Good morning LK.
Marion would be still at Sue's house, right to the very end, unless she herself needs to see her doctor. Then Charles of Kim will bring her home.
Sweet Interruptions # 257.. really 257
Thanks for the update Jaye.
Still working on baby blankets?
Yesterday on Facebook, one of the ladies from a sewing group put out the word they are looking for lap quilts for those affected from the Boston Bombings, so I am going to put a binding on this quilt, and get it sent off. I tried to find a pretty pink or green, but not here in Del Rio, so I chose a solid black. That is my project for this morning.
That's so pretty, LK. I love the fabrics you picked.
Right now, I'm cleaning up the floor. My blind cat is on the rampage and instigating fights with another.
A whole bottle of liquid fish fertilizer's the first casualty! Smeared a third of the washroom floor. It stunk to high heavens. Oh well, the odor of Lysol will overpower it. No.. floor won't blow up!
OH OH! Kitty on the rampage! I can just smell that Jaye, but you can't blame this smell on Kel this time! ^_^
Lolol!!! Heck YES!!
I'm upset with him, as he saw the mess but instead of helping returned to listening to his Gordon Lightfoot!
So, that's points deducted from his laptop goal!!
Oh with cats in the house and having scenarios, I go through 16 rolls of paper towels sometimes in a month. Plus the cleaners!
Fish fertilizer, what a stinky mess! I think even a fisherman would gag at that. Darwin wouldn't offer to help clean up that mess, just tell me about it and go off to his TV set. So far my biggest mess is from Mandy, she will chew up anything she finds on the floor. Who needs to buy a shredder when I have one right here. She does make tiny pieces all over. Loves to pull stuffing out of toys too, I think one of her favorite things to do.
Really hot out there today, had to give up digging in some of DH's junk. Took a short nap and now feel a little less dragged down.
I went back to read some of the threads, and LK asked if I ate the oranges, they really don't appeal to me, but I juiced them and the juice is really RED. Had to add sweetener to get the bitter taste out. It is a dwarf tree so didn't get too tall, one that DH picked to plant in back. I just wish my lemon tree grew so well. Think it needs an energy boost.
Hmm... Pegi, ever heard of an old folks' tale whereby you hit the tree if it doesn't seem to grow well?
That's what I've been told! Threaten it or hit it!! Lol!! I've never tried that, but I do have an apricot that hasn't been doing too great for 7 years now. Growing like a foot a year, and not producing anything. Maybe it needs a good spanking soon!
I love the bitterness in blood oranges. I'm just wired weird I guess.
I hope your days are good Sue and the twins are both in good health.
Over the moon right now!! I can't believe my good luck.
Last week, I stopped at a Goodwill Store and normally I can't find anything. But that day, I spotted a covered butter dish that I've been wanting for years, to add to my Mikasa Arabella. Paid only $2.50 for it.
Was so happy and I didn't care whether it's soiled or chipped. Thank God, not a flaw.
Well sistahs, I got curious and checked on eBay. Guess what? The going rate is $48 for a brand new one!!! Yayyyy!!!
God is so good! I've been wanting a new camera so bad as the old Canon with better optical zoom went kaput, and I've not been too happy with the Samsung.
At Walmart today, there was a special close out sale.
Picked up a Sony Cybershot, 16 mega pixel with 10X optical zoom, original price $229 selling for $71!!! WOW!!
Of course, I got it!!
Now waiting on the Lord to give me a good deal on a vehicle ;) If not, I'm still happy with the old truck!!
Food for tou on those deals Jaye! Way to go!
Pegi, don't over do it in that heat, take frequent breaks and drink your water.
Hey Sue, glad you popped in to say hello.
Jaye, you have some very pricey dishes!
http://www.mikasa.com/Arabella/arabella,default,sc.html
Lolol LK. My ex gave me 4 sets about 20 years ago for Christmas, and my BFF gifted me with one.
All I have left now are the dinner, salad plates and the soup bowls. The cups are chipped.. so are the mugs. Don't worry, since Kel started bringing home more cats, we have these packed away which is a good thing....if not..
