Agreed, Memory! Talked to my stepson last night.....his wife is in the nursing home right now...had a pacemaker implanted a week ago....she's too weak for rehab right now....but with her in a facility, Mike is able to get out....he's her 24/7 caregiver...I worry about his mental state.....

I often see the anger between my in laws and think one day they are going to kill one another, sad that it can actually happen. Especially hard I guess if they have been unhappy for a while. I know for mine it hasn't always been bliss but a matter of sticking together because you have to....sad...

Marilyn - I would worry about his health, too. Sometimes the caretakers die from overwork! Has he looked into respite care? A day or even half a day off would be good for his physical and mental health.

They are now living next door to Kathy's cousin who does give Mike an occasional hour or so, but that's it....Kathy's hard to care for, the strokes have brought out the nastier side of her personality..Mike has it very hard right now, but better then in Maine where no family members lived.....
