# Sweet Interruptions no. 254 #

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thank you Sue. It's in the low 30s here, no rain for me to fuss about!
Now I know what use is in store for Kel when my time draws near.
Being he's 11 years my junior and has all the experience of looking after the bed ridden... he'd be my rock.
UNLESS, he decided to place me in a nursing home! Then, I'll definitely haunt him in the afterlife!

Serious as a heart attack, Cindy! Lol!! We have always call each other that.
When I first came down to the states, Oline wasn't too keen on me as she's good friends with Harris' ex wife.
She had started a slander, and I warned her that if she were to continue with spreading lies, I'd sue her.
That stopped forever, and we've been best buddies since.
Her kids at first had a hard time calling me aunt Jaye, as they're older than me!! But the respect and love continues till now.

And why shouldn't I call her a "Wide Ass"? Hers is soooo wide that you have to remove the door jamb just to let her in!!
Ahhh.. having tears recalling the laughter...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Are you all sleeping in?

This was last week end, the kids moved the stroller and furniture around and was playing fort with the quilts. They had so much fun!

Morning LK!
It don't take much to make Dylan happy! Look at that smile.
He'll soon be walking and then mama and daddy will be playing hide and seek!

Starts to rain here. Nothing exciting going on.
Except for the usual noise from the cats!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I be here LK. Have a sinus infection and just feeling lousy. Then everyone is having some sort of illness with this strange weather pattern we have all experienced!

Well ladies I guess I was over indulging with my late hubby! It was so rare he was actually really sick that I would spoil him silly.....well worth it too. :-) Wish I could do it again...miss the guy so much.

LK as long as I do the exercises and apply the ointment the doctor gave me, the knee is tolerable. Driving very much still is troublesome but hopefully that will pass soon. I see the doctor again March 5th and will know more then about where we go from here. I also limit the number of times I go up or down the stairs.

It is in the 60s here today but a good steady rain has been going on since about 9:30ish and if the weather man is to be believed (which I doubt) it is to continue through Sunday. Kim is at a conference in Orlando so I am using this time to seriously do some cleaning out of cupboards in the kitchen and other places. She invited me to go but riding that far in her car is just plain uncomfortable for me. Can't stretch my legs out as well as I can in mine SUV.

Back to work for me...........

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to see you posting Marion. Sure hope you can get rid of that sinus infection quickly!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

LK, I think the worst is over with just tire easier than before . Have a lots of coughing at night but what else is new?

awww how cute them little ones are
oh my sinus infecton not fun , get better soon.
Marion so sorry to hear your mssing hm so much . sending a special prayer to you. hugs too

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

you're a wonderful SIL, Jaye - Bless you for keeping her in your heart!

Good to see you posting, Marion - sorry to hear you're "down" with a sinus infection....... yuck!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

So, you want us to get nothing for the gathering, Sue? That can be done. Your link doesn't work sistah!

Thank you Susan. Think we all here have the same attitude when it comes to in-laws. Be good to me, and I'll make it worth your time ;)

Marion, that's why I prefer trucks. Easy on these old legs and easier for my body to swing in and out of one!
So sorry that you can't move around as much as you want to. In a way, it's a blessing that you've retired from the garden club.
You'd never give that knee time to heal.

I've been chewing on candied ginger to help with the mucus. Ran out of it, and now, I'm making ginger tea.
Wonder if I could warm up some Vicks, and inhale that!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Marion, I forgot to add, Ross was one of those rare men.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Well I don't know how rare but he was certainly what I needed for a husband and life partner. Days like today just makes me miss you more....but he is actually here with me.

Jaye, I could never have done the festival with my knee in this shape....not unless they would have designated one golf cart just for my use and that would have been impossible. Sad to say, I am not hearing good reports about the show lately. Major changes and the vendors are really unhappy and dropping out. Oh well, they will find others I am sure.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sending hugs your way Marion...

Kel and ex are like apples and oranges. 2 completely different beings when ill.
Ex don't care to be coddled, but he would heed my suggestions, and if anything serious, he'd seek a doctor asap.
Kel.. he's just the opposite.

Looks like the organization is lost without you. You should have left them with a manual!!! Lol!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

No they aren't lost without me...just think grouping like vendors together will create more sales......NOT!!!!

It is still raining and now they say the front could produce any where from 3 to 5+ inches before it moves out. Flood warnings posted this afternoon.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh Marion............ hope the flooding isn't bad, and doesn't affect you and yours!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning sistahs.
Hot chocolate for this morning and donuts.
What do you know.. was thinking of getting that ark back from Marion.. but looks like I have to make my own pirogue!
Well Marion, we're facing another day of rain. At least it ain't snow. No flood warnings yet, and again.. Kel has this aha moment that he needed to fix the leaks in the greenhouse :(
(being sarcastic there)

Have a good Saturday sistahs.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning LK!
Looks like it's gonna be a good one for you, unless you're expecting rain or snow :D

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

good morning Y'all ^_^ I need more coffee!! got to search out some fabrics in purples...with sock monkeys on it ............anybody seen any????