Our everyday dish is Corelle. I think I have only 4 dinner plates left as lately some have been kissing the floor and the floor fought back!! Lolol!!
I have Corelle too, and it takes a lot to break them, but when they do go, they shatter. I had green beans in a bowl a few months ago, I placed them in the micro wave for 2 minutes, and when I placed it on the kitchen counter, the bowl shattered and went everywhere. I am down to one bowl and 6 plates. I have been looking at new dishes for awhile, I just can't find any I like that are not made in China. (Too much lead) Correlle has some nice ones, but they are square. Not for sure if I like square dishes or not. Maybe if I keep looking at them long enough...
Going out there and hit that lemon tree today, or at least threaten it What a great deal on that camera, I would have grabbed it up too. My old Kodak is 3 mega pixel, I dropped it on the cement once but it keeps on taking pictures. I better check out ads more closely.
I have Corelle too, same dishes for over 30 years and think I only shattered one. I do drop them from time to time too. I've picked up a couple large bowls at thrift stores and a platter. My jewel tea collection (autumn leaves) isn't complete, but unless I find a stray dish here and there I have quit adding to it. Started collecting them years ago when mom had a couple items left. She said she was pregnant with me when she started buying them from the jewel tea man, they are getting OLDER as I speak. LOL Last time I checked on the tea pot (one of mom's) it was going for $40.
That vine I have been complaining about for so long is falling down on the other side of the brick fence, I'm waiting for the gardeners to come and hope they cut it all down.
Morning LK.
Windy, chilly and it's a good day for weeding! Gonna be impossible to wake up sleeping beauty as he's been up all night watching vids.
You are right about the square plates. I can't bring myself to buy one. I had bought a couple of plates from WM, not Corelle, and you can't heat anything in them for more than 1 minute in the microwave. Gets too hot to handle.
Even the Goodwill store don't offer old Corelle, seems they resell them online.
By the way, that quilt is simply stunning LK. I have fabrics I hate to cut up, think I'll do something as simple as that to showcase the fabric itself.
Wishing all a very good relaxing Sunday.
I know one way to wake up Sleeping Beauty.. I'll offer pizza for lunch!
Hey Pegi.. WM doesn't advertise close outs. It's all set up by individual stores. We were lucky that we're in there yesterday.
There was a 75% close out sale on laptops which Kel didn't tell me about. He was right there when it happened. But he thought he could return the following day and have me decide on one! Wrong, they're all gone!
Oh.. MIL just called Kel and needs him right away as Murdock's not doing good.
Sending prayers Jaye!
Thanks LK. I asked the Lord to ease Murdock's fears.
We all can't escape death, but I guess when the time comes, we might react differently no matter how assured we are of our reunion with the Lord.
Praying for Mudock and Kel. Praying for peace for both of them....
Pegi, I forgot to add that you have a beautiful old Lenox dinnerware. MIL's china pattern is "Autumn". 11 years ago she decided to get rid of her sets as she was tired of them. She gave all but one to her only niece.
Well at least Kel got the only serving platter :D.
Thank you Barb. That's what they need the most. Kel has already accepted the inevitable.
Sending prayers for Kel and Murdock. Dealing with same issue here......mom keeps saying she does not want to die. We have been here for about an hour and a half and she is difficult to rouse. Eating very.very little. Thanks for all your prayers! Managed to connect to web at nursing home with my nook.
Sending prayers for you too Marion! ((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))
Keeping you and yours in my prayers as well Marion. May He grant you peace and strength....
(((((Marion))))
Keeping you and you mum in my thoughts and prayers.
Murdock get to live for another day. Don't mean to sound crassy. The man is too scared to sleep and that's working against all the treatments he's getting. Kel is with him at the oncologist...
But last night, Murdock for once, had a very sound sleep. Thank you sistahs for your prayers. They do work. As Kel had a very good rest too.
I'm not saying anything else. Too much anger in me now, and I don't want to say something I might regret later.
