Betty - siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh............ Moms - gotta love 'em, cuz no one else will lol
I guess I missed the "no, I'm not going to Buffalo" conversation from your mom - thought you were going, until I saw your post this am. Now..... you're going again. Bless you, Betty!
I have an 11am app't this morning - disability agency (Prospect) called yesterday to apologize that it had been 2 weeks since she saw me and it should have been earlier. She wants to go over my resume, and help me "tweak" it. My DD helped me on Wed, and I'm getting so tired of so many different opinions on how long/what I should or shouldn't include, etc, etc. My DD had said "last 3 years" and I haven't had perm work in last 3 years...... (good Lord, has it been That long?!).
Told Laura (agency rep) that I'm feeling old and unemployable. She said that's certainly Not the case. She's going to try to introduce me to an Employee Matching rep, who will help me find a job.
We'll see what happens today - I'll let you know.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends
Wouldn't that be wonderful Susan if it came to pass.
I've never had a resume so cant help you there.
Aunt Muriel just dropped in, she is such a pet..
Going to sit down for lunch..haven't called yet for room , thought I'd wait till supper time so that if I get another call changes won't have to be made
So Betty did you tell Aunt Muriel even though you were warned not to that you and your mam are shuffling off to Buffalo tomorrow? Maybe you need her around for your sanity on this trip. I am waving my finger at you Betty 'cause I woke up to bright sunny skies and now it is dull, grey and threatening rain. You sent me your weather. I am supposed to have rain and snow flurries off and on all weekend. The snow in my gardens will never melt at this rate.
Whew Katie I am so relieved to read you are OK after your encounter with a big rig. Sending lots of positive thughts and hugs that you will not feel any worse for wear today after your crash. Sometimes it takes the body a few days to decide if it wants to hurt you or not.
On the hunt for a steam cleaner for my hardwood floors. Anyone here own one or used one? Tell me your thoughts please.
My Shirely it is so good to see you poking your face in here!
Safe travels LK.Hope there is nice weather for the event.
Got all of my stuff ready for the accountant to do our taxes. I have this feeling 1 of us will have to pay a nice chunk to the governemnt. Grrrrr! I just told Karen my accountant to just work her magic!
Mary sorry your stepDD did not get the job but she really got some positive feedback when they told her to try out in another city. Also she can never say she should have tried out because she did.
Judy how are things with you? Very nice David is joining your family - always nice to have a computer geek in the family.
Have been enjoying doing some Doodle Art this week. Obviously Diesel did too as I found 1 of my special irridescent pens all chewed up on the floor by the front door. Plus there is a teal irrid spot on the floor near the door. I am sure in another life he was a sneak thief. Man is he fast and he sure knows how to hide whatever he has taken from you. Going to try some vinegar on the floor where the ink is first before I go all hog wild trying something weird and wonderful to remove the ink. I can't remember if I told you but 1 of the smaller posters was one Santa Warren and I did way back in 1972.
Debbie is Miss Izzy still being a little 'mouthy' today? Do you want Diesel to come play with her?
Depsi have you have a chance to hear Joe's show that you taped?
Really toying with getting another pup to keep Diesel company. Please someone make a logical argument about why I shouldn't get another puppy!!
Back in a bit.
Dianne
Ohhh lordy Dianne, what to say what to say...hmmm, on those days that you aren't feeling the best and it's difficult to take Diesel for his walks, he walking you much of the time vs you walking him, worried that you will fall and injure yourself (hips are fragile) what would you do with 2 running circles around you??? Am sure someone Dianne will be much more creative.
As for the steamer, I just use the swifter, vaccum and mop..don't put steam to the interlock flooring as they say it will warp. You had to mention floors right, now I have to go upstairs and wash them lol
Can feel it getting colder outside, should turn up the furnace..watch me end up in Buffalo and get snowbound..shaking my head 'no,no,no'
Believe I'm in for a nasty surprise re taxes as well..not looking forward to it..will go next week one night and drop them off.
Trying to think of something to take the ink stain out....do you have any 'wet ones' or maybe alcohol? I used to use wet ones all the time when I was decorative painting
Send Diesel over to Aunt Debbie & Izzy....he always has a home here. My God dog is loved well.
We were told no steam on our floors either as it will lift the top of the interlock and warp as Betty said. Moisture under the "seal" But can't remember your type of flooring.
Temps are quite cool here, supposed to be 50...but they lied last two days.
Dianne, we paid hefty....going to hit us for the next year to make up what we had to put out, then will likely do it again since
no more college or kids to claim. DH had the roll over with his change of jobs...and although we didn't pocket any of it, it showed
income over the top and did us in.
Never used steam on hardwood...... as Betty said - only Swiffer solution meant for hardwood.
