I am not sure. Trying to get the room finished and Shannon moved in there. Paul has to do
some work at his parents house also. I might "try" to throw a few meals together to put in the freezer
for his parents.

Trying to decide if I want to pick this weekend as the weekend to take mom and aunt Muriel to buffalo

Glenview, IL

Good Morning and good day!!

Happy Easter 2 days late, I just love all the pictures of the grands and family gatherings.

Looks like everyone had a great visit...
Big sigh, when we got home, posted from my tablet, as it was friday late evening, Saturday spent the day getting everything put away and laundry, not bad.
Kept reading and trying to get caught up with tabby, lol not easy to read and reread scroll up and down, yikes, I was exhausted, lol...So Dh finally gets on the computer to check his mails, and he is sitting in here (office) swearing and complaining at this new computer!! Thought he was missing out on some important thing, but it WAS the 'puter!! Couldn't read as everything was distorted, oh man I just wanted to cry... So after many failed attempts between all of us we gave up, deciding to wait for David to come on Easter.. He had to work until 4 in the afternoon, so wait continued, finally after he had Easter Dinner, he comes in...tap,tap,tap on the keyboard, nothing! after just a few minutes, it's quiet and he comes out and says ok back in business!! Woohoo, Thank you thank you, what did you have to do...So not funny, all he did was reboot the system!!! Man, shaking my head, I was going to text him,but thought I didn't want to bug him!! He said next time just txt, no problems. What a great future SIL....Sooo, Here I'm back I hope without any further complications!!!

Waiving hello and wish you all a great day!!

Waving Judy, can you see me...
Need you to come back now that you are back on-line and tell us all about your visit with Jean and Mary AND a bit about the NOLA visit. Soooo glad David got you up and running..give him a hug for us..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Shirley - SO good to see you posting.
Judy, Judy, Judy!! lol on the computer re-boot! I know you realized it's the "first lesson in computers" but sometimes we get so busy that the "easy" stuff is forgotten.
Bob's home again today. Doesn't need the dust from work to complicate his cold/sinuses!

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

what is NOLA?

Lyndonville, NY

Northern Louisiana I believe Depsi.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

New Orleans, Louisiana. NOLA.

Judy, so glad you're back online, please post pictures, and tell us of your trip!

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

ah, thank you very much !

Victoria Harbour, ON

I rarely use shortforms and I see that both Jean and Mary refer to the area as NOLA..thought I'd be smart and use it lol

Busy day at the office, have blocks for 1/2 quilt made so far today..maybe if Paul doesn't come in tomorrow I will get to finish the top..better than playing solitaire.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What quilt are you working on Betty?

Victoria Harbour, ON

had so many 5" black/white blocks that I thought I'd do a drop9 quilt block top..apparently I didn't have as much as I thought I did, only got 20 squares done and I need 48..guess I'll drop into Fabricland tomorrow and get a few 1/2 meters of light background with black..

tonight I'll press these I have, cut in 1/2 then 1/2 again and that will almost get me 1/2 way finished.

What are you doing today LindaKay..

Suzanne called me this morning and said she would pick me up..we are only a few miles from each other, with price of gas going so high we will try to take turns at least Monday-Thursday

time to head out,
gab when I get home

Drive safe Wind is picking up over here again. One minute snowing like a blizzard, next sun is out and nothing.

It can stop and bring on spring any time!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

It's 20c here right now.... 68F
Little bit of a breeze. I went for a 12 block round trip walk to the grocery store, and got a bit of a blister on my foot.
It sure was good to get out for a walk with no jacket! Just a t-shirt and pants. Guess my shoes weren't appropriate for walking distances though........

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Ouch, hope it is not a big blister.
Betty, I went to town this morning and had the tires rotated, and oil changed in the truck. Rest of the afternoon was being lazy. Cleaned up the house from this week end, I found confetti from the Easter eggs everywhere.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

It hasn't popped, but it's tender to walk on. It's on the ball of my foot.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Winds are terrible here as well, could feel Suzanne's car sway as some in some of the gusts..brrr
Haven't checked the weather for the weekend, surely we will get a bit of sunshine, at least I hope so.

Nice weather Susan..you'll have to spent those walking shoes out. That is quite a distance to travel on your first walk of the season. You'll be soaking them for sure tonight.

LindaKay, you just reminded me to make an appointment to have snow tires taken off..I will book it for a few weeks away as one never knows when there is one last blizzard. Always feels better to have all that done especially when you will be pullng a trailer shortly with hubby's toy.

Amazing when we have the family, clean and clean before they come and then have to do it all over again when they leave.

I had 18 (9 5" ) blocks sewn together at work today, came home and instead of sitting on the chesterfield I got pressed and cut..they look nice and will make a nice quilt top when sewn together. If I get more fabric in the morning likely by the time I come home I'll have all the blocks done. Have no idea what I shall do with it when quilted it I'm sure I will find somewhere to put it.

