Ahhh wine bottle holder in shape of kittie, how adorable..haven't seen one of them!! Those kitties are up to no good, can see that..

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

They're little stinkers! Can't help but love them though!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Should have taken photo of Missy, brought back lunch. She sat on coffee table just begging for some of it..they know how to get to your heart strings ..of course I shared! Lol

Losing energy, someone please kick me off the couch, if I sit much longer might as well call it an end to my productivity

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Love that cat wine holder Joyce! So cute!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Marion, tell Kim to go to you tube, lots of how to crochet there.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh Joyce, double reason to come...oyster dressing and chocolate wine!!! I would love nothing better than to come but alas my travels have been limited still. It is a continuous up and down with mom.

Love the kitties!!! Kim's cat has this thing for pipe cleaners and neither of us can figure out where she is getting them.

LK, thanks I will tell her. I wish she would get busy making some jewelry but she is more interested in crocheting for the moment. Go figure!!

Verona, ON

Excellent suggestion LK. I hadn't thought of that. I haven't crocheted in over 30 years and wanted to get back at it.I figure my fingers will lead the way once I get started. Actually I had bought wool last year thinking I could crochet an afghan while I waited for Santa Warren at the Cancer Centre. For the most part the appointments were on time so I never got started. Now seems like a great time to start. Loved your afghan!! You are one talented lady.

LK am I remembering correctly that you and Troy keep your tree outside? Initially I was thinking my goodness there would be nothing left of your tree by Christmas with you getting it this early.

Betty, wise lady not mentioning to your mam about your upcoming trip. Your headache does not need any more encouragement.

How are you feeling now Debbie? In the middle of your turkey dinner?

Oh my Katie, I would have been laughing so hard, even if there was a mess to clean up. Great news on your watermelon blooming!

Little bit of snow here but the sun is shining brightly now. Its cold out there though.

Will be there with you and Norm tomorrow Barb and on Wed when he has his next chemo.Diesel wants to come - the 2 of you up to having a rowdy pup there?

Mary I am still chuckling about the image of you cleaning in your Mickey Mouse ears. I started to laugh right out loud when I was vacuuming this morning at the though. Diesel and Quill looked at me like I had 2 heads.

mulege, Mexico

Love the afgh an. And the kitty wine holder which I would make into a hummingbird feeder.

The dogs' mess was mostly on the patio and it was almost as funny as when they decorated for Christmas by opening and scattering a very large bag of perlite. That was all over my yard and too funny to be upsetting.

My person in Costa Rica who is also involved in increasing the number of food plants that are grown in his locale as well as developing an electric car has sent me a list of new plants for which he can provide seeds or cuttings. Very exciting. We gardeners are a strange bunch aren't we?

hugs, katie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh Katie, I can just see that oerlote all over the yard!
Yes Dianne, Todd and I put our tree on the pack patio. Makes the mess a lot easier to sweep up!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Break time, I'll weigh double my weight if I keep eating every time I take a break..just thought that I had best put the roast I bought yesterday in the freezer, just kow I'll not cook it and don't want it to go to waste. Now see, if we lived closer I'd be at your doors looking for a meal..aren't you all lucky we are Not.

Still snowing , Dianne think it's heading your way! Just knew if I told mom she would want to come and I don't have the energy right now..promised after New Years.

Katie, your kind of gardening is fascinating..does the gmt have regulations as to what you can import and grow?? Lordy, we can't even cross over to the states with any fruit.

Just looked out, no sign of leaves not raked, looks nice and clean..best I get some energy come sprinfpg as I will certainly need it.

Verona, ON

Oh Betty worked so hard at raking up the leaves and Sandy just rearranged them all so I had to do it again. I must say second time around I wasn't as thorough or as fussy as the first time. I figure Dave the snow plow guy will take care of any on the lane and drive now.

