Dorothy's sister and daughters are planning on removing mechanical devices on Sunday or Monday. She is alive only on machines and drugs.
I keep telling myself that it is His will and that He knows what is best for our Dorothy. I'm so very sad with this turn of events but I'll be grateful if this means no more suffering for her. God bless you dear friend...
Best/Worse/What I did learn today? Chat with friends..
Betty, this is the latest on Dorothy...
Dorothy is no better in fact worse. It is only because of the machines and drugs that she is still here. Sunday or Monday morning we plan to have the hospital take her off life support. She had always said she did not want to be kept this way.
So please say prayers for her Sister Mary and the family, as they make this decision, and lose a loved one!
We crossed posted Barb, sorry!
Morning everyone! No, I have not sewn the bags yet, I need to get the sewing machine out, and get busy. I have several projects cut out and waiting to be sewn. One is the square fabric apron for a swap, and then two of Barb's bags. Then I am making two queen size tops for a lady on facebook, she makes purple heart quilts for the injured soldiers. It will look like this one when finished.
Good morning everyone,
crissy, I sure hope you are feeling better. I've missed you. Glad to see you posting again.
My thumb is all healed. Last night I accidently touched Max's back. He didn't snap but jumped off the bed as if he'd been burned. Great progress. I am still careful - He is very strong and can do a lot of damage if scared. He sometimes snaps at the other dogs but mot as hard - mostly just his "macho" act. He plays a lot, especially with Jenny and Scout who are both much bigger than he is but very gentle. I had both of them as puppies and they don't have that fearful response. If he gets real aggressive they just go "whatever" and roll over so he knows he's not threatened.
Felt much better yesterday and got some work done in the new garden. I'm getting beds ready to plant beets. And a few other things. It's still chilly here, especially in the morning. I'm filling sand bags as temporary homes for my fruit trees and mixing soil for my new planters.
My right shoulder muscles are still recovering from being frozen for so long. Tony gets to do any heavy lifting and digging.
Big hugs, Mary, Be kind to yourself.
hugs, katie
I do not know Dorothy but will keep her and family in my thoughts and prayers.
Having some back spasms but have a full day planned with projects DH wants to do. I will be the supervisor no doubt.
Have to tear drywall out of DSs room from the water leak/chimney issue a couple months ago...and rebuild closet.
DS is at Community service and needs to be here to help with this also. I might just buy him a gallon of paint too.
Enjoy your day, beautiful quilt.
Debbie
(((((((((Mary)))))))) We're here for you, hon.......
about Dorothy - Whether it's the Lord's will to gather her in his arms back to her home, or have her stay on as an Earthly Angel, His Will be done. I'm not feeling quite so selfish about this.
I remember when she was part of a swap (RWB), group I was in. She was too ill to done one for me, so she sent me a pattern pic of what she would do if she could, so I made it then she sent me a pic of her signature. I heat transferred the signature to the piece. So...... I have a block she "made"
Here's a pic of Dorothy - hope that copyright wording doesn't cover her...........
WOW LK two queen tops!!! that is wonderful of you to do!!!! are you going to be using her pattern??
I got the pattern from Janetta Killough. She is spearheading this group to make them.
Oh my, are we all sick or just plain worn out today? No posts since noon.
Rainy, dull and dreary - I have to keep going back to the car where Terese's photo was carefully put on the dash so we wouldn't forget it. HA! Very grey sky - it sort of looks like a storm is brewing to the west of me.One good thing about the weather is that the temps are wonderful for an outdoor wedding. Not too hot and there isn't a vending machine in sight.
Few brave or maybe I should say crazy souls out there ice fishing. I can't bear to look.

I'm here, I'm here, both girls just left..DID have a clean craft room, Lordy what a mess..Rita went home with nothing but a piece of the twister project...had an extra tool, gave it to her....
then we got chrismas fabric out so I could show her the placemats..Linda brought her machine so while Linda was doing rag quilt Rita and I sewed strips. Cut them all out for placemats, wouldnt you know we did not account for our difference in seam widths so now I have some fixing to do. I did 1/4" and she did 1/2" oh oh makes a difference.
On the angry side, cleaning up and found 2 $20. Both had left $$$ plus
they wouldn't let me pay for pizza..I'll teach them, will take $$ and go to Fabricland and buy Christmas fabric, next workday they can make a set or two..I do this for entertainment not to earn money and I know you will all have reasons for why I should accept it but you shall not convince me!! So there..
