O.K. Pat Iris for you as well.
2013 N Central TX RU April 21st in Arlington #2 TRADE
Pat, I have a small S. penstemonoides for you. You have been so generous with your seedlings, its yours if you wish.
C
Thank you, Josephine!
Thank you, Cheryl!
This is a very generous bunch of gardeners, and I'm happy to share what I have in return. lol I never thought ALL those seeds would grow, and it's a good thing some of you are giving them spots to grow.
Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would ever be asking this......but does anyone have any purple heart wandering jew to thin out?? My dogs destroyed mine long ago. The Neighborhood Police Dept where I volunteer needs something to grow in their window beds along the front of the building. They say at one time they had Purple Heart and it worked great until a contractor destroyed it. I will be happy to take any cuttings just in trash bags to root, no need to pot up.

Sheila, I have some growing between a sidewalk and my house (only way to contain it). I will break some off Sunday morning and bring to you.
I will bring as many iris as I can (and that's a lot.) I have a very successful reproductive rate around here.
Meantime, I was horrified to find out what our Texas Senate has planned for those of us with Backyard chickens, or small farms. I'll try to catch up post reading after I'm done sending out petition links. Info in another post
Thank you for the iris, Gypsi and Josephine! I know you like natives and I can easily dig the purple winged loosestrife Broncbuster gave me long ago, some snake herb and/or pink salvia greggi.
Thanks for the purple heart covenantgarden. Anyone else have some? There is about 60 foot of frontage at the Police Dept. that needs plants.
I have a dilemma! Mark's back is out of whack and I've been recovering from a strep infection which has thrown me for a loop. I will be digging plants today and tomorrow, but may not get everything dug that people have asked for. I still plan on coming, but Mark is questionable since I'm not sure how mobile he'll be. I hope you all understand!!
I am sorry Stephanie, don't worry about the plants, I hope you can make it.
Sheila, I have plenty of purple heart and I'll bring a batch.
Lol Sylvia,
I think I could landscape Texas with all the Irises at my house as well (I really need to thin them), I will however take some for my dad -- I know he'd love to have some for his house in FW.
Thank you,
Kate
Sheila, I will look, but I think mine only has one sprout up right now. It has never done much for me.
Course, if you wanted some creeping jenny or carpet sedum instead... (LOL).
Stephanie.... So sorry about Mark, tell him to stay home so he can take it easy. If you need help digging, loading, etc. tomorrow please call me. I don't have plans to do anything but last minute tagging and sorting, and I am close.
Steadycam....Thanks Marty I appreciate it.
Pbtxlady.... They just wanted the purple heart but thanks! BTW...I can't find the hellebores in all my weeds! Bring it in the fall.
Sorry I let this thread get so long...too late to start another now!
*****Reminder*****
*Those of you returning know that we put plants on TOP of the table that are up for new trading.
*The pre-traded items you bring go UNDERNEARTH that person's spot.
*****New****
I am marking a table as ORPHAN PLANTS this year. We cannot take turns with so many people, but I will ask that you:
*Tell newcomers about the table and to check it often!
*Place any plants you don't want trades for and don't want to take home again on this table (hopefully labeled).
*Returning members please wait until AFTER door prizes to make your orphan selection.
I am one person so I should bring one door prize, maybe a pair of gardening gloves? or an IRIS? LOL
Yes, bring one door prize for yourself and if you have a guest, bring one for them also. We will have a few extras in case some one forgets; we want everyone to leave with something.
Excellent advice Sheila, also please bring a wagon if you have it, it helps a lot for carrying plants back and forth.
Patrob, if you still have plenty of Mexican Hats, I would love a few. I have one, and it does so well here.
Sybil, I can't make the trip back to the ranch today to dig more, but perhaps I can bring you some in the fall.
THANK YOU Patrob I have a special place for those MH!!! hahahaha.
I will bring pots, a few LA iris' & some seeds, as I don't have much TX native plants as y'all do!! hahahahaha
See you tomorrow!!!
That will be fine, Patrob. Thanks.
Josephine, did you ever get back to me about where you saw the yellow weeds that Steadycam wanted? I gotta get them potted.
Who wanted dill?
I did, Stephanie, but I was at Calloway's the other day and grabbed one. Thank you anyway. I haven't gotten my cumin seeds potted up yet, but I have plenty of seeds if you'd like some. I hope you're feeling better!
Does anyone have any basil seedlings left? I had promised to root some for my dad, but my plant is too old and woody and I can't get it to root any more.
Cumin (cilantro) has to be planted in the fall. It bolts in the heat.
I'll bring some dill for others who may want some as well as seeds.
Pattie, I still have plenty of little bitty basil seedlings: Italian large leaf, lemon, lime, and cinnamon.
Sybil it was in back of your horse pen and all over the back woods, the ones with the tiny yellow flowers, they call it Broomweed.
Thanks, Josephine. It's funny, but we don't have many "weeds" up yet. I'll look for it, though.
Patrob, I would like basil. I love that stuff, but my plant man didn't have his in when I was over there.
Which kind(s), Sybil? I am just about to carry your box out to the car, but I think I can wedge a little more in there. :) When I finished potting up the Mexican hats, I discovered a couple with little plants right next to them and marked those for you.
lol Now I've just got to figure how to get all these boxes plus big bags of goat poo, into a CR-V.
I got everything potted up except for the Coneflowers for Steadycam and the Crinums. I just don't have the oomph to dig those crinums up at this time. On the coneflowers, I couldn't find any babies, which is odd because I'm usually overrun with them.
Pat, just strap the poop to the top!
lol Stephanie My oomph is gone too! In fact, it has been gone for a long time. :(
Thanks, Pat. Any kind is great. I don't have any in yet this year.
Josephine and Steadycam,
Girls, I just don't believe it's out there yet. Take a look. Those big stalks from last year are what you're talking about, I think. No, those were your cow pen daisies, weren't they? OK, I see lots of those little thin dried up stalks from last year, but nothing similar to that coming up now. A lot of the stuff has little pink or white flowers on it, not yellow. A weed is a weed is a weed to me, you know. Sorry girls, don't mean to offend. If you spot it in the pics, I'll go get some real quick.
I know it's not those little brown things. I KNOW what that is. lol
Josephine, you had Frank take a picture of you sitting on a log or farm implement in the middle of the broom weed I think. It was past the horsepen, down a trail to the right then left. It was just before where we stepped into the wooded area & walked toward the fence along the ravine.

Lots of cowpen daisy seedlings in the first pic, Sybil. The broomweed was out past the horse pen.
Stephanie....I would love dill from you. My fennel didn't come back this year and didn't plant the dill early enough. I have what I think is a pink Turks cap for you.
Kate...I did finally catch the Date tree request...you got it.
Sheila, I have a dill for you. They don't usually transplant well, so I'll bring some seeds, too. I found one little dill with a baby cat on it. They're everywhere in my yard!
That's SO cool, Stephanie.
