Oh, no.....the plow crushed my Morden Sunrise rose, but I'm hoping I can prune it & save it.
Coffee Break # 92
I expect you will be able to do that. I intend to check the shape of the tree and prune wht need to be done to make it look more balanced.
Good idea...it's a pretty one....
that is tough Joann - yours is a large one so losing one branch will not mean the end - hope the shape is still good.
good luck with the rose Marilyn
Neighbor's goats and barn burned down a few days ago. My DH and some friends are helping with the cleanup. Seems something happened to the heat bulbs (lamps) suspended above. Maybe that one of them burst and fell onto the dry straw. Very distressing since 30 lost goats made up a good deal of his income.
I do love that brug. I was given 4 cuttings this year. I bought cuttings in the past that rotted and did nothing. These 4 are going gangbusters!! Great to know that one doesn't need to overwinter the whole plant because good healthy cuttings taken from the right place will put on next year's show.
I'm sure the TLC that those broken plants will be given will do the trick.

So sorry to hear about your neighbor's loss, RRR. What a heartbreak!
Awe! How horrible, so sorry. :(
So sorry about the goats!
He had been bottle feeding about 10 new ones and was very attached to them
So the pope is stepping down - first to do so in 600 years! He was way too old to begin with. Hopefully they will learn their lesson and elect a young one like JP2.
You would think the world was ending. Not all of us are of that faith.
Not nearly the coverage that a dead celebrity like Michael Jackson gets.
Dont get me started.
Wish many of the fossils in Congress would take a lesson form the pope.
I love goats! They are so smart and such clean animals! My heart goes out to your neighbor.
I suggest a reality tv show - So You Wanna Be Pope!!
Does "The Borgias" count? What a bloody business that was.
The good old days...
Wondering what the old popes home is like...
It sure isnt in a cluster of little patio homes for independent living seniors. He will probably go back to Germany and be cared for.I think he is really frail for some reason. He looked like he was having difficulty holding up those heavy robes.
His health was not good when he was elected. His brother was shocked and said so at the time.
Teri so sad for your neighbor.
Victor I'm sure it's filled with glitter and gold!
Ohhhh yes Pier One decor. If he even notices at 80+
So sad about the goats
So true about congress taking a cue from the pope
Yep - term and age limits are a must.
So the last time a pope quit, DaVinci was not yet born!
deer tracks in my front yard - strange as the back yard is next to the woods - they like oakleaf hydrangea's and little honey was on there menu last night
Ohhh Bill thats awful. They ate my Lemon Wave.
My Siryuse is half gone from snow, one of the three main branches ripped off the tree.
Bummer, Bill.
Awful news, Terri.....losing any animal is terrible.....and Bill & Jo, bad news on the plants....I just heard we may get up to 6" of snow on Wed. night, & another coastal storm Sunday? That's it....I'm outa here! My Mom cannot go to rehab because she can't be without restraint for 24 hours....so....live-ins at home, & therapy from the VNA....The VNA did a good job at home with me, but I wasn't 98 with dementia....just an awful mess, I had such a headache when I came home from the hospital.....I had to speak with 5 different people, & all said something different....
Good luck with your mom Marilyn, hard at that age I'm sure.
My my brother called last night, my SILs dad passed away. Sad but a blessing, he had Alzheimer's and was getting real bad. He was a well known bartender in Wildwood, I'm sure the viewing line is going to be a long one. Hope they all hold up okay, my nieces are a mess, real close to him.
Thanks, Ronnie....yes, sad losing a Dad....Alzheimer's is devastating, watched my Gram with it decline rapidly....
joann hopefully the seiryu will bounce back quickly - i've had a couple lose a major branch as you describe and after a couple years look good again.
that is tough about your mom marilyn
the deer here just nibbled the buds at the end of the branches so not too bad - although i think they will be on the banquet circuit in the future..............
Awww, Teri, so sad about the goats! Your neighbors must be devastated!
I hope the plants that were whacked so hard by the storm will come back ok, Jo and Marilyn.
Wow - one of those crazy news days when so much going on. They have that lowlife trapped in a cabin in CA. Already shot another cop today. I would just burn the place down.
They should....Well, Mom is home with her aides.....hoping things settle down. Had a surprise visit from the hospital's CEO when I was visiting Mom today before she was discharged.....asked me if she could do anything for me.....guess she must of had a call from my son's FIL, who's chairman of the Board of Trustees...I was very upset when I spoke to my DIL last night because my Mom was restrained & out in the hall, but I really didn't want her to call her father.....I feel like a whiner, I really understood why they had to do it, it was just very upsetting to me.
Marilyn, I think anyone would have been just as upset. The situation you are in is as tough as they get, and I'm sure you are very exhausted. It's not a bad thing for the CEO to know how upsetting it is to family to see their loved one in restraints in a hallway for everyone to see. I do not think you were a whiner at all. Would the CEO have liked to experience what you did? It is crucial that there be some feedback to the people at the top because people in your Mom's condition cannot fight these battles for themselves. I understand that staffing is always a problem, but dignity should not be the price the residents and their families are made to pay. Sending you hugs and hoping things are easier during your next visit!
Marilyn - {{hugs}}
Caring for someone is far from whining Marilyn...hugs for both of you (((♥♥♥)))
