I'm sitting here dreaming of changing the sewing room----again!!! I am selling my embroidery machine (I just enjoy piecing and paper piecing and other crafts too much) and with the money I get for it I hope to redo the sewing room. I'm looking at a nice sewing cabinet that all folds up and a couple of new storage armoires for my fabrics. I have stuff all over the place right now and it is driving me crazy and it is only because I don't have the proper storage in place. Anyway--- I am having fun planning!!!!
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? chat with friends
Planning is half the fun..sometimes we want these machines that do everything and at what purpose, rarely use them!
Hi Everyone, It's another lovely day here. I have a bit of a stomach ache so we are all taking it easy. I had a nice bath in my outdoor tub.
when I was done, Jennybear jumped in. We share everything.
Debbie, You are a lot in my thoughts and prayers. Remember Shane did contact you. One theory is that as young people go through adolescence they go through all the stagges of development again. Maybe if you remember how Shane was when he was two it will make this stuff a bit more bearable.
Went to town on Friday and had car trouble but saw my friend Mel. We are both serious dog people so we only see each other when we run in to each other in town about once a year. It's very funny cause we really like each other and always have a good talk but then we go back to being happy with our dog companions. I slept in the back of the van while it was bein repaired and then had trouble sleeping that night.
While I think of myself as getting nothing done I have scrubbed six more tires and they are dry and ready to paint. Not while my stomach hurts.
Lots of citrus blooming. We'll have a bumper crop next winter.
Meanwhile, our weather is to die for and I'm thoroughly appreciating it.
hugs, katie
(((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) to all - whether joy or sorrow fills your life, whether you enjoy good health, or suffer from bad, if your family is "perfect" or dysfunctional (like most of us.....), if you have someone in your life, or no one......... with furries, or without...... your are ALL in my thoughts and prayers on this Palm Sunday.
May you welcome the Lord today, as they did 2,000 years ago, with palm branches and joy. Sing Hossana!!
May he always live in your heart, and in your actions.
God Bless you!
Ohhh Barb, that Elvis was AWESOME !!! sat here and watched a bunch of them..gave me the shivers too!! My older brother was a huge fan, not to often that Elvis was not blasting on the record player for many of my young years.....
hugs and happy thoughts to one and all ^_^ ♥♥♥
and safe journeys
Katie, thank you. I try and remember that...but he has always been stuck to my side.
It hurt very badly today, it is his 20th birthday. DH called him and talked a bit, but when time to pass phone to me
he said "Dad I gotta go, I'll call back shortly." Well, he never did. And he had to go to eat his lunch....nothing important.
Been watching the weather. Scary looking storm coming across the west towards us. DS actually said Denver got about 18 inches
from it. I hope it breaks up before hitting any of us here on the thread.....especially with Betty on the road!!!
Stay safe and well everyone....
Debbie
((((((((((Debbie))))))))))))) I know it hurts, and wish I could be there to give you a big ole hug!
Morning,
Debbie, my heart just breaks for you..I think Shane just couldn't speak to you as he knew how badly he treated you and he would have fallen to pieces the moment you said 'hi', no excuse though, it is something you will always remember and something Shane will never forget! Hugs my friend..
Thunder you will have to drive up and pick dg friends along the way and we'll all party with Elvis at the festival. Lol
Susan, what a lovely post.
Katie, hope the repairs didn't set you back a pretty penny (oooh now that we Canadians have done away with pennies there goes that saying) does Mel live a distance from you? Would be nice if you could visit more often. Better you do bits
Here and there vs overdoing it. Bet it smells lovely witheverythingin bloom.
((((Debbie))))
My fever finally went below 100* yesterday. Woo hoo! I feel so much better other than I am very tired. Have been up for about 2 hours but am ready for a nap. Lol. I've gone from 1 extreme to the other.
Is it tomorrow Betty you find out about your machine? I was going to mention about Buffalo earlier in the week, thought I had but can see I didn't. These brain blizzards are driving me nuts! Since you are in Buffalo so often while it would be a pain to lug the thing back and forth for repairs it is not a major task. I just hope you get a brand new one and all of this is behind you.
Katie things sound so pretty at your place. I have lots of tires you could have. DH used to grow his spuds in them. Love that you are enjoying your weather. I so envy you that you could go and have a nap in your van while it was being repaired. In my next life I am definitely coming back as a sleeper.
Judy I am so excited for you and Steve. Have a wonderful trip!
Been up for awhile and am considering revisiting those nice warm sheets for a nap.
Dianne
Wrote a 2nd post as I keep losing internet, must be the weather..I'll try it again, where was I?
