YAHOOOOOOOO!!! WE GOT THE HOUSE!!!!!!! Will be moving in Friday but first PG&E has to check for a gas leak

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wow, that was sudden, why do they want so much money?
Glad to hear you got a new place to live in! Moving sucks, but hopefully you have some freinds to help out?

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

They want $61,000 for Medical plus $31,000 for the loan that was thru the state grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and this ugly house is only worth .................................a whropping $11,000 lol

But I am so happy about this move hee hee, it has the cutest itty bitty front yard and a front porch. I will be happy to decorate for the holidays now ^_^ plus a garage for my LiL' Sporty yea baby

congrats Cindy
going to bed myself
austin is constipated and he hurts awful. gave him some meds to help move things along. hope they work soon. i ran out of mineral oil . that usually helps him move it right along quickly.
good night

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Jaye - prayers for Margaret and her DH - must be so scary for them.....

Cindy - yaaaaaaay - to find a house just down the street - how awesome is that?!?! Congrats!
and wearing a splint for another 2 weeks - don't overdo on the packing and hustling to move!

Poor Austin! Hope he feels better in the morning.

LK - Dylan is so adorable! What cute chubby cheeks! (nuzzle, nuzzle!!)

My interview this afternoon was one hour........ tired afterwards, then had to walk 10 blocks to meet Bob - exhausted! I believe the interview went well. 1st one boss (Gary) for about 40 min, then 2nd boss (Phil) was introduced to me, and Gary left. Phil & I talked for 20 min. Gary & I had a good talk - he told me about the job, and I asked some great questions that he apparently appreciated. Then when Phil came in he said he wouldn't talk as long lol
They want an EA who will become an Office Manager (Great! I have my certification in Office Administration!). One said they should decide before Feb 3, and the other said maybe mid-Feb (when they come back from business trip to Africa). Gary seemed impressed (he's the CEO) and Phil (VP) seemed to play his cards closer to his vest (said they have others to interview). I told Phil I was a little disappointed to hear it may not start until mid to late Feb. Ah well, if I get the job maybe I can be extended at TransAlta (where I'm contracted now).
Anyway, I will know what I know when I know it LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! I was so tired, I crashed at 8 last night!
Susan, sounds like you had a good interview! Praying you hear something soon!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

What a busy bunch. Great you found a place to move to so quickly Cindy.

LK there is a way to remove the gel nail polish without filing. I need to wait until Kim returns home to find out but she does hers periodically and when it comes time to remove it, she does. I had it done once but when they filed it off at the salon, they roughed up my nails so badly I wouldn't have it done again.

Cool, rainy dreary day here.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

It's supposed to snow here!!! But it's snowing at Sis Kathy's!!
Oh dear.. she wasn't expecting that. Just talked to her, and she'll be doing 'mother duties' all over again!
I was more worried over the goats :D Thank God, she won't be eating Jack and Annie and Tinkerbell!!
Hope the snow won't last long. Imagine that.. snowing in Alabama!

Cindy, God was looking out for you gal! You don't need to hire movers for sure!!
I know you'd be planning what to do with your new garden.

So Marion, you had your toe nails professionally done too?
Too afraid to go to salons to do my nails. Heard of 'over' filing and fungal infections.

Me too Susan. May you get an A Plus for your interviews.

LK, we just have to admit we ain't young anymore to take these long stretches of being OOT!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, I have heard of those infections too, but if you go to a place, just make sure to check that all items are cleaned before you stick your feet in the tubs. I get my pedicure in the summer time, and it feels so good! Love getting pampered!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hi Ladies,

Busy, Busy day here, lol. Packing, laundry, packing, break, packing lol............................

Two things helped us get this house so quickly......it had been empty for awhile and realtors were happy to get it rented as they were loosing money................and one of Doug's friends works with the realtors

Here is a pic of front of house the left side is small I'm thinking I will put the Angel there, the other side leads to the back yard and the dogs will have to go thru there so don't know exactly what I'm going to do with that side

Nice house Cindy! You will be moved in, in no time, and have your garden all planned out!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I heard today (from the agency) that the company is looking at 3 other candidates for the job.
I just finished typing a Thank You letter for the interview and their consideration. Hope it puts me "over the top". Now...... to find a #10 business envelope.....

morning
have lots to do today .
Susan good luck on the job hope the letter helps you get it.
Cindy the house is sooooo cute !! i love it.
love mani and pedi too. I have had bad ones and great ones. I avoid the places at the mall ! IMHO.
well time to get moving
eating gluten free rolled oats today with raisins.... yum...... not.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You have a porch now, Cindy!! You'd be a 'swangin' soon!
It's a pretty house girl.

Susan, may this be the one for you. A nice touch there with a letter after interview.

