Some people will pay good money for those kind of mushrooms Jaye! ^_^
I would think if you turn it over to the sheriff, they will investigate, then Apple will have to give up the info to them.
SWEET INTERRUPTIONS #249
someone got my card number and wiped out my account 1,888.00.
then they over drawed it for 300.
while i was on the phone with the bank theu tried to use it again. they were buying surf boards and t-shirts to be shipped to japan. the bank stopped the transactions and didnt charge me overdraft fees.
wow - that's a lot of $$$ Jaye & Kathy...........
Jaye - your furries are outside hear the poisonous mushrooms? Do they just leave 'em alone cuz they're smart? Sounds like it!!
I pay a few bills on line, and now I'm a little worried. Tell you how dumb I was a while back. Got a call and this guy asked for my routing number and account number for my checks. I was dumb enough to do it and then after I ended the call I started to worry about what I did. Called the bank and they said to come in and change my account number and my debit card number too. No one tried to take money out of my account and no checks outstanding and the girl even called social security to let them know my new number as I have direct deposit. I don't know why I did such a stupid thing, hope I have learned my lesson. Don't know how to let the bank pay all my bills but I may have to find out. I don't leave any tabs or windows open on my computer, thank goodness.
Pegi........... that's awful that someone would ask for this info...
As for "let the bank pay all my bills" are you talking about auto-withdrawal for each bill? That could only be if they are the same amount each month. I set our car payments this way, with the car loan company. The bank can't do it. We had to sign an agreement, and not every company does it. My rent, for instance will not do an auto-withdrawal from my account.
I suppose the reason is - if I move, and it takes them awhile to take auto-withdrawal off, I could still be paying rent on a property I don't live at, until they catch up on their files......
Other bills may be the same too.
I pay all of my bills on line. Have not had a problem in years. most sites are encrypted. bank is for sure.
the problem I had some time back was using a bank card on line to purchase something, and I had a bunch of other tabs open....some how that leaves an "in" for those darn hackers.....they got my card number, and proceeded to purchase all kinds of stuffs.....thankfully the bank gave me all of the money back. I have always checked my account often so I knew rather quickly that something was wrong.!!
hope every one is safe from storm.
Oh Pegi!!!! God must be protecting you! I am glad that nothing disastrous happen after that snafu! I'm sure the guy on the other end must be shocked that you readily turn in your info. An angel must have tapped on his shoulder and told him to do the right thing.
Same here, Thunder. More convenient to pay bills online. Our banker says that will stay the same since withdrawals are made from our checking account.
Susan, somehow the furries avoid all poisonous plants. God directed you think? I have brugmansias all around, and they never chewed on them. Even when I had daturas. Isn't that amazing?
Coffee is ready sistahs. Bacon sandwiches for breakfast.
Bacon will make this day better... I believe that. Yep.. kinda sad watching the news, I don't want the death #s to increase from Sandy's treacherous claws.
Think some of you know how vocal I've been on FB.. today.. out of respect for those affected by Sandy.. one day of political abstinence. Maybe 2..
We'll keep praying won't we?
No Sue!!!!
Too soon for white! Wrong color.. wrong color!
Morning everyone! Thanks for breakfast Jaye! Guess I will have to turn on the TV and see what I missed. Sounds like it is not good with the storm? Saying prayers for all!
Sue is that your yard? I agree, it is too early for that color! Stay warm!
We lost one big tree that thankfully fell away from the house!!! Only a blurb of a power loss and today all is well again here. We were so lucky. My daughter lost power yesterday afternoon and it is not back on yet. The boys are here with me for today. Gotta love it!!!!
Mornin', thanks for breakfast Jaye. It is 39 here this morning, the furries are crazy. They have been running up and down the stairs at break neck speed...reminder to self: stay out of their way! :-)
Unbelievable all the damage that is being reported......no, I guess it is believable as that is what huge, ginormous systems do when they come in. LK, I have absolutely, positively no compassion (sorry sisthas) for jerks who do not heed the warnings. I get even madder when some innocent person is then putting their life on the line to rescue them. Off my soap box!!
Glad to see everyone reporting in and hoping the damages aren't as bad as we thought. Barb, trees can be replaced.
So glad to hear your OK Barb, I agree, damages to house can be repaired. Praying your daughter gets her electric services back soon!
Wow....Sue, snow....can't believe it. It's not even that cold here! What a difference a few miles makes!
Jaye are you near the coast? What has it been like in your area or around Virginia Beach? A friend is there this week and we were wondering how the vacaqtion was going to be with the storm. My brother in the mountains of western NC has got snow!!!
It's been mild here, Barb. Just light rain, with some winds.. unlike those closer to Hatteras. I'm within an hour's drive from Myrtle Beach. Hope your friend is able to enjoy her vacation.
Only one reported death in NC. I believe it's because that person refused to heed warnings.
I'm relieved to read nothing serious your way, Barb. Maybe your DD will try to get a generator, for just in case?
You're absolutely right Marion. Irene claimed much more lives here. But most died from their own irresponsible actions!
FEMA may get a bad rap. But at least there's some form of big scale mass help. Watch our property insurance rates increase with mother nature showing her wrath more and more.
i agree with you maid m.
