Hello everyone, just a quick hello to let you all know I made it to Michigan just fine, it is cold here. 44 degree's, I am so glad my Sister has a coat I can wear?
Sue, sorry to hear your all sick. Hope our feeling better soon!
Sweet Interruptions #248
Glad you made it safely LK. Enjoy visiting with your Dad.......and excellent your sister can share coats with you! I would be out of luck with my sister.
Sue take care of yourself and family.
Sue, sending something with Joyce for you, don't let her forget..thunder, pkg coming your way as well!
Thank you Betty. have a GREAT visit with everyone, give them all hugs for me. sent you a d mail.
Morning, cold, wet out there but no signs of any white stuff
Will give and take hugs for/from everyone on your behalf.
Just doing a few last minute things and I'll be ready to leave on yet another adventure.
Had to laugh, last night I was booking accommodations in Buffalo for next weekend, havent even started this weekends adventure and already planning another. Lol
Enjoy your day
Morning everyone! Last night is was raining, and this morning it is icy! not a lot of it, so hopefully it will thaw out soon.
Drive safely Betty, I will see you in the morning as you will probably be sleeping when we get there tonight.
Somebody sleeps LindaKay??
Sure hope all works with out Judy..maybe with her stay in hospital Steve might be leary letting her come alone..let's hope that is not the case..
With her already having her ticket I'm sure nothing will stop her
I don't think much stops her when she has her mind set!
Waaaa, I want to be with you all!!!!!
Just spread those wings and fly Marion, you can do it!
Oh how I wish I could LK. Please don't let Judy overdo it and give a huge armwrap to her and all for me. Lucky ladies!!!!!
Carting books off to the church for their book sale tomorrow, then I go for my lung test (give a couple of hours after hauling books, of course), then it's "Pack up stuff for my sale tables".........
Going to be a busy day today.
I will sit on her if I have too! LOL! And I will give her lots of hugs!
keep her in line LK, and give her a huge hug for me.....well ya know hugs all around.....
Why is Judy in the hospital???
LK, good to know you're in Mi. safe. You'd be drinking lots of hot choco to keep you warm! Please don't sit on Sistah Judy.... you'd be cracking her bones very easily!
Sue, take care of yourself sistah. Like Marion said, Urban was UF's coach until he knows he can't have a winning streak with Tebow gone!
UF is part of SEC (like LSU and Bama) and had won 2 BCS (2006 & 2008) championships.
Hate to tell Tim this, Ohio is banned from the BCS championship this year. And not to make Sis Kathy angry.. it's Alabama that is still ranked as #1 in College football standings! http://espn.go.com/college-football/rankings
Yes, my LSU has dropped to #9 below Ohio... (WAAAAAAAAHHH)
Susan, hope your lung test comes out clear!
Marion, how's the spirit of your Noles. It's still too early to give up. At least you got a good QB.
Couldn't be on yesterday. Got very bad connections all day. It's been cool and then back to the 80s the past couple of days.
I'm glad that at least the blooming period for my gingers, clematis and brugmansias are extended.
Bought some overriped bananas, plan to make banana bread and freeze them! Wish me luck. Been a long time since I bake one.
Might get ambitious later on and do a beef stew in burgundy sauce.... it's easy to dream...
I was planning to make banana bread but my bananas disappeared. Me thinks Kim put them in the trash...will ask when she gets in from work. They get brown spots and she sees them...out they go. Gonna have to have a talk with that young lady!!!!!
Well Jaye, it is the usual griping here. Unfortunately the Noles do not take losing a game much better than the Gators do. I hate to say that but alas it is true.
I am not sure but I think Judy's hospital stay was high blood pressure related. Maybe someone will chime in who know more.
Oh how I hope my GDs return home today. I haven't seen them in 4 weeks and this grandma is having withdrawal pains...BIG TIME!!!!
The bananas were on sale for about 60 cents a comb. Around 6 bananas in each. Is Kim and Kel related?? Kel wouldn't touch a 'spotted' banana.
Fool refused to eat one, kept telling him that's when they're the sweetest.
But he'd eat a nana nut bread! Forgot to get walnuts, so would do that tomorrow.
I can't imagine a day goes by without your grandaughters hearing their favorite grandma's voice!
Your Noles are playing against Boston College on home turf this weekend. They'll be back to feeling #1 again!
It's the end of the world for the NegaTigers!! To lose to Florida is actually a wake up call on how bad our offense is! Well, like a mother who has retarded kids... guess I'll continue to love them!
We're playing against the Gamecocks and I expect a second loss... oh well.. like you've said, the game is cyclical.
