Glad to see you checking in Betty. We do worry about you or anyone else when they go missing!
Katie, sure hope you are feeling better soon. How is the dog bite on your and healing? Hope you get some answers from the lawyer about your land soon!
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends..
Thanks LindaKay, just read up on posts..sorry to hear Dylan was unwell. You enjoyed your visit though?we did miss you
Betty, one thing I learned with Shane....and it brought some understanding.
I was "scolding" somewhat, and he said "yeah, I know, i am a bad person, I get it".
I said "NO....YOU are not a bad person, but the choices you have made are not good choices. You are old enough to know right from wrong, and if it is something you can't tell us about, or have to be sneaky, it just might be a bad choice and something you should rethink!
Katie, glad you are seeing a lawyer, good move.
Linda, any update on Dylan from doctors appointment? Hope he feels better.
Great way to approach it Debbie..
Not yet, his appointment is at noon, so it will be a few hours before I hear anything.
Dylan has an ear infection, they gave him a script for amoxicillin.
Prayers,prayers and more prayers please...
Was sitting here having a talk with Noah, went on-line to show him how drugs can impact lives. Ie if ever charges then perhaps never going to the USA with his children..that buying light drugs one never knows what can happen, seller could put more into it to to addict him to higher drugs...
Just getting into a conversation when Greg came in, told Noah to come home, Melanie said no way he is staying here...Greg says he'll be back for the night and he will move out because things can't go on like they have been..
Drats, came home with a headache..things aren't improving!
OMG. Praying for peace. big hugs. katie
Betty, I think Greg is trying to use scare tactics with Noah. I hope it doesn't backfire.
It sounds like more is going on than what they are telling you 100%. Sending BIG hugs.
oh my Betty....... I agree with Debbie - more going on than they're telling you. Plus, they're maybe too close to the problem and Noah NEEDS to get away as much as they need him to go for awhile - time out!
Katie - also glad you're seeing a lawyer... Is there another election coming up soon?
Flashback to April 2nd, 2011 – almost 2 years ago.
I fell on my left knee on ice/snow. Dr. had it x-rayed, said it was a sprain, and I was on crutches for a month.
My chiropractor said I had very little cartilage in that knee.
Flash forward– I’ve quit that Dr, and started with a new one as of Nov 2012.
Today my Dr felt the area and found a (Major!!) pain spot (almost hit the ceiling when he pressed it!)
He’s ordered an MRI on a semi-urgent and thinks I've torn something. I’ll get an app’t within a month, and he’ll see me a week afterwards when he should have the results.
Oh, and he thinks that I may be doing more damage to it by all the walking I'm doing (which I was doing because of the osteopenia/bone loss he diagnosed me with in December – can’t win for losing, eh??!).
So, for awhile I’ll be curbing my walking, and wait to see the results of the future MRI.
Betty, Did Greg say that HE is coming back and leaving Noah with Melanie? What a mess. And I'm kind of discombobulated with my own situation, let alone yours. I've been thinking about what I need to do and what might be involved- it's mostly bullies trying to see what they can get away with but the Mexican legal system is so different from American/Canadian/English that a lawyer is needed. The one we are going to see helped me once before. I am also allied with most of my neighbors, most of whom are Mexican and that may help.
I've really been under the weather for weeks. I could tell when I finally got to the laundry today and couldn't get it all done. It's been weeks, I guess. Half-sick/tired/depressed and feeling guilty because I wasn't "really" sick and so had no excuse for not getting things done. What a circle of crappy thinking.
Anyway, Betty, if Greg is as rigid as it sounds, with Noah being the age he is, this could be a very dangerous situation. What could defuse the situaion long enough for everyone to calm down and back off from each other? I can only offer my support to everyone and suggest that some professional help might be in order. Could the marriage be in trouble and Noah is acting out because of that? Just a thought.
hugs, katie
Ann just left, we didn't win anything..the norm
Udate: Toby isn't feeling the best however the piece they send for biosy came back, no cancer, praise be the Lord! He goes for last chemo treatment on Friday, then the wait is on for a month to determine if it helped or if further surgery is needed.
Ann brought over fabric for more placemats. We cut the strips for her, she also brought over a panel that needed leaves cut out, will be a child's night light. She now has much to keep her busy.
Storming out there, I'd sure like a snow day tomorrow..asking for too much aren't I?
No Greg, just emailed him, said I was leaving back door open should he need a room..e-mailed me back and said it wasn't needed...
not a whole lot more going on with Greg and Mel, they just can't seem to get on same page with regards to Noah and thus mega tension..am sure things will work out..you just worry don't you. Thanks for being here.
Hello All;
LK hoping Dylan gets better very soon... Katie good for you for being proactive on the situation...
(HUGS) Barb... good to see everyone posting again....
Betty - remember when I was having trouble with DS 1 1/2 year ago I sent him to Dad's for a week or so. He was a perfect angel at Dads and helped him out (or so Dad said) so much.
Dad and his DW still have a special place for Brock... I can tell....Anyway point being that DS sullen and cross with me but knew how to act with Grandpa and I'm sure Noah would be / is the same.
I agree with giving him things to do... 'earn his keep'... at least he could cook for you both or something.
I almost wish Greg had not shown up to retrieve him... as I think it would have done him good to stay with you for a while...
(HUGS) my sisters.... How is the snow situation?
Good luck with the MRI Susan.....good thing they found the problem though....
