I am still cutting appliques !! think I will take a break from them today, and start to put the reverse side together for Malena'a quilt. I have a top done for Ryleigh, and have to figure out what I am going to do for the reverse on it??!!??

Well maybe I will ask if we could leave tomorrow, break our travel up a bit and see a few different areas..lunch in Myrtle Beach, drive through Washington, feel like I'm doing something with this week.

Thanks for the weather reports, it's a help knowing I'm not getting myself into an 'oh/oh' situation.

Made fresh fruit salad,have left over corn and BBQ hot dogs, sun is out so will enjoy eating outside then should be time for Joann's.

Sharon sent me photo of flannel she is short that we bought when we were at Joann's last year, Needs 1 yard to finish a rag quilt so will look for it. Saw a few bolts of Christmas fabric that I could use for backing on the 4 Christmas tops I've got made, would enable me to finish them, I'll see what they are charging per yard and maybe stock up on that. About all I need at Joann's that I can fit in the vehicle. I'll be in a shopping mood IF my machine is replaced.

Darlene asked about leaving , as I said earlier Darlene had mentioned about an alternate route to her route 77 because of construction, so I mapped out another..

I said why don't we leave then tomorrow, stop at a few places and make less driving each day and enjoy the trip..she got uppity and said she wanted no mountains in her trip, it frightens her, I checked and said no more than going in Tennessee taking I-75' she said she wasn't interested in sightseeing, wants to go straight hope, so asked again when we could leave, I said I guessed tomorrow, she said I was being bitchy, stormed out and slammed the doo saying she had kitties to consider.drats, I took a week without pay, paid limo service and airline which I don't mind, worth it for a weeks vacation But some of my likes should be considered..best I just turn a page and call it experience..

Good Morning

After a lovely, though slightly chilly start, Monday in New Orleans was a blast. My DH and GS and I met Judy, Steve, Sabrina and Jake and after a bit of get acquainted chat, we headed off to the trolley and the French Quarter....ate too much. walked too much and laughed a lot.

Judy came home with us and we met Mary for dinner...Laughs and hugs and not nearly enough time...Judy and I sat up til almost 1AM....lots of hugs and laughter...we might even give Steve directions to claim her today...GRIN

Betty isn't kidding it is down right chilly here today! Saying we are going to have a freeze tonight...that can't possible be true!!! Afraid it is though.....good thing I managed a few hours working outside yesterday.

Hoping to leave Saturday morning to go see mom but it all depends on Kim. she started with what we thought was her usual allergies from the pollen but it has turned into a bad cold. Hasn't been able to go to work so far this week. We will just have to wait and see.

Going tomorrow for my pre-op appointment preparing to have the cataract surgery the 4th. It will be so good to have all of this behind me!!!!!

Off to work on some more dresses to take to mom....chat later.

That cold has dragged on for what seems an eternity for Kim..is she normally sickly? You will feel much better once surgery is behind you and you get to see your mom..

Oh Jean, how exciting, didn't know Judy was going to your place, even better visit! It's wonderful when you get to meet a dg'er and their family, especially I their home..when you gab and they say what they are dong you can see them and know what they are up to..

I've so far met Debbie/Paul (often of course) , Barb/Norm, Liz and the troublemaker Ken. Lol (he's special) Judy/Steve and family (my house and theirs a few times), Bev and Mary, Karen, Joyce and Bill, was at her house several times and she atmne..get to see her in May at my house..let's see, missing someone I'm sure.

I wonder too, if Kim is normally sickly........ didn't think she was....... maybe it's just this year that she can't seem to get rid of the cold?!

No Kim is not usually sickly but this year seems to have been really bad with the pollen.

Betty you are really the only person that Darlene has right now to take her anger and whatever other feelings she is experiencing out on. Know its hard and I know it hurts coming from a friend that you have done so much for so I hope when she calms down a bit she will realize there needs to be a give and take from both of you on this trip home.

Jean Amazon came about 30 min ago - sitting here listening to a piece of heaven. Definitely need to get more CDs by Mr Joe.

She seems to have a very large number of students that are coming to school sick that should be at home. That combined with very heavy pollen just put her down.

Susan, surgery if the 4th....just have to go through preparations first.

Boy I am getting all kinds of happies today...Dianne, I am so tickled you like Joe....I think his music is brilliant.

Betty, maybe Darlene is torn...she has met a few folks, had a fairly nice time there, and has sustained such loss at home that she may be warring with herself and you caught the flak....

