Jaye, I am that extra weight on your shoulder...you too Pegi. I really hope the weight isn't to much as I only want to be a little angel sitting on your shoulder, sharing and helping with all you both are dealing with now. Just know I love and care for both and wish I could make things easier for all.
Sweet Interruptions # 257.. really 257
Everything is good for lab results, cholesterol levels are coming down, so the Simvastatin is working. Now I just need to lose some weight. I saw a nutritionist, and she suggested a good meal plan, that includes lots of fruits and veggies, very little beef, must be extra lean, and a little bit of grilled chicken or fish. I am going to try it for a bit and see what happens.
LK, don't think of preparing veges the regular way, make them exciting and you'll never notice the meat missing.
I tend to cook them in curries.. stir fries and I surf the net for ethnic dishes. You'd be surprise when not having eaten meat for so long, you feel nauseous when you do pick up a piece.
The only setback on a this vege diet is I get hungry all the time, so I make sure I am getting plenty of good carbos with sprouted grain breads.
As for fruits, those I have to be careful with. Too much fructose is bad for me.
Thanks Marion. We all can use angels like you. I sure have plenty of angel sistahs here.
2 days ago, in a fit of rage, I destroyed all my everyday china. Something got to give!! Kel cleaned up the mess.
Then I started cussing at the appliances (since I can't cuss Kel nor his mother) wishing harm on them.
Funny thing is, the microwave went kaput yesterday.
Remember my red truck which for one year I've been begging for Kel to get it fixed? He got it hauled to the mechanic yesterday afternoon without any prodding.
It's good to be a bitch sometimes!! Oh.. I didn't ask the Lord for forgiveness, as it's Him that helped with the microwave ;)
Oh Jaye, hope smashing the dished helped?
LOL! good for you jaye
I'm still laughing LK!!!
It felt so good! Got to do it more often, but with plastic plates of course!
Glad you approve, Sis Kathy! Sometimes I find myself holding back too long, trying to do what God would want me to do.
I don't think the devil had pushed me, I truly believe God doesn't want me to get ulcers!! Lolol!!
Do we need to send you more plates Jaye? LOL!
Nahh.. Dollar General isn't too far from the house.
They always have sales on paper plates!! At least I still have the silverware!! LOL!
oh my goodness, Jaye ....... u didn't do what I did with my ex when we were together....... was washing dishes and had a handful of forks I was drying..... threw 'em at him! Then yelled that he made me do that!! Reminds me of when I kicked a hole in the drywall, and told him he made me do it...... My ex used to make me so mad!!!!!
Now I internalize it but I think it's better so.....
BUT, I do have to say that my temper hasn't been like that since I met and married Bob. He's better for me......
When my ex made me mad, I clammed up and said not a wod for days. When I did not say anything he knew he did wrong! Now I talk back, and sometimes not very nicely!
Bob then is really the man you need, Susan.
With Kel, it's his passiveness that drove me to the verge of madness.
If I internalize, my doctors would be prescribing some more drugs for me.
LK, it feels good doesn't it?
With my ex, I was the perfect meek wife and took all the abuse. He was an alcoholic. One day, he made that mistake by calling me one materialistic 'b'. Our dining room floor had a display of shards made from the finest quality crystals.. and then I filed for separation!! Yep after more than a quarter century of marriage AND I was the sole breadwinner the last 15 years!
Poor Kel. He knows now, if I do clam up, I'd be through with this marriage.
my o my..... we do have our anger issues, don't we?
I can't take anger......... absolutely shatters me. I try to remember that, when I aim anger at anyone else - they don't like it any more than I do........
Jaye, are you going to run a Red, White, and Blue swap this year?
Yes Lana, the only swap I'll be doing!
Looking forward to seeing you there.
Glad to hear your going to have it Jaye!

Will announce it in another week, LK.
Oh Cindy, is that a voodoo lily? Pewwwww!
LOL Yes it is LK, they are so neat to look at but oh my they are smelly.
And I take it Doug did not notice the smell?
LOL nope, he can't smell that good...............me I can smell things a mile away
This is for Pegi, a pix of my totem....going to make a smaller one with coffee cup to go beside chair........still have a lot to do with the yard. I'm still bringing stuff down from my mom's
Calif Gov has released a statement that 10,000 inmates will be released by the end of this month....it is very possible my brother will be one of them as they are targeting lifers who have served their time and are 55 or older....Please pray for us that he gets out, my mom is so hopefull
Love your gardens, and that totem is so pretty!
