Yes I'm back!! I think the dollar sign is appropiate, as it's costing me big bucks to get back home!! Lol!!

I just love these pics here. The first for a nice quick floral display with your house numbers on the pots... don't remember where the second one came from, but it's an inspiration for a small water feature come spring.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning...

How wonderful for you to have high speed' you will be spending all your un-busy days surfing the web..Missouri quilts here you come

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

12.12 p.m on 12.12.12 !! That's awesome to have a wedding!
LK, send my best regards to Mr. and Mrs. Grunow!

Barb, Betty, I am catching up with you!! Talk about no more playing solitaires while waiting for a page to upload.
I can click on any videos and get instant streaming!!
As for Missouri quilts, Betty, I viewed only one before high speed. And yes you are so right, there will be more! Lolol!! I am so looking forward to Fons and Porter instructional videos.

Now I can "skype" with my family overseas!!! Oh.. I can also be a "Nook" savvy gal like Pegi.
And oh yes.. that IPad thingy is now a possibility.
See.. how many dreams can be fulfilled with high speed!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Wow! High speed internet...good for you.

LOL about your comments about Urban.....sometimes the truth does hurt, now doesn't it? BTW, what has happened to Tebow lately. Oh I keep forgetting, the same as other great standouts (with exception of Emmit Smith) from UF.....lots of hype no delivery. Sorry Gators.

We are having our second day of a cold steady rain. Won't complain as it is relief with the water bill this month. Just making it dangerous for me to go outside as things are so slippery!!! Don't dare take another fall.

LK, congrats to your son and soon to be new DIL. Sure won't forget the date nor time.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Good Morning Ladies,
Jaye girl YOU have been missed!!!

Trying to get things done around the house before surgery tomorrow. Have to get up at 4:30 to be to hospital by 6:15 for surgery at 8:10 ugh

The weather here is so crazy my poor flowers are confused, lol. My Voo Doo Lily is coming up already. It is not suppose to come up until at least March. And I just spotted a hummer while outside taking more pix of Brug. Oh and I noticed buds on the other Brug, lol. Just hope it doesn't freeze anythime soon.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

welcome back jaye, i missed you

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sistahs, we might have to pick up a collection of crutches for Marion!! Kidding dear lady. Please be careful, and stay off that bad knee. We want you at 100 percent next year, hmm..maybe at 80% after that bottle of Bailey's has been passed around!
Ex has a cutlass... does Kim still need it?

Cindy, if you're doing both wrists at the same time, maybe that would be best for you. Especially when Doug is around to help you. My ex had both done at one time, and he healed fast.
Sending prayers for your surgery and don't you worry too much about getting back online. Leave the dogs to Doug too!

(((Sis Kathy))), ain't it terrible that Notre Dame is in the BCS finals? I was sure hoping for Oregon. They're a much better team.

I'm going crazy listening and downloading videos with this high speed net!! My FB is littered with them!
Here's one.
Tolerate the ad, Il Divo is worth it.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

OOOOOHHHH NO Jaye, I am only having my left hand done for arthritis and carpel tunnel. Had the right one done 2 years ago.

Jaye, what kind of high speed service did you get? Cable or satelite? If you got satelite be very careful of data usage. If you go over it will either slow you down or charge you extra. That is what happened with me when I had Wildblue, Before I moved in with Doug we would turn our web cams on and boy oh boy did mine ever slooooooooooooowwww down. Couldn't figure out what the heck was happening. Also found out satelite is not as fast as cable and also have to deal with storm issues, but YES it is better than dial-up

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

JAYE !!!! so good to see you back home with us!!!! can not express how much I missed you!!!

