lol Betty - of course you have to have the mineral deposit below where you're driving, in order to use it........ otherwise it will sit there like a Lump!
Okay, place your order with me - only 3 trillion $ at the moment LOL
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?
Ouch, don't know if I want one that bad. Melanie and Greg dropped in, saw Kyle here..we had a nice visit..they had been to Toronto, supper and afternoon movie so were tired and didn't stay long. Greg and Kyle went downstairs and lowered the quilting fame for me, kept telling him to do it another day but no he had to do it tonight.
So now I'm off to bed before more company arrives..
Loved both of those video's.
Good luck on the lotto tonight Betty.
I was teasin' about the price, Betty lol
I have NO idea what it would sell for, but if you sent ME the $$, I'll figure it out ROFL
New sewing room is put together. Here is the link.

Now to put everything back in it!!!
Morning all,
Was a winter wonderland when I got up, now starting to melt.
Barb, went to ohh and ahh at your new set up..you will now be so organized and everything at your fingertips you will never want to leave your sewing room. norm is such a pet..he knows what makes his sweetie happy..give him a hug for me.
just got back from Walmart, cheques my tickets, no go..thin 3 or 4 won it, nice to see that happen..Darlene won $30, will have to call and tell her.
Bought a 96 3/4" inch rod for the quilting frame, will roll batting on it, did groceries and home.. Called Greg and made him an offer, not sure he and Mel will take me up on it..after taking the boys to the islands at Christmas their travel fnd is depleted..that and paying for Kyle's college deposit..knowing how they want to go to Jamaica with 40 others for Cindy's wedding I offered to pay half, early Christmas gift for he and Mel and his birthday gift..said there would be no 'big' gift if the took me up on the offer..they will think about it!
Off to vacuum then try to finish the Periwinkle quilt I need for mid May re Cindy's wedding.
Just got a call from ex-daughter-in-law, she is such a pet!!
Lisa asked if I would like to have the children's jersey's, hockey sweaters to make them a quilt for Christmas, said I'd love them..then she went n that the boys favorites are their rag quilts but now they are over 6" are a bit short..told her to send them and I'll add a few rows of neutral color to them so that they can cuddle..
Got off and was on a high..she was telling of the great things the boys are accomplishing
Braedon, in the honor role, top of his Class
Going to the Algonquin area camp he's been to since childhood now organizing and in charge of 2 -30 day canoe trips and portages, food dropped in by helicopter (there goes his summer)
Last weekend got his Bronze Medallion as needed for camp counsellor
Yesterday won their Championship hockey cup
Leaving next week for New York City, bands from all over attemp, some competition, he plays trumpet, only trumpet player in the band
Then I marked down dates for Caleb's graduation, then is confirmation..
1st summer he will be in camp the entire summer..usually it's for 6 weeks.
This camp has participants from all over the world, they've had the opportunity to be amongst childre of movie star and royalty and realize they Re just kids such as they.
It sure feels good to talk to Lisa (teacher) and hear her heart felt pride in her boys.
So glad the divorce never made a difference in our relationship..Lordy that was 12 years ago..time flies..
Back to house cleaning so I can play
Maybe I shouldn't answer the telephone so I can get something done. Lol
Hello everyone! Just popping in while I can. Finally have hydro after over 60 hours of being without, Of course I had loaned out my generator to a friend in construction so had no back up. Lots and lots of ice, lots of trees down.
Waiting for the water to heat up so I can have a shower. Will be back later to catch up.
Dianne
Thought if you Dianne when they were showing photo's and saying many were without power..Lordy, what on earth can you do without power during that many days..read, sleep and put a log on the fire from time to time.
Thanks goodness it's on the cool side so some may not lose all their food.
Did your friend not call to ask if you might want the generator back??
Let's hope it's the last time and spring will bring no storms for you to be out of power.
I'm on a cooking frenzie..thought I'd call and have the family over for supper, Mel had pork chops out but it didn't take her long to say they can be put in the refrigerator for tomorrow night..lol
Bread maker is on, let's hope it does it's thing, always have problems getting the milk to exactly 80 degrees..here is hoping meat thermometer can be used for liquid mixture..have lemon bars cooking, made a dish of pizza dip, just need to put it in the oven later..roast goes in at 2 and the chicken Alfredo at 3 so if I'm a good girl and don't get waylaide in the craft room I will be A-ok otherwise out comes the fire extinguisher right Debbie
Betty - wow, Lisa IS a pet........... and so proud of her boys/your GSs!!
