TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I........just.........got..........given...... an elliptical! Our next door neighbours are 82 & 66 (she's got 2 artificial knees and he says he just can't Use it anymore), so they've given it to me for free!!
I'm not sure what to make of these past 2 days...... something's happening in my life......

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

BIG BIG HUGS to you Sue

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

OH Sue........ how very very awful for you! ((((((((Sue)))))))))
It is way too early for you.... frankly, I would wait a couple of Years.......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Heart just breaks for you.

Susan what is going on with you ? many many ((()))) to you sistah

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I think I would go to Wal Mart and get a few spiders or something like that, and decorate part of the gardens! I agree, it is just too early for you to be in stores like that! ((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))
Don't work too hard today!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning sistahs!

Sue, I'd be reacting the same way. Sometimes we just don't listen to ourselves for our own good. ((((((((((Sue))))))))))
I agree, make that trip to Cookie's on Halloween night. You need to avoid anything that would bring up bad memories.

Wow, an elliptical! You would enjoy that Susan, a very good aid for weight loss. I had one, enjoyed it more than the tread mill, until it went kaput. Certainly God's raining unexpected blessings on you.

Not this gal, LK. Only thing I'll do is to get treats ready. But there are no kids that ever come up here.. so I..nada.
Back in Louisiana, late MIL had a grove of tangerine trees. That's about the time of the year when they are ripe for the picking. You should see the kids' faces when ex' late Mum would put tangerines in their sacks!! Priceless!! Yep they rather have candy!

What's your project for this weekend Betty?

Mine is to finish up all the swaps and a special one for the PJ swap. Got to be gentle to my back, can't sit too long at the sewing machine.

May today be a good one for all my sistahs.
It's been good yesterday for us all, except for Sue.. praise the Lord, Sue, that you didn't get hurt when running out of the store in that emotional state.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Jaye, we don't get any kids here either for Halloween! Nice and quiet!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

What's going on with me, Sue? Well......
Keeping busy - have to clear the den this afternoon, because tomorrow afternoon we have a fella helping Bob fix the den wall, and Bob's computer and my sewing area are near the same wall
This am I'm going to Joanne's to get a lily from Carol's Garden
Tonight I get my elliptical
Tomorrow am we're doing the clean-up at the Church for the Fall Supper next Saturday
I got a call from an agency last night (just as I was about to leave for Choir Practice. He's going to put me forth to a company for consideration, and call me this afternoon to see if they Will consider interviewing me It's a tech/secretarial position
The wall and overhang are just about done outside - I need to go to a supply company and pick up some rolled roofing for Bob to finish the job.
I'm also waiting for a call from the Park supervisor about a key to the compound to put our "new to us" motorhome in. Shirley's a bit of a (dare I say it....yes I can) ditz and I'm not sure if she'll even remember to ask her DH - he's the one who looks after the compound.

Frankly, I have my good days and my bad days, but today's an "iffy" day. If I can just get myself "in motion" I'l be fine.
Starting out the day with a headache though..... having a lot more of those lately (past 2 months) but I know it's simply stress. With no $$ coming in on my end, except for about 4 hours of yard work, I'm not feeling like I'm contributing. We shall wee what the ph call this afternoon brings.....

Thanks for the hugs, Sue - much appreciated
Jaye - I now have to find room for the elliptical lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, you are one busy lady! Good luck on the phone call this afternoon! Praying it will lead to a good job!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Here's hoping you get the interview Susan, after all your spending you need a job. Lol

jaye, working from home today, not really working but getting paid to answer calls should I get any, so far 2. Lol. Busy though tie'ing Memory quilt I just made for Darlene a friend who lost her hubby at NewYears..used up his clothing to make it, hope that part is done tonight.

Leaving at 6am for Darien Lake NY with 4 grandsons in the morning, our annual get away..calling for rain but will make the best of it..imagine next week I'll be tired/tired

Enjoy your day everyone

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Urgently praying that you'd get a job soon Susan, to help at least with some 'luxuries' like more fabrics.