Did thanks Susan and Depsi for their kind words..
Mary, worried about you,you haven't posted in a bit, know that happens when you are stressed.
Jean, here is hoping weather won't hamper you meeting up with Mary and Judy today..fine hugs to everyone please.
Barb, do you have your sewing room plan finished? Will the dealer buy back you machine or will you have to find a buyer..shouldn't be too hard to sell seeing it was used but a few times..wish I lived closer so I could have a look!
Marion, are you floating around on Noah's arc? Rained here just after I headed to bed last night.Mother Nature is being Ber accommodating!
Bev did your son get to drive his daughter home?
Miss Thea as well..
Dianne, are you finally on the mend, did the new meds work?
Monday already, I would like to leave Thursday, Darlene Wednesday..she anxious to go home and I am not.
Hope everyone sees sunshine today!
We cross posted, so glad you are feeling better..will take a bit for you to regain your strength, we will have to come back as twins as a sleeper is what I also should be.
You know, my brain wasn't working because yes I should have thought about Buffalo..likely I got further with the husqvarna gallery store but I now know at least I can take advantage of warrantee. I go tomorrow afternoon to pick it up IF I don't get a call first saying they did not approve the exchange.
Ahh sun is peeping out, best I get up,mso my hair..won't be long it will be time to leave.
Sure hope they approve your new machine Betty.
Dianne, glad to hear your on the men's, but just listen to your body, and nap when you need too!
Katie, sorry to hear about your van breaking down, hope it was an easy fix.
When I was looking for tires last year, I went to our wal mart, where they have a small garage for tire sales. I ask the manager if I could buy 4 tires for planters, and she old me I could have them, and any in the future I need. Saves them from having to pay someone to haul them off.
No Rick did not take Terri home. We got about 10 inches of blowing wet snow. Ricks girlfriend took my truck to work and got there but went in the ditch on the way home about a mile from town and the road workers got her out and to town about midnight but had to leave my truck up at the Iron Sleds motorcycle club up the street. No one will be going anywhere today. Don't know when they will dig us out. BEV
Nope we didn't need the ark as we are on higher ground but some areas are having flood problems. This front came to close on the heels of the last rain maker.
Hot yesterday and much cooler today. Off to work outside a little more............
Katie - sure hope this fever of yours totally breaks and you feel better soon................
Thank you, Betty - sometimes I don't know what to say to each particular person, but wanted everyone to know that they're in my heart and prayers.
This group is so wonderful - there are days when I have no words for things I have in my life, but whether I say anything or not - you are always in my heart.
Turned into an absolutely gorgeous afternoon. Who would have thunk it after this morning? Diesel and I spent most of our time outside hauling logs to the edge of the lane. Steve and I will get them cut up and stacked sometime this week so I won't run out of wood. Most of this wood is either fall or what Hydro left behind when the trimmed around the lines in 2011.
Debbie you have been on my mind a lot these last few days and I have been sending positive, hopefully comforting thoughts. We sure do need that bridge across the lake we have always talked about.Yesterday must have been really difficult for you. Perhaps it was just too much for Shane to talk to you - I am positive he didn't want to slight you. He's grappling with some pretty raw and real emotions too.(((Debbie)))
Betty are you out sunning yourself today? Sure hope so. Interesting Darlene is a pool person. Wonder if it is because she lives on a lake? Hope this storm is over before you strike off for home.
Barb how are you faring? Snow up to your eyeballs?
Mary, Jean, Judy when is it you are meeting up? I am so excited for you all and of course wish I could be there too.
Susan are you making more bread this week? I got the bread machine out and there it sits on the counter. I want to make some bread but the trouble is that it is just me and that warm bread tastes soooo good....... you get the picture. Before I know what happens the whole loaf will be gone.Need to invite someone for tea and make a loaf - that would be a great idea all ways round.
Here LK you have to pay to dispose of tires. Its a surtax everyone hates but you must pay. If you take your old tires home when you get the new ones you don't have to pay the taxes. For the first year or 2 after the tax came into effect the number of old tires turning up in the dtiches on the sideroads was atrocious. What an eyesore we had! Police started being more vigilant and after a few people were caught and hefty fines were levied the dumping of tires started to slow down. How is Luna doing? Does she look forward to her walks?
I really need to vaccum and wash the floors but after hauling that wood I am worn out. Think I will sit in front of the fire instead and read.lol That didn't take much convincing did it?
Dianne
We have to pay a $5.00 fine also for each tire turned in, that is why she gave them to me, as they were paid for. Pretty sad when they start dumping trash and tires on the side of the road!