Chuckled at you putting the roast away Betty. I bought some half price beef ribs yesterday fully intending to make a dish for the crock pot. Yep still sitting in the fridge, better brown them tonight or freeze them as like you I don't want to waste them. Thought I would make one of Santa Warren's favourite dishes and that way I can freeze up portions to eat later. Maybe that will help curb my bread eating if I have real food to munch on. Going tomorrow to get mini watermelons and large cantaloupes at Foodland - 2 for $5.00 which is a good price for the village. Love melons of any kind - wish I could grow them but never have any luck.

Diesel, Quill and I were just out for a ramble - had a wonderful time. Saw 2 deer and Diesel actually came back when I called him.

Judy - baby still there or are you too exhausted after having the baby stay to move?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Dianne - what Will you do with Diesel when visiting Barb & Norm? lol Nice that he's "minding" when you call!
Betty - likely a good idea you didn't mention the trip to your mom. Yummmmm - roast beef!!
Katie - how're you feeling? Yes, we're a strange bunch. Makes me wanna sing "I got a lovely bunch of coconuts..." lol
I love Siamese cats - I've had them before (Chocolate point), and found them very loving and gentle.

No snow here - sunshine and chilly though - minus 2 celcius.......
have lots of cookies from Bake Sale at the Church yesterday
Well, tomorrow 1st day on the job...... it'll go fine, I'm sure - 1st days always do

mulege, Mexico

I've spent most of the day washing dishes and doing laundry. If I can get the dogs' dinner put together and out for them I'm going to collapse in front of the TV.

Don't know if I will hit the road tomorrow or later in the week. No big hurry. I just bought an accuqilt on ebay and it will be in Ca. with other packages including a 25 lb box of candy for Christmas.

This time of year is weird for me. Also for Tony. The first few years I knew him he was sick every Christmas, sometimes real sick. I think it was in part due to being on a survival income for many years and not being able to do much for his kids. That changed with me and it's been good for all of us. I reminded him after Thanksgiving that we don't get overly ambitious this time of year. We don't want to be sick/depressed or anything else unpleasant. Dana brought me lots of stuffed animals so I'll be set to do my Christmas rounds and that's what's most important for me.

I miss having kittens. Jennybear and Max play a lot and they are fun to watch as Max is so short he can literally stand under Jenny. The have great mock fights.

Dinner time.

hugs, katie

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

hugs to you, katie, for all you've done and are doing for Tony.
Sounds like you have a simpatico relationship, you two

Lyndonville, NY

Diesel & Quills "Aunt Debbie" will go take care of him so she can travel! lol

Still not feeling better. Might be nerves, you know I don't like to travel....and I really do NOT want to go on this trip. DH is insistent, and I know I need to see
them, but my mind is not at peace about it.

This turkey turned out better than the other one, as did the stuffing. I ended up doing a full meal...again!

We have had snow off and on all day, just a dusting on the ground. Will see what the morning brings!

Hugs,
Debbie Here is my poor baby grandkitty.....DD got this from the $$ bin at Target.

Just about to call it a night..

Debbie, if in your gutt you don't feel right about going on this trip perhaps you shouldn't..sometimes our bodies exude warning signs and that's just what your body is doing..those kitties are too adorable.

Dianne, didn't know you were planning a trip to Norm and Barb's, did I not properly read a thread??? Yep, Auntie Debbie would be a great sitter, likely she'd want to take them home with her when she left though. Hard cooking for one, I'm so used to cooking for great numbers when I do cook that I don't know how to do it for one..besides, picking up something or eating at restaurant lunch hours saves time for me to do things I enjoy doing...lol

Good luck tomorrow Susan, am sure you will be posting tomorrow night when you get home as to the great day you had.

Katie, I have an accuquilt and love it and yet LindaKay has one and doesn't like it.

Understand another company sells dies to be used with paper/fabric and an adapter can be purchased to fit on the accuquilt so you don't need another major machine..embosses, cuts etc. Maybe after Christmas I'll check to see what all it does.

Christmas is a hard time for many Katie and you are right, likely worried about finances causes health issues for Tony..lucky you have each other..wish I could find me a Tony.. So you are going to venture to USA...what a long drive for you..has Tony ever gone with you to help with driving?