Betty, is this the same Darlene Mallet of Port Severn? I had sent her a thank you card a few months ago, she must not have got it.
Will send her another, am enjoying her cds still. Send her my love please.
Will love to see a pic of that memory quilt.
Enjoy your day tomorrow, and I know the weather will not dampen your spirits.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

lol "more fabrics" LOL

Thank Goodness Bob has a good paying job.... I may be able to stay home, and do more quilting LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'll ask her Jaye..I'm sure just a thank you to her from me on your behalf will suffice. Yes it is, Mike died at New Years..he is the one who taped the recordings for you.

Well, I'll be away two days with them..if not at the theme park then inside enjoying splash world..lol

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

lol you, at Splash World..... are you going down the water slide? (they Do have one, right?)

It'll be nice to park our RV in the compound, but first I want to clean it..... it's sincerely in need. Poor Helen, before she passed, could hardly see, and Peter is not a "cleaning fool" lol I'm sure it was more important to him that they enjoyed their camping experience. I, however, want to have it spic and span for over the winter's rest. It's been winterized apparently, so now we can just park it......
back to work for me......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Really is exciting for you Susan..

Susan your so busy. Anytime you need a hug you know who to call :) well i will have job prayers for you. SUre hope the job comes through for you.
have fun at the water park Betty. sounds fun
did 125 gals of cider today... i m pooped.
may be AWAL this weekend just need a quiet break

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I hadn't heard from the agency, so I called. He said the direct report wants to take a chance on me, but that their supervisor doesn't. Apparently there was an embarrassing issue where there was a technical error in a video conference. The person wasn't let go, but now they're shy about hiring someone they have to train into any technical part of the position. Anyway, he's going to try to "sell" me to them in a phone conversation, not just my resume, and will let me know by Tues if he's successful in "selling" me for an interview.

Sue - thank you - I'm a "huggy" person, and appreciate hugs ALL the time lol

I'm off to go grocery shopping...... cya later.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I will be AWOL till Sunday. My Garnddaughter Kailey is turning 13 Sunday, and I am going over to take her to Red Lobster. Then she wants a hamster for her present!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

The brain cells are drying up here, I did a really stupid thing yesterday. I got a phone call about a benefits card for medical and he asked me questions about address, etc. and asked for my bank name, routing number and account number. Not thinking that I shouldn't do this I did go ahead and gave it to him. After I got off the phone I really started worrying about what I did. I did check on my account and so far nothing was wrong, but called the bank and was told to come in and change my account. So today I did just that and had no problems. She cancelled out old account and gave me a new one plus my new debit card and even called social security to tell them of the account change because we have direct deposit. So many scams around and I'm afraid I fell for one. I don't think I should be allowed to answer the phone any more.

On a brighter note, we watched the 747 carrying the shuttle fly over southern Ca. and you wouldn't believe the people cheering

and shouting. It did make a pass over where a lot of space craft parts were made in Downey, which is about 5 miles from us. I heard the plane go over but didn't get a chance to go out and see it. It was an amazing flight to watch.

End of my book!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That much cider, Sue! You should be resting today!

Susan, I hope the agency has success in selling you. Sending good vibes the 'buyer's' way.

Enjoy yourself LK!

Pegi, thank God you called the bank right away. Anything confidential that's asked over the phone, that should raise a red flag.
Once I was asked over the phone, for my SS #, by the state govt. I was hesitant, and the girl at the other end said she only wanted the last 4 digits for verification. Only then I relented.
Yes, scammers should be hung!
Wow!! To be able to see that magnificent flight, amazing experience.