My daughter just got a dog for her dog......... Yoda (pug) was feeling stressed, and got quite sick the other week because of acid in his tummy. So they got a smaller dog for company for Yoda. She said "I got a pet for our dog........." and she says it's as funny as it sounds lol Kinda like Goofy and Pluto........
Not saying "get another dog" as these 2 are small dogs that my DD and DSIL have......... you sometimes have trouble walking the Big Dog Diesel.........
My mom is moving to the Intermediary Care Home next Thurs, April 11th. Hope my DD can help. Will almost feel like I'm there helping.........
Debbie, let's hope the spring weather in your neck of the woods is on for tomorrow!
You will feel better Susan once your mom is settled in. Likely she'll have more help than needed..know my mom would lol (I'm being bad)
My brother and 2 sisters will be going over her stuff and packing what she'll need. My DD wants to help, too.
My DBIL (Bob) will be assisting, so he and Stan will be doing the heavy lifting. Yes, my BIL is Bob, as is my DH lol Good thing I don't have 2 BILs named Bob - I did, once upon a time lol
Well, we made the trip to Austin just fine, this town is just crawling with hot rods.
Dianne, I don't kmow about ink on wood floors, but hairspray works well on cloning to get ink out.
Phone just rang, saw it was mom, tempted not to newer but did, she was confirming what time I would be at her house..
Hope you brought your camera LindaKay.
Heck - I might have tempted to answer with "Train Station" and see what she says LOL
Lol..
Wonder how Katie is doing??

Convinced the hubs we needed to go to the garden store!! We made another topsy turvy pot pole.moved a few things around a bit.started to clean out one of the ponds....what a mess, we did not do anything with it all of last year.
Posting from my phone. I think one of the photos is sideways! ?!! Just don't understand why that happens with this phone?? When I see them in my gallery, they look to be in the same direction. Then I post, and some turn...sorry.
When I open it Thnder it's the right angle. You have been busy..thought you were going to sew and hubby and son were going to help out with yard duty..couldn't stay inside right? Lol
I have 2 frames I soldered using copper and copper fittings..should make another also..they are so pretty when plants are mature.
Love your garden area!
Guess I should be getting ready for bed, morning comes early.
Thunder - 1st one is right side up, the 2nd one is on it's side.......
I love those topsy-turvy pots!! Looks so cool!!! :-)
How odd, on iPad they both open right side up..
I did not do much outside, supervised a little here and there.....hoping to find some more sweet potato vines, got the only two they had. the bright green ones, would like a few variegated, and a few of the burgundy ones. but it is early in the season, so I am hoping I will be able to get some more...Pollen counts are getting lower and lower.....so pretty soon I will be able to get out there and help a little.. :)
it is April .....Means baby Ryleigh only has about 6 more wks to "cook" hoping she does not decide to come early......if she does, Daddy may not be there for the event....he is away right now, and should be back sometime next week. Has to be away again for a week or two end of April...Yikes !!!
Bet you are anxious Thunder! Hard when dad travels, not sure of how I would have taken Roger being away during births, it that men were allowed near birthing room, how things have changed.
Keep thinking you should have flowers/vines in abundance at this time of year with not having winters such as ours. Love all the varieties of potato vine and they are spectacular in the topsy turvey pots. I should look to see if I've a photo of mine from last year.
You are being smart not playing outside with your allergies..
I am quite anxious this time around, as my son has been doing a lot of traveling lately, and she has NO ONE close by !!! my fear is she will have to have Malena at the hospital with her, until some one can get there??!!! waiting for her next DR appt. hoping they will give a specific date, and I can put in for time off at work... Have to talk to her again, and see if she wants us there a few days before, or more days after???? Son was going to take 10 days of leave, after we leave, but he may not be able to do that now??? Her Mom only wants to stay one night, passing by on her way further north.
I am VERY allergic to oak !!!! and you saw my huge trees!!! the allergy to the oak sets off my asthma...not a good thing at all. I do like to breathe :)
soooo I just stay inside as much as I can, use AC in the truck, instead of opening windows.....lasts three or four weeks, then I am ok to get out there and help....
Thunder - I'm not surprised you're anxious. Does she not have any really good friends who will come stay with her to help with Malena? I hope that the Dr can give her a more specific date so you can arrange your time off to be with them.
How's Daddy doing, being away? I imagine he's anxious too.........
Her Mom only wants to stay one night? Has she flight arranged that can't be changed??? Otherwise, I just don't understand it.....
Did your sailor-boy re-up? I take it that this is the last 7 years?
Yes, stay inside, away from those oak trees! Breathing is good!
Praying that Ryleigh will be born on her daddy's schedule.......
morning's all, just walking out the door...yawnnnn
Thunder, know its no consolation at all, but rarely are there complications with childbirth but one always worries. Ryley is also anxious to see her dad, she will wait...