Brock's GF's father took them to dinner last night and had a long talk with him about school, future, etc. It made me so happy to know they care that much about him as well as see his "issues" and took it upon themselves. Brock has been acting SO happy lately with this new job. Went running with Belle yesterday and took GF to play tennis today.
Mom always said physical activity helps your brain so much.... depression, etc.
Witchy poo yelled at me today... called me into a meeting and would not say why. It has not bothered me and I'm so happy to say that.... I'm past the point.... YAY !
Hugs
Mary
Betty - I really think it would be good for Noah to stay with you for a bit....
SO glad that Toby's results are good!!
Morning, weather not the best out there..school bus cancellations again. Some dicy areas to drive through with the blowing wind and squalls but here I am, made it without mishap.
Mary, why don't you startle witchypoo and yell right back at her..know you can't, but, maybe you could say 'excuse me, did you mean to yell at me?' Glad you no longer take it to heart..wonder what's going on in her world to be so angry all the time..must be something!
Good morning, sounds like we have the same weather on this side of the pond Betty. Nasty out there!
Mary, I agree with Betty. I would politely say "Excuse me, but are you having a bad day, because I know you didn't mean to yell at me like that."
I wish you were home from work Mary, on Kelly & Michael, they are at Disney and I have thought of you all week watching this.
Going for coffee.
Dianne....come on out!!!
Debbie
Glad you made it to work OK Betty. Sure wish you did not have to drive in those conditions!
Good morning everyone,
Mary, maybe you could get a voice-activated tape recorder and let her (and maybe others) hear how she sounds.
Tony is here. I slept fairly well, all things considered and woke up early. We will go see the attorney today or tomorrow (depends on available transportation). I also got the worst case scenario (I think) on how much money the bandits want and it looks possible should we need to pay it. We also know these folks are greedy so we will get the attorney to stand up to them - neither Tony nor I are good at that and the attorney is.
Lots of work to do here. It's chilly but our weather is heading toward spring. One orange tree has a blossom and the new growth is starting on most of the citrus. I need to pick more lemons for Saul's store. Will also have to get out and talk to some of my neighbor's about their problems with the money grubbers.
Will keep you all posted.
hugs, katie
LindaKay, got an e-mail from Missouri Quilts saying package went out again..this time I had them put C/O so that your name is displayed, might help! I've been cutting the 5" squares for the quilt and will go back and listen to what the main color is cut at so that I can get the fabric cut as well, then when I get the templates/paper sheets I'll be ready to go..likely will bring the project here to work on at work..
Brought in black/blue floral pieces of print to cut out leaves to finish Susan's insert (done), brought #6 placemat to hand sew binding (done) and now I've your insert LindaKay, will sit and decide how the borders shall be done..I've Audrey's to do and my own..to do projects will be done by noon, then what?? lol
Katie, don't know how you are sounding so calm, I'd be a basket case for sure.
Debbie, not to fret with bad weather..isn't it only a month left to spring?
On the south side of my house, my daffodils were poking up. I had one partially opened bloom. NOW, they are under snow! Good thing they are hardy.
Spring...March 20th or so?
Honest we can't complain, the last several years have been so mild. This snow might help get the lake, stream and water levels back up for healthy crops and for feeding the cows out in the fields. Our orchards will be healthier and a good planting season we hope. SO...it has a flip side to it all when you look at the
big picture.
However, I have to go out today! lol SO would be nice if it settled down about 11:00 so I can clean off the car and leave about Noon! lol
Debbie
I really haven't felt it as a long or harsh winter..not looking forward to yard work come spring..let the leaves lay now they have to be raked..might look into a group of yard cleaners..
Drive safely Debbie
Good Morning!
Okay this is the third time I started this and hopefully won't wipe it out in a instant like I've done twice before. Fingers aren't working so good apparently. Tried to catch up on the thread and just want to let you know I'm saying prayers for all and hoping things will turn out well for everyone.
Sun shining here and very cold out, but at least not much wind today. We are to get snow starting tomorrow late afternoon to into Friday. Never so bad it can't be worse, but just like everyone else so............. looking forward to spring and being able to be outside more. Just kinda tired of being inside that nothing sounds like fun. I think I need to get a job.
Thinking of flying to Fl.soon, will meet my Sis there and visit the oldest GD. She only has school twice a week, so I don't think that will have any effect on us going. Would fly into Ft. Myers. I'm waiting to hear back from my Sis on when and how long so I can call the GD and make sure it's okay.
Well, nothing new here. Please take care everyone and God Bless.
Shirley
Ohhh Judy, Jake has changed so much in his appearance, would have been difficult to locate had I not known he came in 3rd. Where oh where did that young tyke go?
Waving Shirley, oooh when will you be in the Ft Myers area?? Wouldn't it be grand if it was same time I'll be there and we could meet??
Must be lonesome for you all, been browsing photo's on work computer, some of which we took upon meeting..such nice memories for a stormy blizzard of a day.
Should really email Paul and tell him we will go home at lunch..Suzanne had to go downtown for a bit, we will see what she has to say when she returns with a pizza
Thanks for the heads up on the package Betty, i will let you know as soon as it arrives.
Sounds like you have had another sewing day at work?
Judy, love the pictures! They all look so proud!
Hey Shirley, sure hope it warms up for you soon! I don't think these old bones could take the cold weather anymore.
