Glad to hear your gome, safe and sound Judy! Love that picture.
Debbie, with all those appointments, I sure hope you get some answers soon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Glad you are home safe and sound..sleep well..can't wait to hear about your vacation and meeting up with Jean/Mary and how you enjoyed NOLA.

Off to make coffee, could use a haircut and need to pick up Easter treats so will head to town early this a.m. So I can be back and still have the day ahead of me!

What do you have planned today?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Betty, your up early. We are getting ready to go to Austin next week end, for a huge got rod gathering, and hubby wants to haul one of his hot rods, so we need to go and buy a flat bed trailer today, and a 2 inch ball for our hitch on the new truck. And of course no one here sells flat beds, so it is off about an hour from here to find one.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Be a nice outing for you Lindakay..yikes, big expense, is it too far for him to drive the hot rod?? you always enjoy the hot rod meet. Do you enjoy or or could you seek off to find a fabric/quilting shop?? Enjoy your day..

Made a list, kept to it but Lordy Easter goodies have gone up!!

Had a painted linoleum set out on back deck under the settee set, decided I wanted something different..has a rug that has similar color to cushion set so bought it, not quite as large but will try it..thought I was better to treat myself to a rug vs chocolates for Easter.

Ran into Ann in my travels, she had a really nice sewing machine given to her and was thrilled about that. Going to her sister's to meet up with family tomorrow..she was none the worse for her fall, thank goodness but said it took almost a week before the aches left.

Have some burning to do but Ann said there was a new law in this municipality no burning of any rubbish..only allowed cooking fires ,oh oh, burnt a lot yesterday not knowing I shouldn't.. will set a chair there and a plate with a wiener ready to cook for a hit dog and there you go..not sure what they would have you do with all the branches and tree limbs??

Off to see what kind of mischief I can get into while we have sunshine..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Big expense, but he has been wanting for for a long time. Yes, I take time for me to go shopping too, too hot to be outside all day, so I run and shop for a bit! ^_^
Glad to hear Ann is doing better. We have burn bans here too, as long as what your burning is in a large metal drum, with fencing over the top that is OK, but we can't have any open flames on the ground!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad you take time for you..I've a big dug pit surrounded with rocks..this is not a ban it's a permanent no burning of trash..but that trash could cook my wiener or marshmallow right?? Lol

I'm about finished doing all I set out to to do today, will take putting the leaders on the quilt frame..

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

Good Morning All, glad to get my questions cleared up....You are a vibrant group, for sure.....Debbie & Shannon are my prayer focus for tomorrow's Glorious Promise, God be with each of us......Maudy Thursday, Good Friday & Easter ! oh, can't forget Palm Sunday, too, all of Holy Week were such a special time during the 6 years I worked for our Church in Elk Grove which is just south of Sacramento CA.....lived here 8 years this week and still miss my church family.....Tallulah, your quilt is just awesome.....really tells a story !~! Today I'm going to try to get back at my quilted postcards....these things are still my baby steps toward quilting on at least a medium level.....looking out my sewing window to see all my iris on the hill on the north side of the house really springing up ! Yesterday spent the day in Clarkston waiting for my BT, Gus, to have surgery on his eye again.....he will have it sewed up for two weeks before the stitches can come out....our Chi, Katie, has scratched both of his eyes while playing.....since I have been on DG (believe I joined in 2005) I've dreamed of actually meeting members in person ! what fun it must be....each of you have a wonderful day !!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Found out from our pastor on Maundy Thursday just what Maundy meant.
It stands for Commandment, which is from the root Latin word mandatum
Jesus gave his commandment "Love one another as I have loved you".
Better than "love your neighbour as you love yourself" cuz what if you have a complex of some kind? You may not love yourself very much. However........ Christ loved us unconditionally, and that's a tough thing for us to DO, but would be good to Follow!!
For Maundy Thursday we did a dipping of our bread into the wine (juice) goblet, which we normally don't (usually we get a tiny cup with juice, and a tiny piece of bread separately).
There was only a total of 9 at this service. Not a lot of seniors want to travel at night, so this is not unusual.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

My son Andy called a bit ago, and told me how his morning was going. He said he heard something scratching under the stove, so he unhooked the stove, and proceeded to pull it out to see what was under it, it was a small possum that ran under the dishwasher, so he pulled out the dishwasher, and it then ran under the sink, and down the hole around the drain pipes, so he then tried to pull up the boards, and broke the PVC pipe to the hot water, only to see the possum run outside. Now he has hot water spraying all over the place so he turned off the water valve, and got a bunch of towels to start mopping up the water all over the floor. When his foot hit the wall, it upset a nest of fire ants that were in the wall so then he had to spray bug spray to kill them! I sat listening to him, and just laughed so hard! I know he had a bad day, but it sure sounded funny when he was telling me what his morning was like!

