Big cheers for Jake!!! That is quite an accomplishment!! Have fun celebrating.....
Glad to hear you are boack home safe and son Betty....
Off for some dinner.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends..
s'funny you should say "glad you are not giving up", Betty - cuz so often I do - get tired, and just no "oomfph" to do much of anything productive..... whether it's making quilt squares to send on, going to the gym, cleaning house, or paying bills....... (btw - they DO get paid, just takes to the bitter end to do them.........). Guess I get the "blahs" more often than not. Today I managed to do a load of dishes, and now need to do some baking for tomorrow (for after church), and all I've done otherwise is to machine stitch a backing to 2 sides of a lap quilt....... feels so lazy of me....... but it takes a lot to motivate me, and it's difficult. Last Saturday, for the first time in 4 months I finally did a "whole house clean" by myself. Before that, it was Christmas Eve, prepping for guests for dinner the next day. I can't seem to clean without a specific reason...... except for last Saturday. I feel SO much better when I do, but that doesn't happen often......
Okay, there's my confession - I'm not a perfect housekeeper..... BUT, when I do, I do it well.
I think my dust...has dust.... yuppers...hate to do that job. every one in the house hold does. so it does not get done enough!!!
If you name them Thunder, they are pet dustbunnies....and accepted. O:)
my bunnies have babies and grandbabies, they're so big LOL
Haha deb....too funny
I'm cleaning the house for the first time in 9 years and it has been since October ....roflol !
In Crestview FL..model a engine has been retrieved. Visited with dad and wife and dear Niece and her hub. Great night
Love my fam
Waving to our Florida folks ....driving back tomorrow
Freeze tonight...hope ds has covered plants !
Morning all, sure wish I hadn't read about the dust bunnies before going to bed...
Been up since 3:15am cleaning..even made a fabric cover for my new sewing machine..having coffee then it's dust time .. I'm pretty good at keeping things clean but corners, closets sometimes have to be addressed. Lol. Do you all a favorite junk drawer..not sure how, I clean it every few months and before you know it you can hardly close it..same for utensil drawer..maybe tomorrow.
Maybe the answer to this cleaning thing is invite 'company'
Part of the being up is the slight nausea, guess I wasn't completely over this bug.
Watch if Roger's cousin's wide Helen decides not to come at 8am for me to show her the art of making the miss and match placemats..might be a good thing.
Bitter cold out there but not snowing so that is a good thing, means no shovelling!
Mary, now for getting the model engine back into the car..will Lance be able to do it or will you have to have it done..just think, won't be long before you are driving in antique car shows. Am sure you enjoyed visiting with family and it's just what you needed after all the stress you've been under of late.
Well, dust is waiting for a swipe
Betty - I agree - invite company = clean house lol
Awe Betty I sure hope that flu bug goes away... and you feel better soon!
Yes - Lance should be able to get it back in the car. We arrived home and DS at work ... all his friends were at the house... long story Belle apparently decided to chew through our old wood fence and getting out all morning....
What a coincidence went to check out the hotel this am and the gal checking me out was one of the ladies from the Florabama swap !
Where is everyone? Staying warm I hope...
HUGS
Mary
Where the heck is everyone! I have had a stomach bug, which DH was so kind to share!
Too quiet on here!!! Whats up?
Think everyone has the Too Much Winter blues....time for some sunshine.
well the sun was shining here, but it was way to cold for me to venture out!! it was 30 outside, and 60 inside when I got up..
day off so had to pay some bills...and of course had to do some sewing...
I think I have slept most of the last 24 hours. DH even stayed home to "regroup".
We had 20's today, but tonight it is up to 31!! More snow in the forecast, and wind! Imagine that.
I've been vegging, and sewing. Went to a friend's to give him a birthday card, then back home.
I've finished a lap quilt, and made a black/white/red block to send to LK (she's putting a top together for our group).
Hello ladies, I am back home! had a great visit with the Grand kids, but yesterday Dylan got really irritable, I thought he was just teething, but when Heather and Andy got home tonight, she took his temp and it was 101.2. She gave him some Tylenol, and put him to bed. he did not want to eat today or take a bottle, he was just so cranky. They have an appointment in the morning for him to see the pediatrician.
Betty, glad to hear you made it to USA and back with no bad snow storms!
YEAH JAKE! Congrats Judy, I know your all proud of him!
Debbie, hope your feeling better soon! You too Betty, you need to rest and let your body heal properly!
Betty hasn't posted in 48 hours. What is going on.
yes very strange, don't you have a phone #??? I don't, not sure who does????
I think Judy has her number?
Morning everyone! It is cool this morning, but supposed to warm up to 75 this afternoon!
We have a few swaps open, come and check them out.

I called Just got the answering machine. Looks like she has work number forwarded to home also, same message. I left a message.
I just sent her sister Sharon a note also! Hope to hear soon.
I sure hope she doesn't get mad at me, but I worry so much about her when she goes MIA.
Last time, she was dancing on table tops in LA!
Debbie
Let us know if you hear anything?
Most definitely will!
Even if she decided to go to Darlene, or Ann, she would have her tablet and send us a message. This is very uncharacteristic of her.
Good Morning!!
Ill be back in a little bit...
Just wanted to say I also called Betty, same got answering machine.
Also, notice Betty mad a post at 4:28 or so in the Trash to treasure this morning.
So maybe she is still in transit??
Debbie, I don't think Betty will be upset, She knows We all love her and worry when she doesn't post.
I left a message as well.
Judy, that was two days ago at 4:27a.m on the 17th......she didn't post at all yesterday.
Can't wait for update on Jake! So happy he got 3rd, what an amazing young man!

