Dylan opening his gift.
Everyone at the tree.
Grandpa opening gifts with the kids.
Dylan playing with Luna, she was so gentle, and just laid there letting him play!
And Grandma, getting cuddle time!
We had great temps for our Christmas, it was 75 degree's!
$$ SWEET INTERRUPTIONS $$ # 251
We had a Shepard named Sam when my oldest was little, that boy pounced all over that dog... Sam just laid there, or rolled with him, and threw in a few kisses here and there :)
LOL! There were lots of kisses here too!
Judy - sorry I worried everyone - thanks to Joyce for letting me know I'd missed the thread!!
Had a lovely Christmas morning with my best beloved.......... my DH!
in 3 hours we'll start getting guests for Christmas dinner!
Merry Christmas everyone!!
Entertaining Christmas morning with my granddaughters. Sorry no pictures....can't find the charger for my camera and so I guess next time I am out I will need to buy one. LOL was invited over for breakfast late last night (I mean late) then asked if I could bring a breakfast casserole. Something wrong here!!!
We are home now, trying to keep up with this changing weather. Still raining and much thunder in the distance. Just hope it doesn't get as bad as we are hearing it could. Atleast warm and toasty waiting for the roast to finish.
Christmas blessings to all.
Woohooo.. I'm so glad you all have had a great Christmas!
Thanks for that tip Sistah Judy. Guess Nook won't be on the list, as I can't read in bed. I'll just fall asleep. Sorry I missed your call. I had snoozed and snored the minute we got home!
All that rich food.. which I'm not used to anymore.
You had Chinese Barb??? No way!!! I wasn't there!!! Lol!!
What a treat, fun around a firepit!
Whoa, another sister being served prime rib! I sure would like to do one, but no local butcher here nor do the WM sells any.
What's for dessert Barb?
My sister sent me a video where the kids and one aunt stuffed their mouths as much marshmallows as they could, and later spit them out. What a waste!!
Betty, what brand sewing machine did you get? The Viking I have, have a 10" throat, but it's not a quilting special like Thunder's. Think hers is tad wider.
I know you'll breathe easy with a larger one. It's a matter of tight rollings for us.
Sorry it's just another day for Darlene. Hope your New Year will be more exciting.
We were feeling that way too, until Kel and I decided to stay away from family for any holiday celebrations!
That's too bad, Cindy. Seems you're served Peppered steak, which truly isn't appetizing, unless it's with green peppercorns, with a good sauce over it. Don't you just hate it when you can't get the meat done the way you asked for?
What is an Alphonse? I'm not up to date with fancy drinks.. I can sure tell you my favorite Cabernet though :D
I just love, love those pictures LK! Again, Dylan takes after his grandma!! We know Andy's the father for sure!! Lolol!!
Todd needs a Santa outfit next year!
Did you have as many guests as last year, Susan with Nami gone?
Bet the convos were endless ^_^
Marion, Marion.. Kel feels bad for your leg, but he says, you're now a human flamingo!! Shall I slap that kid for you? Be happy to!
You must have sent some bad rains this way today.
Are you sure you don't have the ark?
Alright sistahs! Those that cook prime rib, how do you cook one? I may learn new tricks, if ever I could find a roast. Might have to go to the beach for one.
My way was to turn on the oven as high as 500, cook for 30 minutes then turn it off, let the roast sit in the oven for at least a couple of hours, depending on weight.. maybe 3. I get perfect medium rare with this. Saw this on a Julia Child show in the early 80s.
Happy Belated Birthday Faye!!
This was what's left on the plate, after Kel had his share of that scrumptous Black forest cake. He made sure I had a taste :D
LK can sure bake a good cake.
Here's my plate of goose, with sauteed red cabbage and dumplings. Kel had brats..and black forest cake.. and german chocolate too. That boy was hungry!
Our beverage of choice is unsweet tea.
Our server, served us last year too!! And we were placed at the same table 3 years in a row.
This will make our 4th traditional Christmas dinner! It's a fantastic German restaurant, and goose is served only for Christmas.
There was this huge group of 60 retirees and I hope their retirement home is well guarded.
King Alfonso cocktail easy peasy....Creme and Dark Creme de Cacao
Got a gift card to Home depot...hmmmm what shall I get???? maybe I'll wait until Spring, yea that sounds good.
I got Taylor this Monster High doll set, ordered it online from meijer.com and it is a Mattel brand toy. She was so disappointed when she opened it...half of the accessories were missing. So I have emailed both companies...let's see how fast and what happens. I don't have a good feeling about this at all. Someone gave my daughter a candle Cinnamon Sugared Donuts, yup I gotta hunt for that scent for my candles
Oh yea and my hearing aid went kaput on Christmas Eve ugh. New hearing aid benefit kicks in after the 1st I only have to pay $150 co-pay where as before I was having to pay Medical $695 share of cost (NOT), plus pay the hearing aid place another $300 because Medical would only pay $1501 for a $1800 hearing aid grrrrrrrrrrrrrr I would of eneded up paying $1000 my self
I do my roast on a rotissary or like you mentioned above Jaye. Not sure how I will do it today..let me rephrase that...Kim will do it. I am under orders to stay off my leg!!! Guess I have to as she is bigger (taller)than I am.