Verona, ON

Aw poor Andy. Although I have to admit LK it did give me quite the chuckle. In the old farm house with the dirt basement we often got a critter down there. Luckily most of the time they found their own way out. Having muskrats in your basement though is not a comforting thought . I hated when the water came up in the spring as the basement there always flooded. The water has not come up like that for years which makes me wonder about the water level of the lakes. Sure hope it is higher this year. The pike used to spawn about 50 ft from my back door at the farm house. It was neat to watch. Wonder where they go to spawn now - probably right in the swamp that is there.

Glorious, glorious day here today although tomorrow sounds dreadful. How about you Betty and Debbie? Diesel and I spent most of the day outside so hopefully we will both sleep better tonight. We were both up and down last night - think the critters are starting to move around in the bush especially since the moon is so full.Shannon probably has a raging case of cabin fever. Poor kid! Poor mom too!!! Are you all getting together for Easter dinner Debbie? Are your FIl and MIL home? I was wondering if the boys got a tongue lashing about the renos they were going to do to help your FIL get around.

Oh Judy I loved the pic. Can't wait to see some more when you have time. Thinking about having a fire tonight and then I remembered I was out of sage. Oooops better do something about that this week.

Thunder it is April your DS comes back isn't it? How did he like the north's idea of winter?

Katie are you set to travel north this week? Hope Tony's DB gets the care he needs.

Betty would they consider brush and leaves trash? Here trash is what you would normally take to the dump - food boses, pizza boxes etc. Now we do have a Burn Ban in effect most of the year but that is because there are so many campsites around and so many careless campers. Very sad to see on CITY news about the fire in SHaron on Fri.

Susan the quilt is beautiful. What a wonderful way to wrap yourself up in on a cold night. Feel like a lot of armwraps!!

The quilted postcards sound very interesting Deb. The idea of them certainly piqued my interest. How is your furbaby feeling today?

Well there are 3 sorrowful faces staring at me, wasting away to nothing as I sit here so best get them fed.

Dianne

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh my....... a possum? yikes! I agree - a muskrat would be worse..... aren't they vicious?
LK - your poor son - he Does sound like he's having a bad day/morning!
Dianne - thanks - it's a thin quilt, but nothing's going to get through this!!

mulege, Mexico

O Linda, Tell Andy we've all had days like this. I had a good laugh over it and was very grateful my day is going well.

Tony went home very happy with a slow cooker for their Easter lamb dinner. I told him to keep it. I also had two baskets full of craft supplies. Lots of tie-dye stuff and some t-shirts to keep the kids entertained during their vacation. This is perfect weather to play outside and make a mess.

I will probably leave Monday. Tony agreed to work Monday which gave me an excuse to give him some extra money. I can probably find some good after-Easter sales. Hope I can see one or both of my doctors.

Ordered a lot from eBay, Amazon and bulkfoods yesterday.

Tony will have a semi-vacation while I'm gone. We;ll have a lot of work to do when I get home as long as it's not too hot. I stocked up on chicken legs and other food for the dogs today. The meat store had a lot of liver. I'll cook it and chop it in the food processor which will make some of the dog meals easier for Tony. We've also been getting a lot of fresh fish and vegetables to go along with our perfect weather.

We should have a beautiful quiet Easter. Wishing the same for all of those here.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg LindaKay, am sure you didn't want to laugh to make things worse but it is a comedy of happenings..did he appreciate the laughter and laugh right along with you..shaking my head, while in Florida years ago didn't I set my chair in a nest of red ants..had to be one the most painful experiences..let's hope tomorrow is a better day for him! We're you able to find a trailer and hitch?

Susan, you won't know what to do with yourself when winter is over..