It didn't snow here yesterday, but last night we were caught in a torrential downpour when we were at Myrtle Beach.
It's all Kel's fault!!!
Yesterday morning, I accompanied Kel to the podiatrist, and in the waiting room were 2 tvs blasting how the area including ours would be getting rain.
Well.. do you think that man listens? Nope. He insisted on returning yesterday evening to pick up some supplies.
Just because it didn't rain in the afternoon, doesn't mean it's going to stay that way all day.. when chances of rain were at 100%... and accompanied by strong winds too!!
Stepped out of the box truck when we reached WM, BAM, the rain started pouring!
The good thing that came out of this is.. it's WM and I could change into dry clothings from underwear to outerwear. Of course, he's forced to pay for them! Oh yes, got a couple of umbrellas too.
Would you believe that he was wearing a muscle shirt too yesterday evening?? The temps dropped 20* more.

Okay.. that's a nice vent!!

Morning sistahs!!

Sue, are you allergic to gluten? Is it part of your diet?

I'm off again.. if anyone follows my FB postings, this time is to get more fencing materials to try to finish at least one side of the property.
Kel, yes sistahs, my smart Kel, had only the front side of the property fenced, with a double gate of course!!! I told him that thieves can easily cross the ditches on the left, the right and the rear!!!! Do it all or not do it at all!
Anyone want a second hand husband?

Glenview, IL

ROFLOL...Sistah maybe if we lump them all together something just might get accomplished!!
(talking husbands of course!)

So, ive been with out a land line for a week...finally called and everyone baffled as to why no line...wellll, we've had a mouse - mice chomping on the line!! Took the guy quite a while, but he found the problem and its now solved...soo I was making my ringle jingle rounds. lol...
Then of course to add to dilemma, NO heat!! got that fixed too, but need to put in a new thermometer!
Dh is off running mom to Docs and all kinds of other errands...lol so glad its him and not me...

Cindy, nice house, yay for a porch!! Always loved them and i an just imagine what a beautiful garden you'll create around it!!

Hope that fence gets finished Sistah, oh golly, nothing like getting caught in torrential downpour!! LOL, so glad you got dry stuff, lol what a way to get a new outfit, gotta love it!

OMG, just look at Dylan, that is just one happy lil man, glad you had a great time snuggling him up!!!

Well, I've played a bit with the scroll saw, only broke 2 blades!! But Im thinking, the cut is real cool but the piece comes together in the sanding!! But today I have to put that away and get some sewing projects Finished..so thats what i am going to play with today...Sewing and im trying to read at least a chapter a day, so far thats not working out, it's more like a chapter a week.

Oh Susan, sure hope the interview was successful, nice touch writing a thank you note, I always thought it was a good way to "Seal" the deal, so I hope they do to!!

alright, better go do something. hope you enjoy the day.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh, those darn mice can be so destructive! Glad to hear you got it fixed, not set out some mice bait, and get rid of them!

Jaye, sorry you got caught in the rain, but at least you got new clothes!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Use peppermint oil.....will work wonders!! Mice and squirrels don't like the smell.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Good Morning Ladies,

This moving is going to be a pain in the A$$, my bummed hand, Doug's bad back, and none of his so called "friends" around to help us. Whenever one of his friends calls for help he is there, but for them to return the favor....are you kidding!!!! His mom and step-siter are coming to help pack, but we need muscles to get the heavy stuff out. My daughter and Doug's dad are coming tomorrow. Don't know what his dad is going to do but if he starts to dictate, I will blow my top!!!!!! Losing this house is really hard on his mom, she has been crying everyday since she got the dreadful letter, and it's hard on Doug too. He hates moving for one, this is his grmma's house and he HATES California! I am so sick and tired of listening to him rant and rave about how crappy CA is, gggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

My gf Sheri, is buying us new furniture for the house, when she told me that I just cried like a baby ^_^, She has been the BEST friend to me and I LOVE her dearly. I can't wait to get in the house to see if the pieces I picked out will fit, if not back to shopping, lol

hooray Sheri , what a wonderful surprise for you !
Dylan is a sweety .
good to know on the mice bait. We had critters chew our lines also. First day we moved into our house here and a squirrel chewed the electric line by the road ??? well lets just say....... KFS ( kentucky fried squirrel )
glad you didn't get no snow Jaye but sorry about the rain and getting caught in it. That sucks.
no not allergic to gluten but i just think i feel better when i don't eat it. I do love my cake and cookies .... :( but i will have them in smaller doses..... BWHahahaha who am i kidding right ? small doses HA ! i just allow myself one or two days a week for a cake or some goodies of choice.
i need to loose weight. I m not happy with my extra nor is my hip and joints. Getting some heart test done next week. I m exhasuted by the time i hit the mid way on the stairs. can't say why ?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, sure hope you can get some help, with out the bickering!
Congrats on the new furniture!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Darn sistah Judy... you're into woodwork now? Thank you Betty for inspiring our sistah here to pick up a new hobby.
As long as she doesn't pick up a chain saw!! Lolol!!
No mice problem here, but a land line is very important.

MIL dropped her landline phone, said she don't need it.. and relied on her cell phone.
Bad mistake.. she couldn't get reception one day.. when she needed an ambulance to transport Murdock!!
She had to walk over to the neighbour's (who she had unfriended) to call Kel!!