Luna is doing much better, she loves to go for our walks, and she loves playing fetch with a baseball.
I think Judy is meeting up with Jean and Mary tonight!
Dianne, thank you. It has been a very hard week, weekend...and month overall.
We have the tire fees also.
Evening all, back from the beach, had supper and will now relax!
Water was just like pea soup, walked the beach, was just sooo nice.
I am paying though, talk about itchy/blotchy, being allergic to the sun a few months of the year is the pitzzzz. Ended up putting on a jean blouse and pulled the sleeves overmy hands, towels to cover my feet..guess because the face is always open to the elements I don't usually have problems.
Was just thinking how the gathering went today, perhaps it was tonight..can't wait to hear from one of them..I remember when I met up with Mary in New Orleans , the smile on our faces could have lit the French quarter! Lol
When I bought my snow tires I too had to pay in advance for the tire tax..they have you coming and going.
Now Dianne you were suppose to take it easy, see you listen like the rest of us.
Nice to hear we are getting nice weather.
Debbie, sitting here thinking all you have been through this past month..Lordy you sure need a group hug..
Sending a hug from both Norm and I,Deb. Wish we were there to give you one inperson......
Thank you so much.
We were able to make an appointment with the Hem/Onc team....earliest is April 24, and on a cancellation list.
The repair of the starter took about three hours but cost less than $150 - about a tenth of what it would have cost in Ca. And I had a good nap.
There's a lot of good information at tirecrafting.com. I have the tape and the book and have found both very valuable. The owner also answers emails personally.
Big hugs, Deb. I tend to think of Shane as a two-year-old struggling over toilet training. Trust yourself on this, OK? He's being rebellious but, as far as you know, he's not being self-destructive is he? More worrisome if he is but either way it's out of your hands.
I got three tires painted today and I've got a big pot of chicken and rice cooking for the dogs. Not real productive but I caught up on laundry and dishwashing over the weekend.
Time to lie down again.
hugs, katie
Debbie, sending you big ((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) too! Sure hope they call you with an earlier appointment.
Betty, why are you breaking out? Sorry to hear you can't enjoy the sun! At least we know your not skinny dipping! Any word on your sewing machine?
Debbie, hope somewhere in your day you had some sunshine..fed ex come by? That at least would have made you smile..no??? Will have to send you something just to see some eye candy!
I was hoping to leave Thursday as I'm not anxious to leave the sunshine while Darlene now knowing her time is up wants to leave Wednesday!
I find out about the machine tomorrow afternoon..not sure where it would go after that if no exchange..not letting my mind go there.
That is a good price Katie, glad repairs are less in Mexico. You sure have been accomplishing a lot..know you take naps but still exhausting.
After hours in the sunshine I could so go to sleep but think I will fight it, might get to sleep in longer in the a.m.
Betty, there are two storms. One just came though the Ohio region....the other is due along those paths tonight I believe. SO, give them
time to clean up those messes.
I have my doubts about everything that comes out of that boys mouth. AND since I have no way possible of finding out, his GF has a job and supposedly
an inheritance, so I am wondering why she won't feed to poor starving boy. They supposedly have an apartment....I have an address.
I am sending him box with his clothes...and a note. The bank has run dry...hope you found a job. AND sending him a carton of Ramon noodles
and soup mixes.
Will keep an eye on the weather Debbie, hoping I can squeeze another day in..but seeing as its Dar's vehicle I can't be too bossy. She kind of mentioned going I-95 to 77 which I thought would be nice, a different route.tonight she met someone at the pool who said 77 had major repairs being done and it took them an extra 7 hours sooo who knows which route to take?
Debbie, thinking that is a smart thing to do..you will feel better sending him a bit of group while at the same time letting him know he chose to be independent and with it goes responsibility of getting some sort of job.
Know it's a hard thing to do but you will both be better for it..
Where is that Mary, jean or Judy..hard to stay up much longer..need update soon as I'm falling asleep
lol Good for you, Debbie!! Tough Love.........
Dianne - no more bread now - going to make bread pudding out of the balance I have left - after all, I made 6 loves of varying types of bread.
I hope all those in nasty weather are keeping warm, dry, and safe! Prayers for you all!
Been busy quilting, which is why I haven't been on much....
Betty, I will check out 77. It isn't far from us....and 77 splits to 63...which is what we go onto. 77 is very rural routes...cornfields...You get the picture!
Hello To All ;
(SIGH) What an incredible evening with beautiful friends ! I didn't tell them I was a tad bit sick before we met up.... (Thanks Dianne - got your cold !)
but met up with them anyway... so if they come down with it ... it's all my fault....