Cookie yes we were at 33 this morning and high wind warnings until tonight so winchill is 18 brrrrr. but they went to school ! LOL
bout time i get them at the bus stop
also picked up our little neighbor Avery. i didn't want her standing in the cold wind and snow brrrr. her parents have early shifts today .
Jaye, I believe that call asking for all my bank information was a scammer hoping to get some free money. Said I was going to get a free medical card in the mail, ya haven't seen one yet. I'm not telling family what a stupid thing I did. I think I was lucky to have gone to the bank right away and cancelled my checking account and got a new one. There is never much money in my account, but if they can wipe a senior out they will do it. I check on my account all the time, too many evil people out there.
Our mornings and evenings are very cool, but it really is nice during the day. I can handle this kind of weather, never could take the snow and bitter cold again.
Thought I had Mandy trained to go outside, but she made a liar out of me. She goes in and out the doggie door just fine as long as Sami goes out out too. Needs more praising I guess. Bought a cat collar at the Dollar Tree Store for her and it still is a little big. Looks cute on her. She now weighs 4 lbs. 12 oz. I have to take some more pictures of her, if she will hold still for a couple minutes.
Pegi, I don't know about you, but cool weather is certainly seeing a return of uninvited Arthur!!
Be patient with Mandy. She'll get it right one day. Furbabies are just like kids. Some will challenge you. I've been very lucky with Lola. But then, she does her business on a pad in the washroom.
I wish I don't have to get more heartworm pills for these two dogs, since it's winter! But the vet said, we're in the South and winters here aren't too cold for mosquitoes!
Good news! Got our money refunded! Kel's still complaining about the unnecessary heartache, but at least we got the money back!
I'll be checking my credit card every other day, just to be on the safe side. I don't have a high credit limit on it, but once bitten twice shy, right?
Since our bank will be going through a new owner, we won't be getting a new debit card till 3 weeks from now. That is perfectily fine with me, but not with Kel.
And NO, he's not getting my credit card, so I'll buy him a prepaid Visa. With that, he can't go crazy!
ah yes, Jaye - prepaid CCs are good! That way I don't have much $$ on mine and no one wants to access it for 99 cents LOL
Pegi - hope you Can get pics of Mandy - looking forward to seeing the little princess :-)

Christmas stocking swap interest. Come and check it out!
Happy Hallowe'en everyone!!
Happy Halloween!!!
I've been scared today!!
Was sitting down having breakfast at a local coffee shop this morning, someone tapped me on the shoulder. Turned around and I literally screamed!!!
The owner had this ghastly Joe Dirt wig on, and he succeeded to win a bet with his wife that I'd jump!! Thank God, my bp meds work!!
Having 'net issues. Speed isn't up to par. Hopefully I can get online without any hiccups later.
omy goodness, Jaye - I'd have jumped too!! I hope when you screamed you scared the "living s&*# outta him!! I have a low startle threshold, and can easily scream when someone comes up behind me unexpectedly!
Here's Jerusalem as it is today...... just think, these places were seen by Jesus and the disciples...
http://www.youtube.com/embed/tLgdb6r0MQ4?rel=0
Ah, how things have changes as that is not the place I recall...most likely done for travel.
How long ago did you see Israel, Marion?
They are so adorable, big one also
Only had 40 kids tonight, less than half normal trick/treaters..guess rainy weather did not help.
Late 1999 but trust me things don't change that rapidly over there. Missing most from the pictures are the soldiers all over the city armed with automatic guns....does take a while to locate them but once you have figured where they are, it is easy to spot them.
You saw soldiers in that You Tube I posted, Marion?
my gosh, I didn't see any.......
No, there are none in that video but in real life they are every where. I am sure that was made to use for the tourism trade.
Love the trick or treaters!
Hey Cindy, how are you doing? Any luck on your hand surgery yet?
whew.......... I thought I was missing something there, Marion! I'm definitely sure this was made for the tourism trade, but still - it's beautiful, and refreshing to see the good stuff in this country. There are a lot of innocent citizens that love their country and its beauty.
Woah, Mama Sue!!! And Freak Juniors dressing right for Halloween! I bet they don't feel the cold!
40 kids Betty? None here, as usual. Not a bark from Hambone neither. Kids don't come this far into the country side for free candy.
Cindy, did you dress up tonight?
Marion, I bet there are still plainsclothes policemen roving the city, with weapons under their shirts besides the usual too obvious military. That's Middle East for you. Very volatile part of the world.
Thing is Susan, I thought Elvis had returned!!! Lolol.. have you ever seen one of those wigs? It has a slight bouffant (sp) on top and long side burns.. just like Elvis' hairdo! Scared me to death! Bet he won't terrify Betty!
You know things come in 3s right? My first scare was when that FBI agent and company came knocking at the door. Second, was when the money was swiped. This was my third and yes it's a new month tomorrow!
Well.. my connection speed dashed all my hopes of uninterrupted online surfing. Dropped as low as 4.2 kbps. Called techie.. the usual excuse.. working to fix it.
So I'll bid you all a good night and don't eat all those candy in one sitting Sue!!
