Yep, that was brought up just yesterday (its Friday morning now).
If it's more convenient to meet 'central' for a mountain getaway, it would be nice. But I checked and some require reservations made months in advance during the peak season. Unless it's the off season, like in fall or winter, no problems there. Easy pickings in fact. That's why I suggest maybe in 2015, being 2014 would be at Sue's, we'd have a fall gathering.

Marion, it's all up to you. Choose the date at yours and Kim's convenience. Spring, summer or fall.. don't matter with me.

Mornin' everyone. Busy day today, hopefully I will finally manage to get my haircut rather than a trip to the hospital.

Had dinner with Abbigail and her dad last night...what fun!! Mom and Catie-Beth are in Tampa keeping the new cousin ( Sophia 5 mo. old).
Sophia's dad is a catcher's coach for the Detroit Tigers and mommy flew up to attend a game. Abbi was so animated and fun.....sometimes we don't see this side of her as CB dominates the scene! When we left I got a quick "grandma could you" from Abbi.....a new book she wants in a series. She reads non stop and yes, grandma went and got the book for her. :-)

Oooohhhh Marion, I'm so for the spring gathering at your house. Of course, I'll try to make it no matter when it happens. I think Sue is hoping to come as well.

I love the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. It's great for people watching, scenery and FOOD!!! ^_^

My dear Cookie, as stated before just as soon as the contractor (currently out of town on emergency) returns and finishes the dungeon, then my "backdoor" will always be open. Front door is for strangers!!!! Right now I would be hard pressed to sleep anyone. Of course part of my slowness with the room is the traveling I have been doing for the past 2 `1/2 years with Mom. No regrets on that.

I love Pigeon Forge....yes, the FOOD is something else!!!

Don't think this western Canadian would be able to come as far as Tennessee........ still 2 day's steady drive - how about WY or Montana? Montana is 7 hours and WY is 14 hours drive.
Unless I can afford airfare, it doesn't look like I'll ever be able to afford a Gathering.

Jaye, I put in some dates for the first week of April just to see what prices would be and I found one that sleeps 14 that was 390.00 per night.......lots cheaper than some of the others. If that is what the group would like to do, then we just need to keep track of off season dates (that is the way Kim and I did it in 2005) and go from there. Still time to discuss pros and cons.

Ah hem, well the southern people would have a similar drive to WY or Montana....so we just do the best we can. After all, a lots can happen in the next 2 years.

lol Marion - I was just teasin'! I know it would make No sense to have the majority of the peeps here drive all that distance. I was just pointing out to myself and anyone else that the chances of me coming to a Gathering is next to nil.

All the while I was really hoping to make it to Betty's, wishing that our circumstances will turn around.
But when the disappointment came, I'm not giving up on another chance. Marion's that chance, unless God has other plans for me.

Dreary, cold, rainy type a day, went to town, had to pick up few Christmas gifts while sale is on, did a local Legion Craft sale, didn't purchase anything, nothing I could make, some pretty sad booths to tell you the truth, got all my trick/treat supplies, now if only I don't get the machines, pop/chips and chocolate bars, all my favorites...someone should put them under lock and key, hey wait why bother, I'd be the one holding the key. Lol

Came home, put my Jammie's back on, I work best when I'm comfy..worked on Dil's Christmas table cloth, going to have lunch then have the steamer out to go over the entire washroom, had that to do yesterday but got sidetracked.
