Love that memorial bench Joyce, very touching! Hope your GD is feeling better soon.
Marion, sure hope that Kim is not in too much pain!
Susan, glad your home safely from driving in that snow storm!
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends
Are you now rested up LindaKay after your visit with family and our Frankenmuth gathering..didn't get to hear what goodies you purchased..guess who is regretting not buying the rotating tree stand?
I've kept busy at work last two days, been working n a quilt piece, not sure what it shall be or for who and I'm about 1/2 done, thought I'd work on it for a bit, mind says go for it but body says rest!
Not raining right now but it's damp..have the bath running, won't be a late night.
Ann is away this week so no tv bingo..guess I could play but that bed is looking comfy.
Betty - I just wanted to get it over with, and get myself OFF the couch so I wasn't getting "down".
I was in severe danger of it.
I spoke to the agency, and she said the reason I was let go was because I "was too slow to learn my job". They decided this after 2 1/2 days? Cuz that's when the agency tried to get in touch with me... to quote someone else on here "Geeze Looeeze!!"
Anyway, I heard from my friend Glaide (she stopped by for tea today - how lovely!) that my Bob said to her I don't have to go to work, he doesn't expect it. How sweet is that? That takes a lot of pressure off me, for sure! He also said I'm the one who expects I have to work....
But then, the bills won't pay themselves..........
Susan on CITY news at 6 pm tonight they showed video of Calgary. I would just be around the bed waking up to that weather this morning. Sanders out already!! WOW! Supposed eto be over 20*F here on Thursday - how about you?
20F? ummmmmm don't you mean celcius?
by the 6th of Nov we're supposed to get 7c, so we should have no snow by then :-)
Right now it's minus 5c
The roads were pretty "greasy" and all the slushy ruts were getting hard. In a 100k zone, people were driving 40k........ made everything a little slower/later for arrivals, but most were safe. We'd had a light snow before, about a week ago, but this was a Major Dump Of Snow overnight.
It's about 75 F. here. I'm wearing a t-shirt and flip-flops. Nothing else. kb
no shorts? lol Katie - I know you're in the boonies, but geeeeeeeze!!
My home is very private. kb
Go for it Katie. Lol. Chuckling
Dianne, must be our Indian summer do you think? Yep, newsman this morning was saying for all to practice their cough, Thursday would be an excellent day to book a sick day. How is Diesel doing tonight, he was neutered today right? Think Debbie said today..am sure he will be a spoilt patient.
Just got off the telephone with Darlene, she was telling me that Ann went to court yesterday and her 'careless driving' charge was reduced to following too close $85 fine and 2 points loss..sure beats the alternative as it was 6 points and insurance going up sky high. Then Ann got bad news, her nephew (22) whom she helped raise was diagnosed with testicle cancer..never seems to end for her and her family.
Susan, Roger would say the same, sweetie he was but I knew we'd have a better quality of like my working..guess that is why you feel you must work as well..here is hoping another job is on the horizon, but not till winters end lol
lol katie!! What would you do about Google Earth? It can pinpoint your home, and streets....... LOL
awe, Ann is having one Heck of a life lately..... her poor nephew! Mind you, my friend Leland's son had the same thing, and it was dealt with very easily and well. Also, mind you, he was in the forces, and they sent him to Germany to have it looked after. Apparently they are the best in the world for this type of surgery.
Yes, I am getting rested after the trip, I was just telling Judy how traveling knocks you on your nutt! Don't know how you do it Betty!
Susan, that is a lot of snow, please drive careful if you have to go out.
Hello To All !
Thunder that is gorgeous ! Did you tell us what your pressie is ?
Don't know how our Snowbirds do it... Susan that is cccccold ! I'm with Katie & LK.. shorts and tshirt flip flops... October is stellar weather in Louisiana. *someone* told Betty she should visit in April or October LOL...
(HUGS) to Ann Betty...