So sorry about Dorothy, the LORD works in mysterious ways!
Off to clean craft room, will gab and re read threads a bit later

Have a good trip into Orilla Betty!
Hope you (I mean Paul) got the closet done! and how did the soup come out Debbie? Bet it was delicious!!
I tried to get a picture of skittle playing for you but ...it's impossible!
Such Great news about Dad Linda Kay, Been keeping him in prayers and will continue for quick healing!!
Not much going on...Dianne, it was a very lazy day and today too...I hope you got home before that storm hit??
Was quite warm yesterday and today the winter has blown back our way, only 28!! A good day for a fire and a book huh? Oh yah!! You have my interest big time, a piece of glass for me??? Hmmmm.
Thank you all for the thoughts and suggestions on the Ornament. Told Steve of the ideas and he is so grateful for them...yes the shipping of it is really the next big issue, will have to watch for the perfect box...it's just so fragile.
Oh Mary, sending you some tight Armwraps!! I sure hope you got to unwind during the weekend and I hope the coming week is much better!
Susan, waiving hello there...hope your having a good weekend as well.
...wanted to say (long time ago) yep, think your right about the scents thing...
Well Dh went off yesterday to rent a truck and move a Hot tub...Joyces, ex Chuck left her everything, I guess. So she is giving us the HT!! Steve is thrilled, he has always wanted one...well anyway, he got a flat on the rental and had to wait over an hour for them to come with a spare...yikes by the time he got to Rockford, it was dark and all the helpers left...poor guy was so upset. So this morning I guess a few will come back to get the thing loaded onto the truck...LOL Im not sure how i feel about it here, but am sure it will be wonderful for DH and Jakes aching bodies!! well and maybe mine too, hehe.
Not too much going on, just going to enjoy the day reading and playing around I guess!
Oh lets see, Jake had Senior night at wrestling on Friday night...all the parents came up and were recognized with the Kids..Each mom was given a white rose and OMG, We were last (alpha order) and Jacob literally bowed to me as he presented the rose to me, was so cute and I was just delighted!!
Thanks for the Coffee...im off for another cup, been up for hours already!
Judy, he is working on it now. He had to spray some type of "anti-mold" cleaner in there and it had to dry over night. SO, now that all that is dried up and safe, he is starting on the drywall.
Soup turned out very well, Paul ate two big bowls. Shane didn't like it, but I have enough left for lunch a couple times this week.
OHHH Senior year! you will love it! And he is so cute, bowing. LOL I think this is the year they finally recognize what WE went through getting them
to all those sporting events and school functions.....and the teachers make sure they do also.
Can you believe it is 61 out....and I woke up to motorcycles racing down the road!!!
Good Morning.
Happiest of Birthdays Katie. I hope your day is full of happy moments.
Strange weather here...we had sun yesterday for the first time in a week...75 degrees and a breeze. WhooHoo. It is supposed to start raining again this afternoon and drop to the 40's tonight and only low 50's tomorrow, with nights dipping to the mid 30's and rain through Wednesday.....sure wish the weather would make up its mind.
Hope you all have a sweet day.
Jean
Happy Birthday Katie !!
Happy Birthday Katie.
Ty, ty. kb
Back from my mission, hair cut, wood cut for turntable cutting board, wasted my $$$ on the one I bought for $50, wood for the ironing pad, trip to Fabricland, glad I followed my instinct to go to Midland first, Fabricland opens at noon...such helpful ladies, talked me into 23 yards of Christmas fabric, supplies for ironing table, quilting gloves..and Just 1:30
Going to go play at doing the 2 project then I'll be happy with my weekend. Also bought a few totes..will put Christmas fabric in one and all the odds/sods of Christmas fabric in the other. So when I get lonely I can cut into squares and strips, less work with I decide to do something. Lol. Imagine me organized!!
Debbie, always a mess when you get into these projects but it has to be done and you are lucky Paul is able to..I envy you and Judy having a handy man..tell Paul I'm still waiting for my window greenhouse lol
You've made me hungry for soup or stew..before I get into something should take a ride to the store and have it cooking, that way I'd also have a few meals for the week.
Jean, can you believe it was in 50,s here yesterday and near that today..almost no snow, gee whiz, I could have been raking those leaves I didn't do in the fall but it didn't sound like fun. You sure are getting a lot of rain..I asked Darlene and she said she has been having sunshine..guess she is far enough south to have it.
Judy you will so love the hot tub, I miss mine..had it in the basement, was the first thing I did when I got home from work..on those hard days you can just mellow out in it. jake is just too adorable!!