How nice to be able to add extra rows for the boys' rag quilts! They'll appreciate the length, I'm sure
:-)
Betty - I never heated the milk before putting in the breadmachine. If called for, it was room temperature, otherwise straight from the fridge. Does your recipe book say 80F?
YOU? waylaid?? NEVER!! lol
Dianne! Good to see you :-)
Happy to hear you have your hydro back siiiiiiiiigh such a long time! Was this just your heat, and/or water? I know in Manitoba it was our water AND our heat because it was water generated, thus Hydro......
Although the sun is shinning strong through the window it's quite chilly outside..luckily we have very few hydro interruptions in our region. Mice storms though do tend to do most of the damage.
Yes Susan, my recipe says 80 degrees..more than that stunts the yeast...we'll see..used meat thermometer, just not sure seeing its a meat thermometer that its the same for liquid..I imagine 80 is 80 right.
I've gotten up 3 or 4 times to head downstairs and said 'self don't do it' lol
Will make for a long afternoon. Wonder where my timer is??
A candy thermometer would work as well - might have lower temp markings than meat thermometer?!?
Any of my recipes keep the liquid and dry separate, so I put in liquid, then dry, make a well (indent) in the last dry (usually flour) and pour the yeast into the dry well........
But I know that other recipes call for the dry first......... each bread machine is SO different.
Let us know (in about 3 1/2 hours?) when it's done - my nose is ready to sniff the air to smell fresh baked bread!!
Good Morning!
hey, what happened to my post from other day?? Well phooey, must have gone into cyberland!!
OMG, so much to catch up with again!
Debbie, you and Paul are sure going to town with the renovations! Sounds like you are making great progress too, yep I know exhausting. Hahaha, on the call from the Doc!!
Oh Betty, How great the the quilts are! Lots to play with, with your quilting frame, so glad you got it adjusted. I am always thrilled to see how the grands are doing! I think it is so sweet your exDIL keeps you informed, sure sounds like you both have a great deal to be proud of...Awe, you are a sweatie!!
Oh yippeee Barbara!! New craft room getting organized. Love the new Cabinet!! Sounds like you have great plans for the craft room, sure hope you share pics of it all set up...and in no time you'll be back to sewing up a storm. You still preparing for garage sales?
So was Sean able to play his first game, how did they do? Ohhh, and how was Brandons first Horse competion?? Hope both went well.

Good Luck Susan on the interview!!
Moonbeam, sure hope the visit is going great!
Ohh yay, Linda Kay, so glad you got my envelope! whew, sorry that took so long.
Oh my gosh, how funny you should ask about Liz. We were able chat on Friday!! Was very cool to hear her voice and laugh and vent!! They are insanely busy, still waiting to find out about house, granny doing ok, but she hasn't been able to visit her in person for a bit...Liz and Kenny are both well, just working crazy hours, been looking for other housing as a just in case, keeping different options open.
Mary, How are you?? Hope to see you soon!! Oh my talked with Moonbeam beginning of the week and we both still chatting excitedly that we all were able to meet up!
OK...so, i have been trying hard to tell of some of my news.
Love the list idea that Betty did so because i am pressed for time, will update you on me/us in the same fashion...
LOL, if I can do short and sweet...uh huh, i see you giggling.
Julia...Doing very well, As of Friday no longer works at UPS. She continues to work at home goods, applied for a full time position as the store coordinator!
She has also lost 25+ lbs, looks and feels incredible. (she does the weight watcher method), very excited to have an actual night life again. David is doing well, still working both jobs, maybe we will see them later today.
Sabrina...LOL, was fired from Home goods, ack...she is ok with that, didn't like it there anyway. She has been promoted at Staples to store coordinator, very happy about that. Continue going to Harper College and is enjoying hr classes, just general ed.
Jacob...It seems time is going at lightening speed for him/us. Tadah, and we are so excited to say, he has been accepted to The Johnson & Wales University in Providence RI !!!! just received the accepted letter Saturday. They offer both Culinary arts and Wrestling, he is pretty excited, now to figure out how to pay for it!, OMG it is ex pen sive!!! Oh and How cool with help he received a 3000.00 per year Scholarship at Fccla to help with that, big happy smile with that, so our channels are shifted to searching for Scholorships and funding help, lol so not fun....he applied for a job at the Steak & shake, interviewed and was going to be hired directly to the grill. Lost out when he told them he was going to College in RI in the fall...poo! But it was an excellent boost in his confidence and a great first interview...oh and he has that competition coming up.