Sending prayers that your Brothers name will be on that list!
Your mom is a pretty lady, Susan. Glad to hear she likes where she is, makes it much better on all of you to know she is happy.
That totem is so pretty, Cindy. I love your little garden area. It is going to be a hot day so I'm not going too work out in the yard until later on when it starts cooling off. Have to sand my metal chairs so I can paint them and put flowers where the seat used to be. Think I'll paint each one a different color. Also have another chair that I'll leave the seat on and just set a plant on the seat, like your little chair.
Hi, Jaye, put memory card in camera and now ready to take pictures. Of course, I think I should do some reading in the manual first.
Prayers for all who need them, I think that includes all of us.
Cindy, you should hire yourself out as a small area landscape designer! You did very well with your yard, and may I ask, what is my teapot doing on the totem pole?
Lol.. kidding sister. It's so cute, and I'm sure that blooming chair next to it, makes a perfect picture for passers by.
Susan, your mother looks very happy. So less worries for your family now as she has adapted very well to her new home.
Pegi, you'd be snapping away for sure. You'd master it in no time. There are so many features in there. Just hit that menu button and scroll!
It's drizzling again,, no end to it for the next few days. At least it's not snowing! My garden loves it.
LK, I'll save some clematis seeds for you, but they'll take years to germinate.
Be warned. My church sister has been praying over hers for 2 years now!
yes, my mom is much happier my sisters say - place is clean, and she gets good care, including regular meals and friends to chat with all day long if she wishes. And she's coming out of her shell, so to speak. She also gets more family company now that they don't have to contend with cat allergies, and a dirty home.
Stan's busy clearing stuff out of the house but as Ruth said, he's throwing out memories.......... Ruth rescued Mom's journals that she's been writing in since the 80's...... Stan's just not that attached to things like this. He's got charities coming by to take stuff away on Monday. Stuff that Mom wasn't going through - she had enough to do, getting herself ready to move.
Love that picture of your Mother Susan, I agree, she looks very happy. Send her a big Happy Birthday hug from us please?
When my Mom passed, we were all there cleaning her place, and like your Brother, mine were the same. He was throwing things out left and right, not asking if anyone else wanted anything. He even went to the bathroom, and threw out my toothbrush, hairbrush, hairspray... When I asked where it went too, he said he threw it away, he did not know it belonged to anyone! DUH!!! So from that moment, we all got orders to ask others if they wanted it, before it got tossed!
s'funny - Ruth said that he was throwing out envelopes of pictures, etc, and almost threw out one that contained $100 in it. Don't know why Mom had that set aside, but there ya go! Also, she had restaurant gift certs that she hadn't used because she wasn't inviting others out for dinners (thought they were too busy to be invited, apparently). She never had anything to do, so when they were free they would ask her out to their homes for dinners. She forgot about the gift certs, too........
First partly sunny day after over a week of grey drizzle. I went out to check on the nesting chickadees, as I never open their nestbox when it is cold or windy, and found this guy hanging out in the raspberry bramble. He's a VERY newly fledged Brown Thrasher. His tail feathers look more like a duck's butt right now, because there wasn't room in the nest to grow the beautiful tail feathers that he'll soon have.
Oh how cute, I bet he will be eating those berries soon?
Afternoon everyone, hope your all having a good day. Nice and warm here today. 87 right now.
rainy and cold here
cool here but so far no rain.
Beautiful flowers Thunder! Calibrachoas/superbells?
I love all the flowers I see being posted - thanks for the Beauty input!!
We finally got some much needed rain. Rained all night and got a down pour this morning. Sun is trying to come out. Much easier for me to pull some weeds. Maybe our lawn will start to green up a little.
DH goes in this afternoon for his written driving test. He is worried about his eyes, but I think he will do OK. Wednesday is eye doctor and class with RN about chemo. Wheel chair was delivered on Saturday and hope he only needs it when we go to doctors.
Time to get my sander out for my metal chairs, I need to have some pretties like Cindy. She did a great job in her yard. I've found my paints, just hope they all aren't dried up, so going to do a touch up job on my garden stakes.
Sounds like you are enjoying the rain? Have fun in the garden. Good luck to hubby for his test!
whew,,,,,,,, outside doing pruning and weeding,,,,,,,, ouch the brambles....
it's hot in the sun, and black boards are hot to sit on......
