all in need!
Deb, sure hope your on the mend and it's a quick recovery.
Debbie, Sure hope Shannons appoint is full of good news too.
(((((((((((((Marion)))))))))))))))
Barbara!! Wow, so nice your craft is almost put together, yay sure hope it's all that you want it to be, great cabinets you got...Are you sure you don't want to come and help me organize my space? LOL, I lost my bird house pattern, so ended up totally cleaning out the junk from mine, haha. Found it too but boy it was driving me insane, it took the entire day just to come up with the pattern.
Waiving Hi Thunder!! Hope all is going well. How are your blankets coming along?
Linda Kay, sure hope all is well with your appointment.
Hey Liz, if your Lurking, Waiving hiya, was fabulous chatting with you and Thanks again for the color idea, going to give that a try today!
Lets see not so much news, been working a little on the yard, raking and picking up debris! laundry day, now my machine is dried out.
I've been up since crack of dawn, got ll my chores pretty much done, so now i can play a bit!
Betty, Betty, nice quilt top your black & white is!! So glad Aunt murial came to visit and work on her rag quilt. OMG, please go slow at the yard work, Sounds like it's will be a great mothers day gift to till, yessiree, boarder around house will be a beautiful addition to your already spectacular gardens.
Well breakfast is ready and laundry needs a switch, be back in a bit.
Hope you all enjoy the day.
Oh and Welcome Lanakia!!! glad you found the thread.
Judy, glad you went up to the cottage, sounds like a lot of work was done and playing as well. OMG you can sure get yourself into a pickle lol Joyce sounds like a lovely lady, make sure you go to the craft gathering as you will be sure to meet many lovely ladies.
You will have to take photo of the birdhouse..oh don't you love those tools.
Wish I had a garage as Darlene is having a garage sale next month and there will be so many of Mike's tools available..bigger power tools than I now have..oh well, I'd only be cutting my fingers off if I had them.
Does Jake think he did well??
Judy do you think Steve would like to take a bike ride to my house end of July to do the Elvis Festival?? ohhh maybe there is a bus you could take
Of course offer is always open to everyone
Hey Judy, you're going to love that dremel tool, you can do so much with them!
Dr's appointment was just lab work, and I warned the girl that my veins like to hide and roll around, well, she thought she had it, stuck the needle in, and sure enough she poked through the first one. Ok, here goes the 2nd poke, and the vein rolled away, so instead of pulling out the needle to try again, she just keeps moving it around under the skin, and she finally got it, but my arm is so sore and bruised now! Guess she needed someone to practice on?
Debbie, sending prayers for tomorrow, hope you get good results for Shannon.
Ahh, sorry to hear that Lindakay, terrible to have them jab/jab and then another technician come in and hit the next vein..have you been feeling unwell and not telling us?
Just call Noah (Michelle's son) to see if he wanted an hour an evening raking, he was out riding his bike, she said he needed break pads so likely I'd see him this evening..lordy/lordy is it wrong for me to pray something else goes on his bike lol
put in a good day, got the 9 block squares all done, 1/2 cut into 1/4's, will finish cutting the rest of them tonight into 1/4's so they will be ready to sew..big difference when you buy fabric specifically for a quilt vs just randomly using what you have..am sure Mel will love getting it for xmas
even got 3 of the 4 panels done with ties for the memorial tie quilt I'm doing for Mae and I wonder why I'm tired when I get home..
ooops 2 minutes of o/t best I get running
I am feeling great Betty, just on new cholesterol meds, and they need to do lab work every 6 weeks, to keep an eye on the kidney and stuff! I am taking simvastatin.
Betty, I got your envelope today! Thanks so much!
That was quick LindaKay, not sure you will ever want to do perriwinkle but if you do then you'll have the template and paper tracing to do it! Haven't heard of those meds, thanks goodness my valves are working A-ok and no need for meds bless I do something stupid soooo that being said what precautions other than meds must you take?
Just got in, put in another hour raking, no young Noah, guess his patents bought him bicycle brakes..
I figure by fall I ought to have the yard raked..not even going to think about all the gardens needing edging and weeded..sometimes I think my sons have the right idea, doze the garden in and seed then sit on a mower and just cut grass.
Big sigh, Picked up hot roast BBQ beef sandwich and fries knowing I'd be too tired to make myself something..going to just mellow out till Ann comes for bingo..ooops forgot whose turn to pick up cards???
Good luck on them info.
I am supposed to watch my intake of foods with high carbs and cholesterol in them.
I got your envelope today too Betty. Could you post another picture of the blocks for me? I''ll then print it out and keep it with the template. Thank you so much.
Betty, I found this site while searching for the pattern. There are a lot of ladies quite upset about the template being wrong, and lots of ladies wasted lots of fabric, and others complained they had to go buy double what it called for. They stated that if your not happy with the template, you can return it for refund.
Others stated they worked around it like you did.
http://blog.missouriquiltco.com/how-get-the-periwinkle-point/
Wow, he's I followed the directions to compensate for incorrect sizing of template and I was lucky that I managed to find the additional fabric..what bothered me was why after knowing it was wrong did they keep selling it. The one you have is the correct size.
Last week I did another tutorial and it did not work out either..her methods are more than easy however next time before I cut fabric I'll test it with scrap fabric.
Wearing sad face, did not win at t.v. bingo, so no new riding lawnmower bought from my winnings
But think I will have cause to smile tomorrow after work..Ann told me about a friend of ours who redesigned her heard and has no need of her riding mower..I just called and will drop in after work tomorrow and if it's not too big I'll buy it..think she has a trailer that attaches to it as well..she said it just got serviced and a new battery out in it..the boys tell me because of all the flower beds and ponds it will be more work than its worth,I'm not listening though, likely they are right and I'll here I told you so.
Betty, will say the boys are right on this one with your garden layouts. We had a rider when moved here and DH....who is "Mr. Riding Mower man" traded his brother a snowblower....because it wasn't worth it with all the ins and outs for gardens, trees and such. That speaks volumes with that.
Early morning tomorrow, so going to say good night.
Sweet dreams
