Sweet Interruptions # 255

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Nice job Susan...She will love it I'm sure.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!
Coffee is ready!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

say - why did the "Lightbox" stuff show up in my post? I thought it was the picture, and the "lightbox" part would disappear when the picture showed up.....
d'ya think I can edit it out without losing the picture?

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning Ladies,

Still not feeling too well, and I'm bored as all get out. I think I've watched everything there is to watch on tv. Had to give out names to 3-b house swap now back to bed....oh yeah now Doug is sick, and he is the biggest baby when he's sick ugh

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

ugh, indeed!

Well, here I am cutting backing for a baby quilt (yikes....... hope I didn't cut too large a piece!)
I've cut too small before, because I didn't want to waste it, now I'm "over cutting" and hope the leftovers are large enough to use!!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Praying for Dad, Lk....love to you all!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks Cookie!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Men, men, men! In the Old Testament days, women were sent to a special hut to wait out their menstrual cycle.
Men should have a hut for when they're sick! We'll be spared of their whining.
Get better soon Cindy.
You too Cookie.

Lots of warm drinks.. and Gatorade in between!

So proud of you Susan. Glad that the fabric didn't overwhelm your baby quilt. It looks beautiful!
2 days? Wow! You can hold a quilting retreat for sure, and keep us focus on our projects.

Still praying for your Dad, LK and your family for support and strength. Lord will see you all through this.

I have came up with 2 'snowball' adaptations. If you look closely, they're slightly different.
One is 'erect'. The other is wonky. The wonky one shows movement, and I know this will take time as there'd be more steps and cuttings.
Tell me what you think.
I shall go back to the drawing board and think of the girls....

I love the "wonky" one, Jaye!

As for being focused - it helps when my DH says "stay comfy, and do what you like". And I like Quilting!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Me too, Susan!! I've already sewn the balls!!
Just got to make a template for the wonky to be squared up.
Kel's like that too. Aren't we lucky!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, those are both pretty, but I like the wonky one too!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yes, but I usually don't "allow" myself this kind of time.... Yes, we're both blessed in our DHs (but don't tell Them that!!)

It's Bob's birthday on Wed, and when it was announced at Church, Margaret said "now that he's older, we'll have to be more respectful of him" I said "Not!!" lol

Oh, and I "sandwiched" the baby quilt and turned it right side out - now just to handsew the opening, and start quilting!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yeah, I think the "wonky" one has more character - not so "erect", and therefore more FUN!
Babies are all about Fun, aren't they?!

the best babies are the ones you can give back when they poop or cry . :)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I heard that!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

rofl Sue!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

hahaha LK!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That's funny Sue, but you are right!
Watch this 6yr. old break dance. I think it should be illegal to have this competition for below teens. She's still a baby!

Kel surprised me this evening. Yep, he planted the 2 maple trees!! Not a fuss, nor a cuss... quietly doing what's instructed. Even placing the drainage stones first in the holes.
Ehem.. of course, I held the flashlight!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Love that video Jaye.

Glad to hear your tree's are planted. Must have worked hard holding that flashlight.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

What a nice surprise for Kel to do for you!!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Glad to hear the trees are planted Jaye. I'm wishing they do well for you...

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning sistahs!
One more tree to plant, and this one should be easier. Just have to plant the Smoke tree in the middle of the asiatic lily bed.. where the ground is much more softer.
Well.... Mr. Kel decided this morning to surprise me by doing a chore that's NOT on the list.
He trimmed my Louisiana Cypress lower branches 4 ft. off the ground!
It lost its' beauty!!!! These trees should be gracefully draping and the lowest limbs should be at the most 2 ft. off the ground.Yes
I didn't know about it till I went in the yard this morning. He was already at the oncologist's office, called him up and all he said was... the tree will be fine!!
Yes, I'm regally pissed!!!
There's another Cypress tree that escaped his trimmer, as it's in another area. For sure, I'd be putting up a warning sign!

Gonna sew my anger away. I know it's just a tree, but there's a reason for me not to put tree trimming on his do-list!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

siiiiiiiiiiigh - he has to become an arborist, Jaye - sign him up for classes!!!
Sewing is GOOD therapy, sistah! Very productive...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh no! Sorry Jaye! Are you working on the baby blankets?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I had called him 3 more times since I last posted Susan. All he did was laugh.. it made me more upset!!