Well, really pushed myself today.. got all the presents that were in closets out and now under the tree, cut more wood pieces, was tired and thought tomorrow is another day, I'll stain them tomorrow night but then I thought, if I pushed myself and got it done that leave tomorrow night for other things so stained all the pieces that needed to be stained.

Would it be right for me to hope for a 'snow day' tomorrow????

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All ;

Yes Betty you need a "Snow Day" LOL had one myself in deed if not in weather.... RE; time off... no I didn't even schedule 12/24 or 12/26 off for Christmas so working right through in a way... Wish you did live closer... cooked that ham and still SO much left... good thing Ham Freezes...

LK That afghan is so pretty you did good !
Marion would think you'd have oyster dressing living so near appalach although Dad has mentioned a shortage this year.... I've only had it a few times growing up. I really miss stuffing these Cajuns only make dirty rice...

we're still working on this with Belle....
Katie - maybe you can plan a plant swap with those interested ! I'm going to TRY to get this package out to you tomorrow....
Oh Deb... I was so hoping you could enjoy this trip... seeing how you miss Florida I suppose just not under these circumstances. I'm with Betty maybe post pone until you can work it out...
Girls did WHAT to the Kitty ! LOL.... had to fuss at mine they drew eyebrows on Belle once.... Too humiliating

Well I'll pop back. Day off tomorrow but hope to get shopping done...
Betty I think Dianne will be with Barb and Norm tomorrow as we all will be with them tomorrow....

(HUGS) Barb and Norm...

Love,
Mary

Victoria Harbour, ON

Mary, yes you are right, Norm's procedure is tomorrow..
Likely Barb and Norm will leave early, might have to get up a little earlier in order to fit us all in their vehicle, I've dibs on front seat.. Sending prayers

How come you didn't book time off?? Won't you have Monday and Tuesday , christmas day, then Thursday, Boxing Day..

Drats and I'm sure it's Missy, could smell kittie pee, drats and more drats, on one of the craft tables, cleaned it up, washed the area with vinegar..stewed about that then I realized the litter box is in the cutting room where I've been working all day , box filled with sawdust, no wonder she wouldn't go in there...now all cleaned, fresh litter, here is hoping it solves that problem

Said I was going to bed didn't I, best I do that

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

God bless you all my friends. We thank you so much for your warm wishes and kind thoughts. Norm says Diesel can come to play and that Betty can sit wherever she would like - Barb says not on Norm's lap!!!!! I'll post tomorrow night after I open a box from the Santa Warren swap!!!!!

Linden, TN(Zone 7a)

Hey y'all.. sorry I haven't been around the past little bit... mercy.. I have been busy plus my dang Sciatica is kicking up a storm... had surgery in Sept. to alleviate it, but that must made it worse.. GRRRRR
We had a great thanksgiving and now I am definitely going on a diet... I had my picture done and omg.. I am fat as a wart hawg.. so tomorrow am.. I start to lose it... no more sugary or carby stuff for me.. not for a long long time..

Today we got up early and had coffee and breakfast before going to church.. The service was so great.. and the music so worshipful... and when we got home ... the neighbor and his cousin were processing deer in our garage.. it is clean and set up for it.. they had 5 to do today.. wow.. but we declined any of it for ourselves.. as it hadn't been field dressed.. and they set up overnight.. it was really cold, but I won't touch one that isn't dressed out immediately... ugh.. yuk..

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Debbie - That grandkitty sweater - how cute!!
I've never put a sweater on any of my furbabies........

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - you have all the Christmas pressies wrapped and under the tree????? You little over-achiever, you..........
I'd be worried that the furries would open the pressies..... temptation, doncha know?!

I have my two Christmas pressies ready to package - one for Santa Warren's swap, and one for the other room's swap. I didn't think Christmas would be so quick, but it's one month from today..... yikes!

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello All ;

I know Betty I fussed at myself but thought the company would be off 12/24 or 12/26 didn't realize they are OPEN... so working both days.... took 12/27 off Why? I don't know... it is just all messed up.

Anyway Missy must be fussy about her litter box....

