lol on the last photo of your first post I look like I'm dreaming, me thinks it was looking at that gentleman who was serving us..eye candy for sure..did want him to table dance but it was a no go! lol
You got all the names right and I had a wonderful visit..it was more than a pleasure meeting you..treasured moments for sure.
Marion, sure hope Kim gets some relief for the pain. Glad you got a clean bill of health
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends
LOL! He said he would dance on the table, but he liked his job too much to do so! He sure kept us laughing, and kept the food coming!
Ahhh sure wish I could be younger and enjoy myself with what is out there..likely I'd be a tramp!!! lol
hmmmm
Well, time to call it a day here at the 'sewing room', accomplished the goal I had set for the day so happy camper I am.
Tomorrow's payday, my hand should shake, but it won't
hey Betty - if you don't want your paycheque, send it to me LOL LOL roflmao!!
Thanks for sharing the photos. You all looked like you were having a good time. Hmmm dancing on the table, sounds like fun.
Great idea Debbie for those who need some refreshing (which includes me) about Santa Warren's Gift Exchange to go back and look over the threads starting about this time last year. We all seemed to have good luck with the postal service last year and our gifts arrived at a suitable time. Remember you can open your gift when you receive it and for those of you who have a camera please remember to take some photos of your gift to share with us. Whoever or is it whomever(??) gets my name please take photos before you send the parcel as I still don't do photos.Remember this whole idea of this exchange is a gift from the heart to a friend.
Back from dentist who shook his finger at me several times. Made me quake as it reminded me of my sweet dad. My mam could whale the tar out of me and I would still go back and do the same thing but all daddy had to do was raise his finger and I would be in tears saying I won't do it again even if I didn't know what I had done. Another 2 hour appointment tomorrow but at least Doc was able to relieve some of the pain today. I have a messy infection ,no wonder my mouth was hurting so much.
Speaking of infections how are you doing Debbie? Hope you are on the mend.Glad Paul has good coverage, that sure means a lot. Since Warren was over 65 all his meds were covered by the government except for the dispensing fee which was $4.44. Plus we had extra coverage from when he taught to cover my meds. My dispensing fee is $12.00 and then I have to pay 20% of the cost of the meds. You will hear no complaining from me, I am thankful to have the coverage.
Betty I got all excited when you said it was payday tomorrow - I thought you meant it was pension time but darn that's not for another week.
Diesel is telling me he wants out. This neutering has not slowed him down 1 little bit. I am overjoyed he is so healthy.
BBL
Dianne
I want to say how much we value you as a loving person who is keeping the Santa Warren Gift Exchange going..... you're an angel, m'dear!!
This year I promise to Really step up and give my exchange buddy a good package!!
I know what you mean about fathers, Dianne....... my dad (bless his heart, and he's passed on many years ago) used to terrify me until I crouched into a corner in tears.
Well, better get back to work - Round Robin quilting waits for no one!! lol
Glad Dianne that the dentist shook his finger at you, yes, you deserve a scolding to have held off feeling so unwell until now..we'll all be shaking our fingers right girls. CPP is 29th this month..my other pensions don't come in until the 1st..that's when I do the happy dance at least for the morning until all the bills are paid and I have to stick to a budget lol
Likely will take a bit of time before Diesel realizes he can be more relaxed..
I am excited this year about the Christmas exchange, had so much fun last year despite feeling sad for both you and Santa Warren. What a trooper he was... he and Tubby are always on my prayer list!
If I could dance on the streets of NewOrleans figured it was safe to dance to Octoberfest music, boo hoo no University students though.
As for meds, can't wait until next March when I turn the big 65..free meds as I smile while typing.
Some of the girls who met up in Frankenmuth do not frequent the sewing threads, as they challenged me thinking I'd have the fabric I purchased done into projects before the weekends end I thought I'd post finished projects...bought 4 panels of the roses, the chenille piece is done..
challenged me with apron (love that it's reversible, project done and 2nd one started)
Decided I was not going to lay on the chesterfield and sleep tonight so I managed to get the last row of pressie sewn on the top, now I'm ready to finish the top when I get to work tomorrow..always the finishing touches which add the final punch
fought the headache and tired but decided I'd not get done what I wanted to do this week unless I pushed myself, feel better for it, now going to try out the rotating matt and cut the mini strips that border the quilt top as to make it easier to finish tomorrow, NOT going to waste my evening sleeping like I have been these past few weeks.