Suzanne came in for just a sec tonight to look at the quilting frame, doubt she thought it would be so big..

Debbie, how did Shannon make out today?

Well, if I have a quick bath before Ann comes to play t.v. Bingo then when she leaves I will be ready for bed.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Means Susan you will have to sit and sew more lol

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh no...... sit and sew.... moi? LOL sounds like a plan, but I need to do some studying. Have a chapter to read for Thurs am, on Revelations. Most difficult book in the bible, to understand lol

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, where do you get your energy! Wish I had your talent so much.

Shannon didn't get out of work til 8:30, came home and showered and is in bed. Her blood levels are
low still. Have a feeling if not better by weekend will start her back on shots. Shannon said Jeanna just happened
to show up while she was at work today. I think big sister was checking up on her to see if OK. I am just fine
with that.

Also got news DH has to go to Rhode Island for business on Monday for overnight trip to the big office.

Sweet dreams everyone...
Debbie

Good for Jeanna checking up on Shannon! I'm sure it set your mind at ease to know that Shannon was being looked after by her big sister!!!

Lyndonville, NY

I didn't find out til Shannon got home and "OH guess who I saw at work". BUT did make me feel good she did.

Baton Rouge, LA

Betty - you can use the "NOLA" lingo anytime.... it's common around here....but you are an adopted citizen.

Debbie... Love that big sis popped in on lil sis. And love that you "got a new DH!"

LOL HUGS all...

Yes Judy - you must tell all about your NOLA Trip !

Mary

Lyndonville, NY

ROFL Mary! Thanks...I fixed it. I don't need a new one, enough problems with the old one! lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning,

Does my heart good to see you posting Mary, are you still unwell?

Kudos Debbie to those girls of yours for checking in on Shannon. With Shannon having the rest of themweek off you can do what you do best, mother her! Am sure that Paul isn't thrilled at going to Rhode Island with so much on his plate right now.how's his project coming along?

Thought it was suppose to warm up this week but no sign of it, bitter/bitter cold!

Blizzard going on..yuk, so glad I have my snowtires on..hopefully it will stop this morning otherwise might not find my way home lol

Think Debbie might be getting the same??

I'm going to settle in then go over to Fabricland and pick up some of the white with black on it..it's one of those projects that you say "I'll use up what I have" then end up needed about the same to come up with a quilt top or throw!

On my today's agenda I will sew the blocks I cut last night into squares

What is on all your agenda today?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, if you have other fabrics, you could alternate one black and white, with a color?

Victoria Harbour, ON

could..was almost tempted to add red because of bedroom colors but would still mean purchasing more fabric sooo will stick to black/white..imagine the pattern will look jumbled but hey, it will be another pressie, can't ask for more than that..lol

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, love the black and white! Better hide that from my girl. lol Goes great with Missy too, I think she approves.

Shannon's room is ready to "move in" but DH was so tired last night he crashed in the chair and
took a much needed rest. He had to paint the floor by brush on hands and knees because it is so
old and deep cracks from floor boards. He was able to do the second coat with a roller.
I wish I had taken before pictures but will definitely do an after shot when it is together.

DH did take some convincing that it was OK to go to Rhode Island as Monday is the Cardio test.
I am nervous but will have Faith all will go well.

Not sure what doing today, probably moving bedrooms! lol

No snow here yet, but the weather radar doesn't look pretty. It is chilly out and the birds are eating
a full buffet out there, so I have a feeling bad weather is coming and they are stocking up.

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sounds as though Debbie you have the spring cleaning bug..good for you. Now are you moving bedrooms?

Told you, you MUST come for a weekend and we can have a 'sewing' day..we could make a throw for Shannon's bed. Sure hoping you have the Elvis Festival marked on your calendar for either you and Paul or the girls..no excuse now having no passport..know you have one..lol

I can imagine Paul would have rather stayed and gone with you, we'll keep you company in spirit..meeting is nothing to do with re-organization is it?

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, I told Paul to plan that time off. But right now all depends on Shannon's health and mine. I have another appointment
at Cleveland and as long as he doesn't want to do surgery, would love to be there with you.
Soon as I know what is going on with Shannon...will make plans!

Victoria Harbour, ON

not till end of July Debbie so will keep the bedroom all made up for you..lol

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

That B/W quilt is going to be Awesome, Betty - and now Missy will have one she can "hide" on lol

Today I'm adding yet another border on my queen bed quilt. The Lone Star, that is.
I have the batting and backing too, so should be able to get it sandwiched this weekend.

At 10 am I'm going to a Church service at a care home, then I'm back to do some sewing.
I did some studying last night, for tomorrow's Bible Study, THEN I Finished another of Paul Fleischman's books which I'll be sending to Thunder as the "next in line". Couldn't believe how quickly I read Seedfolks!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Talk about a busy girl Susan, keeping you out of mischief..looking forward to seeing the quilt top.

