Betty, the flu is horrible over here. Honest to goodness, I would think twice. The urgent care centers and the hospitals are packed, all nursing homes have stopped
visitation of groups (kids come in to sing) and are also handing out masks to families. There have been schools that have closed for long weekends as of
low attendance and everyone having flu and no teachers well enough to work.
It just seemed to fit the Dorothy I got to know, LK.
We are so lucky here...Flash Floods and Flu...whoo hoo...what a winter.
Very similar here Debbie, Midland hospital was closed so guess one could take it as 'catch it there or catch it here!' Will gab with the girls, think Linda was coming for the ride, not sure about Suanne..thought even to ask Ann..will decide later.
Oh Mary so sorry about Dorothy, I'm sending a whole lot of thoughts and prayers, I have an apartment and a house to pay for now and don't make enough money at my full time State job to pay for both and my second job is temporary/seasonal and about to end.

Debbie so glad Paul is getting r done! LOL now he's wanting to travel everywhere, that's great! The flu doesn't stop at state/country lines, and it's just everywhere, and it's very nasty.
Today is the first day I have felt decent since January 2nd, that's the day I caught the crap.

brrr -5 this a.m. then come into the office and it feels almost as cold. The micro heater I had gave up and I meant to bring in another so here I sit with jacket on.
Last night after taking a bath, pain killers (double dose) I slept off and on, early morning I couldn't for the life of me go back to sleep so off I went and did some sewing..girls were coming to sew today, seeing as Darlene who teaches painting with them is away for the winter they decided that Pat could teach them a few projects..as I left, I look back into my craft room and saw how well organized I was and gave myself credit for being on top of things.
Was talking to Darlene Katie, both of us thought for sure you would have had your package by now..
For those I promised scissor sharpener and blade to, they are in envelopes waiting to be mailed out..with potentially going to Buffalo this week I thought I'd mail from there..if I don't go, will mail out on Friday. Still wondering with all this flu epidemic going on if I should. News was saying they think that a 2 year old child has succumb to the flu..as always, police are investigating but they warn everyone not to jump to conclusions, entire family has been ill since before Christmas.
No hurry on the mailing of the sharpeners Betty. When you get to it!
Will photo copy a few projects re twister to include..must remind myself to do so tomorrow at Staples with color photo-copier..ours is down

Dear Mary - I meant to tell you that on Sunday I made a recipe from the Louisiana cookbook you sent to me in the Christmas swap. It was for "Touch of Orange Coffee Cake". And it was sooooo good. I did add some dried cranberries like the recipe suggested and it came out perfectly. Thank you again for such a thoughtful gift. I'll be trying more of these.......

giggle giggle Dianne, the other day Dh came home with a hot tub! lol, not sure how happy I am about that, but he's wanted one forever...anyway, Julia's BF came to help unload it...I was surprised to see him so, I asked, were you summonsed or come to visit? He said summonsed, lol as soon as my hands fled to my hips he added quickly to visit too!! haha
Wow, today i was kind of thrown off, Jacob drove himself to school, so my taxing is going to be at a minimum, yay.
Also, I decided to get off my lazy behind and DO something! Well, really i have been busy searching for a job, decided this internet job hunting truly stinks!! But I've managed to get some resumes out and a few leads on companies that are excepting faxes, so we'll see what happens.
Today I am just really doing a little of everything, nothing too exciting...It's really very cold only 16 at the moment.
I started a book a couple of days ago and have not picked it up so will add at least one hour of reading time.
I've already got the billing done so the rest of the day is good to play!! Oh and i got to get on the phone with the service, I've been with a phoneline for a couple days, not sure whats up with that!

You should be proud Betty! Your craft room is awesome and so organized. Try to keep mine that way too, but it only last a short time, lolol...
Oh Betty, I talked with BJ the other night, she says hello to everyone. She is doing well, still waiting to see if she and Don will take a trip, sounds exciting.