I didn't send the rain Jaye, thought you sent it to us. Sun is out but the temps are dropping. Winds are still high so not sure what is going on with this.
Ah but it sounds like a very goods miserable Joyce.
I had a lovely Christmas - Bob & I enjoyed our Christmas morning together.
Most of the friends came for dinner (5pm). Guess one pulled out at the last moment, cuz Bob went to pick her up and she wasn't there...... she would have been new to our group, so maybe she was shy....
BUT the rest of our friends are regulars, and they said they enjoyed the evening! One new person (Glaide) was visiting Edmonton, and returned in time to eat dinner 1 hour late, but stayed for most of the evening. She brought her beagle Sophie, and Sophie is a sweetheart!
Sorry I didn't take any pictures. I was running around getting dinner for Glaide when she arrived.....
We had a total (with us) of 8 people at the dining table this year.
Jaye - at this point I'm so annoyed about Nami - she never connects with us..... I've emailed her DH and asked him, but haven't heard from him since August, and her since July.......... I've tried to get them to send me banking info so I could forward their $650 to them (I sold a bunch of Nami's stuff and have the $$), but they obviously don't care. I've had some worrying thoughts re: Nami's well-being, and don't know her DH that well to KNOW that she's ok....... Either they're not where they said they were moving to, or she........ is no longer............ I have no idea! He said he would send an email with instructions on where to send the $$ but he's not answering his emails either, and my email was changed in Oct. I sent them an email letting them know, but they never responded.
It is distressing...........
Cindy, I got one of the dolls for my Granddaughter, and pieces were also missing from it. I got mine from amazon.com. Pretty sad they all arrived missing parts!
Well, this old lady woke up this morning with a bad head cold, and chest congestion. I have been taking mucinex, and it is starting to work a bit. Lots of hot lemon or peppermint tea for the cough.
LK - also have ginger tea! It's really good for clearing sinuses!
Oh, and use the Netti Pot! It's a sinus cleanse and I found it really helped me get over my head cold quickly!!!! Buy it at any pharmacists or druggist.
i cooked mine in my new ninja 3-in-1 cooker santa got me
Cindy - sorry your hearing aid's kaput! Will you be getting a new one before the New Year, or wait and get the discount from health care?
I learned this beautiful poem today:
T’was 11 days before Christmas
T'was 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate.
Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
They could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
They were filled with such joy;
They didn't know what to say.
They remembered nothing of what
had happened earlier that day.
“Where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
“This is heaven" declared a small boy.
"We're spending Christmas at God's house”.
When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their Savior. The children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
Then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
And in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring.
The children all flew into the arms of their King.
And as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face.
And as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad."
Then He looked down on earth, the world far below.
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe,
He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
“Let My power and presence re-enter this land!
May this country be delivered from the hands of fools.
I’m taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools! “
Then He and the children stood up without a sound.
“Come now my children let me show you around."
Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran.
All displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
“In the midst of this darkness,” I AM STILL THE LIGHT."
This was written by a lady in PA and really packs a message to help us all deal with the tragedy in Newtown. God bless you, your children and our land.
lol Savannah & Lucy lol
LOL so funny! That's a "keeper" lol
Afternoon everyone.
Had a busy morning, cleaning up the greenhouse as the leaks were bad. Expecting more storms this weekend, my suggestion of putting a tarp, temporarily over the roof, fell on deaf ears.
What's up Sistahs?
Betty and Thunder, the OTTlite is now more than 1/2 off at Joann's!! Kel promised me one!
Pegi.. hope you survive the Christmas feast sistah. Haven't seen you around.
Sorry to read you're next to have a head cold, LK. Hope that go away soon. Yes, ginger tea will open your sinuses. And if you use the Neti pot, use bottled water!
Sis Kathy, I will have to look up that Ninja cooker. Sounds efficient! Bet it can roast a big turkey in there.
Susan, crazy people with guns make gun ownership a sin!! Immediately after that tragedy, there are more killings! I will always own one for protection. It's assault weapons that need to be banned.
Wow Cindy!! That much for hearing aid? My ex used 2 and still can't hear!
Seems that online site is a scam, and should be reported.
LK, did you report your disappointment on the product?
Marion, listen to Kim. Just nod your head to everything she instructs! Sargeant Kim, you need to use that whip if she misbehaved!! Will you be spending New Year at home Marion? Hope so.. got to rest that leg lady!
Lucy is your daughter with a tail, Sue!!! That;s what I say about Lola! How cute is that? She's the perfect playmate for Savannah.. and let Austin have fun with the goats.
By the way, Cookie.. Sue.. hope the blizzard isn't too menacing.
Barb, are you expecting a blizzard too? Pray not!
Found something inspiring for some (err.. that means me)!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLZxJZ70MQ4
Will be spending New Years down south with mom if plans all fall into place. Hopefully we will be able to meet up with Betty in Ft. Myers...all contingent on 1. my knee; 2. sister's attitude 3. Betty being available. LOL
I am trying really hard to do what I should as the pain is rough at times. Now had I been a football player I would have seen the doctor by now!!:-)
lol don't be taking up football now!! lol
What are you taking for the pain?