ANYBODY GOT VALIUM???? please/please

If you remember just before I left for Florida mom was putting a guilt trip on me saying NOBODY takes her anywhere, that she'd like to go to Buffalo one last time (right) that she and Aunt Muriel would drive there on their own but didn't know where to go shopping. Mom should not be driving around town and Aunt Muriel, well that's a lot to ask of an 84 year old so I told mom to wait till I got back and I'd bring them shopping..NEITHER of them need anything, really, nothing they couldn't buy here but they want to go.

Mom is a Sharon's today while her vehicle is being repaired..Sharon was on MSN saying that mom mentioned several times about my promise to take her to Buffalo..need my head read, told Sharon to tell her that the Hamburg Craft Show is on this weekend and that it's where the Casino is (both of which she enjoys) and I could take them either Friday afternoon, get there and shop a bit in the evening, then take them to CrackerBarrel for breakfast which they enjoy, then Hamburg for Craft sale and Casino, then the regular stores and come home Saturday night, or, leave Saturday morning early and come home Sunday afternoon...she is not happy, said they will go themselves, I needn't put myself out

Glenview, IL

Good Morning! What a beautiful sun shiny day...It is sooo nice to awake to all the chatter in my yard!! birds are busy, as are the squirrels and awe got my first glimpse of the little furball, our chipmunk! Lol at first glance thought it was a ball sitting on the deck, as I got closer he dashed into his hole and disappeared!!

Ok so now that Im back with a computer, Ive a lot of work ahead of me as far as re-creating documents, sigh.
OMG, I must be blind, I don't see a card reader port on the new hard drive!!

LOL, I had to Laugh as it took me the entire time to figure out what Nola was!! Kept seeing on establishments Nola this, Nola that, so racked my brain around until I figured that it stood for New Orleans Louisiana!! Haha, and I figured out the La first...

So, Our time in NOLA was incredible...Steve (DH) and i were amazed at the bridge crossing the Mississippi River and the Ponchatrain Lake, the bridge goes on and on and on for miles. We tried to wake the kids but they just slept away. Lol we've all decided that the NOLA highway system is just like being on a roller coaster, which made it kind of fun!! We stayed in a Row House on Magazine street. this was really neat because it was walking distance to the bus and trolly that takes you to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street! On the way, as you know we traveled to Mississippi arriving to house on Magazine street almost 3 hours early!! So we walked up Magazine street to a quaint little Cafe called Surrey's. That first day was delightfully sunny and we all loved shedding our jackets. We ended up waiting for almost an hour to be seated but it was well worth the wait!! Jacob was so enthused to write down the recipe as to what was on the sandwich.
After lunch we head back to the row house, not very impressed at the outside...lol but the owners are in the process of renovating and i do believe it has incredible potential...We had to wait just a li9ttle bit longer to enter as the cleaning crew was finishing up, so we sat on the front stoop, which we all loved watching the traffic up and down...which did include double deck tour buses!! Pretty neat. Wow!! What a house and it is indeed a Row House, very long. Ours, was a 2 story in which we stayed on the first level and had our very own courtyard. Upon entering the house, We had a large living room withe the kitchen in the center, then next to a large bedroom with a it's own door to the courtyard, bathroom a laundry room/closet. This room could be closed off with sliding doors...Sound nice? but wait there's more!! Continue on to another "apartment" a Second room, had a bed, couch, small desk, and a kitchenette. It too had a door leading to the courtyard. hahaha, so the kids decided the back room was to be ours, we didn't complain. OMG, in the second bathroom, was rather small but it had all the utilities, one that included the shower in the middle of the room!! Prior to this being a house, it was once A Cafe!! lets see, it was called Boulangerie Cafe Patisserie, the only clue, the sign hanging in the courtyard.

K, I have to go, be back in a bit!!

Blue bird babies in the house!!!

Don't know why these always post side ways..??

Ahhh, bet you wish you had inserted a window in that birdhouse so you could see them better..lol

Judy, love hearing about New Orleans and the French Quarter..as you talk about your visit I can visually see the area. You've made me homesick, just booked Place D'Armes Hotel, Courtyard Room for August 6th,7th and 8th.

Just had a woman call, we did work for her husband a few years ago, final work ended in September 2012..he was killed in a snowmobile accident 3 weeks ago, poor dear, could hardly talk from crying..felt so bad..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

(handing vallium to Betty - don't keep any in the house, but made a virtual trip to get some.........) Boy, do you Ever need it, Betty!! Think you need to put Darlene and your Mom in the same room this week. They'll get over it, but geeeeeeeeze!!
Betty - maybe this was from that awful feeling you had yesterday. I swear - you're psychic!!

Thunder - when I take a pic sideways I then put it on my computer, turn it around and save it as something else, then post from "my computer" rather than the camera. Suppose it also depends on which program you "view" it with - I always use Paint......
Blue Birds!! how sweet! Wonder how long before they hatch, or have they already?
