(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear that Diesel and quill got too have a play date! Sounds like it was fun for all! Hope you have an easy day at the dentist tomorrow Dianne!
Betty, did they guy that was released from prison, serve his time, or just get out till pending trial? Pretty sad if they have not had a trial, and they let him go? Even if he served time, I don't think it was enough for what he did!

Lyndonville, NY

Linda Kay did they find something out on your Dad today? I hope I didn't read over....but fighting a headache.

Nasty snow and i think pressure from the barometer is doing it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

My Sister has a meeting tomorrow for test results, and evaluation on how Dad is doing. Take a couple of aspirin, and get some rest!

Morning all,

here is hoping that it's good news for you re your dad LindaKay.

Bitter cold out there, guess who put off shovelling a path to the back entrance..drats..girls are coming to play today with sewing..guess I had better get a move on and go shovel..on the bonus side, car started

Debbie, these little ladies are much too pretty to be me..lol

Betty, don't throw them out, someone can use them!

Morning everyone! Sure hope you don't have a lot of snow to shovel?

Lyndonville, NY

Good morning ladies,

Oh Betty, I agree with Linda, someone could give them a wonderful home. OR...you could make a doll and have them ready to donate for
a raffle....like Kyles fund raiser for cancer. Do one all in pink for breast cancer.....one in gold for childhood cancer. AND one in purple for Survivors!!!

So so cold and nasty here. Temp says it is "8" with a windchill/real feel of "-10". Even poor Izzy came right back in.

Stay warm!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

brrr was -28, Toronto is now getting the storm, hope it's not headed in my direction.
Managed to shovel a pathway for the girls, grabbed my bags and didn't realize I left my glasses at home.Drats, waiting for $$$ store to open so I can pick a pair to get me through the day. Talking to Paul, Bryan and Jim are going to be late, traffic barely moving..

Suzanne is running late, having trouble with loss of tire pressure, she just called, on her way in..was a nail in the tire.

Nope, don't want those dolls, have to find a home for them..anybody here want them?

As for the man who murdered his wife, he got bail and house arrest..didn't take him long to finish the job he threatened he'd do..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sometimes the court system really sucks! We have the same thing happen here, and I think the judges that let them out should be responsible for what happens!
I don't know the first thing about doll making.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thought LindaKay you would be the first one to say send it my way! lol

There really should be consequences for sure, some of these threats are taken lightly whicy is the reason I'm so concerned with regards to Robert.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I started too, but I don't know how to put them together? Send with instructions please??? LOL!

Glenview, IL

good Morning!!

OMG, it's 1* lol and we warmed up!!

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Betty I would love to have a few of them, will share if ok with Linda K.....I will look around On line and see if I can find something. I am thinking I can make something for Malena and Ryleigh....

Yes we have a Angel baby girl, name.....Ryleigh Alana pronounced ri lee a lay na Alan was Megs dad name, he died when she was 8.

cute story to go with it... Levi and Meg were trying to decide on names. they were saying out loud to one another, back and forth, a bunch of different names. After they had said Ryleigh, Malena said yes that.....every time they said a different name Malena said No Ryleigh.....many times over.....so finally Levi asked her what do you think we should call your little sister? this or this, this or this, she continued to say Ryleigh !!!!! so they looked at each other, looked at Malena, and said at the same time!!! looks like Ryleigh it is !!!!

Also very funny....when they went for the ultrasound, Malena looked at the screen and exclaimed.... You all silly !! that's no baby in there, that's a monster !!!! of course they all laughed like crazy, and then Meg tried to explain, because she was still so small, yes she does indeed look kinda funny, but by the time she comes out, she will indeed look like a baby !!!!!
I thought it was so very cute ♥♥♥ I can not help but wonder if Malena has already chosen a nick name for her little sister???

hope that gives Y'all a giggle for the day ^_^

Victoria Harbour, ON

lol, too adorable Thunder! I can see being call Malena calling her a little monster from time to time..love the name Ryleigh. Sorry if I missed it, when is the due date? Now you'll have two little cuties to spoil..lucky you!