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm the queen of purples, Thunder!!
BUT no sock monkeys!! :))
Have you searched online..

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

that's my next step.... and I may go to Joannes store and have another look...

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I did, Thunder.. there's blue... yellow.. but no purple!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

http://www.sewpractical.com/2012/10/sock-monkey-fabric.html
This has some sock monkey fabric, the monkeys are a grayish lavender. $8.99 yard. That's all I can find.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Where is the ark? Oh sorry Jaye, I see you are using it now. :-)
Susan, actually where I live is fine as far as flooding is concerned; however, the road to Quincy (where the GDs live) is very low in spots and it could flood. Still another way to get there but just the very long way around. Every things runs down our street, down our drive is is making a natural river bed where it runs on into the lake. That hopefully will be what my yardman will be helping me plant around. I can't dig nor bend that much with my knee and he is very good at doing it the way I like, Yeap, I am extremely fussy about how things are planted. :-)

No purple sock monkeys here either Thunder. BTW, I was cleaning out last night and found a bunch of patterns for little girls up size 8 (multi sized). Are you interested?

Well more rain so I guess I will put my galoshes on and puddle to get the mail. Oh yea, did have about a 20' by 10" diameter limb come down on the lower deck. Thankfully one crushed one chair...was going out anyways. How is that for luck?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Could have been so much worse Marion. I'm glad it only damaged a chair.
I'm sitting here watching it snow - again!!! We fed all the critters and birds really well this morning as they won't be out again until tomorrow afternoon. The storm we are getting now is not supposed to be as bad as they first thought so I'm hoping they are right this time......
Just came from Joanns up here Thunder and we didn't see any sock monkey fabric at all!!! Sorry....

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Yes Marion, if you send them I will gladly pay the postage ^_^

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Look at this Barb.. it's similar to the RWB row you've made for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjGifl2m_3k
I'm going to buy the binding tool. It's about $9. Yes, I'm bored and rain drove me to unnecessary online shopping!

No, Marion, I don't have the ark. Think Kathy got it. Seems LK is the only lucky one from the South that never need one.
What will you be adding to your garden Marion?
More hydrangeas? I saw some beautiful white ones and the "cityline' variety online and I'm tempted...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sure wish one of you could send some of that extra rain this way! Weatherman is predicting another hot drought for us this summer!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I told the Lord that I honestly appreciate all this cold rain we're getting. Suggested that Texans need it more.. but apparently He does things His way, LK.
Sorry.. hope He changes his mind soon.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks Jaye, you tried.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Don't give up sistah!
A little 'family' history.
During hurricane seasons, my ex' family would make a journey ask some Carmelite sisters or nuns at a convent, for prayers.
Hurricane Audrey had hit them in 1938 and they lost everything.. cattle.. house.. farm. Since then, they never failed to ask the nuns for prayers.
But in 1986, we didn't escape Andrew. Though there were destructions, we were blessed tho. As there was insurance and govt. help.
After that hit, ex' parents quit going to the convent.

Some of you need to check out the other building as to what's the latest on Mary.

the stupid link ddn't work again grrrr
hope you don't get hit with to much flooding.
its a hands free wine necklace. but my link won't come up

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Loved that link Jaye. Thanks..... Will give it a shot soon.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Barb, I found a binding tool on eBay. Much cheaper! Hehe... I'm dangerous when bored!! Hope tomorrow you'd have something else to watch, apart from snow.

Sue, we might have to find boxed wine on wheels for the reunion!! Lolol!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hello hello Sistahs!!
Woke up this morning and surprise!!! I decided to follow through with an idea that popped up on FB yesterday, on Kimmie's page.
Yes LK, I found another usable old camera to capture these pictures.

Cut up hotdogs and pierced them with wheat linguine.
The sauce I used is Bertolli's Alfredo.
Delicious!! If I could have fun with this, you all can.
Just make sure you lay one side of the hotdogs on a flat surface. I stuck 5 linguines to one.

Next time, I'll get Kel to help me :D

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Cool idea!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm a big kid too, Marion!! Lol!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I can't wait to try that. I bet the GDs would love that for dinner. Might have to tell their mother......then maybe not. Will be a grandma thingee. LOL

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

i'm keeping the ark, as we are expecting another wave of serious rain this week. just got back from mobil. had raw oysters, crab legs, alligator po'boy, and red beans and rice. jaye, I thought of you the whole time. we went to the original oyster house. they have been featured on the travel channel and have won several awards. it's my favorite place. Michael is working an hour from mobile, so I drove down to meet him, cuz its not his weekend to come home. I am still full as a tick

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Kathy, how dare you post all that! It ain't nice to brag about raw oysters, crab legs and etc. without bringing us some!!!!!! I can't remember the last time I had raw oysters. I like them steamed better but sure won't turn my nose up at raw ones.

Well I guess you can keep the ark. I will just float around on the granddaughters rafts if it gets to bad. LOL Suppose to start again sometime tonight and all day tomorrow. We shall see.......................

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

It's 46F here right now..... heat wave lol
And hardly any snow, either!!