Trying to LK. Now I'm told there's another baby boy's quilt to add to the 4.
Think I'll start handing out contraceptives!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL! It is spring time!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

MEN! Well, let it go to God, Jaye - better that Kel laughs at anger than to reciprocate in kind - then you'd both be angry......... IMHO
Bob & I do that........... one acts coy (he does it too, y'know!) and the other's anger dissipates....
When I get fretful, he just laughs and tells me there's no need to fret - he's there for me....... Sometime of course he laughs and it's not funny!! And I tell him so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good to get my venting out on him too - I have to be honest with him about my anger, then that helps me too :-)

good work out at the gym. PT gave me some stretches and wow !!!!!!! he twisted me like a pretzel ! and it was painful but wow i can feel the difference !
oh and to have that eye candy man, doing the things he did to my body * blushing* LOL no it wasn't like that girls ! you all got dirty minds . But it was nice to get some much needed massage on my shoulder.
my soup came out yukky . i don't like boxed broth :( i just can't get a taste for it.
so i had a burrito for dinner LOL
Oh Jaye that was so nice of Kel to do the tree's for you. but oh my so aggrevating at the same time ?
Tim is taking us to an Lodge with an indoor water park . we will have a family fun weekend . IT will be the weekend of Jessica's 1 yr anniversary. they have a bar too !!! woooohooooo.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I can believe that the weekend of the anniversary is going to be ....... difficult.
I was thinking about this earlier today, and praying for you, the twins, and Tim. You're in my thoughts more than you know. Bless you, Sue, for being you, and keeping her memory alive in your family.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

lost y'all again, finally found ya.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

WHEW....... Kathy - you are One Busy Lady........ and with 4 sick kids and your own sick head....!!
Glad you found us!

I dmailed Marti (Dorothy's sister) because of the Round Robin Dorothy was in, wondering if Marti had found some of the centers that hadn't been sent to the "next in line". Marti said she found what looked like vase quilt blocks. I think those may have been from the tea/coffee cup swap if Dorothy was in it. Anyway, I d-mailed her a picture of the cup center you sent me, so maybe she can put them together in remembrance of Dorothy...... IF Dorothy was in it. I wasn't, so I don't know.......

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, I don't see her name on the cup block swap? Not for sure what blocks she has?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Well, maybe it IS vases..... Marti wasn't sure, and I never saw a picture of them.
Marti was at her niece's place and using her computer, so I would guess she's not going to be on much. I thought she was only going to be able to get on at the library, so this was a plus :-)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning sistahs.
Sis Kathy, you are truly one busy lady.
Perhaps this year, you'd cut back on your farm animals. Please, we don't want you to burn with not enough me and rest time.

Sue, it's very sensitive of Tim to take you all to a lodge and have happy times on Jessie's anniversary.
Replace sadness with smiles and laughter.
Thanks to you..I pan seared the cauliflower with mustard seeds and onions last night, and it did caramelize.
With what's left of the vege, I'm doing a tempeh curry later.

Too upset right now to post further. I had earlier typed at least 1,000 words and all of a sudden, DG brought me back to the homepage!
Maybe it's God trying to tell me to calm down and not say anything I'd regret later.

Gonna try to sew. LK, Susan.. I may fudge the original plans, but the blocks will still be wonky.
Will show you all once I'm through with a top.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Kathy, sorry to hear your all sick, but I need to ask what it means, the goat is starting to bag?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

trying to phone you, Jaye - no answer?!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

The goat is getting it's Bag (would be udder in a female).
I'm guessing they're not born with a bag.....

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I would take it from Kathy's comment that the goat might be bred and will be delivering soon. That is usually what "getting it's bag" implies down here. Could be wrong.

Jaye, I do believe sometimes we lose our post because it would come back later to haunt yes. Just my weird theory.

Cool here today but the wind is rough! March is definitely roaring around this part of the state.

Well the Othro doc said I can now drive down to see mom. One condition...I have to stop every hour and walk around. This could make a very long trip to what is a 7+ hour trip this time of year. Spring breakers have I-75 really congested now.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Driving one hour at a time can take a long time for sure! Sounds like your knee is doing better?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Marion, I miss you!!
You're still not out of the danger zone, don't be driving too much. I rather Kim drives for you.
