(((Barb and Norm)))
Marion...made your birthday cake and took it to the Hosta meeting. It was a great hit. There were a lot of desserts so I got to bring almost half of it back home...and I DID have a piece for you and a piece for me!!!! ^_^
Moxie got spayed today. She's really lazing around tonight. I imagine she's still trying to get over her anesthesia.
Gosh, so sorry to hear about your girls Mary....that MRSA is scary stuff!
Waving to all.....Betty, hope you're feeling better soon. Need to talk to you about "Snow Drops"
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends
((((((((((Barb & Norm)))))))))) so sorry to hear Norm's going through this yet again.........
of course my prayers, love and thoughts are with you always! Never be afraid to ask for prayers!!!
Evening all, Kyle just left, have a few minutes before heading to bed!
Barb, hugs for you and Norm, thankfully with the regular testing Norm has been having its been caught in early stages..you must both be overwhelmed..deep breath, the Lord has blessed him once before, now we pray he will do so again.
Drats, been laying here the past few hours and I'm smelling decaying mouse..that will teach me for leaving back door open for Missy and Riley to come in and out..Missy is a hunter so who knows what she has done with her find.
Joyce, snowdrops?? Is it the mommy kitty that got spayed..how was your visit with Sue?
Jean, great advise given to the kids..not all will ask though.
Debbie, looking at the weather for next weekend, know its still a week away..drats, calling for rain, can you do something about it. Did you get further results from the doctor? Any news about Cleveland. Ohh you really are serious to get the house in shape to put on the market..are homes selling in your area?
Great hearing Katie that you will soon venture home and are song so well..what did the doctor have to say.
Marion, will you be leaving in the morning to spend time wih your mom..
Mary, bet you are frantic about the girls...will the be coming home this weekend?
LindaKay, how's your dad...looked at the Joann's link, need a lot of white/off white for all these projects I've done..did the dreden plates, 36" + 4 smaller ones for table cloth or wall hanging, need the backing bit am not paying between $15.00-20.00 for one yard when I need about 12 yds .. Guess I'll stop off to Joann's next weekend before heading home. Have 11 blocks done for the memorial quilt..no way it will be done for Monday so a Christmas gift it shall be.
Waiting for Suzanne, I want to do to bed. Lol. She picked up the 10"1/2 hexagon template I had made..thought she would have been here by now..giving it another 1/2 then lights out. have company dropping in tomorrow and want to be rested.
If I've missed anyone please excuse.catch you in the am
Yes, Betty, I will be leaving in the morning and will stay until the end of the month. I will try to post when I can but it isn't always possible.
Barb, sending hugs and prayers.
So far Dad is doing OK. Waiting for his procedure to determine where the blood flow stops.
(HUGS) LK for your Dad...
(HUGS) Barb for Norm... Hopefully they caught it early...
I love you all for setting me straight on the staph thing... I was taking it a bit too lightly now that I'm informed I see it can be serious...but my friend should have probably realized it is probably in the dorm...
Thanks to all your advice I have now Lysoled as much of the house as I can think of. Perhaps care packages to the girls with germex and Lysol (can't mail aerosol so will think on that)
Maybe I'll go on Amazon and see what they have.
Thanks LK for the update on Crissy. she works so hard.
Betty sure hope the girls aren't coming home LOL ! Wait till they get these infections behind them... I'm so excited for the boys trip. You're right... if it is the last one there can always be one on one trips with the boys...
Hubs working in Lafayette tonight and DS has gone to his GF's house so I am all alone which seems rare but may begin to be more frequent.
Do ya'll think I should tell DSD's to get the Staph shot I see available at the pharmacy ?
Hugs all,
Mary
Well, he's not getting worse then..that a relief LindaKay!
You sure have put the miles on Marion this past year..how many times have you been down?
Suzanne just dropped off template..I ordered one, $18 but there were 2 in the package..strange
The Larry, car salesman dropped in (friend), had a calendar made with my photo next to the car I just bought with a thank you across the top, at least I think that is what it says. Lol
So this time I really am gong to bed
Have a safe trip Marion...and a nice, pleasant visit with your Mom.
Yes, Betty you are right that some are not gonna ask anybody for advice. More's the pity. I always tried to instill in my kids that questions were the guideposts for civilization....and watching the world around them would lead them in the right direction. The result? As they grew up, I took them to the library with a list of their questions so we could find the answers to the ones I didn't know or wasn't sure of. I also made sure that they knew that the only "dumb" questions were ones asked to be funny or rude or mean...or maybe just a bit of sarcasm. At the very least, they all learned when and where to look for answers....and how.
Meant to say thanks about update on Crissy..sure hope she can find piece at the apartment..takes so long for the courts to review everything doesn't it.
Mary, would love to provide advise about staph infection but know nothing about nothing when it comes to health issues,Lordy I'm lucky if I even know whT side my heart is on..the girls on this thread are always so well informed, we are blessed with their knowledge!!
Do you good Mary to be on your own, enjoy!