Babe's (DH) has been very busy, long long hours...Getting ready for deck season...Will be working on MIL Bathroom, (project was a Christmas present) Currently seeking another property to work on, NOT going to help with this one, lol tired of working hard for free, lol my doing the office work is one thing, projects are another. h is enjoying that hot tub, and really needs the good relaxing soak. Got the King (harley road king) home and in the Harport, first nice day he'll be out for a nice ride...Friday we celebrated our 28th anniversary. went to a cheap dinner! Should have stayed home, he was in a mood and our dinner companions was a family of 5 all at the table cell phones in hand, wow just weird! Went to a Bennihanna type place. will need this computer soon, so going to make it short.
me, well just staying pretty busy, getting this in order, or keeping them in order. Was very happy to talk Barb,Linda Kay Moonie and of course Liz this week.
Chatted with brother over old family photos, nice to hear them laughing over there. Kids are doing great. OH goodness, talked to my friend Dianne, she calls when she needs to vent, omg feel bad for all the issues she's facing...Tore apart my craft area in search for employment stuff...hoping to land an interview this week. Got my interview clothes ready...lol, so since everything on the table again, sorted and organized that...lol at least it a start! Working on my bhouse for swap that Im late with....longing to work outside, soon, very soon! Oh also, still trying to get accustomed to working this computer, But I've been able to work the Word docs, re-entered some major files...
I guess that it, dh needs the computer.
hope you enjoy the day!
boy am I glad that my DH has his own computer......... lol
WELLLLL hello Judy, where does one start??
Tell hubby to find another upgrade in Opah's building and never mind taking on 'fix' it house..too much stress for you both involved in that.
Can see you are gung ho trying to find employment, Lordy university is just so expensive you will need to find one. Has he any idea where he shall live? Won't that be some change for him and you both. Tell him congratulations..tell him my next trip to Glenview will have to include a meal cooked by him so I can say 'I knew that world renoun chef just before he got famous! either that or I will be invited to a pro wrestling match!'
Julia must look like a fashion plate July..Sabrina fired? What is with those employers, don't they know a good worker when they see one..glad she found something she likes...
that's a lot of weight loss..kids today have such busy schedules, keeps them out of mischief though.
Oops bread is ready to take out and pizza dip in a few minutes..I've done great so far don't want to screw it up at this point
Be back when cooking is under control. Lol

Judy, can hear both you and Liz just chatting a mile a minute, barely giving each other a chance to speak..glad Liz and Kenny are dong well..must be overwhelming for them not knowing about the house..let's hope it get settled one way or the other so they know what is happening with their lives...glad grannie is doing well, know Liz worries.
By the way happy anniversary, seems like yesterday you were celebrating your 25th.
Greg is at the shop dong repairs to Kyle's jeep..let's hope it's going well and we'll not eat at midnight..wouldn't you know, everythink cooked to perfection and no eaters. Lol. My fault, didn't say what time..oh well, microwaves are great..tempted to slice into that loaf of bread though.
Susan, mine asks for milk/butter first, then flour, sugar and salt then yeast.
Been a good girl all day, only have 5 blocks to make and I'd be done with the periwinkle top..guess its safe to go downstairs
Omg guess who is on the phone and guess who is hinting about going to Buffalo
Susan when the hydro goes I lose everything - power, water, often phone and this time internet too. Thank goodness I do heat with wood as I was able to keep the house fairly comfortable. You sure miss the ceiling fans moving the air around though.Haven't checked the big freezer yet - as soon as I realized I was in for a long haul I Iayered blankets on top of the food and then a layer of bags of ice. That really helps.
Betty I read, stoked the fire and after the ice disappeared on Sat I walked DIesel several times. I got the lane ready for Hydro to come in - opened the gate and moved all the brush, limbs and a tree that had fallen on the lane. The last thing I wanted was for Hydro to get here and find out there were limbs and 1 tree on the lane. That crew would have to call in another crew to do the clearing and wood before they could start on the actual fixing of the downed wires. And for some reason I guess because I knew I couldn't do anything Diesel and I took several small naps. lol.