Too Funny "Practice on your cough". Joyce hang tight... we'll get you in the Swap Sure of that ! I've already started knitting my gift... oh don't believe that? okay... I'm quilting it. ... NO?... OKAY.... already on Amazon web surfing for it okay ! I guess I'm in the noncrafty club with Deb although I tend to believe she has turned out a craft or two before.....just not telling....
Susan - took me 3 years and I still haven't learned my job I suppose !
Dianne - give Diesel a hug and extra treat for me... I really need a morning walk. Been too busy lately
GOT To share a pic from last night.... DS and GF carved a pumpkin. Their idea... I loved it...
Hugs
Mary
My package from Betty?? some templates for quilting, and squares for the charm swap. ^_^

Love those quilt blocks Thunder!
yep, t shirts and tank top here! 95 today!
LK - you don't wear shorts, either? T-shirt & tank top........ warm on top, eh? ROFL
Mary - gonna have to send my prev boss to fire your sorry a** LOL
LOVE that pumpkin! So cute!!
LK - I'm not going out unless I have to, until the snow subsides lol Actually, I need to go out on Thurs am, and pm (Bob can drive at night lol) for Bible study & choir practice. If I really wanted to, a friend of mine that lives about a block & a half can give me a ride in the am. She has poor night vision, so we give her a ride to choir practice.
Anyway, no need to go out driving.
cute pumpkin!
Linda Kay im so jealous!!!!!!! its been raining here for two days,
cant wait to go in the pool shortly so i think its still summer at least its 80 in there lol
wow thunder thats a beauty..
betty give ann our best poor thing
ahh times ticking hello all and wishing you all the best
susan sending you a big hug.
Got my name....when is the deadline for shipping? Wishing I knew what others will be giving since I've not been in this swap before. Surely don't want to look cheap!!!!
Joyce, somewhere there is a thread from last year. You can look through that and just get ideas. It is just whatever you think that person would like and enjoy. Something you made, a craft or something from store. It can be Christmas related, it can be garden, whatever you want....no rules really that I remember.
I had a rough night and was in competition with Marion. Finally went to the doctor for this "crud" and have ear infection and sinus infection. Got the script filled and took one on the way home. Well, by the time I got here I was breaking out in hives all over my face/'head/neck and chest. Called doc soon as I got home and started taking benedryl. OH JOY!!! I have had that med (Cipro) many times and never a problem, already allergic to Penicillin family. Heading out now for a new prescription and hopefully no issues. (knock wood).
Have a good morning, be back later
Debbie
Oh gosh, Debbie, so sorry for your reaction. Hope the new stuff works better.
I forgot to say that Bryn left about 4:00 yesterday. She forgot her lunch bag and came back at 7:00 to pick it up. She was her bouncy self again. It was a nagging headache that was getting her down. I gave her some Advil and that seemed to help. She really hates to be by herself. I think at 13, I was excited about being by myself!
Hope you all have a wonderful day.
Thanks for the tip on the exchange Debbie!
Morning all, drizzling/cool/damp brrr
open up the thread and here you are gabbing about being in shorts and flip/flops, making me envious to say the least. Still better than the snow Susan has.
Liz, brings a smile to my lips you stating you are off to swim, means you are still at it, getting healthier by the day..hugs
Mary love the Mickey Mouse pumpkin, leave it to you, the Queen of Disney to have such a pumpkin...bet the kids enjoyed the carving.
Thunder, you sure have a knack for patterns and color..love it.
Think Mary thought I was talking about what I sent but was asking about the pressie quilt we are doing..
Have 20 'pressie' blocks done, now to move on to next step. Feel blessed to have a boardroom table to work on and a paycheck to go along with it lol
I purchased while travelling with the girls 4 panels of the roses, they thought I'd have it done by the time I reached home, not, but did have it done the next day...looking around my photo's for finished piece, looks like chenille when done, sewing all 4 together and cutting but can't seem to find it, will post it tonight!
What do you all have planned for the day?
Stacey posted this on facebook... I bet Janice is so excited knowing there is a Granddaughter on the way!
Soooo, we had our ultrasound and visit to the baby specialist yesterday. Everything is going well and all the things I am taking are apparently working. We also found out that the baby is a girl:) We are soooooo excited. So it looks like in Feb we will have Alexandra Evelyn to add to the family!!!
