I love this quote by the legendary Confucius! He was born 551 BC. He'd make a perfect disciple of Christ.
Morning sistahs. Coffe is ready. Real, real strong that your spoon can stand in it.
Just more yard chores to do later and one pleasurable chore. Selecting fabrics for a quilt.
Have a wonderful day.
#Sweet Interruptions# 253
i'm here, and maid m. i agree. we can have the gathering here, or get that cabin in the mountains. well, y'all think about iit. be back later, off to the heart dr. i go
Morning everyone! Thanks for the new room, and strong coffee!
Kathy, sure hope you have good reports from the heart Dr?
Kathy, good report from the cardiologist, I hope?
It's calling for a light dusting of that dreaded *S* word.
Temps took a nosedive all of a sudden. With winds blowing, it felt like the 30s.
My chore list isn't completed..
Made sure the light's on in the pumphouse. Kel ushered Hambone into his workshop for tonight. Hambone has his own dog house, but with *S* expected.. I'm sure he'd appreciate the warmth.
I'm grateful that we have heat.
dr. says don't get upset. what a laugh, i guess he don't know my disfunctional family!
Sure wish I could send you some of the heat we have here Jaye! 77 right now. Stay warm!
Laugh off your dysfunctional family Sis!!
Or maybe you need to put them in the goats pens whenever they drive you up the wall!
It's now in the 20s LK. I feel for Sue and Susan. Got the heater on, and water running.
If ever you're in Houston, look up this wonderful human being.
When I have that chance, I'll be certain to patronize that restaurant.

I heard that a few days ago! It takes a special person to do things like, that! bless him!
That's my kind of guy, LK.
I just can't believe there are still ignorant people going around.
Asking for prayers for Dad please? My Sis called, and said he is really depressed, as they are trying to wean him off the pain pills, he does not want to eat, not even ice cream, he can't walk or go to the bathroom on his own. Even though she keeps telling him he has to get better to come home, it sounds like he is just trying to give up? The Dr, removed the staples from the surgery area's, and he said it all looks really good. Yes it is swollen a bit, but that is normal he said! No blood clots that he can find! Kathy said he acts like he does not care about anything, and is trying to give up!
Bless his heart. Of course I will say an extra prayer for your dad, LK.
Hopefully it's post surgery depression. Some people react that way. If the ice cream doesn't revive his appetite.. maybe your sister can sneak in a hamburger? See how that goes.
Rest your weary mind, LK. Leave all to the Lord.
I will tell Kathy to bring him a beef and cheddar from Arby's. He always liked those? Thanks Jaye!
Lk definitely saying prayers for your dad.....depression can really have a devastating effect at their age. Also makes them so impatient!!! My sister called today in the middle of the doctor visit....she called Kim who was in the room with me. Of course, this made it necessary to have to explain what was happening after the doctor saw me go pale when I realized it was my sister calling.....was afraid something had happened. Nope mom just could not wait to find out what was going on.
X-rays and 21/2 hours this is where things stand: torn ligaments, tear in ACL, a cyst and swelling/soreness. Some of the damage appears to be from a previous injure that I can't remember or wasn't aware when it actually happened. I was given a cortisone shot, the cyst drained, exercise regiment and a cream that is to be applied 3 times daily (from the cost I think it was be Kryptonite...wait! I am not Superman!), limited driving and certainly no driving down to see mom by myself for 6 weeks. Boy that was a blow!!! There is a possibility that in the future I might be a candidate for a knee replacement but not positive. I am to restrict myself going up and down the stairs and when bearable start walking. He doesn't want to rush into surgery even for cleaning out debris until he tries these things first. I can go along with that.
Ladies, I read all your comments about this years get together and I truly hate to "back out" but will give it some thought for a few days.
Yes, I seriously need to heed what the doc told me as I am no where near ready to be put on the sidelines!!!! Mom is definitely getting worse, meaner and according to my sister much more demanding. So thank each of you for your concerns and let me give it some thought. It really bothers me to cancel this year but will discuss this with Kim as she is involved also...she is my "stair climber now".
Prayers being said for your Dad LK and for your Mom Marion.
