And it's Veteran's Day. I am praying for Vets to get the after-service care they deserve. Long enlistment periods are very hard on everyone.

Yes, recent reports that the wait time is over a year in some cases.

On Petraeus, I think they should subpoena him to testify as planned. His resignation is irrelevant to the more important issue of Benghazi. And if reports are true, his wife knew for some time so the standard BS about healing the family is just that.

It was very emotional for me to visit Doug's grave......I put the winter box of greens there on Veteran's Day....Marines put in a huge bronze plaque a few months after his death.....looks really nice...

Is he in a Veteran's cemetery? My dad and mom are in one in GA, did a really nice ceremony for my dad

Update. MIL home now for ten days. Doing well, though she sent out the home aid for cigarettes, then lied about it. Nothing new there.
Baby London doing well. Three months old and is adorable. Will post a pic.
My niece gave birth on Nov 1 to a healthy boy - Avery Wayne James. Will get a pic.
Heard from WC. He is well and is now in sunny St. Vincent, lucky guy! He had no damage from Sandy.

Yes, and more lurid details this AM. You wonder why Afghanistan is a mess when the guy in charge can find time for over 20k emails to this woman. Geeze. The worst part of all of this circus is that it distracts from the real scandal/tragedy of Benghazi.

The worst thing about it, Celeste, is that when confronted, she acts like a child. Denying, lying, making excuses. She actually said she really only asked the aid to buy ONE cigarette. Every single problem she has had for the past two years is because of smoking. My wife and BIL have spent so much time, money and energy on her and she appreciates nothing. Totally selfish. My wife told her that if she wants to die she should choose something faster.

After watching my brother die of lung cancer, whew...no words, only lessons.

I'm way past that, having watched about eight family members die from it.

at some point with older folks what is the point to having them stop it will not help them - although they should only indulge when alone to not hurt the family more.

Not in my MIL's case, Bill. She does not have lung cancer.