Sure wish more kids were raised as you raised yours Jean! Everything moves so quickly now and with computer age kids feel they know everything,
Hi Mary. I think you should contact your family doctor (the DSDs doc) and ask for recommendations on the STAPH shot. They may have health considerations and the DRs at the univ clinics don't have their med histories do they? Any Dr can treat a basic staph infection but vaccinations require a little info.
I have NEVER heard of a vaccine for staph. Nothing at all! There is one for meningitis prevention at colleges, but that is entirely different.....and then the flu.
Lysol is liquid, but is Germex aerosol?
Germex is liquid also. Lysol comes in a spray form for germs and liquid for mopping and bathtub surfaces.
I was wrong about the staph vaccine....there is one!!!
http://abcnews.go.com/Health/story?id=117950&page=1#.UFKC8o2PWSo
Really interesting..I use Lysol spray but perhaps should be more diligent spraying.
Noah just called, excited about buying a pocket bike..imagine
Another thing to worry about, his breaking his neck..said he'd be over on Sunday and I can try it out..game for anything but I doubt it

Debbie, he asked if the park closes when it rains or are there things they could still do?
Thanks for the link, off to read up on it
I would suggest that you Google staph immunization. It gives a ton of pro and con...then talk to your doctor.
Debbie, check the date on that link....it says Toronto Sept 19. I think there is some more recent discussion on the vaccine.
Yes I saw the date, and there were many back as far as 2002.
Made a "note to self" to ring their Pediatricians nurse tomorrow to ask about the Staph vaccine...
THANK You !
Jean - that's a wonderful way to raise children. Seems raising mine has been just a blur... work work work....
Hi - 1am, and I can't sleep.......
Anyone else up?
Morning,
Starting the morning with prayers for our friends Norm and Barb...
Susan, we must be taking turns with 'no sleep' syndrome ..hope you get to sleep in this morning. Slept half decent last night!
Marion you will be up early and on your way..safe travels
Got to get moving, working from home today, Dianne is coming for a visit so need to rush to Foodland before my shift starts then will spend what else of the day there is left sewing..no way will I have Mike's blanket done, wish you who sew lived closer and could help. Lol
See you in a bit
Norm and Barb - holding you close to my heart. Huge armwraps as Judy would say! Whatever you need - be it a phone call or a cyber hug don't hesitate.
BBL - Diesel my newly acquired sleeping pill was not effective last night - in fact I didn't sleep at all. Diesel did!!! I think I might lay down for an hour and give my eyelids a rest.
Dianne
Morning everyone!
Sorry to hear you ladies are not sleeping well, sounds like a nap is in order!
Betty, I wish I was closer to help with the sewing!
Hi there Dianne, so hoped Diesel would do the trick..perhaps Quill is sleeping better because of his new playmate. Could it be the pain from the dental work that is still acting up?
Linda, would have been wonderful to have you here, coffee in hand and designing Mike's quilt. I cut out the Xmas tree runner this morning before heading out for groceries..will attempt to take a few minutes to sew one area, me thinks either I or the cutter of template made an error..hexagon has all sides same size right? Hmm hopefully now that I cut this 1 hour project it will work
Almost finished my cereal, raining, sewing day it shall be
Moxie is the little calico kitty from her last litter. Can't get mama spayed until the kittens stop nursing, then have to wait two weeks for her milk to dry up. They turn 8 weeks old on Monday.
Betty, you are correct, a hexagon has 6 sides, all the same length! Who messed up? Hope it is not too bad?
So you've yet another Joyce to bring to the vets then hopefully unless the young ones start having kitties you will be all set...8 weeks, soon time to decide what shall be done with them..hmmm wonder what your choice will be..
Ahhh yes, a month this weekend and we'll be gathering once again..just cannot wait!
LindaKay template is definately off..will do some measuring tonight and see how we went wrong..but, must say only by a scant amount..because I'm using the template I'll know how to adjust.
Finished except for border and larger star (want them in same xmas fabrics the runner..as least the insert..boy oh boy, sure going to have a long list for Joann's next weekend
Dianne is on her way, I'll NOT clean the craft room, she's a crafter and I know she'll be ok with tornado alley lol
here are 3 tables..
1. set some red to see what the border would look like in red..not sure, might have
be green..
on the right of the table are the Memory Quilt blocks I'm doing for Darlene in
the crazy quilt pattern..Missy thinks it's a good idea to make sure I'm working,
thing is she's sleeps, makes me tired
2 Table #2 holds unfinished projects waiting for fabric..might have enough for
backing should I run out of something to do
3 deciding what background fabric I should purchase for the dresden
plates, can't be too busy so either off white or beige
So you see, I don't have to leave the house, can sew/sew/sew
We won't even get into the blackboards I have sitting to finish to bring along a few for those coming to Frankenmuth..only a few didn't get them..LindaKay there was one for you at Joyce's, took it home, did I ever sent it to you?
last photo
table #3
Lovely, lovely....
Looks like you will busy for awhile! Maybe a soft gold will go with the Dresden plate?

