Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!
Hope you all had a good week end.

forgot to say, Michael found a pearl in a oyster. morning lk, i'll take mine black
a pearl?!?! Would he be able to turn it in to a jewellers for some $$?
I presume it would be a fresh-water pearl?
Oh, I bet you were all excited when he found that pearl! How nice!
its a salt water pearl, and i'm going to have it set in a necklace
Have you started to mover to your new place yet Kathy?
That's fabulous, Kathy! I understand that saltwater pearls are a little more delicate than freshwater ones, and the longer it takes to grow the more outer layer there is, and the less easy it will be to chip it.
Guess that's why large ones are prized! (more outer layer).
Morning sistahs.
I'll take mine black LK! Thanks!
We shall make this day a good one, why? Because God is good and He gives me another chance to be good!!!
Lol!!!
Marion, make it a special day with the girls just for that fun meal! I can see them having fun trying to pierce the dogs! I wouldn't try them on sausages as they're more dense.
Sis Kathy, I'll take the alligator tail po'boy and no mustard please! I can get plenty of oysters here, it's an oyster town. But folks around here prefer them steamed a little.
Oh you have good luck in finding a natural oyster!
Fresh water pearls won't be as round as the salt water ones.
The price of fresh water pearls are sooo affordable now. Guess there are too many farms.
Am fortunate that ex gave me a set of Mikimoto pearls when we're in Tokyo, and my former work place gave me a 3 strand freshwater pearl bracelet for 15 years of service.
Mikimoto necklace have to be restrung, but don't trust the jewelers around here.
Anyone followed the Oscars last night? I enjoyed the singing for sure. Noted down movies that I'd love to watch and this year, there were 9 nominations for best picture. It's always been 4 - 6.
Enjoy your heat wave, Susan. It's in the 50s here!!
Got to bring Lola to the vet to get her toenails clipped. She would bite us if we were to do that. But she'd let strangers do it!! Yep she's mean. The vet would laugh at Kel... him being so big and tall and fear a little Chi. Lola drew blood when she bites!!
Beautiful quilts Susan! Love those colors.
no, linda we haven't started moving yet. I haven't even started packing. i'm pulling my hair out here. gotta take sara for tennis shoes today, as hers have seen better days. still getting things straightened out with the school, trying to make a phsychiatrist appointment for kaden, I worry so about him. he tells me he just can't control himself, his brain won't let him
Well, Laura loves teal, and Leland loves blue, so just had to find different shades/patterns of these colours - Laura had send me a whole bunch of quilt fabric (cleaning out her quilt stash) and I was pleased to be able to use material she'd picked out for herself!
oh those are so pretty ! i love the colors of the quilts
i found chicken on sale so i stocked up. its the only brand i can tolerate. Many brands of chicken are pumped with saline and ect...
also found out the rotissere chicken i used to get has BHT in it .. ack... :(
so i have some marinating and will be korean BBQ tomorrow. Yes i got a jar of korean BBQ LOL
also made some regular BBQ
Oh Kathy hope you can get things all lined up , sending you love my sistah .
Sure hope you can find the right Dr. for Kaden soon.
I need waders!!!! Anyone got a spare pair they will share for now?
This weather front sure was a rough one in the wee hours of the morning but luckily no damage. Major flooding in the area and south Georgia. About 11:30 this morning we had small hail with the rain...long time since I have seen coming sideways and the hail was actually hitting the windows.
Otherwise cooler but a nice day. Kim returned home from her trip exhausted but seems to have enjoyed be with her friends. I actually enjoyed being here by myself for a few days...very relaxing!!!
Sorry. No waders here. We need something to break this wind. We had 60+ MPH winds here all day. No damage here, but in San Antonio, they are showing room damage on the news.
No waders here, either........... quite some wind you had, Marion & LK!!
I say that, Marion, cuz obviously hail won't blow sideways without a major wind!
LK - glad there was no damage!
Sue, right now I think it is going to take my son's diving suit..still raining and they say we could get another 1" plus tonight. 100% chance for tomorrow. Oh well, sure am getting things done inside as I can't stop every now and then and wander around outside.