Judy, you are a whirlwind, always on the move. With it being this cold, good night to have a fire..if I could find my pit I'd have one and think of the one we had at the Sistah's reunion

SURPRISE! Belated HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
Sorry I haven't been on for a long time but seem to keep busy with things. Think of you all so often and hope that all is doing well. Hope that everyone and a wonderful Christmas and Santa was good to all. It was a really nice Christmas here and Santa was good to all and the family that came up to be with us all got home okay and had a wonderful trip.
I keep busy trying to straighten up the basement where my stuff is stored. You know take some stuff out and repack and mark the totes. I put up 9 different shelving units to try to straighten things up. As usual I don't have to look for anything to do. LOL
Bitterly cold here, the patio door was froze shut this morning so trying to get one of my oldest dogs to go out a different door to go potty and back in was quite the challenge. She doesn't do change well. My dear daughter ended up carrying her back to house after she finally went potty. We used some deicer and blow dryer on the door to get open so hopefully it will stay that way. I will go down and work some more later today and put some more things away.
I am looking forward to spring to plant garden and work outside. I have alot of ideas to redo some of the plantings around here and I think I will get this young man that is friend of GD's that does landscaping to come and help me with some walk ways.
Well, just wanted to drop in and say hi to all and wish you all the best for the new year!
I promise to drop in every couple days and see what's going on with all.
Please take care and have a great day!
Shirley

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, please let Thunder have those doll faces ad hands, as I stated, I have no clue what to do with them!

Love that name Thunder!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Shirley, so glad to see you pop in! Glad to hear your getting settled in! Sure hope it warms up for you.

Judy, 1 degree, and that has warmed up? Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

How wonderful to see your post Shirley. We all continue to keep you in our prayers and I am so happy to hear you are getting settled. Sounds like you had great holidays with your family. That's great. Hope to see you more often - we miss you!!!!
Meant to add that I love the name Ryleigh. And the spelling. My daughter's name name is Stacy Leigh so I guess I'm a bit partial to that spelling!!!

Since there seems to be a lot of discussion out and about the threads about MRSA (Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and many are contemplating surgeries/procedures, I want to pass this info along to you all. Bactroban nasal spray....it is used to kill mrsa bacteria in the nose to help prevent the spread to surgery incisions.

Talk to your doctor and consider if it is a good thing for you, but know that the treatment starts 5 days prior to surgery.

Don't be surprised if the power/Hydro went out over at Bettys. We are getting pummeled so bad that Buffalo sent their news crew out
here (over an hour drive in good weather) to film whats going on here, the lake and just to the south of us. NOT as cold as Dianne & Betty, but
the snow is causing major issues.

Waving to all.....stay warm

Heading to bed

Morning,

Drove home in white outs last night, just took my time, grabbed a coffee and went into my Christmas fabric cutting up into workable sizes...told myself just another piece and ended up doing entire box. Guess it was 7:30 before I came upstairs! No sooner had I ate I sat on the couch and drifted off.

Ann had called to say that she wouldn't be over for bingo, back was giving her the what for, guess from shovelling. Her nephew is doing poorly, cancer is spreading so she thought she might take a trip today if not snowing and blowing to see him in Parry Sound, guess that was part of the reason she wasn't up to coming over. She and the girls didn't come over yesterday either as Pat was still under the weather, hmmm I shoveled for nothing. Lol

Cold out there, Riley who usually wants out for a few seconds in the morning when cold decided against it and is now snuggling with me..little does she know I have to shoo her away to get up.

Gab when I get to work!

Good morning everyone,

Shirley, glad to see you posting. Wish crissy would come back, too.

Diane, I, too, love to watch how the animals will play together at a level that works for all of them. The respect the big and strong dogs will have for the older ones and the puppies is very heart-warming.

It's still chilly here but a bit warmer than it has been.. I've been having a low-energy week. Not really sick but not really well either so I'm puttering, getting craft stuff a bit more in order.