got to sleep about 1:30/2 am, and up at 8:30 - late for me
I'm off to do some pruning for a friend of mine (she's paying me!!) and just had my shower, so will play a bit first lol
Thanks LindaKay, think I shall bring one of the smaller ones with me on the weekend so I can match at Joann's. Nice soft colors..they would match nicely.
Dianne just left..bad enough 5 tables are filled with projects we too out the cut wallets and went through what to do and not to do. Lol. She tbrought fresh blueberry muffins, still hot out of the oven, talk about yummy. Got caught up on our lives..
Still raining, talk about cool and damp, fireplace on, put heater on in the craftroom, might even get into my Jammie's, always work better when I do so..
Susan, glas you are making some $$$ ..you should have cleaned yourself up after you do the pruning and not before...
What is everyone else doing?
Looks like I have missed a lot while being busy and traveling these past weeks.
Betty, so sorry to hear about Sailor. Jonathan had such good time with her on our visit. It was fun to see her bring her ball near him and drop it to wait for him to throw it for her. I know the hurt in your heart when we lose a long time friend.
Barb, I hope by now you have had good news concerning Norm's condition. They seem to have caught it early so the treatment can begin early, too. It seems that getting old also means seeing doctor after doctor. I hate it but would rather know when something is wrong.
I am getting things together for the Nov 1 here at the Center. My quilt club is taking a booth and they appointed me chairperson. I also am making things to sell. Lets hope they do sell!
I am also working on my daughter's quilt. I wanted it done for her birthday in late Oct. but that is not going to happen. I was gone over Labor Day and now leave for New Hampshire a week from tomorrow, followed by another weeks trip to Harbor Springs, Mi. That gives only three weeks before the Bazaar!
WHERE DOES THE TIME GO!
you have indeed been busy Janice and still busier days ahead of you!! Quilting club could not have picked a better person..bet you were sitting in a corner with head down saying don't pick me, don't pick me. Lol and yet they did!!! Lol
Here's hoping the sale goes well and you'll have extra $$$ to replenish account..know a lot of travelling alone or with family can put a dent into it..but sooo worthwhile. sorry to hear that not likely Stacey with all her pregnancy issues will be able to travel with you..she and the baby come first!
As for you daughter's quilt, there is always christmas
as you've probably read lindaKay will be visiting with her dad and will be meeting up with some of us in Frankenmuth..will you be home by Oct 13th to join us for the day??
Thank you for kind words, yes sailor had a lovely visit with Jonathan..likely the last time she really played ball was with him
Having pea soup, smiling at my day..company, work, crafts..ran out of space so am positioning blocks of the memorial quilt on the floor to see how I will set the quilt blocks...too many irons in the fire I would say.
back from pruning - Barb (my church friend) paid me $20 for helping her, AND made me soup & sandwich (she makes her own soups - yummm).
I'm "off" to pay Peter the 1st instalment for the Camper!!
Betty did the doozy of the storm hit your area? Wow!!!!!! Lots of T and L plus heavy, heavy rain for about 2 hrs and it stopped as quickly as it started. Don't think it is finished with us yet though. How about you Debbie, Thea?
Excellent Susan that you are off to pay Peter the first instalment. I love homemade soup. Never had a can of soup until I was in university. Yep I sure did lead a sheltereed life! lol
Crissy how are you doing sweetie? I think about you every day and hope you are being given a chance to get your life back together.
Well I have decided that Diesel s a much better sleeping andedote than all of those meds the doc was trying out on me. He and I even had an hour nap this afternoon. Good heavens that is unheard of for me!!!! Rest yes. sleep no.
T and L kicking up again so I best shut down. Sweet dreams everyone if I don't get back.
Dianne
holly, Jeff just called to ask where we would meet up tomorrow morning so I could take the boys to Darien Lake?? Hmmmm unless I screwed up its next weekend..just checked Darien Lake, closed for this weekend, wiping my brow, Lisa must have misunderstood..now I've got to check hotel reservations, he's got me 2 nd guessing myself..
Ann, myself and Darlene were going out for supper tomorrow night, horse races and casino..had the next 5 weekends booked, tight squeeze, would hate it if I scheduled wrong. Lol. Usually I'm good at these kind of things.
Dianne we had heavy rain most of the day..took a ride to Walmart and it was sunshine..within 1/2 hr it is clouding over..no thunder or lightning yet. Nice to hear you are having naps with Diesel..maybe it's his heavy breathing doing it, breath in, breath out lol. Pea soup I had, habitant, almost is as good as the homemade pea soup, it enough of a difference to have me cooking it..sooo lazy aren't I?
Dianne, did I tell you the chip truck is no longer across from Tim Hortons. Meaford in 2 weeks..know it's special to you..
1st payment Susan..oh happy days..it will be ready for you to drive for next camping season. $20 and lunch, can't beat that
Peter said it's all cleared out, and he'd drive it over to our place but would need a ride back lol I told him Bob could drive it to our place :-)
I'm going to get a spot for it in our park's compound first. $50 refundable deposit for the key to the compound needs to be paid first.
