Hospice would be the best for Murdock. He'd be getting professional help round the clock as you know, LK.
Kel said his mother accepted the decision and took it well. Her claim to that insurance policy is coming closer. Not my words...
Sweet Interruptions # 257.. really 257
just came from the clinic. i'm coming down with pneumonia again, so i'm on bed rest. imagine me resting, with all this unpacking to do. and still moving things. I won't be settled for a year
Sorry to hear you're not doing well Kathy, but yes, rest is the best thing for you! Get better soon!
Sistah Jaye, sending prayers for Kel and his Father, and you too.
Awww... you are doing too much for one person, sis Kathy.
Leave all alone, just unpack enough to live day to day and rest, rest, rest.
Hey there my sistah Judy. Love your haircut on your profile pic.
The saga continues. Now it's FIL that refused to go to Hospice. He's very adamant about that, and he'd be staying for a couple more days at the hospital. If he's improving more, the doctors agree that he'd be sent home.
I told Kel that now, it's all about Murdock and he's still very articulate in his speech.
sending you hugs Jaye ♥♥♥
Jaye, will hospice nurses be going to his home to keep an eye on him?
Thanks Thunder.
LK, I hope so. But if I know MIL, she tend to chase professional help away. It's her house, and she can do that. Did that with BIL Leslie's nurses when he's bedridden with brain tumor for 7 years. Murdock and Kel did the muscle work of course.
'Fired' the in home, visiting physio therapist for Murdock. That's why the man could never regain his strength.
That woman's just plain looney.
It's so bad that she had built a reputation with caregivers.
Sistahs, sometimes I feel I shouldn't expose too much on Kel's family. But then, I won't be forthright with what we are facing.
We can only pray for what's best for Murdock.
The anger part of me is wishing Ida goes first so we all can have some peace. Unfortunately, God still has plans for her!
Look I won't wish this on anyone, even my worst enemy. A psycopathic MIL!
Sending prayers your way Jaye & Kel. Marion, praying for you and family too. Hugs to all.
Six months ago I got this phone call about a health card and ended up having to change my checking account #. Today, a woman called and asked if I sent back the completed questionaire for my health card. Told her I didn't want a health card and she preceeds to tell me that everyone over the ago of 70 has to carry a health card. After going back and forth she started asking me for the tracking number for the bank. Told her I don't give that out and she said she has it but just wants me to verify it. Yeah, right!! If this is a scam this woman was very good at trying to pull it off. She finally gave up on me, thank goodness.
You're a smart woman, Pegi!! Truly sounding suspicious there. Got your tracking number and yet want you to verify it over the phone! Indeed... you are certainly not going to fall for that. Thank God you had the common sense to change your account.
I've only been burnt once, and that's with Amazon! Our card was swiped for ITune purchases, and as I had said before, the bank did refund the money.
Then a strange email supposedly from eBay asking to verify information. Well eBay never ask for pertinent info over emails right, especially when all money transaction is conducted over Paypal.
I replied back to the emailer, whether he's from Nigeria. Never heard from him since then!
This was in Cebu, Phillippines. Yes, I am bored!!
Check it out. . prisoners doing Michael Jackson en masse!
Jaye, looks like you are not sleeping last night? Hope you're sleeping in today? You forgot the link.
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!
Pegi, you're smart to refuse the info over the phone, but I would call the bank and alert them that someone is trying to get your info!
Please say prayers for the victims of the shootings going on in Illinois, report say's 5 dead.!
http://www.ksdk.com/news/article/377071/3/WLDS-5-dead-in-Manchester-Illinois-shooting
Thanks for the coffee, LK. Was in bed at 4 as I was 'gassy'!! Lolol!!
Had lentils and garbanzo beans curry last night, and boy, did my stomach paid for that! Even Lola had that look.. "Mama.. not again". Yep the farts woke her up! So, I stayed upright and watched the series of "Chopped" that I had recorded.
I hope that little kid isn't seriously injured. If I don't have the fear of the Lord and of course you my sistahs that I can unload, I think my anger can escalate towards some fatalistic shootings.
Barb.., LK.. congrats!! Wooohoooo... our suggestions are chosen by Becky in the other building!! Will be looking forward to what Becky would select from Romans and Mark.
Love all the books in the NT.
I had suggested Galatians as that's the book that helped me so much, coming from another religion. Galatians stressed that we are justified by grace through faith and not works of law.
All other religions' ticket to their heaven is through works.
Definitely no beans today!! Steamed asparagus and banana salad!!
Oh.. forgot the link again.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZC6JuTlOVM
Oh, you go from stinky gas to stinky pee with the asparagus! ^_^
Loved that video by the way, very well done!
Just passing through, mom continues the same.....sleeping most of the time. She is eating very little, if at all, will answer if spoken to but usually one word answers. Knows us but most of the time. Will have to share an epoisode from yesterday...laughs are always good.
She got a new roommate and believe you me, the roommate is a "doozy". She is there on respite under Hospice Care. The daughter checked her in complete with a super sized bag of Cheetos, a large box of cheese crackers and a 1/2 gallon of Mogan David wine...including wine glass. The daughter poured the glass full and then told her mother, "if you need more, push your button and the aides will come refill your glass." Ha! If they don't even come pour or give water to the current residents, then they will come pour her wine? NOT! It was comical watching the CNA's expressions when they realized there was the huge bottle of wine sitting there and the woman with a glass full drinking it in bed. Takes all kinds.
Kathy, please take care of yourself.....pneumonia isn't what you need now or every.