We saw the story about the waiter way up here in NH and I sure would like to thank him too. I get goose bumps when I see or hear of someone standing up for those who cannot do so for themselves. I would like to think I would do the same if it were me there at the time......
Marion, sure hope all those things work for you! Now listen to the Dr., Kim, and all of us when we you tell you to take it easy and don't over do it! Especially going up and down those stairs. I would maybe think about putting your bed downstairs for a bit till it can heal?
Barb, your up early!
Morning Sue! Hey it is a salsa party at Sue's place! I'll bring the chips! Who is bringing the beverages???
Barb, I'm sure you'd do the same as Michael. Women like you, will somehow find that courage deep down inside to do the right thing.
Fortunately Barb, there are a lot of similar minded people when it comes to human decency.
Is that Kryptonite cream an analgesic Marion? Hope it helps your knee.
With this thorough examination, at least now you know what you're up against.
Do heed the doctor, and I totally agree with LK. Bring that bed downstairs, or use the couch for a while. Bar all visitors if you're conscious of your new sleeping area.
We are very grateful to Kim for being your stair climber. Happy too that she lives with you.
How am I going to have a happy time at your place, Marion, when I'd be assuaged with the guilty thoughts that you're doing this regardless of your physical and emotional health?
(Sorry Kim dahlin', I know you're looking forward to meeting this awesome AsianCajunRedneck wonder, but there will be a better time).
So there now, consider this when you're making your decision.
Again, we love you very much, and don't want to place additional stress on you.
Regular Arby's with cheese is Kel's favorite, LK. I like their market sandwiches.
Ole'!! Sue's having South of the Border party!!
Margaritas here and Jose Jalapeno for entertainment!

Oh the words I didn't know were in my vocabulary!!! I was told that when the deadening shot wore off it would hurt......cortisone stirs things up big time!!! Sore but made myself do the lifting exercises. I had actually forgotten how the knee would feel after it "woke" up...been since 2004 that I had a shot like this. Thank you ice pack.
Salsa party? I will bring the black bean chips and ingredients for margaritas....ah, what do they need? LOL Leaving as soon as Kim gets home as she would never, ever miss a salsa party!!!!!!! Jose Jalapeno for entertainment Jaye? Shucks why not Antonio Bandares? Got get some "eye candy" for this old lady.
Sistahs, I am taking care of myself!!!!! Just so happy I wasn't rushed into surgery. It distrubs me more than you know about this years gathering........getting ready for large groups doesn't bother me in the least. However, if progress isn't made in 6 weeks, I don't know what will be done to the knee at that time. Still thinking.
LK, how is dad doing today? I worry when they get depressed.
Marion.. this vid. will be sure to steam up the party!!

Good Morning Ladies,
We finished moving all the important things into new house. Got our tv and internet up and running. I had to leave Wed. and go to Sheri's for a dinner get togrther for one of the gals (Jenny) it was her 50th bday. We went to Olive Garden, my first time ever. 3 of them had unlimited salad and soup (Sheri & Jenny had this cuz they want to lose weight), I had a Grilled Chicken Ceasar salad, other gal had some kind of pasta. Stayed the night with Sheri and slept in I was exhausted.
Wed. morning I went down to old house to get the odds and ends of stuff in the kitchen, when I got there Doug's mom was int he house going thru the rooms. She was in the room that was my craft room, came walking out, gave me a dirty look and turned around walked back in. While I was in the kitchen packing stuff she came in and said "I thought I told you not to open the trunk that I was going to look for the key for it" Man that ticked me off!!! I told her "I did NOT open the trunk, Crissy did (Doug's step-sister) turned around and walked out. I was so mad I left went back up to new house told Doug what she said to me and he said "Ya all got to quit fighting" I told him it's not me it's YOUR MOTHER!!!!!! I'm sick and tired of being accused of things I DID NOT do, ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! So he went down there had a talk with her, pretty soon she came and apologized.
Most of you know the story of the old house...............Well Doug's mom is going to move into it (how stupid is that?) knowing that they want a HUGE amount of money, she thinks that if she calls Sacramento to talk to who, I don't know that they will let her keep the house. Well I am staying out of that, as a matter of fact I don't want to hear anything about.