BARB ! PLEASE PLEASE please if for any reason you do not feel like opening the box or posting tomorrow... please put it off till later.... really I mean that ! "Hands on Hips" as Betty says...... LOL

Welcome Carolyn ! I saw on FB a picture that said "Saturday after Thanksgiving .... set the scales back 10 pounds" LOL thought that was cute.....

Lyndonville, NY

The grand kitties are hysterical, this is their "matching jackets". You have to check the dollar bin when you first walk in Target. LOL

I can't cancel the trip, non-refundable tickets. I do have travel insurance, but it is for bad weather etc....or if I get VERY ill. BUT right now I have
several people I would disappoint and I don't want to do that. (Aunt, Cousin, several friends...and brother) I think it is traveling in winter....snow and all that....that scares me.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

(((((Debbie)))))) Hugs atcha girl!! It's gonna be juuuu-ust fine! Just look at all the positives of the trip, and you'll be through it in no time!

Lyndonville, NY

Ooops I forgot the picture!!!

Got all excited about riding along with Barb and Norm tomorrow....I will bring Timmy Ho's!!!

Will be riding with you along the way also!

Baton Rouge, LA

Oh Deb... They are SO CUTE ! well deep breaths girl... you'll be fine... you're flying into sunny Florida.... most likely 70 degrees or more....

Online looking for a School bus or gigantic LIMO to bring Barb and Norm along with all of us tomorrow... (HUGS)

Yes Deb... please bring the Timmies ! LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

morning

here we are Lord, gathered in numbers to pray that all goes well for Norm today!

Know miracles are within your realm , waiting for Norm's

Need to clean craft room somewhat, gab when I get to work..

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning my wonderful friends. Norm has gone back to bed as he can't eat anything!!!!! We don't even need to be to the hospital until 12:45pm and he can't have any food!!! It's going to be a LONG day!!!! We won't be leaving here until 11am. It takes about an hour and twenty minutes to get there. This is day surgery (out the same day) so I'm thinking it will most likely be around seven to eight tonight before we get home. I WILL post if I can....
Oh Deb I would so love a Timmies right about now!!! I sure wish they would come to NH!!! They are in New York and in Maine but not here yet. I must ask Norm to have his coworker in Maine get some for me....They do relax me that's for sure.
Hoping my swap buddy gets her box today. It was mailed priority and they said Monday delivery......
Off to have my shower before Norm or his sister are awake. Have a good day everyone and again, thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. I love you all......Barb

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

((((Norm, Barb))))

Verona, ON

LOL Betty! I would love to be with Barb and Norm today except I don't thik they needed the added stress of 'real' company plus with these dizzies I just can't chance going anywhere other than the village. Although I must say Quill and Diesel would LOVE to have their Auntie Debbie here.

My neighbour when I lived in the old farm house called this weekend to see if I needed anything in Kingston on Tuesday when she goes to the dentist .Turns out I have a dentist appointment Tuesday too! We use the same dentist and our appointments are one after the other so we will go in together. Hopefully if my root canal isn't too painful and I don't get the dizzies we will be able to go out to lunch. Maryl will also take me to the pet store that sells Diesel's kibble. None of the places out this way sell the kibble nor will they entertain the thought of getting a case in for me. Too pricey they say even when I offered to pay for half of the case up front.

Susan hope your first day is the beginning of a rewarding and enjoyable placement. The same wishes for Bob too.

Mary it is the dried beef liver treats that work so well in Diesel's training. Typical male, his stomache rules his mind!

Safe travels Katie when you strike out.

Think I am going to curl up in bed for awhile - this getting up at 4 am on a cold morning is not a fun time. Have a book that I am really enjoying so warm covers, book to finish sound good.

Please send positive thoughts and prayers for my Quiller girl. She is not doing well at all. Sure hope the dasuquin gets here soon. She is having trouble with the stairs to outside so am going to have to build her a ramp.

While it is cold the sun is shining brightly. Looks wonderfully chilly out there. Hurrah Argos!!!!!

Dianne

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Sorry to hear Norm can't have anything to eat till after his procedure, that does make for a long day! Also sending prayers your way!
Sending prayers for Quill too Dianne.

