Heehee, Sally. I think that is an awesome idea about bringing potluck and food for shelters.
Things that make you go "hmmmm" or Say what???!!!! Pt 5
Just because you can do it doesn't mean that you should!
True. That really goes for European men ans Speedos!
Oh Brother....just what we need more "cave" men!
Hey, I resemble that remark! Grunt, grunt.
Just got my DNA analysis and I am 1.5% Neanderthal. We all have some %.
Heehee!!
Very cool stuff. Will describe in more detail in a later post.
Old habits die hard. See the pic of Bill Clinton checking out Kelly Clarkson today?!
He's a pig
"would steer the development of the hybrid embryo on Neanderthal lines, rather than human ones." so are they saying neanderthals are not human??? then what are they??
They are a different species from H. sapiens.
I'd rather see a wooly mammoth cloned!
Would or want to carry that sucker inside me!! ^_^
They list Neanderthal as a subspecies and argue about whether they "intermingled" with homo sapiens and scientists tend to not know much of what went on that long ago, it's all about educated guesses, 1 says one thing another says something else...I say who the heck cares! Lets work on solving problems that are actually effecting the world today
Maybe Neanderthals have some ideas on that!
Also, there were Denosivans, another H. species. That was included in the Nat Geo DNA test as well.
In related news, quadruple-helix DNA has been found in humans. Was thought that only double existed. Might be linked to cancer.
Still seeems baffling about the allergies
Winter storm Jove? Did I miss something? Since when do we name winter storms?
Just this year. Weather Channel got permission to name them.
I think it's in the way they are processed here in the US, esp with the GMO crap
In Israel peanut allergies are non existent, maybe they should do some research there
Oh for pete's sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I heard that the other day.
Common sense isn't common anymore......
Saw that a few days ago too - you're way behind, Jen!
Preview of what is to come in this country.

I was just talking with a GF last night about this subject. She and her RN sister were trying to figure out what disease they could leave untreated that would cause an early death without a whole lot of pain. They didn't come up with a good answer.
As I am getting closer to retirement I deal with the "value" of my life when I am not productive. Time and time again, there is information that shows how those of us who will be using Social Security and Medicare are draining the viability of the country. I feel really guilty about that.
Memory don't feel guilty how can you be "draining the viability of the country" when you've given so much to it. You have more than earned your share.
I think of my brother's MIL who died at 104 still with her faculties...she was a lovely, caring woman to the end, & we are not better off without her......
It's crazy talk. Wasting money and effort to prolong a life that has no quality is a totally different thing. My wife sees this in the nursing home. People in vegetative state on vents for years.
And 'productive' does not equal working! If so, I have been useless for the past nine years.
Victor - you care for your family - that is productive.
By the way, Congress passed legislation a few weeks ago to outlaw too-loud commercials. Aren't we all so happy they spent time on THAT with nothing else pressing to deal with?
I thought they had done that already?
I dunno- something was being announced on the radio. Maybe it took effect.
Sherrie...how's the job coming along?
saw a lady this morning with pony tail sticking up on the very top of her head like Qbert. The same lady rearranging her blanket around her while driving
Poor soul - her car heater is probably broken! Yikes!
It was so cold last night that my furnace couldn't keep up and the warmest the house got was 63 when I cranked the furnace up to 73! I set the thermastat a little higher than usual today before I left just so it wouldn't have to put on a big rise when I get home tonight.