Today and tomorrow I'm going to be bring all my plants up here, oh boy what a chore that is going to be, lol ^_^
OH Jaye, I really liked that dance scene! Nice eye candy for sure!
Cindy, sure hope you get all your stuffed moved to the new place, and leave all the old house and old owner behind! Sure hope she can get it figured out! That is a lot of money!
Can't believe you have never been to olive garden! They have some really nice meals there.
salsa is done. and its to hot for me /??
i made the first batch with 8 jalepeno's and also the second batch .
third batch i did was 3 jalepeno's and wow no differnece ? uhg. i don't do heat. i eat a lot of this salsa so i don't want it to hot . so i have 18 jars of hot hot salsa . i guess tim will have to bring it to work and hand some out to the guys. ?
i m out of tomato's too so i only have 10 pints of it left for me :( oh well.
still got berries and peaches in freezer to jam up .
also got garlic to dry and make a powder from
How do you dry garlic Sue! Do you have a dehydrator?
maid m, your health and knee are more important than the gathering. my offer still stands
Cindy, you're gonna lose some weight with all that physical moving!
Best thing you could ever done is to walk away from a white elephant.. the house, that is.
Guess Doug's mum can't really see where she'd be heading if she chose to fight city hall!
Sue, I had added some cubed seeded cucumber to my salsa. It turned out good. Can't do too much jalapenos, as Kel won't touch them.
Have you tried making beef jerky with your dehydrator?
You're so sweet Sis Kathy to suggest reunion at your house. It would be your second time as hostess!
Mountains sound good too!
Whee Jaye, did you see the movie? FANTASTIC!!!!! ....and yes, I was drooling and fanning .......................
My sister knew I was going to see it and wanted me to tell her if it was good or not. When we came out I called her and when she answered I just breathed heavily into the phone. Her comment: That good huh!!
Had a lovely day with my son...first one in about 9 months. He treated me to lunch then we visited Lowe's for hinges to attach the legs back to my sewing table. He made me new one for Christmas as he knew I loved my table (his dad gave it to me about 20+ years ago) but the legs had worn out from being used so much. Back in business now!!
Kathy that is so sweet to offer and Kim and I are talking. Haven't decided yet.
Good Morning Ladies,
Coffee is on...blueberry bagels or plain with Indulgence milk chocolate yum yum
Boy Jaye I hope so...that is my game plan with house it's so much bigger I have more to clean, plus I have room to work out, going to use the new yoga mat I got for Christmas.
Visiting for my brother has been cancelled, so I am going to spend today getting all of my gardening stuff up here. We had our first two visitors yesterday Sheri and Weeg (he is a guy we go riding with). Spent the rest of the day doing odds and ends of things
Marion, I added the movie on Netflix! Yep, I was breathing hard too! Lolol. He's such a sexy man... and sorry that my Tom Selleck can't dance.
If only we could do that with our limbs. Just take a part out and replace with working ones!!
Thanks for coffee Cindy. I need that to start getting away from the pc!
My forehead is frozen I think. Too cold to move my limbs!
Like you, got things to do though, but not in the garden.
Will be back much later, and I pray you all have tolerable weather.
Oh Jaye, you will love the movie!!!!
Thanks for the breakfast Cindy! Sounds like your getting the move done pretty quickly! Hope your not over doing it? Enjoy your day in the garden!
OH my aching back, lol. Got all plants moved except for 4 BIG ones in pots. But I still have gardening stuff in back yard, ugh. Another time for that. Even though the Brugs froze a little, they are already putting out new shoots. So I am not going to cut it back just let it go and see what happens.
Break time, ttyl!!!!
Cindy, you need a hand truck to move this big ones, makes it a lot easier.
Update on Dad. I called there a little bit ago, and he is in much better spirits. The Dr. Sat down with him, and told him like it is! Straight forward. Told him if he does not try to get up and move, and eat properly, that he will not be going home for any type of recovery, and that he will die! I guess it hurt his feelings at first, but when I talked to him, he perked up, and he really had a cheerful attitude.
That's good news LK!! He needs a doctor like that won't coddle him but tell it like it is.
Your dad should look forward to an Arby's treat!