Morning sistahs. Hope your weekend is a good one.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

good morning - I had a great day yesterday - cleared the den so Bob & another fellow can fix the den wall, went to pick up a lily from Carol's Garden (my friend that passed in the Spring, and they sold her plants for a fundraiser for the Calgary Horticultural Society), got the key for the compound to store our "new to us" RV, Bob took me out to a steak dinner last night, then we came back to finish clearing out the RV to clean it for our use.
This morning I'm going to the church for our Fall cleaning bee (picked up some donuts for the crew), then in the afternoon a fellow from Alpine construction will be here to help Bob - hope the wall gets finished, it's 3 hours of work the fellow is here for.....
Busy weekend........
Monday a charity is coming to pick up some furniture, etc from the church (a friend of mine donated a couch & chair to the church, so we're donating the old set). Tues & Wed I'm going to orientation, etc for my job search. These two companies will help "older/disabled" people to find jobs, so I'm going each of the days to see what they can do to help me.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

boo hoo hoo. the game is on pay preview, so i cant watch it.
BUT my daughters friend has 2 tickets so she is going to the game, and i get to babysit.

boo hoo hoo

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sis you're not missing anything. It was PPV for us too last week. I didn't pay the $25. I followed it on the college website.
The guys that bought it were cheated as at exactly 10 p.m, in the 3rd quarter, it was cut off. Don't worry, Bama will win.

May BOTH our teams win, sis.

Susan, it's therapeutic that you state what you got to do, keeps you focus on the now. God always provide our daily bread.

Pffftt... the natives are restless!! Haven't fed them yet.. yah.. bad mama :D

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

they are charging 35 here, not going to pay that. and yes sis, may both our teams win

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thanks Jaye - some days therapy is Just What I Need LOL Someone has to work on my head, cuz sometimes I'm sure it's not screwed on tight LOL

spent day with Cookie. so i m pretty worn out.
we ate to much !
will report more tomorrow
good night

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Time to make Honey Butter Tarts for our pastor lol (actually, he'll share with the congregation, after service - Fellowship)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Susan, our church sure need your honey butter tarts this morning!! Especially after an inconsolable Clemson lost last night!!
Not me, I won't need any!! I'm one of the only 2 non-Clemson fans. Oops sorry.. I'm talking of college football!! Lol!!!

Marion, you should be happy!! That's an impressive win!! It was a no brainer there, the team performs as a team, not depending on a star, unlike Clemson. FSU should be ranked in the top 10..

Sis Kathy, if you watched LSU, wasn't it pitiful? The tone of the game was set by these things...dropped passes, penalties, turnovers..
I knew Mett will be tried again, but our OL is weak too!! If not for the defense we would be scrapped for sure!
Oregon will definitely be in the #2 slot.. I watched those Ducks, and they are something! It will be a tough year for us, but Bama will represent SEC.

Phew.. sorry sistahs.. back to real life.
Sunday is major worship day. Will be bringing along prayers for my sistahs that need and giving thanks that NOTHING major happen to any of you and may this be the trend for the rest of our lives.

Cookie, thank you so much for being there for Sue. You're so wonderful in ALL ways you know, not only a great chef!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning,

Just getting things together with 4 teens, after their busy yesterday seems they are moving rather slowly..guess these bits can't keep up with their gram. Lol

After rain off/on all day yesterday and me spending 10 hrs in cold damp weather it's sunshine today..one day too late.

Hotel here has indoor water features so will spend morning them slip, skidding and slides, go out for lunch..hoping to cross back into Canada about 1 then that should get us home around 3 or 4 then this gram will have her bath, jammies and into bed..

Memories were made though and it was nice hearing them go back through the years talking about all their grandma get always! Needless to say my wallet took a beating this weekend..feeding teens 3 meals a day, treats, theme park, suite ..might just have enough for quick stop at Joann's again..lol

Sue, so glad that you enjoyed your day with Joyce, so wish it would have been in the cards for you to drive up to Frankenmuth in a few weeks..but I'm sure at some point a road trip for you will come, long weekend in my neck of the woods.