Funny, got a call from DIL Melanie asking when the Markham Craft show is, when Ganz is having their big warehouse sale, and did I know about Lens Mills opening in Toronto, gave her the date so she can mark her calendar..this afternoon, my cousin Linda e-mailed me asking the same..sure wish I had a bus rather than the small vehicle I have,am sure I'll have a few girls calling wanting to go as well.
I had better take advantage of the next 2 weekends as the following 3 I'll be busy day and night...
We received from the mall a list of November activities..do you know in less than 3 weeks Santa is arriving at the mall..can't believe it!
Betty, what is this years Christmas project? More vintage Santa's, candle holders...
Lordy, trying to put together easy project and something not heavy for mailing..
Remember the Christmas tree picture at the fabric shop?? Testing it out
Betty , love those projects!! the fabric on the apron. blue snowflake, is the same I used in my Christmas star !!! those pressies sure look good, I may have to do that one after-all??
Oh, the chenille looks wonderful! Wish I had a color printer that worked so I could show Bertie! ^_^
The polka was playing as we were all moving, and then Bettie showed us all up with some fancy foot work! (Clogging!) What a fun, ,fun time. Lovely to meet Karen and LK in person and to meet up with all my other dear sistahs.
Another shorts and flipflop day here, but tomorrow all that changes! Guess I better get those plants off the porch and into the warm. I sprayed them with bug spray so I didn't bring them in, and everything should be dead now.
Got in the pond yesterday and was in there for almost 4 hours. Looks pretty good, but I didn't get the net on yesterday so I'll have more scooping of leaves to do today! Kind of sad to close it up. I'll let the waterfall run until it starts freezing up, but all the lilies are cut back and the elephant ears out and waiting to come into the basement.
Sounds like Bill is having some problems with the kitties, guess I better go help him out!
Joyce, I just opened the windows and front door. The say same tomorrow....but SNOW next week! How dare they!!!
Shannon is at Urgent care, she has developed "the crud" and looks like a mess. Texting...fever 101.7, tonsils enlarged....waiting on strep test.
Hi...Whew, sure enjoying the last of this beautiful fall weather!!
Yikes, pouting about the warming climates going away, suppose to drop 30* by days end, brrr...Yesterday morning trees were loaded with color. Went to my doc visit, when i returned, all the color on the deck!! LOL, Steve said boom they just dropped all at one time, wish I could have watched, oh well,
Anyways, Debbie, Marion, Dianne, sending you all some big tight Armwraps, was so bummed that you had such awful, and Scarey reactions to medicines...I do hope the new medicines will take care of the situations!
oh,oh...having tech. issues see if this goes through!!
So what did the doctor say Judy, how was the appointment????
Shannon possibly has Mono. Has a note, no work til Saturday...and antibiotics.
Sigh.
Drats, not good news at all Debbie, mono is contagious correct?? hope you take precautions seeing as you are also having health issues. Poor child, must be discouraging seeing as she just gets over one illness that she has another.
Judy, wish all the trees at my place would drop their leaves, worked on raking the other night, winds/rain and more on the ground..at least when they are finished you can rake and that's the end. Had wanted to spend all weekend raking but looking at the weather it will rain for the next 3 days. At least it's not snow but its a coming!!!!
Hmmm posted earlier this morning, must remember not to open another screen or photo, perhaps that's why it's gone.
Joyce, been in the pond early spring, got to tell you, after a few hours of cleaning I don't smell pretty. You will be so glad to have all the gardens ready for winter..sad time of year isn't it.
Not sure what I did this a.m., thought I had the pressure in my neck behind me, drats, can hardly hold my head up.
Paul is coming in for late appt. this afternoon, if it goes beyond 4:30 I'll sit and wait, least I can do seeing I sewed all week. Was so disappointed, got the top all done and ran out of background fabric for a 3" border..can piece what I have or wait until next trip to Joann's in hopes they have some.