Ah so.. Sue.. thanks for that gluten free tip. I think I'll do the same. I can't even do one step.
To help with caloric counting, just for my evening meals, I'll do a Lean Cuisine. And no more foraging after 9 or maybe 10.. Lolol!!
Good luck on your heart test girl. Right move there, want you around forever!

Marion, how's the weather there? Do you need the ark, or a huge bottle of suntan oil?
It's returning to what winter should feel here.

We all love Sheri!!! Tell her that for us please Cindy!!
Doug knows now who he can count on, and for that heartache, at least you got Sheri who knows you deserve all the help!
I'd be squealing like a little girl if I'm told I can get a whole set of new furniture!
Thank you Sheri for taking care of our sistah Cindy here.

Not a fun way to get new clothes LK. It's me with the sneezes now, not muscle man!!! I slept for a couple of hours this afternoon, and about to hit the sack again.
Tylenol to the rescue!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Take some vitamin C Jaye! Get some rest, and surnope your feeling better soon! You have had your share of colds already!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

ok - my current contract has been extended again! 3 weeks more.
They know that I am waiting to hear back re: interview and that I may have to wait about 3 weeks before I could start if I'm chosen... so, the kind people they are, they've extended me that long! What sweethearts, eh?
Went to dinner & a movie tonight - Montana's, and "Life Of Pi" - both fabulous!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Congrats on the extension!
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thanks LK!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Been a busy clean house day for me - no sewing!!!! But we can eat dinner off the floor if necessary!!! Rest all day tomorrow!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Has anyone heard from Anita? She has not posted in a long time!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Nope, haven't heard from her in my Round Robin thread, either.....

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Barb, thank you for sending that cleaning angel to me.
Spent one hour picking up after the cats and Kel.
Spent another hour decluttering the closet.
Do the same for me tomorrow Barb!!
Won't be resting here, as I would like so much to clean the yard for sure before Kel decide to extend Hambone's living quarters!

Susan, LK.. I replied @ the other place..

Tired.. gonna open a box of Lean Cuisine.. my goto meals for low calories.
The older I get, the my will power diminish..
Lord help me!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

((((((((((Jaye))))))))))
I have a "fitness" support thread in the other room.

I'll be discussing with my Round Robin group about Dorothy's quilt.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Mor inf everyone,,sounds like tou all have the cleaning bug? You have my address when your done! :)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon everyone,

Winter wonderland here today, so pretty if you don't have to go out. Managed to get groceries done, was in Buffalo yesterday so didn't do my regular trip into town and if I want to eat had to drive in..have family coming for supper, best I coud have offered would have neen order in..instead we are having chicken and slidders, Greg will be thrilled as its his favorite,,might even throw in bread pudding if I an tear myself away from sewing.

Here is hoping tomorrow will be a snow day..person can hope right?

we have some serious cold coming in this week ! yikes tuesday predicted temps of 4 with a windchll -15 ! yikes. i imagine kids won't have school on that day nor do they have school on monday.
may get some light snow also on monday.
have a good family time Betty. :)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Reading family moments from my sistahs, make me wish my cats are real kids. Not all the 22 though!! I had the chance to adopt, regret that I listened to ex saying it's an inconvenience to have a family when we're always living in suitcases.
Now.. I'm too old for one.
Thus I envy you Betty. So much good memories made with your family gatherings.
Nothing wrong with chicken prepared any ways. Throw some left over sliders my way Betty!

Sue, it's a temperamental winter we've been seeing here. Cold last night and woke up to a summer like day!! I know the doctors will be padding their pockets with more sick patients.
I'm due for a flu shot but so far, touch wood, just the occasional cold for me.

Got to bring 2 more rescues to be snip-snip tomorrow. Might stop at CVS for a flu shot. One parent got to be around for these kids at all times!!

Not all done with house cleaning LK. Since the weather's beautiful.. cleaned up the back area. High winds have scattered tree limbs and I had picked enough for a mini marshmallow roast!! Lolol!!
Sistahs.. don't do like me.. rescued too many cats here. I am always watching the grounds when walking. If not one of the multi dozens would be tripping me!!
They don't even fear the cane :D

Sue, Kel and I love hummus. I'd get the Sabra brand. Healthy way to satisfy our tummies when we want to forage for snacks.
Kel has lost quite a bit, since he laid off the chips and just have vege sticks and hummus.
Now to get him off his diet soda.. it would be a home run to a much more healthier Kel.
Not that I'm healthier than him. He's diabetes hasn't reached that dangerous stage. His pancreas is still working at 100% and I don't want him to be dependant on insulin 5 times a day, like me.

Marion, I'm sure Kim has that will power to stay on a healthy course.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I don't think I have ever had pumus? What is it? How do you eat it?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hummus is a MidEastern delicacy.
It is made with chickpeas and tahini. You could use it as a dip or sandwich filling too.
WM carries the Sabra brand. Try the one with pine nuts.
http://sabra.com/products/Classic-Hummus

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I will have to check it out! Thanks.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I love hummus!! great for dipping crackers
