Sue, I just can't understand why people keep exotic pets. Perhaps they want to be a world above ordinary folks?
Kel's cousin runs a business breeding snakes, but she claims none are of the poisonous variety. We don't believe her! We don't try to visit her neither!

Barb, your masterpiece looks more like a quilt sampler. Such a beautiful work.
Last crosstitch project I did was in the 70s!! Been tempted to pick up needle and thread, but I think I'll stick to crochet when I don't feel like quilting.

One of my potted amaryllis that blossomed! Cats can't get to the pots as they're in the crafts room!

Love that bloom, I have one that is about to open too. Supposed to be a red one.
Thanks for the new room Jaye!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Beautiful amaryllis, Jaye!!

Happy March Y'all

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

March is national craft month, so put your thinking caps on, and craft something.
My Easter basket for a swap coming up.

That's so pretty, LK! Did you do the basket too? I love the eggs. Especially the purple one.
Crafts month.. yep.. I've already washed more fabric. Will be doing a baby quilt soon. Is Ayrica expecting a boy or a girl? I don't remember. But I got fabrics that are neutral for her.

I had got the amarylli when they went on sale @ Holland's. 2 Appleblossoms and a giant bulb, Minerva.
The Minerva is starting to bloom, but looks like it's gonna be smaller than the regular ones.

Someone had kindly given me a Minerva through a swap.. somehow that bulb rots on me. So, I ordered the Minerva, and the bulb the company sent was rotting too!! Holland was good as to replace it.
I'd love to get an orange one next.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes. I made the basket too!

Ayrica is having a boy.

I don't normally have luck with growing them, this is the first one in a long time, that has grown. I won this one on Facebook.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I think I'm going to do a basket cake for the church (Fellowship after the service.).
Made one years ago for my sister's birthday, and she still talks about it lol
This is what it should look like

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That is so pretty, Susan!!
You'd be sure to have lots of oohs and ahhhs.

Isn't it nice to be able to enjoy a bloom indoors right smack in winter, LK?
Amaryllis grows easily outside for me. Will transplant these bulbs once the flowers are over.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Jaye - the fabric you sent - red with gold stars - that will be the backing, and some of the block pieces for the Filipino baby quilt I'm making :-)

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Who decided they would send this blast of cold air down our way? Please take it back.

pretty flower Jaye.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'll take the cold air if you will take the snow Marion!!!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Hummm, let me think about that for a minute...no thanks. :-)

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Sue - come have some sushi with me! Bob bought some for me tonight :-)

Hey Marion - that was a Real Fast minute, wasn't it? Are you SURE you thought it through? LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

ROFL!!!
That changed your mind fast, eh Marion? LOL!!
I'll keep the cold air too, as long as snow isn't accompanying it.

Oh Barb, soon you'd be facing muddy, wet grounds. Don't envy you one bit.

Sue that baby quilt will be so pretty!! I found out last night that I have to make 2 more baby quilts!!!

Morning sistahs.
Yes, it's a tad cold here and the sun will soon heat up the house!

Hot chicory coffee and beignets!! Yah, going Cajun for breakfast!

Sue, back to healthy eating soon for me too. I had cooked beef Bulgogi the day before (thanks to you), yesterday it was oven baked BBQ pork.. still avoided cooking a good pot of vegetable soup!
All these meat eating is making me lethargic.
For Kel's meals, I have to cook meat protein and heavier carbos as he can't be snacking all day at work.
Wish there's a JJ here. Have fun there Sue.

Cindy, come out of hiding please. Need some pictures of garden art ideas.

Sis Kathy, have you started to pack yet?

Not much planned for the day, except for cutting and getting more fabric prepared.
I had asked Kel to TRY to help me with spring cleaning the garden.. looks like it's gonna be a solo project for me.

Have a beautiful Saturday sistahs..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jax, if your lurking, just wanted to say Happy Birthday to you! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Waving!! Sickie here. Dang it. On antibiotics and had a cortizone shot. I've been coughing so hard that my ribs hurt. Been thinking about you all and missing you, too!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Cookie, sorry to hear your not feeling well! Praying all the meds and shots will make you feel better soon!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Cookie, you just need a good dose of sunshine! Notice I didn't say "warm air" as that isn't to be.
Please take care of yourself....I feel for your poor sides.

Yeap, Susan that was indeed a full minute. Better check your watch it may not be working right. :-)

Slow Saturday at this house also...do need to make a trip to the grocery store as we are out of several staple items. Bummer, now I have to get dressed!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Can't send any warmth your way either Cookie, but can wish you a speedy recovery.

Happy Birthday Jax!! That chocolate cake looks good LK.
Think I'll grab a piece.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Jaye - 2 baby quilts for you to do? Please show when you're in progress...... who are they for?