Here I thought I'd have that piece done over the weekend, guess it's not to be.
Dianne, not great news for you. Do take care.
Sending arm hugs right back Judy.
Imagine Dianne is at the dentist for further dental work..she'll be sore and tired tonight..let's hope Diesel snuggles in with her this afternoon while she's healing.
I hope that there are still names out there as I have not received mine yet. I have so much on my plate right now that I am just as glad to wait a bit. Trying to get ready for the Bazaar; finding out people who signed up not can't work. They all have excellent reasons for not being able to help but that doesn't change the fact that this is going to be me, myself and I working on the Bazaar.
Looks like I am going to be alone for the first time on Thanksgiving. My daughter is in St. Louis and must work on Friday so she can't come here. Sons Craig and Chris both have to work and Craig's wife will be in Kansas City with her daughter. The only one left is John in Detroit and I hate to ask him to come all the way down here for just the two of us. We'll see.
Janice, I didn't see your name on the list above.....wonder if they forgot to add you???
Hi I'm back, lol nice my run around is done for the day!!
So, I have enjoyed seeing all the projects going on...Betty you still just amaze me with all you get done!!
Love the chenelle piece, it turned out so beautiful..Such pretty material for the aprons too. awe and got to say the gift blanket is so much fun.
Yippee, I got my name too and I am really excited about it! Got some fun plans for my buddie too, already did the research I needed to do....And LOL, I'm keeping my buddies name a secret too...
so if i get to blab with you not gonna say, wink.
Oh gosh, Debbie, sorry to hear Shannon is sick! Yikes, sure hope its not mono...Oh thanks for posting about Stacy, woohoo a baby girl for them! I know they were praying extra hard for a girl. I bet Janice is just jumping for joy too and already sewing little girl things..
Well Doc appt, went ok. We had to send for the results of all the tests so will go over those my next visit...She did however up the dosage on both meds. Said my pressure is still a little high, which means i will have to take these at least for now the rest of my life!! I am sooo not happy about that but, hey if I get to wake up another day, then I will do this. I told her about having this issue is giving me more stress then before i knew i had this...LOL, she told me to stop monitoring my BP and to just watch my salt intake...which is really 0 for me, unless its already in food, I don't touch it. I don't eat junk food, or packaged food other then occasional canned foods. Doc said most likely its not from what i am eating either..which is good because i was paranoid to eat anything, lol...i know shake my head. She said some people just have high blood pressure, just is so perplexing is i wasn't having any symptoms! LOL which lead me to the next issue of my health, uh the getting old thing, been done with the monthly for a while, so i just had a few questions, #1, when does the hot flash thing go away??? WELL, HANDS FLY TOO THE HIPS...Hahah, hated her answer, depends on the women, could be 6 weeks could 6 years !!!! lol got to keep a bandana handy...was the other thing, with this issue, every time i get a flash, im worried...
So bottom line is "Chill" and stop worrying. Yeah, ok, she don't know me too well, Lolol...but i m working on it.
So here is my progress report: Don't have the first ciggie till 10:30-11.!! down to 3 cigs a day...Trying not to shove food in my face...found out to do breathing exercise instead, find it helpful. Also, Ive been really sleepy and so I've been taking naps...lol, thought it was 'cause of the meds, nope, my body fighting off cigs! That horrible cough is also almost gone and the crud diminished to almost nothing...I am working really hard without going cold turkey, Ive done that and it just doesn't work. I figure, in a little time, I will just not smoke any more.
I'll tell you, with the long train ride home, it was the most relaxing I did in a very long time...It was also a time of self reflection and I did just that...I am the only person to blame for all of this, Too/too much smoking and drinking, so slap my self around and get back into shape! And Thank you all for needing me around, that and Thunder's I AM Strong, These words brought tears to my eyes and that of my Jacobs help, even when i get mad at him....So, when i wake, instead of a smoke, a quiet prayer of thanks, deep breathing and self reminder, This Is the first day of the rest of my Life! Betty, I was telling Linda Kay the other night, on the train ride, I was sitting, several rows behind a large group of Amish folks...They broke out in hymns, and i found it so soothing, I burst into tears! Everything just sort of hit me I was just overwhelmed with everything, I think God wrapped his arms around me that day, I and I am just ever so grateful for this, the only way i can give him Thanks, keep spreading the love and Behave myself...