ROFLOL not only will she not eat and throw them out with spots but will not eat nuts. That is a weird thing too as she loves boiled peanuts, pine nuts and edamame). I raised strange children for sure. Actually I guess they are soy beans but they still remind me of nuts.
I just took 2 banana bread out of the freezer - they're going on the Bake Table at our church tomorrow. I've got a couple of tables where I'll sell stuff too, for me.
Back from the lung test - seems to be clear, and when she had me use a puffer and take another test my lungs seemed no different afterwards.
I got a call from the Cardiologist and have an app't for Nov 29 at 1:30
wooohooo Susan!!! That's good news. May you have good news from the cardio.
Marion, I love pine nuts in hot mint tea (Moroccan style) and also in hummus. They're so expensive to indulge often :(
Glad to ear your test is clear Susan!
Jaye, Judy was admitted with very high blood pressure, she says she is doing better now, I will be picking her up at the Amtrak station in about 3 hours, then we are driving to Frankenmuth to meet everyone in the morning for breakfast. The big arm warps to all from all of you!
I'm to make an app't with my Dr after he receives the results of the lung test, and he should have them by next Friday. I hope they finally put to rest his idea that I have COPD cuz I DON'T! I really think it's from the asbestos floor tiles in my home in Winnipeg (removed about 200 sq ft of them) and also from the mould in our current home (which, thankfully, is now removed and new wall put up!).
I guess I'm just very sensitive to mould and asbestos! These have been the only times when I've gotten bronchitis, which I don't have now btw. I have the beginnings of "that cough" but am taking VERY good care that I don't get it again.
morning , wish those gals would get up and keep me company. Lol
Excitement has the best of me. Lol
To think, those sistahs are right next door, within reach of a 'knock, knock, knock'
Should I go and wake them up?
Susan, you are getting the once over, at least when the testing is all over you'll feel better knowing nothing major wrong and that you do too much...slow down girl, haven't heard you say you've been resting for ions..your body is now telling you who is boss!
Is it time to get up yet
Go wake them up, Judy and I are up, getting dressed, we will see you soon. What room are you in?
Judy, I've been praying for you sistah!! Let me be the only one to have bp problem!! You will take your bp med faithfully won't you?
And sistah.. yes I'm lecturing.. less ciggies please. I love you very much.
Betty, you're indeed so fortunate to be able to just pick and go!! Have fun with the sistahs shopping. Are you sure your new car will hold your shopping spree? Too bad, Sue can't make it there. I know she'd love you immediately!
Wish I'm there right now... but will see you all at Marion's.
LK, I got them!! Thanks!!! So kind of you sistah. Enjoy your stay with your dad and I know you'll take lots of pictures!
Nothing much going on today. Will be a football Saturday. Might just leave the house to get some nuts for the banana bread.
Did cook the beef burgundy early in the morning..around the time that Betty posted. Got enough onions for Kel to blast all day long.
Have a wonderful Saturday sistahs.
I love beef burgundy but haven't made any in ions!!! Might have to do some soon.
I am so wishing I was with the group this morning and yes, Judy, we love you but like Jaye, rethink the "ciggies". LK enjoy being with your Dad, that is such precious time at their age.
Football at 5:30--what will be, will be.
Good Morning Ladies,
Not much going on here....no riding lessons as my "teacher" has been sick again!!! He helped a friend with a pig roast last weekend and spent the whole week moaning and groaing with a chest cold. I told him "No more" everytime he helps this guy out with something he ends up hungover or sick.................
Taylor has soccer tournament today...3 games. But I am only staying for the first two. Going to Swabbie's for last Summer Bash with a really good band, and celebrating Sheri's bday (she's been sick since Tuesday)
LK hope you have a great time......................
We had a brea time in Frankenmuth! Lots of shopping, walking ans talking. I will post pictures when I get back gome, can't do it from my IPad, Betty or one of the others will be able to post soon I hope!
Jaye - that's Right........you're near Marion, so will be going to meet the "group"..........
wish someone lived near me.......... siiiiiigh
Jaye - rest? I don't think I've ever mentioned rest, so won't be any different now lol I had 4 hours sleep last night - went to bed at 2am, and Bob set the alarm for 6am......... dunno why........!!
woohooo... congrats for almost shutting out Boston College, Noles. I'm sure you're hoarse from screaming, Marion!
Well, LSU did a comeback. I was totally being negative when another O-line veteran won't be playing! But this young O-line truly protect the QB and LSU won by 2 points. How do you climb that staircase? One step at a time right?