Hope your dinner turns out well Betty. SInce you are being so diligent I am sure it will be very tasty. Yum noodles alfredo - I just might be lazy and have the Michelina version for dinner tonight. I have had enough cheese, crackers and bread for awhile. Fortunately on Thurs I had bought a huge fruit tray so had lots of fruit to eat up. This particular tray had huge strawberries instead of watermelon included. Was concerned the strawberries would be woody as they were so large but they were delicious as was the pineapple. I find the pineapple in these fruit trays is often just this side of going bad but not this time.
Going to go back and read so I can catch up on everyone's news.
Dianne
Betty - mine is in the same order for the Breadmachine.
Dianne - I understand about losing everything with hydro. It's the way it was when I lived in Manitoba. Now I'm here in Alberta, I have electricity and heat with one company, and water with yet another. I Could have heat and electricity with 2 different companies, but it's cheaper to "bundle" them.
This way if one goes I don't necessarily lose everything.
Once, when my gas line was punctured (no idea how....) they came out and replaced the line and I think I got reimbursed for the difference it Should have cost me. Not sure though....can't tell, the way their billing is set up lol
Dianne, so glad you have your hydro back on, that is a long time to go with out heat and water. And you should not have moved that tree by yourself, that is a lot of work.
Hey Judy, sounds like your all keeping busy, good luck finding a job. Congrats to Jake getting accepted to college, it is a long distance, but he will enjoy it. Hard to believe how fast they growing.
Barb, love how your room is looking, very nice!
Barb - what a wonderful sewing room! I may have said it before, in another thread, but really - Wow!
Long day, family were off to dairy queen, this grandma just wants to go to bed..
Will gab in the a.m.
Didn't get all the details but Sharon had posted on Facebook:
Brag time: Inuk took his 4th American National today in Perry GA.. and Ember went BOW to finish her championship.
Mary/Mary it's been days since you posted, p,ease let us now you are well.
Deb where have you been?
Dianne, going back to read your post..
I am here, just still cleaning and tired out. Had Shannons friend over for dinner so long day.
Tomorrow afternoon is doctors appointment for her throat.
wtg Sharon! She must be very proud of herself, and Inuk!
Debbie - will keep Shannon in my thoughts tomorrow, as always....
Thank you Susan. Appointment isn't until 1:30, so we might go to book store or some place early to occupy our minds.
Have you seen that storm coming across North Dakota, Minnesota & Michigan....I hope it fizzles out before it reaches Canada
and NY. It looks massive, and has North Dakota roads closed down.
No, I hadn't - mind you, I've been paying attention to the winter storm we've been having here in Alberta. Boy, What a lot of snow. There was 4" on top of my car and down the sides and back.
Took me 15 minutes just to clear it off before I went out this afternoon!
Good morning! And 4" of snow is nothing!!! Better with 12 - 16" right Debbie??? Just joshing with you Susan. Sometimes a little snow is worse that a lot.
Dianne, we had no idea things were that bad up there. I'm so glad to hear you are okay and that Diesel took good care of you.
Today is tax day here in the states and I hope all are done. It is also a good day for discounts with a lot of vendors. Keepsake is offering 15% off and I have an order to place with them. I must check out some of the other vendors.
I started to put things back into the new sewing room yesterday. I swear it is going to take me all week!! Not really but it sometimes feels that way...
.
Off to the Doctor this morning to get recertified for my oxygen useage. Must be done every six months in order for Medicare to pay for it.....
Hitting the shower. Be back later. Have a great day all~~~~~~~
4" is all that was on top of my car, and it's in a sheltered spot. We actually had 8-12" of snow......
Morning all,
Calling for double digit weather the next 4 days then possible snow on Friday..you got to wonder when it will ever end.
Barb, gives you an opportunity when putting everything back to take inventory of what you have and what you don't.. can see you smilling as you take things out of the boxes..am I to assume then that you've decided to stay where you are? Barb, terrible how they make you jump hoops to get Medicare to pay..any fabric shops along the way??? lol
Prayers Debbie/Shannon on the doctor appointment today..sure hoping you get good news.
On the dizzy side this a.m. so going to sit and watch a movie although I did bring in scraps to organize and figure out how to make use of them, I'll leave them in the bag for a bit.