As, for Huber, The young couple with a couple of kids has indeed made an offer!! DH and investor countered and now we are waiting, but, they will most likely counter again, and whatever that is I think will be a deal for all... around, so just keeping fingers crossed.
Sunshine, so glad your getting your last bit of warm stuffs done!! So far I've cleaned out and reorganized the greenhouse, got all the decorations put away...First time in along time I actually harvested some seed!!
Continue with the inside, Sun room is just about finished...and now im getting tired of Cleaning again, sooo
Craft table is getting cleared for the Christmas workshops, lots on my list!!
OMG, Betty, that was the one thing missing from Bronners, Where was Santa??? lol.
Ok, I better, get moving, been typing for a long time...
Enjoy the afternoon!
Judy, I am proud of you for getting down to 3 ciggies a day. I need to clean off my table, and find my sewing machine too. Why does the table always get piled with junk???
Debbie, sure hope she does not have momo, that can take a long time to get rid of. If she does have it, tell her to keep her distance, you all don't need it either.
Cookie, cleaning the pond seems like a big chore to do! Don't work too hard!
I heard on the weather channel, that if this hurricane goes north then west, the east coast is going to get hit hard, so make sure your all ready for a big storm! Praying it will go out to sea, and not hit the coast.
Just d-mailed Dianne Debbie, am sure all will be in order for Janice..you guys were suppose to keep me from screwing up lol drats, can only blame myself..know of anyone else I forgot??
Judy, you were just about to tell me about your train ride the other night when you called and Jake needed a ride so off you went. Sometimes you need something such as you experienced to bring him how lucky and how precious life is..as well the need to look after you vs. looking after everyone else.
Went to lunch, talk about a gorgeous day out there..sure hated to come back to the office.
Judy you say you are amazed at what I accomplish, remember one thing, I have no husband, no children at home, no commitments except those I make myself. Eating out and not cooking, not having dishes to do and very little cleaning, add on that I do projects at work, it's no wonder I get a lot accomplished..as well, I have always had great stamina, can start early morning and will work right to end of project without breaks.. so don't go by me
I was thinking as well LindaKay when I heard about the storm that hitting the north east coast that Barb could be in trouble..they also said our weather will have a turn for the worse as well..here's hoping another path will be taken.
We will be getting ready for Sandy over the weekend. Making sure everything is inside and nothing is loose that could become a projectile. It was only those two short years ago Betty that we were racing home from your house to get ready for Irene!!!! Hopefully it won't be as bad but they are saying we could get an lot of heavy rain and flooding. That is what did all the damage then....
Hi Judy!!! I'm sorry I missed your call the other night. I'm so PROUD of you with the cigs. I know you can do it. Could you d-mail your new number???
Debbie, please be careful if Shannon has Mono. It is highly contagious.
It's hard to believe Barb that it's already been 2 years since your visit..just goes to show you how quickly time if flying..
Shannon came home and I read all the papers. She has tonsillitis. BUT if the antibiotic doesn't have her feeling better in two days....he is pretty sure it is turning to Mono. I got the clorox wipes and lysol and have been on everything.
No way it has been two years since visit...thought was just one year in September. WOW Barb, it has flown. Stay safe! How is Norm doing?
Betty - WE'RE supposed to keep you on track? I don't think so.......... can barely keep up with everyone, let alone be your "memory" LOL
Well, 2 down, and 3 to go on my Round Robin centers...... best I get back at it (oh yeah, and have lunch - it's 2:30 and I just got back from Bible Study and getting milk at grocery store........)
Stay safe, Barb. Do you have sandbags? It's the rain and flooding and mud-covered floors that cause most of the damage when we have a tropical storm/hurricane.
Nieghbors Dana and Tom arrived back today with their dog Amiga who nipped my nose to let me know how much she has missed me.