Cindy, if I recall, you're very keen on natural herbs at one time. If you can get some Naouli essential oil, it might help Doug. When he starts having the sniffles, place one drop on the crook of his elbow. I've been doing this and it clears me up. Yep, if he keeps getting colds from helping the friend, good excuse not to help him. Maybe you both could start a catering company from your house?
No problem LK. I'll wait~patiently~ (honest)
Instead of banana bread, I made a Banana walnut coconut Bundt cake. Using a cake mix, less water of course, about 4 riped bananas, an extra egg... I managed to get one Bundt and 5 extra muffins. Kel surprised me by eating 2 muffins before he left. Cut up the cake, froze them.
Pretty proud of myself, since it's been years I've baked a full cake!!!
Going to bed happy now... have a blessed Sunday sistahs. Be safe on the road.. Betty.. LK... and company!
yummy sounding cake, Jaye!!
Well then, take a pillow and hit him Susan!!! What was he thinking? You sure need the sleep.
Hope you have a very restful one tonight.
I'm sure I'll have a quiet night's sleep tonight - thinking about going to bed now....... but Bob has some questions about the RP game he's playing - Skyrim. I'm going to do a "bit" of research on it and then "Off To Dreamland"......now, if I can only remember what I'm supposed to do on Monday....... something, I'm sure, and I've forgotten........ blech!
it is an early work day for me today, sistahs. Y'all be good and have some fun..........yes you can do both, LOL
somebody think of me while your stitchin'. I have not touched my machine in days !! I think I am suffering withdrawals !! may sew some tonight, certainly tomorrow.
it will be my day off, and I am going to refuse to go grocery shopping. one task I REALLY do not like. hubs like to do it, gets him out of the house. he is the cook anyways. so I think this week I will stay home and just let him go do it....yup that's what I am thinking..
Miss M says Y'all have a great day :)
so proud of bama. we won 42-10!
Kudos all around ladies, our teams won!!!! No, not hoarse Jaye, I don't get that worked up since Ross' death but do let out the occasional "wahoo". Was putting together a new Ott light while watching the game and was fussing I had to buy a new one. What gives with products anymore? They just don't last. Ross got me the old one atleast 30 years ago so it was still useful. :-) It was when they first game out, don't even want to think of what he paid for it then compared to what they are now!!!! Extremely heavy to boot......maybe Charles can fix it for me? Yes, I am a hoarder. LOL
Jaye the bundt cake sounds so good. No walnuts or coconut here as I am the only one who will eat it.. Now having said what I did about nuts......Kim boiled about 3 pounds of peanuts last night......go figure. Why that when she won't eat them in any cakes, cookies etc.
Oh my Thunder!!! She is getting so big!! Hey girl, if my hubby like to shop and cook, believe me I would let him do it all..........well provided I still had a husband. When you get your day off you do need to sew.....good for the soul, mind and body!!!!!
I could hear you yelling Jordan!!! :-)
Thunder, I agree she is growing so fast, and she is so beautiful! Don't work too hard!
What a sweetheart she is Thunder....
*(&^%@ internet!
Tried all day to get online, it's miserable when I'm anxious to know what the BCS ranking is for LSU!
Sis Kathy, Alabama is still @ #1, of course :P
Didn't go to church. Kel wasn't up to driving as he was too tired when he got home.
We have Maid M and Miss M...
Thunder, why is she pouting? Yep, she's growing up so fast.
You're so lucky!!! All Kel wants to do is veg and eat and veg some more. He can't be trusted to follow the grocery list, would only turn on the stove for pizza and hot wings.
Please tell Dave to give Kel some lessons!!!
I need an OTT light for sure!! Lucky you Marion.
Marion, peanuts are legumes. So, your smart Kim is telling herself, they are vegetables! I'll take some of dem boiled peanuts. The best I ever had was in Mississippi!! They were truly green and so sweet! When the season comes, me and ex would drive across state line just for some. Crazy ain't it?
Didn't sew today. But did cut more fan blades!! Crazy addictive pattern for sure.
By the way, I watched Phantom of the Opera, Albert Hall 2012 production while waiting for some i'net connection. It was spectacular!! Marion, Barb.. have you seen it. Told Kel that for Christmas, I want a DVD!
ETA: the show was on PBS!

Jaye, she was telling me " uhhmmm I don't think so" as I was telling her it was time to pick up some of the toys.....
smart little cookie, she does not say " no", very often as she knows Mom and Dad do not like that. Instead she says "uhmmm I don't think so".....or..........."not just now", and she says it ever so sweetly
If I remember correctly (which is not to often) she wanted to take out the blocks, and I don't let her take them out until everything else is picked up
You definitely need an ott light Jaye!!! they are fantastic!! Joann's has them on sale quite often at 40 - 50 % off