I think I had the MRSA spray the day before the surgery.

Dana's husband forgot to water her tomato plants while she was in Oregon helping her mother move and they all died. Luckily, I have a lot of them. I also have a bunch of planters finished (yea1!!) so I can give her one of them and some broccoli plants. Then when they go back to Oregon for the summer we can baby-sit the plants here.

It doesn't look like the Papaya trees that Tony moved are going to make it. They have a long tap root which may be the problem. I'm adding beet and lettuce seeds to the tires and hoping for something to grow.

Tony made a "fence" out of the body of an old dryer and it's behind a bushy natal plumb, blocking the view of the plants-in-pots that are awaiting permanent homes. Makes the new garden in front look much better and keeps the vulnerable plants away from the dogs who are not allowed in the new garden. Life with dogs involves a lot of fences, I find. However, it gives them a lot of room to run around safely. But about the only plants that survive in the ground where the dogs are allowed are the aloes and the vetiver grass, Neither of them is suitable for a lawn so we still have a lot of "dirt" lawn.

A few of the aloes are starting to bloom already. We have lemons, grapefruit and tangerines to eat and share with friends who have stores. My lemon cuke plants is still alive and might start producing again now that it's a little warmer. I've not started many seeds but am making progress on the organization of supplies in the new garden so I won't be spending a lot of time searching for pots, potting soil, etc when I have a little more energy and focus. I have one brugmansia that has about ten flowers and buds on it.

Back to the boxes, etc. I'm at the point of organization where I'm sure it is hopeless so I want to keep pushing.

hugs, katie

Morning!
Yes Debbie I seen on the Today show the snow that is causing problems out your way. It is snowing here, wasn't suppose to start till this evening, but I think someone always forgets to tell Mother Nature when things are to take place. LOL Just be very careful if you have to go out for any reason.
Betty it's always a chore getting all the scraps cut and ready for a quilt but when it all comes together it makes one feel so good inside. I hope to eventually get the material that my Mom started the Cathedral quilt for me with so I can work on it slowly. I hope all the family drama that is going on right now will end with a good ending. It weighs on ones mind even if we think it doesn't. I am thankful when I don't have to go out in the nasty weather but always say prayers for those that do.
Yes, I hope all is well for Crissy and look forward to hearing from her also.
Tubby's nephew from Mesa, AZ calls every week to check on me and rub it in on how nice it is there. He's Tubby's twin I swear.
Well, I better go and finish getting the paperwork ready so I can go to the DMV and relicense the vehicles for up here.
You all take care and have a wonderful day. God Bless and keep you all safe, healthy and happy!
Shirley

Victoria Harbour, ON

morning all, was sure I posted when I got into the office but must not have pressed 'send' and moved on to something else..sorry!

omg -39 here this morning, although I didn't freeze on my way in I wasn't as warm as I usually am while driving to work. Several accidents on the way in..roads were clear but saw several accidents..guess traffic exhaust created ice pathway where tires drive, people just don't learn, they try to drive at the same rate of speed as when it's dry pavement.Kept driving at 60kl, left plenty of room between cars and took no changes. Saying there will be squalls again in this region but nothing for at home.

It will be nice for you to sit Shirley and take out your mom's treasure, feel the materials she touched and get the blanket done..what a treasure that would be. If Tubby's nephew has 1/4 of Tubby's personality no wonder he is teasing you..wonderful that he keeps in touch.

Drama, don't most families have it at some point. My cousin Linda works for the courts, Allan goes in front of the judge today, if nobody bails him out/acts as his assurers then he will stay there..praying that is what will happen, he stays until his trial.

Katie, I don't think I've ever seen aloe in bloom??
When you say it's cold there Katie, what is cold to you??? freezing weather??

Verona, ON

It is -37* on my deck...... yep that's cold. Even the dogs ran home before our walk was over this morning. Sunny and bitter cold ....... Debbie can keep the snow.

Need to stoke the woodstove. Will BBL

Good morning, Shirley so great to see you!!! You have been missed!

