Coffee Break # 87 A Time for Thanks

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Just finished the 40th bag of leaves that DH and I carted to the dump. Still not really done but it feels like an achievement. We are really grateful that although the neighbors' trees and limbs fall into the windy part of our yard at every storm, nothing serious has happened to cause long-term damage to our fence or property lately.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks!

South Hamilton, MA

Glad to see you victor. DH takes our leaves to a pit in our woods which turn into compost, I am happy to say.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Great Victor. I've been there.Years ago ice storm 10 days ,cold, even the furniture was freezing.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I've been remembering that ice storm, actually both, the first was worse.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Really sucked. Cold, dark, bored, grouchy, forced to talk to the family!! ;)

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Heehee
That was the best part!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hope people better appreciate electrical engineers!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Did not really believe power was back so had to wet my fingers and stick them in the outlet. It's back.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

LOL .. Glad you will be warm tonight Victor.. Colder out there tonight

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Welcome back Victor!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, ladies. Hope you're back soon, Allison.
My niece went home with her newborn son, Avery, today!
And my dad turned 85!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Happy b-day to your dad and your nephew!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Debi-right on those storms. The first was worst and the city lost 1/3 of its trees.
Victor.Doesnt putting a wet finger in a socket rearrange your hairdo?
Nice name Avery. It was my fathers name. Now my grandson's.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Welcome back Victor! I see being in the dark hasn't dampened your sense of humor. :P

Ory is feeling much better, sore but acting like a typical 4 (almost 5) year old. She still needs lots of test once she heals but in the mean time it's nice to see her smile and the pink return to her little cherub cheeks. ^_^ Thank you for all your prayers, if you wouldn't mind continuing keeping her there for a good outcome, I appreciate it.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Victor: Look on the bright side. You missed a week of political torture ads.
I cant wait for Wednesday.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Glad Ory is feeling better
So true Jo!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Glad Ory is doing OK, keeping her in my prayers.

I didn't think Victor ''had'' a hairdo!

Starting today I am going to watch my DILs sister's 2 year old for a week and a half...what have I gotten myself into!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Good news, good news from you all YAY!!!!!

The son from Texas is coming up Dec 13-18 so we will be having an early Christmas. Each of the ten grandies will get a gift for one other grandy. Certainly saves money for them.

Edited to say we crossed, luvs, but you have gotten yourself in to S O M E fun and probably some frustration. Hopefully more fun. Will be praying for strength for you. Heehee

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Don't have a 'do' - I have a 'don't'!!

Glad Ory is better.

Amen on those political ads. And phone calls!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

This guy should be released in the middle of a long gas line.

Nice guy just trying to help his neighbors.

I just heard from my GF on Marthas Vineyard. They got wind and beach erosion but no as serious damage as NJ and LI.
I guess Patti might have had the same storm.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

welcome back victor - at least it was not cold like we've had the last few times up here.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Bill. Friday and Sat night were quite cold - below freezing.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Trying to help but you can't put gas in any type of container, that's all the police/fire need to clean up a hazmat accident in the midst of everything else

Thomaston, CT

Pixie, so glad about Ory...will continue with prayers. Victor & Jo, I also like the name Avery...no connections to it when I was teaching....that's why our son was named Garret....we never had any in school up to that point....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

The Bloomberg sign lady was great! Mr Ego had to get rid of her asap - took attention away from him.

Thomaston, CT

Sounds like our governor......

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

was good Victor.. but he improved Bloomberg's Spanish.. boy is he terrible

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Busy day at the polls today.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - busy here too. New polling place so lots of confused older people. They have a problem with the paper ballots and scanners.

Yes - Bloomberg's Spanish is pathetic. We have been joking about it for days.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

that was just too funny!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - hilarious.

Thomaston, CT

I voted around 9:30 this morning, & polling place was packed for a small town like ours.....usually, there's no waiting...

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

only 4 other people there with me this morning

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

we went at 2:00 and walked right in.. they break us up by ward and district .. not sure if that helps move people along or not.. but seemed like normal here

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Have to laugh at all these polls that say how fed up the voters are with DC. Then they send them all back! Duhhh.