Waving 'hi' Judy, I'm so used to Darlene when doing painting calling me if they weren't coming didn't even call to confirm the girls were coming today. Called, no answer so called Ann, seems Pat caught that flu so cancelled out. I asked Ann to come for stew tonight before I have to throw it away. Want to give her a list of fabrics she will need for placemats..she wants to learn how..with Fabricland having such great deals now is the time to get fabric. Soooo I was nice and tidy and nobody came..boo hoo!
You are not missing being a taxi driver are you? Likely just missing one on one time with Jacob. How long before you can use the hot-tub, know Steve is busy but bet he'll find time to get it going.

Betty, no package yet. I just checked the post office. Got an official letter: they are holding a package of seeds from my friend in Costa Rica. I'll get Tony to take me to town tomorrow to ransom them if we can.
Today is cold and windy. Everyone is bundled up. This is a much colder winter than usual.
Tony made a"fence" for me out of the outside frame of a dryer - cut it down to three sides and opened them up to make a small fence that blocks the lower view of all my trees and plants that are in pots/bags waiting to see if our hilltop is going to be expanded. My idea; Tony's work. It makes the new garden look much neater.
Still neatening up the bedroom. I have laundry to do but am hoping it will warm up a little, Dishes are piling up again - the problem with an outdoor sink - they are out of sight and it's cold. Two good reasons to procrastinate.

Thunder - do you still put the ribbons on your fence????
I put the ribbons on the fence when one of my boys is on a mission, not on U.S. soil. no one currently . I have done ribbons for my son, and very close family friends, two young men I call my 1/2 sons. best friends of my boys, that have spent many hours under my roof. one of them here visiting right now, just got home from Afghanistan.
I start at one end of the fence, and work my way down the driveway then across the front yard. usually by the time I get across the front, we start taking down the ones at the beginning because they are all faded and falling apart from the sun.
I do not have any of those pictures on this computer.

It is estimated that as many as 1 out of every 1 person in North America is addicted to sleep. If you're trying to get the snooze-monkey off your back, don't go cold turkey - here's a few of the helpful aids that you might use to wean yourself:
1) a toddler 2) a cat 3) high-speed internet. Use all three at once, and your tiresome daily descent into sleep-fuelled unconsciousness will be a thing of the past!
Barb, Ann was over for supper, I updated her on Norm and yourself..sending you hugs.
She is into watercolors right now, gave her some books to look at, she has decided to paint 3 or four panels of flowers and make a wallhanging..lol. I remembered somewhere I had rice paper, half way through bingo I remembered where.
We didn't win at bingo but Ann went home with rice paper and a zillion ideas. Lol
Now to bed..

Off to have my interview tomorrow........ looking forward to it.
Found out that I will not be considered for the position I'm covering now. "No chemistry" between my boss & I. Well, this makes about 5 women I've worked for and just can't seem to work successfully with them...... interviewing with 2 men tomorrow lol
Palm tree, Selloum a type of philodendron, horse tails and umbrella plant ( yes papyrus ) growing in my pond, which you can not see because the horse tails and umbrella plants are over grown....need to be thinned. a silver something? plant, ferns, oxalis, liriope....cows across the street :)
New Grand Baby is another Pink Angel It's a Girl !!! still saying mid May.
Sorry Betty Barb asked, I just tried to answer.... found a picture from when Judy was here. we put ribbons up for Vince. My 1/2 son who is here now :) you can see how they go all around the fence.. did not mean to be a tease.....

Good morning, everyone. Yukky dreams/nightmares. Woke up in a rotten mood. Exited my bedroom to find Tony sweeping the patio and the sun coming up. I sang a bit of "Here comes the sun" and felt better.
It's cold. I don't like it.

Betty, did you sne your package registered mail? Sometimes they just take a while between usps and Mexican postale. I'll see if we can get our Costa Rican seeds back from the government this am.
Having survived my family of origin I just don't think it's fair when I dream I''m back with them.
Need extra furbaby snuggles. Off to get them while I watch the morning news.