Happy Birthday, Joyce!! Hope you're feeling better soon...... 2 reasons to pamper yourself - birthday and el sicko! Please take care.

Jax - Happy Birthday! - enjoy some Baileys with that cake, k?

Marion - my watch is working fine, just thought maybe you'd moved to New York, as in "faster than a New York Minute!!" lol

It's a quilting day for me - I'm really going Great Guns on it. all cut (HST), and 8 blocks fully done. 30 total, so still have 22 to go! So quick, too........ Might have the squares all cut by end of day, and part of the top assembled?!?!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Susan, actually there should be 3!
One for a Cubiteer, another for my BFF's first grandbaby and hopefully Kel's 2nd cousin will get his before he's married (LOL)!
Cut some squares.. now on to cutting rectangle pieces.

Sorry Susan.. I tend to shorten Susan to Sue :D

Jaye - you're mixing Sue & I up again....... lol

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hi Ladies,
Jaye not hiding.....been sick and in bed since Wed. afternoon. Still not feeling up to par, very weak and chest is congested. So I haven't done anything out in the yard, but I need to soon my two flats of flowers are dying..........

One of my girlfriends is selling her house. So she's been cleaning out "junk"......she told me she had some vases for me for my glass totems.....Well when I get to her house she has tons of stuff to give me. Filled the back of my 4runner up, then she came Wednesday morning with more stuff, and tells me that if they buy a modular home (they come with washer, dryer and frig) she is giving me her washer, dryer and frig.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Cindy, sorry your not feeling well, seems to be a lot of this crud going around.
Hope your feeling better soon. Wow, that is nice of your girlfreind to give you all that stuff!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Cindy - you obviously need your rest...... take care of yourself, hon!!
Yaaaaaaay for freebies from your girlfriend!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.
Update on Dad...
As you all know he had surgery on his leg to replace a vein, and it was not healing, so he was admitted to a nursing home. Just yesterday, my Sister was informed that the toe they removed has a massive infection in it, so it looks like he may have to have the foot removed. Just lack of circulation is making things bad for him. Asking for prayers for him please?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

OMG Linda. That is sad news. Norm and I will both be keeping him in our prayers. and you and Todd as well as all your family.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thank you Barb!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Goodness.. diabetes is a very deadly disease. We will certainly do some serious praying for your dad, LK.

sending prayers for your dad LK. sure hope they can manage hs infecton

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I hope they can control it of, and yes, it can be a deadly disease. So Jaye, please take your meds, and please watch any sores that may develope, especially on your feet.
Years ago, my ex sister in law was type one diabetic. She stepped on a thorn, and did not know it as her feet were numb most of the time. She sat down one night to watch tv, took off her shoes to relax and her daughter told her she had a massive sore. By the time she went to the Dr. It was too late, they tried by amputating to the knee, but the infection took over and took her life.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks so much for your heartfelt concern LK. My grandmother had to face amputation, and she had a heart attack when told.
Paternal grandfather had both feet amputated at the knees. And so did my maternal uncle.

I'm one of the lucky ones, my doctor can tell you. Even though I have diabetic neuropathy in my feet, and they do have that tingling sensation 24/7. Yet, the soles are VERY sensitive to any touch. Even the nurses expressed their surprise.
My doctor would test my feet with my eyes close, I would feel all pressure. Almost kicked his face one day, that's how sensitive my feet are.
I pray it stay this way till I die.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Wooohooooo!! Now I have FOUR baby quilts to do!!
Another BFF, in Louisiana, welcome her first grandbaby Mia, today!
Got to get my butt in gear! Ehem.. thank God I do have some P fabric!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Let me kmow if you need more pink fabric Jaye!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks LK :D Actually, I do have a stash of P fabric that I thought of sending them to Thunder.
Glad that didn't happen, yet. So now, I have 2 girls and 2 boys to please.
Think I'll just get neutral baby stuffs from now.

Cindy, hope you're feeling better sistah. I pray you don't succumb to guts wrenching coughs.

Kel says it's going around again at his work place. I got a can of Lysol ready when he gets through the door!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

LK - SO sad to hear about your dad's new worry. I will pray long and hard for him.

Hey - look what I just finished tonight - after only 2 days!
Our friend and his wife had a baby in Sept, and I just got this top done........ they're moving in 2 weeks, so have to have it to them right away!

I have the batting cut, and the backing is the red with stars, just like the border and some of the blocks. Jaye sent the star material to me!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Love the pinwheel block Susan, beautiful colors!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

The pattern is called Broken Dishes.
I just can't believe I got this much done in 2 days....... of "quilt days" lol
It's for a Filipino lady's baby. Jaye said the Red and Gold are considered good luck for a baby.
She sent me the red/stars material.
