Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Okay Joyce and Betty, I still might trade you places for raking leaves!!! LOL I don't bother, just run over them with mulching mower, catch in bag and deposit in flower beds!! Yes, I am lazy!!!

Debbie, I am hoping and prayer this storm weakens and honestly, haven't look at the reports so far today. Be safe and enjoy your coffee this morning.

Getting some things done in the event I have to go south quickly. Mom has taken another turn and not sure where or what to expect. Actually another UTI, running fever of 102 and definite problems with catheter. Waiting to hear from my sister today.

Betty, you mentioned you were going to be in Florida 2 times in 2013 (not including get together). What are the approximate dates and location. We are going to get together yet!!!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Well, he broke the water line in the waterfall mound, and yes, digging will definately be a part of fixing it! Glad I'll be away from those two guys!

Sad day yesterday. I took Little Man and Snowball to the humane society. It was hard to let them go, but they assured me that they won't be there long cause they're so cute. I looked at the cages of cats after I left and there weren't very many kittens, there were quite a few cats, but not as many as the last time I stopped in there. They had a lot of black cats and I was glad to see signs on their cages that said they wouldn't be adopting them out until after Halloween for their safety. They're having a special on adopting right now, $25 for cats and $30 for kittens. They charged me $30 to take the two little ones off my hands. $25 for the first, and $5 for the second.

Our DS, Bill (the third) is going to take Smokey, the one that looks like a seal point siamese (boy), and my Bill just couldn't let Funny Face (aka Fi Fi/Fiona) go. She is still pretty small and when we were talking about taking them, she got up and cuddled into Bill's lap....so that took care of that! Guess we'll be a 5 cat home now...sigh.....

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

LOL Joyce, your Bill sounds so much like Ross regarding cats. We caught 2 wild kittens and when it came time to let them be adopted, Ross found something wrong with everyone who came to see them. Yes, we ended up keeping both of them.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

The funny thing about this is that Bill has ALWAYS been a cat disliker. I won't say hater, but he would rather avoid them for sure. Then I got the ragdoll and he started to like him saying he was more like a puppy than a kitten...then the thing with the strays last year, cause the little black cat was all purry and cuddly to him, now with these kitties....I almost can call him a cat lover, but not to his face!!! ^_^

So sorry about your Mom, Marion....I know how hard this is on you and Sue....Kim, too. My prayers are with you all.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about your Mom not doing well Marion, we will keep her in our prayers!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning.

WHOO HOO Judy! You go girl...so proud of you. BIG HUGS for you.

Marion, good thoughts to you and your Mom.

Had to laugh Joyce....kittens have a way of worming themselves into your heart....guess your DH is a victim of "kitten persistence"...grin Hope the waterline is a quick fix.

Hope the storm pushes further out into the Atlantic and the hot and cold don't meet....

Debbie, hope DD recovers quickly...good thoughts to you and her.

Hope everyone has a peaceful pleasant day. Lots of fog here, but it is warm and the sun is breaking through...

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I would have to say Ross was definitely a "cat lover" as was his dad!

Thanks about Mom but this an ongoing problem with her inability to move........just so scary as each time it wears her down more.

No can mulch the leaves, I'm walking in 1/2 foot of leaves all over the yard, raking only option.

Weather is so heavy right now, sure it won't blow over.
Drats was so sure I had maccaroni in the house, not, so now I have to wait Neil 3:00 when my shift is over to go to the store..

Marion, sorry to hear your mother is not doing well, it's been a long road for her (and for you) what a fighter..let's hope her fever breaks and won't have to take that trip south when you are feeling poorly yourself. I'll be leaving he, if everything goes according to plan around Dec 19th/20th then depending how Darlene makes out on her own down there likely go back mid to late March to pick her up..will drive down/fly home then fly down/drive home..her place is in FtMyers. Guess 3rd trip down will depend when the gathering will be.

Debbie you enjoy that sunshine for me..was still dark when I headed into town this morning, lo and behold the wind was up and I could see a bit of fire..glad I didn't burn all the bushland. As for weatherman, let's hope he's wrong. How is Shannon doing today?

Joyce, not good news at all about the water line..guess once you find where the break is it can be a quick fix..will Bill have to go looking and use the backhoe? Ahh heartbreaking for sure..had to be hard to keep a few kitties while taking others in hopes they find new homes. Pet store in the mall yesterday had about 10 kitties, pretty well all looked like Missy..$149 each but guess that includes their shots and perhaps neutering.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Yes, Marion, I understand that...so very hard for all of you.

Lil Injun! I forgot to say how proud I am of you! It is a hard thing stopping, I heard it was easy....people do it all the time, then start, then quit, then start, then quit! You show us, Girl!!! Been over 10 years for me now. Sometimes, I still miss it.... you understand, I'm sure.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I imagine Marion just so you have piece of mind you will head south..hard watching an ailing parent. Roger did not like cats..dogs yes!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Betty, we know exactly where the break is, cause he hit it with the shovel while trying to get the EE out.

Meant to tell you how much I loved that apron. I loved the one at the store, too, but my gosh, the Christmas fabric is to die for!!!!!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

That used to be Bill, and my son is like that, too. Although, he likes Riley, too. Not sure what it is about him....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Got an entire quilt top done, could be quilting it this weekend, managed to sew enough fabric in pieces to make the final 3" border..I'm about 7" short, imagine, guess who is in the garbage bag to look for pieces I may have cast aside

Judy, I am also so very very proud of you for stopping the cigs. Know how very hard that is for you, but we want to keep you around for a LONG LONG time...as I am sure your kids and Steve do too.

Marion, thoughts of you and family with your Mom. Those infections are so painful too.

Shannon still running fever, very clammy feeling. Has been sleeping quite a bit between medicine doses, best thing for her. She just ate some oatmeal so thats good. Hope a big change today as she has to go to work tomorrow or loses her job.

DH informed me he has to go to Iowa on Thursday for work. Don't know if it is a day or over night trip.

Tomorrow is my oldest girls birthday. Told her last birthday....the rest will be anniversaries of her 29th birthday! I refuse to have a child over 30!!! lol If only it worked so simple.

Lyndonville, NY

Wanted to add...Joyce my DH was like that but with dogs. NOT a dog person at all, but has come around. And I have told DD that when she gets another apartment these kittens are going with her or to the shelter....I just can't afford all these vet bills.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad you got to keep a few..maybe it's aging, they become more cuddly!

Will have to post a photo or two of Sharon's puppies and a photo of Sharon winning all categories and best of show with another one of her American Eskimo dogs..show was held the weekend we were in Frankenmuth.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ohh Debbie, it's not bad, I've kids in their 40's.. But 29 sounds good.
Isn't that terrible that not only does an individual have to contend with being extremely ill but have to worry about losing their job as well.