Love those pressie blocks Betty!
Debbie, sure hope the benadryl worked for those hives, they are not fun at all! Make sure your Dr. marks your file with big red letters! NO CIPRO!!!!
LindaKay, that certainly is good news..omg they must be beside themselves..it will be a long haul for Stacey, this pregnancy has taken it's toll..bet Janice will be just a sewing.
Thanks about the pressie blocks, all squared now might get ambitious and move on to next step lol
lol betty hope you have one close to your house will be hard not to do my laps at 6.30 am
Joyce - re: cheapo....... we all do what we can, so please don't think your buddy would think you're cheap if you don't send a huge amount of stuff.
Liz - thanks for the hug! After yesterday's "postal hug" I'm feeling better than I have for a long time. And then I'm welcomed to this room of lovely people with yet another hug!! Thank you.
Alexandra Evelyn........what a beautiful name!! My eldest sister is Evelyn!
Debbie - I suppose you had to pay for both prescriptions? Tough that one has to be thrown out so you don't take it in error. How nasty to have that reaction!
This am I am taking a Webinar in 1/2 hour (for 1 hour), called: CareerClass: Get the Right Career Right Now! Guess I'd best get dressed lol
Yes, had to pay for both prescriptions....no biggie. One was $7 the other $3. Itchies are better, now afraid to take the next one! Good grief.
Great news for Stacey & Janice. Going to be a long four months waiting with all she has been through.
oh, not expensive then....... I was thinking in the 100's of $$ LOL
Thankfully we have good insurance!!
Liz lol do have a big one, called Georgian Bay, just don't expect 85 degrees though!!
Debbie, thank goodness both prescriptions were reasonable..Paul has coverage for prescriptions though right?
Sure did miss you last weekend and the time before...
Yes, we have full coverage...expensive each month but worth the coverage just in case.
Debbie, I didn't say do as I do!!!! LOL, Sorry, cipro can be horrible to your system and it is one of the drugs I can't take either. I will start behaving now if you will. Glad you didn't have to spend "an arm and a leg" for the prescriptions. Mine was the first 7 days free........well I don't guess it was free if you add in the ambulance to the hospital, the CAT scan, MRI MRA and heart monitor. Dread getting that bill but.........
Follow up visit with doc today and I am fine, just a severe drug reaction. My daughter , however, isn't doing as well. She is having a great deal of pain and face swollen. Doubt seriously she can teach tomorrow either. Time and all will be better.
In the 80's here and in a sleeveless t-shirt dress.....beautiful weather.
I felt lonely Marion....and was hoping for an ambulance ride, we have a HOTTIE on the team, but....benedryl thankfully took care of it.
Trust me, you would NOT have wanted the ambulance ride I had even though there was some nice "eye candy". I was given phenergin for the throwing up and was told I would be asleep shortly. NOT!!!! I am bummed out there was no nice eye candy pictures on the top of the MRI tube to make it more interesting.
Been there done that, not fun. I did ask once and they said it would mess with the imaging. Apparently it activates certain areas of the brain. Imagine that! LOL
No, I really do not want an ambulance ride at all.....and would prefer if we would ALL stay healthy and out of them.
LOL "mess with the imagining"..........yes, I imagine it would!!!!!! roflmao
aha - thank you, LK - I had forgotten what you looked like! AND, I don't think I'd ever seen a pic of Karen. SO, now I have you all "semi-in-my-head" LOL
Looks like you were all intent on your menus lol
How great is this?!?! I love to see y'all having such a good time on your travels...... :-)
Janice and I at the Bavarian Inn for dinner. And what a great dinner it was.
Bertie and Joyce.
Betty in the hallway dancing to the polka music, that lady was playing!
Ann and Betty.
I don't know about you ladies, but I really had a great time, and so glad we all finally got to meet!
I hope I got all the name correct?
Linda great pictures! Janice looks so so good, despite all her traveling...must have done her good! Looks like a good tie for all.