So.. gonna weed in the blistering wind. Those dandelions grow too fast. Got briars to kill and fertilize the fruit trees. Apple blossoms are on the tree already! That's fast!!
Pegi, do you want my old camera, Samsung? It's a 14 mega pixel. I don't have the accessories to go with it, all you need is a memory card. I don't too much care for it as it's zoom lens go up to only 5X. Plus it's PINK!! (hence never to be seen in public) Don't laugh sistahs...
Easy to use. I'll write down simple instructions.
I'll send it to you gladly.
Morning Jaye, glad to hear Murdock and Kel got a good nights sleep!
Kel just called asking prayers to be continued.. Murdock's oncologist discussed with his physician and agreed that Murdock need more special attention.
Murdock is right now in ICU. His heart rate is at 190 and fluids found in the lungs.
Thanks sistahs.
prayers for Murdock, and kel. yopu to jaye, and marion of course
Thanks for letting us know Jaye, sending lots of prayers!
Kathy, how is the moving going?
Hugs and well wishes for Marion and family, and for Jaye, Kel and Murdock.
Keep thinking of Sass / Aryica today too.
Just read on Facebook, that she delivered her little boy!
That is good news indeed.
Ayrica certainly has a miracle baby.
Read that Marion's mum is getting weaker on FB. If you're just lurking Marion, we're still praying for your mum.
Thanks sistahs for your prayers. Murdock's heart rate is down to 120. He's of course not released yet. Murdock insisted on returning home, but with him not sleeping at night, that's not gonna happen!
I don't know what other sedatives the doctor would try on him.
Kel's brother will be coming down tomorrow to help out. Finally..
Got home, and found my cats, Cupcake and Babs, trapped in a laundry basket, which was wedged between the washing machine and the wall!!
Second picture is Nubie. It has fattened up and no more pure black. The red is showing regally.
Beautiful baby boy!! His name is bigger than he is right now but I'm sure he will grow into it.......
congratulations Ayrica and family....
What a beautiful baby boy!! My granddaughter told me they are giving babies 3 names now. My g-grandson, who will be 4 in Nov, is named Seth Charles Patrick.
Oh Jaye, I would love to have your old camera. I'll gladly pay postage on it. Pink, huh. I like pink, my mom's favorite color and she looked wonderful in it. I think my son got his Cannon from Walmart on one of those good deals several years ago. I'm going to learn one of these days how to burn my pictures on CD's. Always afraid I'll do something wrong and mess up the computer.
Our weather has been very warm, just heard from friend in Minneapolis that they got more snow. I just hope they don't get flooding like Mississippi.
Thanks LK! Gavin is beautiful.
Sue, I do hope your days are wonderful and of course productive.
Have you heard from Cookie?
I got a nice picture postcard from our Stacey. Her daughter's so cute!
You got it Pegi. Would mail it to you when Kel's off on Thursday. He'll have a little time to make a detour to the post office. Just enjoy the camera, it's very easy to use.
I even put fresh batteries in it.
Ha! Everything has a reason and this pink is finding a new home!
One of my old friend's name is Kerry James Matthew Alexander. He's from New Orleans. When asked why such a long name, he said his mother is a Royalty buff/fanatic and believes that her 'princes' have those long names!!
He said too that the only time those names were ever uttered was when she want to make a statement!!
Another day of nothing beyond the ordinary for Kel. He didn't pressure me into visiting his dad.
Marion, if you're lurking... at least Sue is different from Kel's brother. BIL is here but truly isn't very helpful. MIL still depends on Kel.
That said, Kel is aware that he may have to take 2 weeks off.
Last night, my church sister uncannily paid me a visit. Asked her opinion what I felt about not attending their funerals.
This lady who taught bible class for years said there's nothing in the NT about visiting the deceased! Unless I can raise them.
I just don't want to be bitter about this, so I think I'll take a Xanax!!!
Weather's too beautiful to be indoors. Gonna set an area for more bulbs.
Kel called.. it's been decided that FIL had to be admitted to Hospice care.
Sending prayers for all Jaye! Not an easy decision to make! Hope that Kels Brother is helping calm MIL!