I recommend Missouri quilts, fons and porter, sewing with nancy!! hurrah for high speed ^_^

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cindy, I have cable! Yes I'm aware of the restricted usage with satellite.. can't have that with me always exploring!
It was a blessing in disguise when I was having problems with the pc and the dial up service. By the time the pc was fixed, along came the opporturnity to switch to a better phone service. All thanks to the prison facility which is a 1/4 mile away.
So, we got the bundled service, with Direct TV, land phone and internet. If I were to have no other recourse, I will still stick to dial up. Am enjoying this so much!! Glad we waited all this while.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Yayyyy Thunder, I had completely forgotten about Nancy Zimmerman!!! Then there's Alex Anderson too, right?
Nothing like home!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yaaaaaaaaay Jaye's back!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

LOL no crutches please, just Baileys!!! Doctor discussed about giving me crutches to keep weight (way to much now) off the leg and knee but said they would probably cause more pain than good. So told my son who insisted on going with me that just staying off the leg would be best. Like that is going to happen this time of year! Ha!!!

Yikes my brain on pain killers....well it sounded good anyways.

hahahaha too right, Marion - you're one busy lady over "the season" lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

just had to smile, got my nancy's notions dream book last night and am sitting here ooogling some of the fabrics/tools and patterns..already thinking of next christmas...slap me crazy!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Ain't slapping you Betty!! You got the kind of vigor none has here, and why stop a good thing?
I haven't even navigate my way to the sewing tubes! I'm now @ # 15 Christmas vid!!
Waiting for the bank balance to look decent again, cause I know when I hit a sewing vid., I'd be itching to buy something! Lol!

Morning sistahs.
Kel woke up with a bad cold. Am drinking enough pickle juice trying not to get anything from him :(

Marion, if you could borrow a wheelchair, that will be the best for you. I promise not to be around if you're using it.

Sending you and Cindy healing thoughts for sure!

LK, any pictures from the wedding?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Hope Kel gets to feeling better soon and please, take care you don't get sick Jaye.

Doing okay so far today. Sleep very late...must have been all the Baileys I had on FB. LOL

Trying to finish up some last minute things to take to mom but may not succeed. Still hurts to press the sewing pedal. Knee bar just is totally out of the question.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like you messed up your knee pretty good!

A few pictures I took from my trip. Dylan is getting so big, almost 9 months old already! He is learning how to clap his hands!

And Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Grunow! Very casual wedding. She wore her "pinup" dress, Andy wore his work clothes! pretty classy guy!

Thumbnail by taters55 Thumbnail by taters55 Thumbnail by taters55
(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Very nice pictures LK and boy, does Andy look like you through the eye!! Where has the time gone...Dylan can't be that big already. Yikes!

Not sure about the knee as I am still dealing with inflammation as well as a possible tear.......MRI should gives us some ideas. I do know when I fell down the stairs I did twist to keep from hitting on my face and the knee could have been injured them. Note to self: don't care such a huge load of laundry and not use hand rails. There for a reason :-).

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like you may have torn the knee cap?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Look at Dylan! He sure is growing up fast! What did they feed that boy?
Thanks for sharing LK. Heather looks so happy, and Andrew can now claim her on his taxes!!

Marion, what I'm about to post next, don't do as I ask.
Your leg, my dear.. unless you're sitting at a window indoors with binoculars. And yes, hand railings aren't just for decoration.

Geminid meteor showers supposed to be happening tonight til dawn! I'll be watching for them if it's not too cold!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Jaye, are you telling me they aren't just decorations or a place to hang something we intend to take either upstairs or downstairs? Bummer to think I have been misusing them for so long!!!

LK, that was mentioned but I am trying to not think (not really a problem for me) about those possibilities just yet.

I didn't realize there was a meteor shower tonight......sorry I just might be asleep. However, bed is near a window so if I am awake...wait! to many trees....okay have to think of another plan.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! T.G.I.F!

Coffee is ready! Who has the sweet rolls today?

Cindy, hope your doing OK today, and not in too much pain from surgery!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just made chelsy buns LindaKay, can you smell them? will that take away hunger pains..want to eat some now while they are hot but if I start there won't be any left and I won't have a proper lunch.

Drats, top was not on properly on the jar of pickles, moved the eggs and down went the jar..had to clean the refrigerator..few choice words but now it's one less thing I need to do before heading to Florida next week.shhhissss threw out 3/4 of the food and jars..need to do groceries when I get back for sure.

On the cold side today but I'm sitting on the chesterfield, doing binding on a table runner i put together yesterday at work, kitties are next to me, orrr'ing away..hate to move as its just too relaxing.