Pollen is HORRENDOUS this season!!! I have been feeling just "blah" for ages just when I think I am going to be good again....blam..I get hit again!!!!

allergies can really take a lot out of you!!! and on top of that I have asthma....so when allergies hit hard..so does the asthma.....been through two extra inhalers so far for feb/march !!! wishing for it to end soon. not much fun when your whole body hurts to just breathe.... cold air makes it worse...

Betty maybe you just need to give Darlene a hug, and tell her you love her??!! gently remind her it is your vacation time....

I also agree that it would have been nice for her to have considered your "wish list" too.
Maybe she's trying to gently (well, not so gently...) push you away so she can "forget" for a bit, too............

OMG, so much to report as I am writing on Jim lil laptop, haha, so gratfeul for the use, as I sit here mumbling to myself trying to get used to another lil techy thing!!

Anyway, Oh how sweet the visit with Jean and Mary...We were a bit late so our visit was cut a little shorter. Mary is every bit the sweetheart. Yes her smile is just radiant. We ordered appetizers and it was a good thing, We did more chatting and laughing remembering to to nibble in between. Im so happy Mary was able to come and not give in to being sick,lol...Hope you get better fast. Armwraps given for all as promised, and then some more in the parking lot!! We parted and Monnie and I came back to her house...ROFLOL, Both Moon and Jim said make yourself at home which I did upon entry!! OMG, Moonie is just as down to earth and fun as I fi8gured out from the first conversation we had many many moons and ringle jingles ago! We visited with Jim before he went off to sleep. Omg goodness, Love to see ALL the scroll work her son has gifted her...beautiful pieces and truley a work of art, very inspirational to keep the craft going. We just sat at the table and chattered away, lol lots more armswraps before both retiring for sleep...Ha, Slept so sound all the way until 10!! giggle, giggle, unheard of. So here we both sit catching up some more...Wait till you see the most beautiful piece I received!! I can't
wait to hang it at home...Jim is a real sweetheart and if there not carefull, I might just pack up Jordan and bring him home with us. A truley nice young man...The three kids got a long just great, lol of course it took just a shoort time time to "feel" each other out, haha...Kids!! by time our visit was over they were having lots of fun...Betty wehad lunch at the same place you and Mary did 8in the french quarter! haha, the boys both had na rack of ribs, loln the challange was on who9 could eat the whole thing...Jordon won!! Jake "opted" to take leftovers home for breakfast...One thing about Southern food is you get enough to feed several people. Just awesome!! oh now, the weather is spectacular!! I definatley have been sunkissed, lol better wear a hat today.

Well boohoo...just got a text on pick up time so going to close this post and finish our phoneless visit...So I hope ytou all have a great day, will be back soon as I can, think we are doing the Audobon Zoo later today.

Judy, my heart is skipping a beat at how exciting your visit was..and then add extra time with Jean, your moonbeam, I am thrilled for you! Sounds as though you all feel like youve known each other for years.. Are you staying in the French quarter? If so where? Glad you have great weather. REMEMBER if on Bourbon Street you run into college student, let them party on their own..lol I'm still paying for that one..how long will you be in NOLA?

I remember my ex's truck breaking down in Minneapolis/St. Paul area, and he got a ride home to Winnipeg. When it came time to pick up his truck, the kids and I drove him down to get it, and then drove back to Winnipeg.
He told me I Was Not to be home later than 6pm the next day (with staying overnight at a motel)! No Time For Sightseeing. siiiiiiigh
Silly me - before I signed in at a motel, I called relatives in the area - they said I was to come stay at their house. siiiiiigh we were looking forward to the swimming pool, but I'd said........
Y'know I couldn't get to sleep until 4am?!?! They lived on a farm and it was SO QUIET..... not used to that, being a "city gal"! lol

Betty, any word on your machine yet? Sure hope they replace it for you.

I have a replacement in the car... Had it sent to me without the outer plastic over..waited 1 hr till they could find another that fit..not sure it's not a demo but at least if it is a demo it would have all theknks out of it..


Believe warrantee starts now on new machine and not dec. let's hope I don't need it!

Put a good day in..settled in at 7pm after reaching Tennessee border..

Hotel restaurant has the largest and the biggest cakes/pies I've ever seen..ate my salad in the room and now will go get coffee and decide just which on I shall have..just GOT to bring my camera..mouth watering double time..

Thanks for prayers for safe travel and patience..sure DO,DO,DO need them!

You are just that much closer to home and a day to rest and regroup before Easter with family...be safe.....take deep breaths.....grin

Omg, went to get a slice of cake..cant even fathom how many caleries would be in the German cake, 1/2 cheesecake, chocolate, fruit..guess I ate a 1/3rd of it..guess what might be for breakfast!
