Rose, Dmail Louise...she'll know.....I'm picking my Mom up tomorrow morning ...her night aide wouldn't be able to get there.....
Coffee Break # 92
I took the last roll of paper towels out of the 12pk, so that's what I have to go to the store for...so even though they are not calling for much I can only imagine the mass panic...UGH, I'll go right after I drop the kids off at school in the morning hopefully won't be bad
DD is stuck in Europe. We are expecting 10 inches so no biggi but I will get as much firewood in as I can.
i've been re-reading several gardening books lately - Adian Blooms book of conifers in the garden might cost me some money! celeste if you do not have this - buy it now - with all your land there you could recreate his gardens!
Yes I have the land and lots of tree's already here in our woods or have ordered them but I still need your expert eye Bill! ^_^
Look on the bright side, Bill. The Blooms say they don't spend much time or money on their lawns.
Four weeks to daylight savings!
Thank you! I needed that today!
Think we all did!
Victor: thanks I think I can do that.
DD was in Europe on business all week.Due here Friday night, flight held in E.and next due in Newark and Rochester last night.Sunday morning finds her in Chicago. She doesnt know when she will sleep in her own bed again.
I am so glad I dont travel much anymore.
Oh, the poor kid! I would be in tears by now.....
She travels a lot and doesnt let moss grow under her feet when there are changes in flights. She gets overnight accommodations and new flight plans. It would dissolve me.
that is about the only way to deal with flight delays and changes.
DD is home via a lot of flights. She was supposed to fly to Newark Friday.NOT
They left Belgium on Sat and flew to Chicago instead. She was supposed to be in Rochester Sat night late NOT
They were supposed to fly to Syracuse today, then to Rochester tomorrow. Its an hour away.SIL drove to Syracuse and got her.
She reports her tickit was wrong when she went thru security in Chi.dated the day before but broke down and cried told them she had been traveling for 2 days, so they let her thru. She is mighty glad to be home.
Good for DD!
O M G she just handed me chocolate eggs from Belgium.
What does she do, Jo?
You just gotta love a daughter who goes through all of that when she knows her Mom is craving some Belgian chocolates! LOL.
Yum....nice present!
She is an assistant global regulatory manager for a pharmaceutical co. associated with Johnson and Johnson company based in Belgium so she goes there every few months.
She is still getting clear of Jetlag.
My good friend works for a pharmaceutical company and she travels a lot. She loves it.
Sounds like a great job, if she loves the travel.....
DD likes it too and changed jobs a year ago just as J&J was thinning out its employees, dodged the bullet I would say.
My friend says her company is going to let people go, in 2013. She says no one is secure in their job.
Only beaurocrats. No one who actually works.
After DD left they went thru the Quality control people and her friend was let go just 3 years from retirement. She is OK with it but didnt want to retire cause she liked her job.
That really stinks!
I am aware of the market at ages 55 or so.DD has a few friends who have been let go and cant find meaningful work.Their age is against them.
One GF is a mortician and says there are a lot of suicides in that age group.
Very sad.
Sorry to be such a downer tonight. It must be near my bedtime.
Jo, a 2-hour Downton will cheer you up. LOL
They are working on season 4 now.
Funny, when I started watching Downton Abbey I didn't know it would be for two hours. I was so engrossed that I thought only an hour had past until I looked at the clock.
I watched a program on the castle that Downton Abbey is filmed in yesterday.
I am not usually caught up in the background details of a program but DA just fascinates me.
Ages ago I read "The Devil Drives" the life of Sir Richard Burton. Its about the race to discover the source of the Nile. The age of exploration in England was huge.Greystoke legand and etc.Among the explorers was Earl Carnarvon who lived in Highclere castle. He was an Egyptologist and discovered King Tuts tomb, alas he died befor he could return to England.
Sorry it this is so long but Fellows is related to Carnovan way back. Some of the story line in DA is from his family past.
CBS Sunday morning did 2 features of DA and Fellows that mentioned the connection. He is quite a romantic writer. He wrote Titanic.
Interesting connections! I may have to tune in....but tonight it will be Westminster on the TV.....
My GF lives for that dog show.
I do, too.....it was so exciting the year that we went....jammed & packed, folks stamping, whistling, clapping for Best in Show....more raucous than a Knicks game! A velvety Newf won that year....
I am bummed.Just looked at the Siryuse and a branch that I thought was just bent under snow ,is actually ripped off the e main part of the tree completely