Lyndonville, NY

Good morning,

Woke up to a dusting of snow and icy steps. Paul put salt down before he left for work, and I just put more down.

Dianne, poor Quill. A ramp might help you both the way those dogs get so excited. Izzy is having trouble with steps also and moving slow.
She got wound up with everyone here last night and put on a show then went to her bed early...tired out. Will keep your girl in my prayers for
sure. She is so so sweet.

Barb, do you like the regular coffee or the flavored ones? I like the french vanilla cappochino mix but DH only drinks black coffee and nothing else.
Will be with you today...

Alright, need to get some more tea....still have a jumpy tummy and I need to get out and get things done.

Debbie

mulege, Mexico

More prayers for Norm from here. I was lucky my knee surgery was the first in the morning so I had to get up early but I didn't have to wait long hungry hours to get knocked out.

Prayers for Quiller, too. And for Dianne to get over the dizzies.

Tony is here and we are going over what needs to be done so the place will be safe when I got which will be in a day or two. I barely slept last night so this is not s good day to leave. There is no rush. Thank goodness.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

yikes, double yikes, icy and snow squalls, must say this car doesn't even handle 1/2 as well as my Aveo..made me nervous..of course one guy said I didn't need snowtires, have all season but boy do I need them..called around, $600-$700..tires are cheap enough but the gmt. has new rules/regulations pertaining to tires, you have to pay pre-taxes for when you want to get rid of them, then another tax for god knows what..goes from $128 a tire to $200 and then add $22 each tire to change them..going to have to think about that one...

Debbie, can you ask Paul what chain of tire stores might be in your area..maybe I could check cost and book appt. while I'm down there..calling for snow all week/weekend.

Katie, think your body is trying to tell you something..

Carolyn..ouch siatic nerve problems are just sooo painful..me thinks you are not the only one to be looking for weight loss, I have to do something as well..sure easy to put on, likely because I sit/sit/sit..always doing something but it's always sitting. Are there meds you take to help ease the pain?

Lordy Barb, would have been better early morning appt. Glad that Norm's sister is there with you..think you could use a hug as the day progresses..

Dianne, poor Quill, know what it is like watching a beloved furry lose ground. Ramp is a great idea..
Hope you can make your lunch date without being in too much pain.

Spoke with Jeff this morning, rushed him off the telephone because I was on the line with a tire company, I asked him what did he want, just talk to my mom he aid...well now wasn't the time, did call him back and we chatted.

I asked about Caleb, last person on my Christmas list..said all he wanted was a telephone $900..what ever happened to buying gifts and kids just appreciate what they get..these kids likely like most have far too much, shaking my head..last time I spoke with Jeff he said NO to the gift...today he said Caleb didn't budge, only wants one gift..didn't Jeff get it for him..stupid/stupid..doesn't teach them that you don't get everything you want..when it came to my gift we decided that he loves clothes, I'll send Jeff the money, he'll go shopping for him as he knows the stores/clothing he likes, he'll wrap them up and it will be another surprise for me..

Wanted to know what I want..money of course..looking for a sewing machine that has a larger neck span, maybe when in Florida I can find one much more reasonable then here.

His comment was, 'you hate giving us $$$ mom, and yet what do you ask for but $$$'

Lyndonville, NY

Betty send you email for tires

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

$900.00 for a phone??? Holy cow! If it were my kids asking, I would tell them, they can have it when they get a job and earn the money for themselves! Technology moves too fast to spend that kind of money on a phone I think!
Be careful driving on those roads Betty. Hope you can get some tires when you cross the border.

Betty, you can go to Google maps, enter the area your looking for, then type in tire shop or tire stores, and it will show what is there.

https://maps.google.com

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks to Debbie I did call a place, apparently because of the model and it has tire pressure monitor gauge etc. tires are more expensive sooo likely will make appt. have have 4 put on

I just think these kids have far/far too much, there is no waiting on Christmas, want it, you get it..
Reality will one day hit them, you can't always have what you want