Morning everyone! Betty, sorry to hear your dizzy. Please call the Dr. There may be something going on you're not aware of, that the Dr's have missed, you need more test!
Congrats to Sharon and Inuk, we are all so proud of them!
Praying that all of you up north get warmer weather soon!
Debbie, good luck at the Dr this afternoon.
Barb, I am medicare also, and I know what a pain in the but it is to jump through hoops to get meds or equipment you need!
I finally got my tattoo finished.
ohhh love the 'tatoo'..have to send photo to Julie who loves tatoo's
Good morning,
Linda Kay that is very pretty!
Total chaos here, pulling up the carpet was not the best idea as the cats now think it is an actual race track
and sound like small cows racing through the house! Birds are at the feeders so they are going from one window
to the other.
Betty, Linda Kay is right. It is time to follow up at the doctors. Remember your kidney values were off....and you were supposed
to be rechecked every so often. AND your blood pressure??? March young lady! LOL
I wanted to pop in and say good morning really quick. Lots to do today and going to be a long one! Doctors office is in the
middle of a road construction zone up near Strong. New office we havent' been too yet.
I will let you all know how it goes when we get back. Won't be til late afternoon!
Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine if you can
Bessie Lou....call the doctor!
Praying for you, Debbie.........
Well, I am recertified for 02 use. Notice I did not say certifiable!!! BUT there are times I probably am.
Keeping you and Shannon in my prayers today Deb. Hope all goes well.
Off to work restocking my quilt room with all the "stuff" I took out of it last week!!!!
I'm certifiable.............. !!
Glad it went well Barb, didn't take a whole lot of time.
Prayers for our Deb (Depsi) who just got out of the hospital with Kidney problems..hoping she'll drop in with a high when she is feeling a tad better.
Sitting here cutting, just sewed 30 squares for the start of step 2
Off to iron
Sending positive thoughts and prayers to our Depsi.
Also sending them to you Debbie and some patience to get through the construction zone as easily and quickly as possible.
All this forced idleness has made me lazy.... I don't have the energy to start anything. Worked outside for a couple of hours and with Diesel's help managed to get 1 corner of the old wood pile emptied and raked. I will have to borrow a pickup to get some of this junk to the dump. Some of that area has not seen the light of day in 4 - 5 years so I am sure I heard a huge sigh of happiness when I got all the leaves and bark raked off of that corner.
BBL
Dianne
You are ambitious Dianne..glad you have Diesel to help! Sunshine and double digit temps in your area?
Are you able to burn in your municipality? Not sure what I shall do in my area seeing I'm always burning..as far as garbage, more than 1 bag you have to buy a tag for $2.00, not overly costly but none the less each year they increase fees and lessen services.
Don't overtire yourself.
Love the tat LK. Colours are wonderful.
It was a gorgeous day today. Making up for the terrible weather. Isn't it funny how easily you forget how ticked off you were at the WLs once the sun is out and shining? Worked outside for another couple of hours this afternoon - moving slow but sure and trying to keep up my end of the bargain with Katie about not taking a tumble. Diesel was absolutely no help this afternoon, he just wanted to play.. Darn puppy! Hopefully he has worn himself out chasing after leaves and sticks so will sleep tonight. All the ice is out of the lake. Our bay is the last area to have ice and today our dock is floating free.Wooo hooo!
Yes Betty we can burn but only when there is a green flag. If the FD is called out when the red flag is flying you are responsible for the costs of the FD and the OPP who attend as well as being levied a fine.We pay for garbage PU once a week and get 50 tags when you pay your March tax bill. If you need more tags you have to purchase them at $2.00 per I think. They get really stricit about burning in the summer as we have so many campgrounds in this area. The FD advises you to have at least 3 responsible people there while burning plus a source of water to put out a fire if it spreads. You are also expected to inform your neighbours you are burning. So all in all the township keeps you on a really tight leash when it comes to burning.
When is Jake's prom Judy? What a sweet way to ask his date. Hopefully you will be able to take lots of pics Prom night and can share the with us.
Barb your room is going to be spectacular!! You are never going to want to come out of it.
BBL
Dianne
Please turn on your news station on tv. There has been several explosions at the Boston marathon, with several killed and dozens seriously injured. They have already said it was bombs, not a gas leak or anything like that. So sad to,see the damage as it comes on the air.