Crissy is swamped with work, got a quite email from her yesterday, she is doing pretty good. Says "Hello" to everyone and
hopes she will be back soon.

I don't know about this snow. Was supposed to be stopped by 10:00 this morning, its 11:00 and still falling!!!

This is the back yard this morning

Debbie, please/please don't sent it my way, don't want to be out shovelling in this cold.
Can't even imagine why Greg is leaving to go 12 hrs. north to snowmobile for a week..drats, he must still be young at heart.

Photo's are so pretty, bet the southern gals are say, pretty to look at but you can keep it.
Debbie, did I ever give to you an antique looking chicken on a slate piece..I was organizing last night/early morning and found one, can't think other than you who I would have bought it for???

making piles to send next time I'm over the border..clean/clean/clean
Thunder, porcelain heads/hand will come your way

We're getting about the same then Dianne, that wood stove heat is so different from electric or gas, lucky you.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

It is such a pain in the backside and yet it is so pretty!!! Love seeing the puppy prancing about in it!!! We aren't supposed to get anything except some flurries until Friday and then we are getting hit too. The last storm stayed out to sea which was great for us here...
Wonderful to see you Shirley. And Glad to hear some cheer in your post too. I'm especially happy to hear about Tubby's nephew calling you. That family gave you such a hard time but it is good to know it wasn't all of them... Welcome back .....

Lyndonville, NY

No Betty, I don't have that. I have the chicken on the wooden sign which is about 18 inch square...Rooster Morgan

Barb, she loves it outside but it is too cold even for her to stay out long. There are cold warnings all over the TV for people and pets/animals.
Someone actually reported Horses without shelter to animal welfare.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

We have all the warnings about the cold today too. Not quite as bad as you and Betty but bad enough. Any time it goes below zero anywhere it is bad. Good for the people reporting horses outside. I know they need to move but at least put a blanket on them and then only for a little while. When the temp goes below 30* my pulmonologist says I am to stay inside. Good reason to sew don't you think??? I can't breathe when it is that cold - even with a scarf. So I haven't been out of the house since last Wed!!!! But I'm happy...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Then it must have been for you! Put that in another pile!

Was just speaking with Linda (works at courthouse) and apparently Allan is being taken back to penetang jail and will be returned tomorrow for court again. I asked why that would be, thought it was today if no assurers/bail then that was it. She said likely bail was being processed by someone and he'd have to wait until tomorrow when all is official. Drats, that wouldn't be good!!!

Listening to talk show on my way in, they were saying that they were trying to have something put into force that if they see a homeless person it allows them to bring them out of the cold even if they say they do not want to go..interested to see if it could happen

Victoria Harbour, ON

Barb think what you need for the winter is one of those neck warmers with the deer hyde..you mean you need an excuse to sew, spit out my coffee on that one. Norm must be finding it difficult working in this cold weather.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

I guess it is cold every where !!! we had those warnings last night / this morning, to bring in pets and plants....

every one stay warm, and sew something wonderful..

Victoria Harbour, ON

And what wonderful thing will you be sewing Thunder? lol

Have to call Darlene and see what kind of temperature she's having in Fort Myers

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

no sewing, off to work in a few minutes.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

hmmmm not so cold here I guess........ not compared to where Betty & Debbie are!! minus 12c right now, and it's evening so cooled down a bit.
so, Allen may be getting released? geeze....who do you suppose would put up his bail?! hmmmmm

it's supposed to go to plus 3F tomorrow. Not bad, if there's no wind........ it's been windy & blowing here.

mulege, Mexico

It was warmer here today. A nice change. Bad news: I got bitten by a scorpion. Not too bad but a good reminder that they are out there.

I had a nice visit with Dana. Gave her some plants and we looked for plants that she can use as a shield between her and noisy neighbors. She was complimentary about my progress on matters organizational. Also about how neat the new garden in front looks.

My bitten finger tingles and is a little swollen. Time for Benadryl and bed.

hugs, katie
