2013 N Central TX RU April 21st in Arlington #2 TRADE

Dallas, TX

Dennis,

Could I please have one of your pregnant onions? I believe I have some milkweed seeds in my seed box that I can give you.

Thanks,

Kate

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

I've got you down for a pregnant onion, Kate.

Can I have a Mexican hat, Pat, if you have an extra one?

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

I have plenty of Mexican hats and have you down for some, Dennis.

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

I'll bring Black-Eyed Susan (I think, I mean I'm pretty sure, I said Mexican Hat before, but I'm pretty sure they're BESusans) seeds;
I don't think it's too late to plant them.

& msgrubbyfungus, I have so many irises that need homes, literally boxes of them, I'd be happy for you to take some if you can use them.

They're just the old cemetary whites & a historic yellow that blooms along with the white, good for landscaping.

I could probably landscape Texas with these things...

Patrob, I would like 6 mexican hats if you have enough. also dont throw away the cowpen daisies. I'll take all the left overs you have. I know my sister would like some and I have another friend who admired mine each time she walked by. I'd love to give her a couple. To save pots and soil, you can just put them all in the same pot for me.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

I am bringing a Gulf Coast penstemon and a spineless prickly pear, if anyone is interested.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Marty, I'll bring you a bunch of Mexican hats and cowpen daisies. They are lucky little plants to be given a reprieve and a chance at a new life. :)

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

I would like the GC penstemon, Dennis. I need some plants with flower spikes.

Arlington, TX

I bet Austin would like the prickly pear.

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

cheryl, did you see the photo of the two pieces you gave me last year? I posted on April blooms even tho they were not blooming.

Arlington, TX

I didn't remember bringing you any. I am glad they are growing and amusing.

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

It changes almost daily now as the little one has started to grow "arms" and the big one's head keeps getting bigger.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Whoever gave me the Iris-that-lives-inside last fall....it is blooming!

Sylvania, GA(Zone 8b)

So nobody is interested in landscaping timbers? I won't load them up if no one wants them...Let me know before they hit he burn pile!

Angel

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

Gasp! Please dont burn them unless you just have to. Build some more beds. build beds for your neighbors. stack them out of sight. I would take them but how do I get them home? that is something that can be used for a lot of things and to burn up wood just seems sacrilegious (sp).

Fort Worth, TX

I have a way to haul landscaping timbers home, as long as I get the 2 tons of rock off my trailer between now and next weekend. Anyone need limestone boulders? (approx weight each 300 lbs)

Arlington, TX

LOL I don't think I can lift a 300 pound boulder but its a tempting idea.
C

Fort Worth, TX

I can't lift them either, but I can back the trailer up to the corner of my yard and flip them off with a rock pole. (you are so not going to believe this when you realize how bit I am not...) A rock pole is a mighty good lever.

I would rather have the landscape timbers, I need more garden, less rock. Anyone want some rock? (it doesn't burn well.)

(Carol) Euless, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes. I want them. We will always take rocks.

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

If no one else wants them, I'll take some landscape timbers.

I'm always marking off beds or separating different areas.

oops, just saw someone else wants them; please disregard!

CovenantGarden - do you have a way to get rocks home from the swap? These are very large (3 ft across, 10 inches thick) and very heavy. If no one has a way to transport, I will clear the corner of my corner lot and pile them there to keep semis from running over the corner that was once a flower bed. I need to clear the trailer and could then pick up landscape timbers. They are limestone and not suitable for ponds or watergardens.

(Carol) Euless, TX(Zone 8a)

Gypsi, we do have a very tough pickup that would haul them, but I don't know how we'd get them from your trailer into our truck if they are that heavy. My husband is stout, but would still need help. We only live about 8 miles from the Round-up. If you really don't want them, you could come by our place before the Round-up and we'll unload them here. Easier to flip them out than to lift up into a truck. We would use them along the curb to keep people from driving up in our yard. The road curves in front of our house and people tend to straighten it out. If you decide to keep them and use on your place, that's okay too. How many rocks are there?

Fort Worth, TX

I'm not sure how many there are. My guys pulled them out of a pond, and I was on another job during the demo. It took 3 very large young men to lift one, (for several of them) so no, your husband doesn't stand a chance. I need some for my corner, so before we talk about this more, let me try to get a few off when I get home from work today, and then maybe I can see what is underneath.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

Anyone want a strawberry bush (euonymus americanus)?

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL! sounds tempting

Lewisville, TX(Zone 7b)

Patrob, if you have any Mexican hat's left I would love some....let's say 6?? They are one of my fav's!!

Lewisville, TX(Zone 7b)

Gypsi, I would LOVE more rocks if it's not too much trouble & certainly not too big!! I am bringing seeds so I will be more than happy to give some to you!!

Lewisville, TX(Zone 7b)

Gypsi, I don't have a truck, just my PT so it sounds like I am out of luck for the rocks.....hmmm... I hate to "let them go"!! hahahahaha

Arlington, TX

'Sylvia I have the prairie verbena but not the game cock iris, that was someone else.
Cheryl

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Cindy, I have a couple of extra Mexican hats that I will put your name on.

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Who was it that wanted a Trailing Lantana? My TL has given me a volunteer so I can pot it up for whoever wants it.

Carla

Arlington, TX

Dennis, the sundew is looking poorly but I will bring it anyway as they often have good recovery after transplanting. Do you have any Saracennia? I have a small pot of what I think is Judith Hindle if you would like it.
C

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

The gamecock iris is mine. I am not sure I'm going to be able to bring any, though. May have to wait until fall.

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

Does anyone have more gayfeather? I use to have that, and it really did well out here. Several, if possible.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

I am very interested in the pitcher plant Cheryl. Thanks!

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Carla, trailing lantana is on my wish list, and I'd love to have another.

Sybil, I have gayfeather (Liatris mucronata) and will dig some for you.

Fort Worth, TX

I would love some ferns, thank you Sylvia. I'd best do another few white buddleia cuttings tomorrow after work. Ran out of potting soil.

On the rocks, I think the only way to move them is to roll/tilt off trailer, and I got in from work after dark tonight, and couldn't even look, much less hitch up. Will see what happens between now and sunday, if convenient to bring, I will bring, if not, well, it's a lot more work than snipping a cutting. They are huge and only dump-off-able.
