Superbowl Sunday!! One of the American traditions that I adopt happily!! Glad to be in the USA when the BCS championship and the Superbowl are on!
Nothing special for me today, just grilled ribeye, with smothered okra and some mash. Strange combo, but it works!

Went to my mom's got more stuff...............all of my yard ornaments from swaps...frogs, turtles, butteflies feels like Christmas, lol. going to be going thru it all today...Doug going to the bar to watch game with his friends...will have house to myself ^_^..............

Not a football fan, but DH is and I usually become a widow when season starts. He will be glued to TV set today for sure. It is a beautiful warm sunny day here so guess that means I can play in the yard. So much to do and don't know where to begin.

I haven't been on facebook for a while so missed Stacy's announcement on the birth of her baby. Yep, I think her family is complete. She has such a scary time with her pregnancies.

A good pot of Colombian roast coffee is ready. Croissants and cream cheese.. no calories.

Yep, I was happily spending Kel's allowance, Barb and LK.
Stocked up on some good eating @ the health food store and more vitamins.
As for fabrics, didn't get none. Instead I chose books, not quilting. Just more cookbooks. Yep, another vice, love collecting cookbooks.

But the evening didn't end well.
I sent my cell phone flying into orbit.. destroyed my house phone caused my cats to find all possible hiding places.
You can say I needed a valve.
The replacements will cost him his next month's allowance, but it's worth it :D

Now why did you destroy the phones Jaye? Poor kitties, making them play hide and seek!

Last report last night was the nurse had finally gotten mom to drink some water and eat a small serving of ice cream. Sue is on her way to see her this morning so hoping for an update on her condition very soon.

thanks everyone. for my birthday i got 2 children and a new puppy. his name is muffin. my sister sent a plant.

Alpplying to another fund for drug Xtandi, cost $8,000. A case worker went on line for this new fund filled out information. I just have to get copies of our income and his medicare card and medical card. Please send prayers we are accepted and co-pay is very low. Have to fill out forms and make another appointment for the case worker. Have to get his medical records and case worker will take carfe of that. This running around is more confusing than ever. Each year the government takes money out of SS fund and leaves us having to pay more or not to be able to afford anything. Mandy, puppy, is having surgery today, poor baby. She was so active I wonder how she will be now.

i got another shi tzu. we have temporary custody of sara until our final hearing in march. the judge thanked us for stepping up and taking her so she didn't go in the system.

Pegi, at least Ca. is one state that's accepting Federal Govt's medicaid $$ to help with those that need. Our NC state just rejected it.
So, the state residents who depend heavily on Medicaid will find less fundings. That will of course affect cancer patients, including FIL.
Will definitely ask the Lord to help you and Darwin in the approval process.

Kel is one that's reluctant to get rid of anything that hardly serves it's purpose or having to replace anything that had to be duct taped, glued to keep it secure.
Well, that phone sure needed to be retired. Thick wads of scotch tape cushions the base, and most auto buttons hardly work.
We had it for 11 years, and I kept telling him it's time to get a new one.
That's one way to convince him!! Lolol!!

As to the cell phone, it's a piece of crap!! The back keeps coming off, exposing the battery to the elements. Tired of looking at duct tapes, and worse, reception is so poor around here with Verizon.
Been hating it, and no.. Mr. Kel said I don't need a better one as I hardly use it.
Wellllll.... gladly chuck it to the woods.... do you blame me?

He's behaving now, too afraid that I might throw something at his precious wide screen best buddy.

My ex had told him (Yes Kel and him are buddies)that only once during our marriage that I intentionally got physical.
That ominous day went down in history as the day Jaye destroyed thousands of dollars in a split second.
He had called me a gold digger in a heated argument, and crash went the Waterford goblets and decanters, antique Imari plates, Belleeck pottery and all original paintings on the wall that I had commissioned a Mississippi artist.

They weren't insured, and I had pure satisfaction in watching ex' face dropped.

With Kel, I don't think this will be the last. He tends to zip his mouth at work and with his parents.
But with me, he gets very vocal and I had begged him, if he chose to react that way, to leave the house, as it bring back bad memories of my childhood.
He said home is the only place he can release his anger and express in such a manner.
Thing is sistahs.. it wasn't about me. That evening he got pissed because the remote wasn't working. The cussings got louder and he started getting physical and I begged him to stop it, as my head was pounding.
He made a big mistake.. oh a big one. He turned around and shouted that his anger wasn't directed at me. It's his way of 'expressing' himself and release all the frustrations from work and his mother. This from a man that had made a promise to help alleviate my blood pressure.

Well.. sistahs.. I sure did express myself that night!!

As I had said, I'm sure this won't be the last, as long as his parents are still alive.

Why do I stay in this imperfect marriage? Yep.. I love that man.
As long as he doesn't lay a hand on me..

Jaye, your not alone, Todd says why replace it, if duck tape works! REALLY?
But if you go to your cell phone place, they replace/upgrade your phone for free every 2 years. At least ours does with sprint! I think there is an activation charge of $15.00 for the new phone, but not bad.
It is amazing how much they pay attention when we lose our cool like that! I don't do it often, but when I do, he knows he needs to pay attention!
Remember the hole in the kitchen where the roof leaked last summer from all the rain we had? Well it is still there. He went out, and bought all the wood to replace and fix the roof. It is still outside, and we still have the hole in the roof. I told him the other day, I would really like it fixed, so I can paint the kitchen, he looked at me and said he has to fix the roof, before he fixes the ceiling inside, and it is not raining, why fix it! I just walked out side!

Well then LK, Kel is the same way about roofs!!!
I'm tired of seeing the leaks in the greenhouse/sunroom. When it's raining, he agreed he had to fix it. But when it's sunny, he doesn't see the need!!
Shall we form a club with our DH as co-presidents?? Let's call it the DUCT TAPE CLUB!!!

He's now finding excuses why my truck isn't repaired yet. I'll just have to make that call for it to be towed to NOT a shade tree mechanic, but a non-relative one!!

Guess LK, if we have the ability of a man to fix that roof we will eh?
Why do we need them, I wonder sometimes!

My DH and I have an agreement. When one of us procrastinating about doing something, the other one has permission to "call and schedule it". We agree in advance on the date.

just spent the morning registering sara for school, and shopping for clothes. she cost me 350 dollare, and she is only 10. imagine when she gets to be a teenager

Had a nice work out just now, pruning the fringe tree, cut down untidy rose bushes and I hope to clear the sidewalk in a while.