Hoping we can meet up as well..you let me know what day and I'm sure I can meet you..
Oh please, let nothing hinders your plans to meet up with Betty, Marion!!!!
Susan I am on Vicodin for the pain. Don't have to use it every day but then others I have to take it 2X daily....depends on how much I have been able to stay off of the leg.
I've heard of Vicodin and that it's pretty strong...... glad it's working for you!
There are varying dosages and I don't have one of the very large one...just enough to really take the edge off and make things bearable.
good!!
Good Morning!!
Oh,, Sistah, so much to tell but I am having difficulties with all the techy devises lately!! Makes for post most frustrating.
Yesterday made a very long post,...
and lost it.
So we are all good and today is to be an EXCELLENT day...It's Closing on the Huber house! DH and I went and did Our final walk through...He was adorable, as he talked of each room. Then the other decent thing is Jacob got his drivers Licsence!! omg, cant spell for anything day!! lol. So, I may never leave the house again! He just took off for Wrestling...I am much more calm with his driving then with his sisters...lol, if I hear any ambulances though I might start calling cell phone.
So trying this again...Sistah Jaye, Been trying to call you, but you havent picked up, so I hope your just busy and everything is all good!
Marion, wow so glad you got to see the Play! I heard it was excellent. OOOh, maybe you could sit in the back seat with your sore knee outstretched and an ice pack, so the swelling goes away...I know you must be missing mom.
Sue, love the pics of the kids!! been thinking about you lots...
well this curseor keeps jumping to various places...typing and correcting now I am just aggrevated, so know i am thinking of you all.
have a wonderful, warm, dry day!! and Be safe if your traveling.
So tell us Marion, how's the movie?? Was the popcorn good? Bet that leg co-operates while you're watching!
You have some good rest now, Sistah Judy, with Jacob able to drive LEGALLY!!
It was so good to laugh with you, and yes, extending my congrats to Steve and you on the Huber house. Wish I could see the landscape you've done.
Sue, there are 12 days of Christmas!!! Gal, you're too early to put the decorations down!!
I know.. here in America.. the tree comes down right after Christmas.
Got ham cooking in the oven today. Turnips to go with it. Kel will be eating the meat, and me the greens.
Must return to healthy eating so I'll be regular again!! Lol!!
yaaaaaaaaaaay - Huber house closing!! No wonder you don't want to leave it, Judy!!!!!
Sue - I agree - Much, much, much too early to de-decorate your home! I know, I know......you're a "cleaner" and it does look less cluttered with everything down, but ..... it's so festive with everything UP! Jaye - trees don't come down right after Christmas.... some people leave it up until the end of January, and some just redecorate for the new seasons (that's going a bit TOO far........)
Yum..... ham & turnips..... soon we'll be celebrating Robbie Burns Day and having haggis & turnips (neeps in Gaelic).and potatoes (tatties in Gaelic).
I should go to my other room's blog and update my Robbie Burns thread...... maybe do another article! Anniversary of his birthday is Jan 25, and we're having our church dinner in celebration on Jan 26th (easier to do on a Saturday, with working folks volunteering!)
Morning Ladies,
I had sent a message to meijer.com where I ordered the doll from. They told me to send it back and they will send another one. But what if it's missing parts too??? Then I emailed Mattel, the emailed me back, said sorry we don't replace missing parts, but here is a $32 voucher, to get another one it is being mailed should have it with in 14 days. Only thing I'm worried about is if meijer gets it back and says well it is not packaged right, sorry. So we'll see.
Nope, no haggis for me, unless you're the one that cook it, Susan!!
When I was doing Christmas decors.. I clear all but one on the 11th day.
Even these cute pets agree there are 12 Christmas days.. except for Jupiter!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obGjx8Hry3M
Hope Meijer treats you right this time, Cindy!
Am noting that company name.
Judy....... what's this a test for - an old thread? And don't put the .... in front, or it isn't clickable... I copy/pasted the link, and it's an old thread from July/August 2012
ok lets try this again.
.
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1272883/
Hmm, not sure cause not in blue!!
Anyway, Sue yes it is an old thread. Was trying to share with Sistah Jaye my Landscape work at the Huber house.
LOL, now that you have high speed Sistah, you could go back in time anywhere you want in DG...I love this, its like reading a journal.
Cant wait for the new computer!!! Soon, very soon.
Always fantastic to laugh and chat with you too Sistah. .
ROFLOL, Sue, I'm still putting decorations UP!! And Usually I put everything away Jan 2..but think I'll do as slow as it comes out!!
Then the tree gets placed on the deck until whenever.
Judy, you must be in heaven with the closing of the huber house! Congrats!
Cindy, glad to hear you got a voucher. I am still waiting to hear from the company!
i started decorating back in Nov. starting with jessica's garden. Tree been up since day after thanksgiving. so i m so burnt out on christmas LOL The tree was getting on my last nerve LOL
did i tell you we got goats ? oh yes i did. They broke the gate and i spent all morning fixing it. I had a serious talk with them ! " bad goats "