Dianne muskrats can do one heck of a lot of damage in very little time.
Was a bit cooler today than yesterday so opted to do nothing..as for the water level I think you will be disappointed, not likely rising ..Darlene mentioned the other day a summit to address just that problem with government officials, our mayors and councillors, not quite sure what can be done but guess major issues are arising! Paul (boss/BIL) was telling me after all the dollars spent last year having metal tubing fabricated and set out 3 more lengths of floating docs he doesn't think he will be able to bring in the larger boats. My cousin Doug who lives full time up in Cognashene has a rock cut to go through with the boat and if things don't change he is not sure what all the full time residents will do?

I will contact the municipality to see exactly what burning laws are..drats maybe it's better not to .. Grin

Open door here, kitties want out, kitties want in..each time wanting treats..sure wish someone lived in this house that I simply could make a sound and they would treat me and feed me..wouldn't that be nice?

As i said, didnt do much today, well not quite nothing, put a quilt on that frame, tried the regulator they send me for my janome embroidery machine..ahhhh you know there is no hurry to get a quilt done so think I'm going to wait till I can order the proper sewing machine for it..don't want to take the chance of doing something I shouldn't be dong..will call the company who said the regulator would work and just make sure they did not confuse the model I have with one that works

Hungry so best I go find something to eat..ahhh maybe a telephone call to the little pizzeria next door, chicken souvlaki??

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - I'll just have to garden, garden, garden, is all LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

How long are you expecting to be away this time Katie? You are indeed lucky to have Tony otherwise you wouldn't have the freedom you have to pick up and travel. Tony wont know what to do with a mni vacation..how is his family dong..health issues all behind them?Have you appointments already booked?
The kids will enjoy crafting tomorrow..will you attend their festivities?

Deb, hugs, you sound homesick! Pets sure are a worry..how are Gus and Katie doing..better today? Love to see your quilted postcards..

Travel has started to catch up to me, tired tonight..going to eat, hot bath then early into bed..found some garden and country magazines I can look at until I fall asleep..3 hrs of travel tomorrow for Easter din/din.

Had hoped Greg would call to let me know he's home from up the lakes..likely not as I gave him the whatfor last night.be sooo glad when he puts those sleds away.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I will have to do the same..

few flowers in front garden, near the smaller pond 2 see two shrubs as green as can be,,hope I marked what they are, know they were bought last fall, whatever they Re doing they are doing well.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes, we got the hitch and trailer, all set for the trip to Austin next week end.
Andy called the landlord, and told him what had happened, he said no problem he would send someone over to get it fixed! Andy and family surprised us by calling a bit ago to say they are on the way here to spend Easter with us, so it will be nice to have little ones for Easter.

Lyndonville, NY

You have all been so busy! Linda Kay, that sounds like one of my "oh my gosh, I have to save the critter" rescue stories....when I am the one ending up
making a chaos out of a perfectly content varmit!

I moved the dining room table and chairs to sweep, ended up pulling them all out of the room, mopping twice and started throwing things out.

Up in DD/DSs room that is being renovated, DH has the walls painted, the trim is in progress but found some bad areas on the rug....so decided to haul
that out. DH...who has been watching remodeling shows...decided to paint the floor. It is old, can't be sanded....and gives us some "buy time"til we can
get a new floor put down proper...to keep DD healthy. It will seal the floor so I can clean it better and just use an area rug.

Took a run to "the inlaws". Yes FIL & MIL came home Thursday. The boys DID NOTHING in that house. I was so ticked!!! DH has ordered a new toilet
for them (which his brother Tim was supposed to be in charge of) and everything falls back on DH as those other 3 are....worthless.

No, just the 3 of us for dinner. The others are having dinner with their in-laws and might come over for dessert. IF they don't, they don't get their tulip
plants I got them....and I will keep them!!!

Shannon is home....tired out...and snoozing on the couch!

Debbie

Oh LK what a wonderful surprise! Enjoy having your family with you.

A muskrat once got 1 of my dogs in the nose. What a mess - blood everywhere. Tundra never bothered with them again. Was really DH and his pal's fault - I warned them not to let the pup out. I had gone on to bed but Tundra had wanted to stay with the guys. Let me tell you there were some blue words reverberating throughout the kitchen when I got Tundra in - and they weren't at the dog either.