Jaye, keeping you and Kel in my prayers. Wish someone could convience Murdock to take advantage of Hospice......only for his best interest as well as Kels.
Hiospice nurse just called and say we should take today to stay home and rest.....mom is sleepingcomnfortabley and we need this break so here we are.
Oh wow!!! Morgan David was my late MIL's favorite apperitif. Yes, she'd drank by the coffee cups full. Said to stimulate the heart.
That's too sweet for me Marion.
Good that you'd be having rest. Still praying for your mother, and yes laughters are always good till the end.
Sorry to write this again. As of this morning, Murdock still wants to come home. He might be released tomorrow since his heart rate is now back to normal.
Kelvin has already applied for FMLA leave today, he's not too happy with his father's stubborness. To answer your question Thunder, he says that most probably his mother would chase the hospice nurse away.
BIL is useless!!! Kel had to run over to parents' house as he doesn't know to close the electric gate that stopped halfway. Kel told him just to pull it.. as it runs on rollers. BIL panicked and insisted he do it. MIL always call on Kel for the same thing, and madame wanted the gate.
I know.. Kelvin's an enabler.. sigh...
Asparagus is a good diuretic, LK!! Lolol!! Only me in the house so what if my pee stinks.. better than farts!!!
Got an idea, LK!!!
How about we each send a pic of our favorite flower, and maybe Andy can incorporate them onto a quilt? Would be a nice garden quilt. Just thinking out loud.
Gonna take a nap.
went to old house and started digging up plants
come home and dishwasher quit workin, so Michael said he will buy me a new one when he gets home tomorrow
still finding boxes not unpacked, my wxplorer and siverado still need unloaded.
working my stepson to death, but he treats me like an invalid.
good to see you post maid m. prayer to your mom and you and your family
stil praying for Murdock, and that jaye and kel get the strength to get threw this....
if I missed someone, please know I am sorry
Kathy you should be in bed resting, not digging plants! You need to rest!
Jaye I like the idea of plants on the quilt!
You tell her LK! I'm tired of preaching to Sis Kathy. She needs to be tied down. Yes, you'll soon be a real invalid if you don't rest, Sis!! Not wishing that on you, but for Heaven's sake, leave work alone. Your lungs need rest from heavy breathing caused by exertion!
That way, LK, all can have a piece of themselves in the quilt.. and tell Andy that I'm like the Chinese Marilyn Monroe!! Lol!!
Now it's nap time!
sue l take the wine, but make my Cheetos the flaming hot kind
Morning everyone! Kathy, how are you feeling?
I hope all are doing well this morning. Got about 15 minutes of rain last night, just not enough to make plants happy.
Hello ladies.
I'm waiting on Kel to return. Doctors, Hospice and family are set to meet on Murdock's situation. He's to be discharged today.
Kel had only 4 hours of sleep in 48 hours. He was at the hospital since yesterday afternoon...so I know when he gets home, he'd be hugging his pillow.
Pegi, I won't be able to make it to the post office today, but will get it out Monday. Kel's taking a day off from work that day.
It's tempeh and tofu curry with asparagus of course!! Can't help it when asparagus is only 2 dollars a pound. Off season, it's a dollar more.
Anyone ever harvest or cook fiddle head ferns? I read they taste like asparagus, but a tad bitter.
Plenty growing wild around here in early spring, maybe next year I'll pluck off some of those spiral coils,.
Never had the ferns Jaye, let us know how they turn out.
feeling better, thanks lk. took muffin man back to the vet. his skin condition got worse, so another 2 hundred dollars worth of medicine. hope this works
Oh boy, sure hope the meds work for him!
me to. he has black scabs all over his belly, and armpits and legs. I woke up last nite to the sound of him ripping his hair out.
Oh, that is not good, hope the meds work quickly for him.
ohhh poor muffin, is he allergic to new yard?? is there a different kind of grass?? I had a dog allergic to grass, not fun!!
Poor muffin baby, all those itchies. My schnauzer scratches all the time too and I didn't think about allergies from outside. I thought she might have an allergy to food. So far fleas haven't invaded, but I'm ready with Advantage this time.
Darwin went for his monthly infusion today and he asked the gal about his PSA. It was 41 last month and 61.99 this month. Those very expensive meds are not working so the next step is chemo. He sees the oncologist on May 2nd and he will set it up. My emotions are running amock right now. I'm just not ready for this, he just doesn't say much but his emotions must be going crazy too. His birthday is the 7th of May and this is NOT a choice of presents.
sorry to hear that Pegi sending you hugs ♥♥♥
Sending lots of prayers for you both Pegi!
Kathy, another lady in another thread was just talking about her dog itching, the vet said to give her one benadryl a day. Her dog was allergic to the grass. I also have a friend in San Antonio, and her little, dog has excema real bad, she gives her dog one vitamin E tablet a day.

Now that you mentioned benadryl I do remember a lady saying that while I was at the vets a long time ago. Completely forgot about that. Must put a post-it note up to try that on my
Sami and a vitamin E tablet wouldn't hurt either. Thanks for passing that info along.
muffin man don't go out side, and this has been going on since before we moved. it just seems to be getting worse. the allergy shot he got yesterday is helping some, but he did scratch most of the nite
Ladies I am off to Hempstead, Tx for a DG round up, rouxcrew/Joy is hosting this one, and I can't wait to meet them all. I will be back Sunday sometime. Hubby is staying home to watch the dog. I get the week end to myself! :)
Be good while I am gone!
