If I was a millionaire and could do it....I still would NOT give a child a $900 phone. First of all, it puts them in danger for bullies or others to steal it.....and they don't need those types of capabilities on the phones that can get them in trouble down the line. My daughter is 22 and going through so much with her basic verizon phone contract, paying $120 a month for service, on top of what the phone cost.....and can't get out of 2 year contract without paying $600 additional. It just is a huge money market.

We use pay as you go phones, $25 a month, unlimited texting and 250 minutes calling...which I rarely use.

yep, I totally agree, he's not the biggest of boys so could easily be bullied..they aren't doing him any favors..I also use pay as you go and never ever use up the $10 monthly usage fee..usually make 1 or 2 calls a month and forget to purchase card and lose my minutes

Suzanne is ordering honey garlic chicken wings and veggies, I'll go pick them up and make 1 quick stop at fabric store..would have had the dresden plate done had I not ran out of beige fabric for the circles..

Tony and I have been doing prep work so the property will be secure while I am gone. Neighbor Dana will be here, too. I watch their place while they are gone for the summer so she will watch out for me.

I've been cleaning. I'm having Christmas mood swings (yes, Betty, my body is telling me something) But my energy is improving as my knee is so much better. It's been a long haul between knee pain and other issues. There is so much dust here that cleaning could be done constantly and still need to be done. I am considering a really expensive vacuumn cleaner recommended by Consumer Reports. As I get stuff organized and put away it would be nice to be able to clean up dust and pet hair efficiently.

Does vinegar remove the smell of pet urine and discourage them from repeeing on the object? I had two quilts peed on last night. Also saw a mouse run across my sewing table and evidence of more mice here and there. No wonder I didn't sleep much!! Tony set traps in the sewing room and will keep them going while I'm gone and it's easy to shut the dogs out of the room where traps are.

I'm hoping to stay awake until evening and then sleep well. Meanwhile I continue cleaning as I'm already not in a real good mood.

Chicken sounds good and I have some BBQ wings in the freezer.

Katie, I use vinegar all the time for pet stains. A "spot" cleaner , which is like Natures Miracle, is a combination of peroxide, dawn soap and vinegar. Works great on carpets too! Careful using the peroxide on anything dark as it can bleach it a bit. BUT I use a cup of vinegar in the wash with something that was "hit".

yes, when someone pee'd in my craft bag I washed the articles and they seem to be 'smell of urine' free

noticed when I was doing the dresden plate quilt top yesterday that the pee may have run and touched a wee corner soooo once it's quilted I shall wash it and hope for the best.

Katie, how long are you planning to be gone?

Don't know when I'm going or how long I'll be gone. Maybe leave Wednesday and be back in about two weeks. I've ordered a bunch of stuff on line and a lot depends on what arrives when. I usually stock up on books at Goodwill and veg out. I also hope to see my regular doctor.