Debbie isn't that alwways the way, decide to do a little redecorating and end up with a major project.

if once the floor paint dries you could give it a light sanding it would look very antique looking.shebwill love her new digs, give her somethink to look forward to. Give yourself a treat, keep the tulips anyway. Lol

Not very thoughtful boys your Bill's are..wouldn't the changes have made things so muchneasierbfor him?

LindaKay, Andy coming with the kids will MAKE Easter..bet you are running around getting everything in order

Dianne, just a few minutes ago I watched documentary on beavers, lordynthey sure are a valuable asset to the land.

Head getting heavy, starting to not off

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, I would love that look. Shannon, not so much! She wants the black lacquer look. Her headboard was given
to us by a "friend" DH helped move, he was putting it out to the trash. Nice "bookshelf" headboard. We are painting that black
also. The walls are a very soft gray that actually have a blue tint.

This is the new bedspread set she picked out.

https://www.kohls.com/product/prd-c30423/the-big-one-candice-bed-set.jsp?searchTerm=The%20Big%20One%20Candice%208-pc.%20Bed%20Set

The best part was it is on sale, and I had an additional $20 off Kohl's cash...so got it for $33 from $140

Susan, Your quilt is beautiful !! makes me want to dig out my blocks and do something with them.... I wanted to make a wall hanging, but now that I moved into the bigger room, and got more shelves....I do not have any wall space. HHmmm maybe could use a s a curtain of sorts?? on front of shelving??? will have to think about that.

LK, sorry for Andy's troubles, butttttt it was kinda funny :) Glad they decided to visit for Easter. Skyped with Malena today and she was excited about decorating eggs.

Yes Dianne, DS classes are over mid April. He will come home for a little bit after making a round about trip up to Massachusetts to see my Momma. NC to see his brother, then here. then he will be off to Kansas to start college classes !!! I am so happy / excited for him. He is so darn smart it is crazy!!! I just know he will love the "college" atmosphere... a very different type of learning environment, as compared to high school....He is very much looking forward to it.
He thinks the north is F#@#&**& ridiculous COLD !! and snow is NOT fun to drive in !!!! even though we told him so, I guess he still thought it would be ( go figure ) He did say he wished he had the opportunity to have a snowball fight with a bunch of friends, and enjoy a fireside cup of cocoa afterwards...thought that would be a worthwhile experience.....

safe travels Katie, hope you get all you want accomplished on your journey.

Deb, you are always in my thoughts...sending hugs ♥♥♥

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thanks, Thunder. I have another set of blocks from a swap and need to figure out what to make with them, too! They're the RWB swap. And I have an extra one that Kathy Kiz sent - teacup swap.

The other day Bob & I booked a spot for camping, May long weekend! So looking forward to it. It's the same campground we went to in October. This time we should have water hookup..........
Remember this spot?

Oh how I have laughed my way thru this....Andy, I don't know you but OMGoodness, I can just see & hear you.....my husband warned me one time not to let our Gerbil, Stewie, out in the bathroom unattended 'corse I knew better than him....well, after I had to tear the bottom out of a cupboard & pull up the floor to get to the little scamp I figured out he did know best.....

Verona, ON

Wonder if LK's Andy is ready to laugh about all of this now? Hopefully he and his family have made their way to LK's by now and the kidlings are sleeping and awaiting the Easter Bunny.

Sweet dreams everyone.
D

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes, everyone is here, and kids are asleep! I saw this post on Facebook, where the kids plant jelly beans in a pot of dirt, then in the morning it grows into lollipops! So we planted the jelly beans, and the kids will be so excited when they see what has grown in the morning.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

lol good for you, LK - to do this..... sounds like a new tradition to me!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Happy Easter Everyone...

LindaKay, that is a new one..a magic happening..will have to tell Suzanne about that one..oh how excited they will be this mornimg!! Get that camera out..snap/snap.

Susan, gorgeous view, may will be here before you know it. wonder if I shall ever venture out in my trailer, perhaps Kyle will this year.

Debbie, sounds like your little girl is growing up..quite a mature design..love the color theme she picked ..great buy on bedspread.

Deb, lol, small little creature to try and find, bet you will not do that again.

Thunder, how proud you must be..it was the right choice for him to make, a navy man!

Must wait for a reasonable hour to find out what time we are heading to the city. I have a pizza dip to make this morning then can cook it when I get to Julie's..not much else to do today, might play

Enjoy your day!