Yes, Susan the winds were so hard there were what appeared to be "white caps" on the lake. That just isn't possible as it is just a lake!!!
so happy you're home, safe & sound, and there's no damage. We get a lot of hail here, and wind/hail damage is a fact of life, so Really glad you're okay!
the ark and waders are on the way, maid m.
Morning everyone!
How about some hot cocoa today, with lots of marshmallows?
I am getting ready to go and have a planters wart examined. I have one on the bottom of my left foot, and it is so painful to walk on, I sure hope he can remove it today! I will be back after lunch.
yummmmmm on the hot chocolate - thank you, LK! oh, and YES on the little marshmallows, please!
Happy Tuesday sistahs!
Susan those quilts are lovely. Did you start from the middle, and sew outwards? The turquoise one looks like you did, with those blocks.. Your friends are so lucky to have you!
Since high speed, I've enjoyed viewing videos. When Kel's home, he'd take over the pc, just to upload Youtubes videos. He must have had watched hundreds!
Sue, I do have a bottle of Korean BBQ sauce.. hmm.. maybe I'd do some chicken with it tomorrow.
Ouch LK. Hope the doctor can remove that.
Back to rain here. I need to build a huge pontoon. Looks like the ark will never make it this way.
Please stay indoors, Marion. Don't try to walk in the rain, even in a diving suit!!!!!
The turquoise and the blue one were done the same way - cloth-pieced the 9" blocks, then joined them in rows and stitched the rows together.
The turquoise had the centers already cut (Laura had sent me a whole bunch of pre-cut pieces which she'd never gotten around to making into a top), so I just built out on the center (as I stitched to the muslin backing of each block). It was the first time I've ever done this technique and it's SO easy!
It don't look easy with the pieces not uniform!! I'd be going wonky trying to make them fit!
I think, atleast I hope, the worst is over. The sun is trying to peek through this morning but it is so wet outside.
Kathy thanks for sending the waders and ark but you had better check your weather first.
Kim said the roads going to school were passable this morning but has serious doubts about tomorrow. So many low areas and rivers really flooded. We shall see.
Need to make a quick trip to the grocery store but thinking I will go to Quincy rather than Tally...to many street closed there.
Stay dry, warm and happy.
This chicken is an experiment LOL its in the oven. I added onion and pineapple with the rest of the BBQ sauce. This s the Bibigo brand. with the great sale on ths chicken i m hoping they are not discontinueing carrying this brand of chicken.
Marion stay safe and dry. hope the rain lets up soon for you.
Marion - I haven't heard about you cancelling the Gathering....... surely you're not still having it, with all you have going on. There must be someone who can have it in your stead.....
I told maid m I would be more than happy to have the gathering.
took muffin man for his first vet visit. you would have thought he was being killed. then he pooped and threw up min the explorer on his way home
yuck........ what a mess to clean up! He obviously was Very upset....
Has he ever been in the car? Maybe that was it, or the carrier..... New things tend to upset our furries.....
http://easyhomestead.blogspot.com/2013/02/pvc-pipe-planter.html
Check this out!
I think he was upset from his first visit at the vet. he rode all the way from west Virginia to Alabama and was fine.
very kewl, Jaye!!
sorry to hear Muffin Man was so upset.... is he fine now?
lol too cute!
My Muffin did well on her first journey to the vet. Didn't even try to scratch the vet or the techs.
BUT, when she got home, she hid for a whole day!!
Sorry to hear about Muffin getting upset and sick! Hope he is doing better now!
Love that PVC planter Jaye!
I am back from the foot Dr. he told me I did not have a planters wart, but a seeded callous! he softened the skin, and shaved off the top layer, but that is about all he can do for it! it is just the way I walk, and it put's pressure on that area, and causes a callous! Also sold me a special shoe insert with a good arch support.
Seeded callous????
What? This is news to me. So, you might have to soak your feet to soften callouses?
I do need one of those arch supports, but can't find one to fit my very wide feet.