Awe Linda kay, sure hope Dylan is feeling better today. So glad you had a great visit.
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1279320/#new This is where Betty posted in Trash to treasure.
What the heck! Judy, I don't see that post at all. Last one is about Dust Bunnies and we kept her awake with thought of cleaning them.
Well, just popped over and saw that on Trash to Treasures. What the heck!!!

If there is bad weather, she may not have any power?
Not sure, but Betty also posted on the 18th, yesterday @859 on her whats happening in neck of woods.
You know Betty, maybe she ran off to the store early, or got busy...Or even better getting a serious Rest???
Very worrisome.
If she lost power, she wouldn't post on Trash to Treasures either though. Hmm.
Sharon did post on FB that they had bad weather.
Morning, am fine, still getting over this flu thing
did some sewing yesterday for swap seeing I was the backlog..done, oh happy days..
thanks for worrying but no cause.
Storm coming in this morning..
Just got a call from Greg, seems Noah, he and Melanie have just about had it with each other so Greg said I would have Noah living with me for awhile (that's today) goodness knows how long this will be for..when I asked what the guidelines for a teen is??? my house my rules..gee whiz
Whew, so glad your ok Betty!!
Oh maan, Are you staying home today?? I hope so, sure sounds like you need another day to snuggle under you cozy warm quilts...That flu is a humdinger from what i heard.
Maybe thats just what Noah and parents need, time away...Glad he will be staying with you though.
Sending you some healing Armwraps Betty.
Betty, thank heavens! 30 lashes with a wet noodle!!!
You know, I have taken in quite a few 'wayward" teens that just need that break from the parent. It might do him (and you) good.
Just don't be too soft on him. That was soo soo hard, especially since it wasn't my kids...and I knew there heart was hurting. BUT, gave them chores
and they stepped up. Now, if it only worked with my own son!!!
Glad you are not MIA!!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Just remember to enforce your rules Betty. I do think Noah has the respect for you for that not to be a problem. He is at that age when he thinks he can do anything and his parents are the point of not letting him try anything. It is a dilema in some families and Noah is very fortunate to have you there. I, myself, would have a serious conversation with Greg regarding his answer about guidelines!!! Maybe that is what the problem is right there. He sounds like "He(Greg) rules" and doesn't sound very flexible when one doesn't conform to his ways or thoughts. Difficult age in any case.... Please tell him that both Norm and I said Hello and that we really enjoyed meeting him...
Paul is in this morning so have been keeping busy with him, brought in my laptop to have a few programs installed..meant to post earlier but when I looked outside decided I'd best get a move on.
As for Noah, big responsibility and yet not..Greg said to give him some chores to do, nothing to do for him in my house, other than crafting there is nothing I can find to do for myself..lol
His other grandfather brought him a snowmobile Saturday, they all had a great family weekend, guess it was last night the feud was on .. teen boys and their dad's..
Can only do what I can do..let's hope the love of a grandma and grandson breaks the barriers..
Guess we have to have a co-habitation meeting tonight and see what the problems are and how I can help while stressing my concerns
Cross posted...
how right you are Barb..Greg is beyond being a perfectionist..no give..150% has to be put into everything, no falling a notch..he's sooo much like his dad, you would think from time to time he would remember what it was like being a teen..he turned out to be a man I'm so proud of as I am with Jeff as well but lordy, it's a hard road to travel for Noah.
It's all good times with grandma but yes, there will be rules, not so sure what I would do if the rules don't get followed though.
I think with Noah and his love for you that if you showed the least bit of disappointment in him over something that it would be enough for him to stop or change the behavior that caused it. He is such a wonderful young man and rigid rules etc just don't work with all of us. I know if I TELL Sean to do something, he will do it grudgingly. If I ASK him to do the same thing, there is never a problem. I think they are looking for the same respect for themselves that we demand of them as adults... I'll be keeping Noah in my prayers and you as well dear friend...
Thank you Barb..
Know we enjoy each other's company..will have a talk with him tonight
Hi Everyone, I woke up feeling better after what has seemed like an endless almost-flu, neither really sick nor really well. Tony arrived with the news that a local gov't organization is claiming that we don't own our land. They are a bunch of thieves that will be disbanded soon. In the meantime, they are trying to get as much money as they can from everyone, including Mexicans. We've been trapping mice in the kitchen and I think we need a big mouse-type trap for these people (I cannot use the words I want to to describe them or I'll get in trouble). Then add their bodies to the compost - good manure.
We will go to Santa Rosalia tomorrow and talk to an attorney there. We are both trying to stay calm. There are so many horror stories of people losing their land that I can't just dismiss it.
Will keep you posted.
hugs, katie
How dreadful, you must be beside yourself with worry Katie! thank the Lord you are seeing a lawyer, hopefully one who isn't corrupt and working with the organization you speak of..