Allergies, I see how they affect Suzanne who has similar with oak trees here..she is suffering terribly..look after you, good excuse to sew!
Shuffling off to Buffalo, may the Lord grant me patience
Where are you all?
I'm here, but have been re-sandwiching my quilt, and doing some housecleaning......
oh my aching knees from going down on the floor to do the quilt........ I'm taking a break
Enjoying my day, we just ate at Bob Evans...in our room for a rest..just getting ready to go out for a few hours then will call it a day. Won't be a late day tomorrow, I'm hoping to be home by 2 tomorrow which means I would have to leave by 10
Rest those knees Susan!
Thanks Betty.
I wish there was some other way to do this..........
Glad you're enjoying your day!
Now, need to make 2 loaves of bread for communion tomorrow - breadmaker hooray!
Soldiers last seven years. I am not worried about birth complications...she is having a c-section, just worried that there will not be anyone there to be with Malena...if she goes into labor early, and Daddy is away......
when I had all three of mine, hubs was a truck driver, occasionally away for a few days at a time, always quite a few miles away......butttttt we had people, friends and family not to far away.....some how it worked out he was there for all three!!!
tho he did have to get the police to drive him to the hospital for # 1. I was at Dr. Appt and he said go check yourself in...this kiddo is coming today!! so I said I needed to call the hubs....I had the car, he had motorcycle.
it started pouring like crazy.....and he would have gotten drenched, figured he did not want to spend the day in the hospital soaking wet. so he called and asked if they could give him a ride!!! they got a big kick out of it at the police station, we had spoken to them prior about the possibility of giving me a ride if he was on the road.
Meg has no one close by, no -one she would want Malena to spend any length of time with. It will take us 8 - 9 hours to get there....
we will get something figured out, if we find out Daddy will be away.....
Sailor had to re enlist, when he started the officer training program that he is in, I think it was for 6 more years? 3 of which will be in Kansas in college. did I post a picture in his new uniform???
Susan, can't you put your quilt over a table to sandwich ?? on the deck maybe?? or what about at the church?? YIKES i'd never get any done if I had to do them on the floor!!!
I don't have a table big enough, and even at the church I put it on the floor.
My DH just brought me a 4" foam piece, and on that thought I went and got 2 more (12" that squishes down to 2")! It's better........
It's the way I've always done the pinning - tape the backing to the floor, then spray with adhesive, put the batting on, spray with adhesive, then put the top on......
Remember, my place isn't that big.......930 sq feet, with a den, bedroom, bathroom, hallway, kitchen & living room. Only kitchen (very small) has large enough space....... when I take apart/remove our dining room table.
yes, that it why I was thinking on the deck. I have done king size on one of those folding tables...not quite three feet wide by six foot long.... start in the middle, and work your way to one end, go back to middle, then go to the other end. I do it out in the yard, so the adhesive smell does not bother me.
even crib quilts do not quite fit on the table, sew I have to do those in a few sections too.
It's snowing today...... and a bit of ice fog to boot!
I wouldn't be able to work on the deck until approx late June.
Geeze - I DO have one of those folding tables. Dunno why I didn't think of it before......
Morning all,
just up, going for breakfast, mom has a few places she wants to go and pick up things then one final stop at Joann's and homeward bound
safe travels Betty.
Glad you had a good trip. Nice pics, but you can send a bit o'sunshine this way, LK. We are warmer, but the sun is hiding behind a bank of clouds.
We have wind storms, power out to the south west of us with trees down everywhere. It was starting to die down a bit but seems to be a "calm spot"
before more moves in.
I hope Betty gets home safe because its nasty even though the sun is shining.
She mentioned she thought she would make it home by 2 or so....hope she beats the bad wind and weather.
That started about 8:00 this morning, so I just hope it isn't her side of the border once she left.
Looks like there is a bit of wind her way also...
http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/caon0696
LK - are you red-skinned now from a sunburn?
Betty's a safe driver, but do hope she beats the wind......... it's nasty driving in a major wind!
We just got our hydro back on after being off for several hours. I fear it is a tentative fix though as the winds are strong and the lights are still flickering. Do hope Betty has a safe drive as she has to go over the Burlington Skyway and a bridge that just makes me quake at St Catharines. If there is wind I hope it is behind her and is giving her a gentle push. I am sure she just wants to get home and be quiet. Also have had some rain and ice pellets.
I am having a lazy, very lazy day today. Just being very quiet enjoying Diesel's and the cats' company. The house is a tip so will have to get myself into gear tomorrow first thing. I would be so embarrassed if someone walked in the front door right now.
Glaad you are home safe and sound LK and that you had a great time. Sounds like you had perfect weather for the event.
~~~ to everyone. Think I had better get off of here before I lose this post.
Dianne