Happy Birthday Katie. And may you enjoy many many more!!!!
Yeah, this whole rain mess is being generated in Mexico and is pushing harder to the north than the east. It is accompanied by a cold front this time...earlier in the week it was also generated by a cold front, but the front moved in...felt that warm air and decided to be a warm front instead. Don't think that will happen this time.
All summer we prayed for rain to alleviate the heat and dry gardens....our prayers were answered...a bit late mayhap, but we have gotten more than 10 inches over 7 days with more to come....gurss there is some real truth to the old adage...Be careful what you ask for....you just might get it....GRIN
That IS a lot of rain..we've had quite a bit here as well but nothing like you..enough though to rid us of the snow..liked the snow, make things look clean lol
Newfoundland Canda is getting hit hard, not sure but think Manitoba as well and further north Ontario..calling for snow mid week but nothing really unless it changes.
got my turntable made, glue has to cure, lets hope bond 6000 works bonding cutting matt to wood, just put a lot of weight on it..won't touch it for a day or two..have the ironing board covered, got to get my compressor and air stappler and attach fabric to the board and then there shouldn't be much I need in the sewing department..famous last word.
Debbie, got a homemade stew a cooking, starting to smell good..I cut strips to do 16 Christmas placemats..put all my large pieces of fabric in one tote..think to keep me from burning supper I'll take odds and sods and cut them in shapes that way it will keep me upstairs..
must phone my brother..he was to come to see what I wanted done in the washroom upstairs and to finish off this little room where the furnace and computer is..have a photo, now I need pricing..he is a no show..have to call him again this week. If Debbie and Judy would send me their DH I wouldn't have to keep calling my brother..what do you think girls???
Betty, Paul must have spring fever, wants to fire up the grill for supper with either hot dogs or hamburgs. We have both been working all day cleaning. And he has the closet almost finished, drywall tape and compound is drying.
I told Paul he had to go to Canada, that you had work for him. He said "if thats what you want to do, we can...just make a list". Are you still planning on coming over
this coming weekend?
As far as I know unless things change Debbie I'll drive over early Saturday...IF I can con someone into coming with me after work Friday and return home Saturday night then mores the fun as my deceased SIL would say lol
Paul's just too cute...you don't know how you get used to having a hubby who could do all and then be without..seems a lot of things I want done I can't do on my own..I did do drywall downstairs, the floors upstairs, the ceramic tile in the kitchen but this little room I want framed, the rest I could do, but then all I did could be the reason my old back isn't as good as it was..
He accomplished much with your help..nice feeling to be so productive on the weekend..you get to appreciate Monday's
sewing strips as I wait for the stew to be ready..another 1/2 hr and I'll enjoy my meal..
here is my 'today's projects'
ironing board-covered (ironing board was just too small)
didn't like the rotating matt I bought months ago so made my own..
Busy, busy, busy - that's our Betty. Got a lot accomplished girl. Good job!!!
Mary just sent me a message, and said Dorothy has gone to be with the Lord!
I sent her lots of hugs!
Sorry to hear that LindaKay..she wasn't that elderly was she?
Not for sure how old she was, I know she had three grown daughters, but not for sure of their ages? I am assuming she was about my age, mid 50's or early 60's?
May she rest in peace and may the good Lord send her family peace and strength. God Bless Dorothy.....
Very young, Lord's plan includes both young and old!
Tired, bed is calling, rest well my friends
Happy Birthday, Katie!!!! Hope you had a great one!!!!!
LK - I will definitely send a card to Mary - thanks for the address..............
Drats, here I lay, wide awake , sure hoping I'm not going to start this again.
Pouring, might even have the odd chunk in it..
((HUGS))) Dianne...Betty... Barb... Katie...Susan... and all... Just going through a hard time... Thank you for missing me... Love youall
Mary
You are up late Mary, just know we are here for you!
Bessie Lou, you better get to bed! You have work in a few hours!
Dang dog is barking again, wants in....wants out....wants out....then barks at everything out there.
Wind is picking up, think that hurts her ears and has much to do with it.
Get some rest!!! Going to try again.
Debbie
Olooks like I'm not the only one who isn't sleeping, bet you are overtired as well.
Meant to say that while I was in the grocery store picking up stew supplies I ran into Rita, Cathy's mom..had a bit of a chat..I asked how the family was then asked how Cathy was doing, she kind of skirted around the subject, never really got an answer. She said she would drop in though.