I need to repair an escape route the dogs have opened up.
hugs, katie
Hope Amiga didn't nip too hard! So sweet when animals greet us after an absence.........
Lordy I smell of smoke..raked and burned for 1 1/2.. If I thought I was hurting before I was wrong, talk about bad shoulders. Need about 20 more hours at least of raking..not bad if it doesn't rain can do a bit in morning then at night it I'm afraid the storm is coming. Remind me next spring to cut down all the trees!! Too old for this.
Noah up the street was home from school today with migraine so I asked if there are any hours on the weekend that it's not raining and he's free I'll hire him..wasn't too interested, guess he doesn't need money right now lol
Nobody at Greg's..all working and things to do..could be hockey game tonight for my Noah and Mel is on afternoons.
Katie, hope you won't get an infection..guess Amiga just got too excited. Glad your friends have arrived for the winter.
In need of a hot bath, can't go to bed until fire is out..Judy, soon you will need to come and clean the burning pit!
Night everyone...if I don't fall asleep I'll drop in for the night shift.
Working from home so could sleep in a bit in the mornmg so could chat a bit
Betty, it sounds like you need some flexeril, it is a muscle relaxer, and it will make you sleep very well also. Don't fall asleep with the fire going please?
Linda I take Flexeril and it does help me. Not so much the sleep, but sure does the pain.
Not over the counter drug is it?
Wonder where our Mary is?
Here in the states it is by prescription only.
Your up late!
Mor ing everyone! Coffee is ready.
Morning.. Looks like rain out there
LindaKay went to bed just after 7pm and woke up just after midnight..didn't get back to sleep till after 3:00am
Didn't stop me from getting up early this morning. I've been to town, groceries put away, some raking done, few piles of leaves raked, returned a few business calls (they must be sleeping) maccaroni/tomato goolash cooking and sitting having 2nd cup of coffee
Only goal I want done today and it isn't exciting is to clean washroom, under washroom zinc cupboard, steam everything for germs in that room..anything else will be a bonus.
Was just speaking with Darlene, her mom is doing well, could be home if all goes well in 4-6 weeks. Best news is rehab in Penetanguishene so Darlene will still be able to visit on a daily basis. In the meantime she will prepare the lower floor for her mom and look for a home for her for the 3 months she is in Florida, likely Barrie so the sister who lives there can visit more easily as Sue does not drive..Darlene was in good spirits..worried about me now..told her there is no need!
Finish my coffee and see what else I can get into today that isn't too physical.
How about you all?? Anything exciting..here's hoping some of you will be around to. Keep me company.
Nothing exciting here but I actually slept all night. That is a first in about two weeks. The weather out there is sunny and very nice!
I haven't had coffee in a few days, might make some and attempt to sit on the back steps to enjoy it while it lasts. This storm they are saying is coming is
really riling people up.
Glad you had a good nights rest Debbie, enjoy one of the last sunny days..
Did you get the storm when it hit the time Barb and Norm were here. Listened to weatherman, storm seems to be weakening ??
I'm here, too. Just checking in. We're to get rain any time now and it is overcast, so probably will. You want to talk about leaves, Betty???????????? I'll trade you!
Gathered a lot of the garden art yesterday (the small stuff) and now if I can before the rain starts I'll get the big stuff put away.
Yesterday I was digging up the elephant ears and one is gigantic. I was having a little trouble with it so Tony (the guy who works for Bill sometimes) took the shovel away from me and started working on it.....well, bad news.....he hit the water line to the waterfall. So that will have to be repaired ASAP. Hope it can get finished before the rains come. :o(
I think when Barb & Norm had the storm, we just got a heavy rain. But they are saying a cold front coming from upper west is swooping....and will collide with this
hurricane front and cause the problems here. BUT the weather liars change the story every six hours what to expect. Hard to read Mother Nature...she changes her mind and changes the predictions.
Joyce, that doesn't sound like fun. Do you have to dig up a large bit of yard to do that? How are the kitties? Did you get them under control yesterday?
Oh no, broken water lines are not good! Hope it is an easy fix?
Ladies, if you run over the leaves with the lawn mower, they are great mulch for the lawn and gardens!