Ohhh ups at the door!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Hope there is still coffee and I want a bun Betty. LOL about the jar....are we having the same type of week? I accidentally moved something on the counter last night and a bowl with 6 eggs in it went flying. Scrambled eggs without really trying.

It is still in the 40s here and a funny mist coming down. More like heavy fog feel than rain but it isn't foggy. I still am enjoying this weather. Walked out to get the paper this morning and had to face a really hard truth that I will not be able to go to the "Victorian Christmas" in Thomasville, GA tonight. What a wonderful experience it is but the crowds and my inability to get around just won't mix. Bah humbug!!

Oh my, it won't be long and hopefully we will be able to met Betty!! Gonna give it one heck of a good attempt.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Buns sound good Betty, thanks!
Sorry to hear your knee is bothering you that much, you can't go and enjoy that concert! get some rest, and hope it is feeling better soon.

Sad news on the tv right now, someone went into an elementary school in Connecticut, and killed 18 students and 6 adults! So sad!

http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artikkel?NoCache=1&Dato=20121214&Kategori=NEWS&Lopenr=312140078&Ref=AR&nocache=1

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

That news is horrible. I am sorry but teachers just aren't paid enough to put their lives in jeopardy for this type situation...well no one is for that matter. Kim was telling me last night a student "threatened" her yesterday. Not sure what has been done but it is not an offense her school system takes lightly. Funny thing, it wasn't even her regular student, she was watching a class for another teacher and found 4 boys on an inappropriate website (they managed to break through the system to access). One didn't respond when told to shut it off so after 4 attempts she reached over to turn the computer off and accidentally touched his hand. He jumped up and told her she would "regret" the day she touched him!!! Gone within 5 minutes but what happened she didn't know.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

WOW, that is so dangerous, hope they send him to jail for a long time!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Never had Chelsea buns, Betty.. is it as good as your butter tarts? What am I thinking!! They must be good as you're the baker!
Maybe one day, LK, Marion and I can make a group trip to your place Betty. Make a stop at Sue's first.. head to Cookie's... then to Janice before final stop at your place.
Sis Kathy said she won't cross the border.

That's so sad LK. I was reading that online and I know there'll be a cry for gun control. IT's not guns that kill.. people pulled the trigger. I just can't understand what that man was thinking.
Here I am about to 'upgrade' my gun and this is happening.

Marion, I hope that kid is removed from the school. Kids scream "abuse" so readily and without justification most of the time. Poor Kim. Yep, a personal threat shouldn't be treated lightly. Hope the principal reports that to the police.

Been having diarrhea... might be a stomach flu.. but didn't catch Kel's cold :(
Caught only ONE meteor last night!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear your not feeling well Jaye! Take it easy on the spicy foods today!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

It was baked ham yesterday, and today, just some rice porridge with bits of ham, LK.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is good!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

He was taken out of school is all she know so far. Yes, it is taken very seriously where she teaches!!! Other kids involved came to her class to apologize for the way they acted and for the abuse this one kid came for with verbally. So there are still some out there with some good traits.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I have some good news about Bob - he starts his new, permanent job Monday!! He interviewed for it yesterday, and the guy got back to the agency Bob's working with.and said they want him to start carpentry, which is an inside job.
AND - my job has been extended until the end of January. I'm thrilled.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is great news Susan! Congrats!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Marion, I think behavior issue begins at home. I presume that student's parents never taught him respect for others. Good that the good students spoke up.
That's what I see what's wrong with this type of kids, unless they're clinically diagnosed as insane!

Happy for you and Bob, Susan! It will be a wonderful Christmas for sure. Indoors mean work in all weather!!

Stomach's a little better. Kel didn't get his Moroccan food. I'm sticking to my sports drinks and some bread and butter pickles.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thanks LK & Jaye!!! Yes, too true, Jaye - now he can work inside, and not only that.... he's welcome to join their apprenticeship carpentry course, and can earn his "ticket" and get more $$. He's already starting at a higher wage than they usually start because he's been doing construction for years and knows a lot of the stuff plus he's a perfectionist at it (and a darn nice guy!!).
