Seeded callous he said is a callous that has been there for a long time, and due to the pressure of me walking on it, it has seeded itself, deep in the tissue. he can scrape off the top portion, but it will always keep coming back!

Don't go barefooted, even in the house. Socks will help relieve some pressure.
LK, Kim has the same problem from being on her feet most of the day. Not good but she pampers herself with all kinds of nice smelling soaks and it seems to help her. So pamper youself!!!
Besides the house smells either of peppermint or lavendar!!!

muffin is doing fine after a half asprin and a nap. he was just tramatized. the vet told him to man up!
Oh, I can't stand to go barefoot, it hurts too much! if I don't have my shoes on, I have slippers on! The Dr. told me to soak my feet, and use the pumice stone at least once a week. So I think I will get the wax machine out, dust it off, and put it to good use!
LOLOL!!!! Sis Kathy, that's what the vet told Kel when taking care of Lola's nails yesterday!!
"Who's the man?"
Kel just said he can't donate any more blood!!
A good peppermint soak refresh tired muscles too Marion.
....as does lavender.
muffin man be da man. he can be a mean little rascle for 5 pounds when he wants to be.
oh, That's what a seeded callus is....... wel, apparently left it too long, m'lady!
Afternoon sistahs!! Sun's shining and I took advantage of it this morning.
Had a good walk in my garden, and envisioning how it would look like when the maple trees mature and.. did I tell you all that my church sister got me a purple Smoke Tree? Well she did, and besides the 2 maple trees, Kel has another laborous chore on his list! Hmm.. but lucky for him the ground's still too wet for any digging. (Might pay a neighbour if I want things done)
Had a good time last night by myself. Watched a slew of recorded crime and cooking shows. Think I'll go nuts without my ID and Cooking channels.
Something easy for lunch. A good ole fashion BLT for Kel and me-- a Lean Cuisine lunch today.
Have a wonderful humpday!
Love those purple smoke tree's Jaye, they are so pretty. You have an awesome friend to give you so many lovely things!
I've known her now for 10 years. Still the only friend I have around here. She gave me her heart, LK. That's the most wondrous gift of all.
Let me tell you all a true story about this precious friend.
When I joined Kel's dad's church, I sat in the back with her.
Her clothings are all thrift store bought, I was told by... err... ____ (fill in the blanks there).
We got to be real close as she's very learned in the bible and oh so humble and loves to garden.
Well, you could say that we both don't belong in the big clique of that church. (We have both moved to another church for 3 years now)
But hey, I prayed for a friend, and who am I to turn down love from her.
I was also warned by _________ not to associate with her as she's poor.. so on and so forth... and her family is low class redneck!! Nope, I chose to ignore her.
When I got my plants or bulbs from co-ops here, I'd share with her. And if I see any roosters I think she'd like, I'll get them for her. Expecting nothing in return.
Well sistahs, when the business crumbled, Carolyn's the only one in Tabor City that lifted me up and surprised me with plants and even clothes for me. She even offered $$$, and I'm not talking of few pennies!
If she don't have a single cent, I would still love her. I'm not into profits when it comes to friendship.
God teaches us not to judge a book by its' cover.
Now that certain ________ has regretted shunning Carolyn.
Love this Jaye. So sad but so true about people......always quick to judge a person on what they have or have not. When did we as a society lost the ability to see people for themselves?
I agree, you can't judge a book by it's cover. I would much rather have a down to earth poor person for a friend, than one that has money and flaunts it!
We grew up with very poor parents, and it is amazing how much one can learn from being poor. That is where I learned a lot of my sewing and crafting from. Because we had too!
I so agree, Marion. Society has much to teach the young ones when it comes to compassion.
Stereotyping by one's appearance is only done by ignorants!!!
Yes you are so right LK. We learnt a lot from parents who taught us the value of relationships and not material goods.
My grandparents in their own rights were wealthy. We grew up with a lived in servant who for the longest time we thought was our aunt. Until she retired and returned home. She wasn't treated as a help as us kids have our own chores and mum did the cooking. "Auntie's" duties were laundry duty (no appliances then) and look after grandma.
These grandparents had it real bad during WW2, and their experience taught them humility which was passed on to the their grandchildren.
And how did grandpa recovered his fortunes? He always reminded us that he had to be a thief to survive in post war!!
When the British ran away to escape the Japanese, him and his brother went around the British oppulent homes and STOLE their silverware.
Lolol!! You could say I was raised in a den of thieves.
I can remember making all my clothes from the sacks my dad bought feed for the livestock. Wish I had some of those now......worth a small penny but more importantly great quilting fabrics. You can still buy them but they are so beyond my budget!!
Nope, money is not everything......I much rather see the person than their trappings!!!!
Would you believe I've never seen feedsacks, Marion!
good morning
Jaye great story.
i have seen feedsacks as purses and they are pretty cute . I think feed saks are different these days ?? don't know really. Marion are they burlap ?
well we got snow last night about 3 " and it was not expected either ??? not this amount . well maybe the 11 pm news had it on but went to bed at 9 pm
so its an inside kind of day for me. gonna make me some veggie broth.
y'know Sue - I think you're right - feed sacks are now burlap.
You have to look very carefully to find the old sacks they used to put flour and sugar in, but those were very popular for making clothing and quilts, a long time ago.
Barb, sistah, as much as I love you, I will turn down your offer to share your snow! It's good only for pictures!
Love that cross stitch piece. How long did it take for you to finish that, Barb?
I asked Kel about feedsack cloths. He told me that his dad was bad at reminding women his generation, when their mothers would sew them feedsack panties and some still had the print "5 pounds of the Finest" on the rears!!
Most feed they my sister purchases comes in paper bags.....not to often finding any in burlap. Back when it was really nice heavy cotton and the highlight of my week was to go to the feed store to make sure dad bought several bags alike so I could use it for clothing. Now I wish I had some pictures of the dresses......and to think 60+ later I would love to have them. Not when I was younger. LOL
Keep the snow but send the pictures please.
I worked on the Xstitch off and on since last Oct. I only worked on it in the mornings while Norm and I had our coffee together and once in a while when I really wanted a break from quilting. I always have something started for my hands to work on when I'm watching tv...
I just don't understand why none of you want this snow!!! It is sooo pretty (sometimes!!!!)
blech - I don't want any more snow! Not having as much as you, apparently, but I'm TOO used to snow............
you can keep your snow. :) as much as i appreciate the offer. I will let you keep it all to yourself.
most of it melted by 5 pm today. so its a yukky mess of mud and slush
i just got grocery and my springrolls didn't turn out to good :( bummer. I baked them. I m sure if i fried them they would have been awesome but i can't do them fried foods :( i need the rice wrappers and not the egg wrapers. will have to look for them
no soup today.
watched two documentaries today Frankensteer and Elephant in The Living Room. that was about exotic animals as pets. oh how sad it was to see the animals being auctioned and sold. baby tigers. monkeys ect.. snakes too. oh my gosh they were selling Puff Adders !!! what the @#$!#T%$#%@#$#$W@^&&*$%^$# does a person need one of them. Top of the worlds most venomous snakes !!! ummmmm splain to me please !
Big business here in midwest too. Pennsylvania and Ohio have two of the largest auctions of exotic animals... :(
Sue, I agree with you, people should not be allowed to have wild exotic animals. Especially dangerous and poisonous like snakes and tigers.