Waving..hear the little ones chatting..water park opens in 8 minutes so best I edge them on

Betty i too wish i could make that trip.
sounds like your having a good time with the teens LOL to funny you run circles around them LOL love it.
what great memories you will have.
got 3 eggs under my white silkie
got two in the incubator
getting two new cochins in october and a new paint silkie. cockerel.
we are selling our two blue splash, she eats her eggs and the male is wanting nothing to do with her ? unless he is a " do it in the dark only " kind of guy ? i will wait until our eggs hatch or don't hatch. that will give me my answer LOL
i do have plenty of garden work to do
still need to catch the digging mole ? or what ever it is out in jessica's garden.
pretty muddy out there so i may not dig plants

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks Sue,

When I was on the farm we had a large incubator and I'd be the one looking after the hatching..loved putting them under the light to see if a little chick ie was developing and such a feeling watching them break through the shell..poor little ones were tired after that process..heartbreaking to see a few not make it!

Well, gang is ready to mike after much prodding. Lol

Can't resist this Sunday morning bible rendition

The Children's Bible in a Nutshell

In the beginning, which occurred near the start, there was darkness, and some gas. The Bible says, 'The Lord thy God is one,' but I think He must be a lot older than that.
Anyway, God said, 'Give me a light!' and someone did.
Then God made the world.

He split the Adam and made Eve. Adam and Eve were naked, but they weren't embarrassed because mirrors hadn't been invented yet.
Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating one bad apple, so they were driven from the Garden of Eden.....Not sure what they were driven in though, because they didn't have cars.

Adam and Eve had a son, Cain, who hated his brother as long as he was Abel.
Pretty soon all of the early people died off, except for Methuselah, who lived to be like a million or something.

One of the next important people was Noah, who was a good guy, but one of his kids was kind of a Ham. Noah built a large boat and put his family and some animals on it. He asked some other people to join him, but they said they would have to take a rain check.

After Noah came Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob was more famous than his brother, Esau, because Esau sold Jacob his birthmark in exchange for some pot roast. Jacob had a son named Joseph who wore a really loud sports coat.

Another important Bible guy is Moses, whose real name was Charlton Heston. Moses led the Israel Lights out of Egypt and away from the evil Pharaoh after God sent ten plagues on Pharaoh's people. These plagues included frogs, mice, lice, bowels, and no cable.
God fed the Israel Lights every day with manicotti. Then he gave them His Top Ten Commandments. These include: don't lie, cheat, smoke, dance, or covet your neighbor's stuff.   Oh, yeah, I just thought of one more: Humor thy father and thy mother.   One of Moses' best helpers was Joshua who was the first Bible guy to use spies. Joshua fought the battle of Geritol and the fence fell over on the town.

After Joshua came David.. He got to be king by killing a giant with a slingshot. He had a son named Solomon who had about 300 wives and 500 porcupines. My teacher says he was wise, but that doesn't sound very wise to me.

After Solomon there were a bunch of major league prophets. One of these was Jonah, who was swallowed by a big whale and then barfed up on the shore.  There were also some minor league prophets, but I guess we don't have to worry about them.

After the Old Testament came the New Testament. Jesus is the star of The New Testament. He was born in Bethlehem in a barn.(I wish I had been born in a barn too, because my mom is always saying to me, 'Close the door! Were you born in a barn?' It would be nice to say, 'As a matter of fact, I was.')

During His life, Jesus had many arguments with sinners like the Pharisees and the Republicans.  Jesus also had twelve opossums. The worst one was Judas Asparagus. Judas was so evil that they named a terrible vegetable after him.

Jesus was a great man. He healed many leopards and even preached to some Germans on the Mount.  But the Republicans and all those guys put Jesus on trial before Pontius the Pilot. Pilot didn't stick up for Jesus. He just washed his hands instead.

Anyways, Jesus died for our sins, then came back to life again. He went up to Heaven but will be back at the end of the Aluminium. His return is foretold in the book of Revolution.