Just like meeting Betty - BIG ARMWRAPS and then talk talk talk talk talk talk talk like we'd been together for eons....
I'm just exhausted.... hurt like crazy to have to break away and head home... but have another meeting at 8am tomorrow....
I surely believe I will see these 2 awesome ladies again..... Jean looks a lot like my Mom... long braid like she had... Judy is a little ball of good energy and smiles and .... we literally could have chatted all night....
(HUGS)
Mary
So glad you had a good time with the girls! Love the Picture! Hope your feeling better soon!
Oohhh now I know why I couldn't sleep, was just waiting for update on your visit..wonderful that you all got to meet..not only are you hurting from a cold but I'm sure you will be hurting from armwraps..
Where did you meet up? With love in my heart I will ask "did Judy have her teeth?) lol. Had to ask as Debbie started it by commenting on cornfields so had to pass on a dig..am I not bad??
now off for a hot toddy so you feel better in the morning, likely wasnt Dianne who passed her cold on to you it was our Canadian weather, you must dress warmer for your walks.
Mary, thanks for the photo.l.
Wasn't me giving a dig Judy!!!! I'm so glad you had such a good time Mary. Judy is one bundle of energy that is for sure. And Jean looks as I have pictured her....a bit taller maybe. I must have seen a picture on one of the threads somewhere in my travels. The photo is awesome and I thank you for it too Mary.
Yesterday's storm passed to the south of us this time. We still have about 10" of snow in the yard but temps are to warm up to the forties this week. And near fifty on Friday!!! That should help get rid of the stuff.
Off to do my breathing machine...Have a great day all.........
Think I beat you to it Barb!! Judy has to know we love her, have to razzz her to keep her on her toes.
Sigh of relief that the storm didn't reach your area..know you have had enough! With the snow you had how many snow days did Norm have?? How is he doing??
Cooler temps here this morning, not sure how to dress so think I will wait a bit before checking in my suitcase for cooler garb.
Got email from Kyle..he took my car in, no wonder the defroster didn't work, had broken the knob cable..he will bring it in for replacement on Thursday and he said they had a recall on something, will do it at same time..it's a wonder the dealership took instructions from a 17 year old..glad I have a man looking after my 'to do's'
Coffee calling
Brrrrr
Yeah....I don't want to hear about your brrrr in Florida!!! The snow is still falling gently hear, but it didn't keep me in yesterday and it won't keep me in today either!
Glad you had a mini sistah's meet Babe and Mary!
Yikes Joyce, I so thought I'd not see snow on my way home and here you tell me it's a snowing, what's with that??
Would you believe the tips of my fingers are numb from the cold..not fibbin' they are. Lol
Darlene has most of her things in the vehicle so likely means we Re off in the morning.,heck, if we are going in the mornimg why not get a head start and get 4 or 5 hours in this evening??
Been playing with maps, looking at taking I-75 (your route Joyce) ..checking the
I-77 route although like I said Darlene made it sound like construction from beginning to end..then thought it might be nice to go myrtle beach then towards Washington dc then up to buffalo, kind of cow route but mileage not much more and it would be different for me. Big sigh, what to do?
Where are you all? Not snowed in I hooe..
Bet Judy is in the French quarter enjoying sight seeing, jean and Mary tired out from the excitement, Susan is keeping busy..Debbie and Dianne taking it slow..Barb organizing her sewing room, Bev is wondering when the sow will be gone so she can see her Lillie's, Shirley I hooe is enjoying her new digs..Katie has the best weather of us yet, bet she is out painting tires..Marion is thinking about a trip to see her mom shortly, Janice is working hard in therapy so she can finally run to a fabric shop..know I'm missing some, be back in a bit
Morning everyone. Boy you ladies are up early! Betty, I sure wish you would put your foot down, and make her stay one more day! I know she is anxious to get home, but she has to realize it is your vacation also that is getting cut short a day! Please turn on the TV, and watch the weather channel, there is a big storm coming across the North Eastern States this week end, they say it has more snow storms in it! So plan your trip accordingly please?
Betty, not sure with this weather...but if you swing through DC area....you might get to see Cherry Blossoms. My favorite time of year there.
No taking it easy, up to Rochester again to pick up Shannon.
Will start checking route..I would rather leave early then hit a storm..
Yes, remember when I took the grandsons on their Washington trip how heavenly it was, the beauty and the fragrance..
Is Shannon feeling poorly that you have to pick her up??
This is what I just fount online at weather channel
Doesn't look too bad! Don't know why fox news showed the storms?
