Morning...raining in my neighborhood..mind does funny things, Sailor would fret at thunder and storms and would try to get under anything she could find. I always set a chair near the cupboard that held my stained glass so she wouldn't dump it over..this morning without thinking did the same. Old habits die hard don't they.

I truly and impressed..the rollers are only 48" wide but he says in his video and instructions that a trip to home depot you can purchase tubing to fit any width of quilt. Next purchase will be for a double size..should be more than $20 or so for tubing. Not this week though, already spent my fortune..lol bad weekend for bank account.

Called mom this morning as she wanted me to price out hotels for her and Jim in Clearwater Fl. over Christmas holidays, decided I'd tell her about Sailor before someone else did. She just said you had to do what you had to do!!!

Have the girls today (Bryn and Emma). Had to make a run to Walmart for kitten replacement milk. Lost the little black kitten overnight. I just don't think she's making enough milk for 6, 5 week old kittens. We're especially worried about the runt, as the bigger ones just push her out of the way at feeding time. She is soooo tiny. I couldn'[t get her to take the kitten bottle, so finally I poured some in a lid and she did lap some up, so maybe she'll be okay. I knew the little black kitty was weak. I held it for quite a while while it slept last night. I guess I should have moved earlier on the replacement milk.....sigh....so far, Mama cat hasn't missed it. I guess when you have that many you don't realize when one is gone.

We're getting a nice rain here. Hope it keeps up, cause we surely do need it. The hostas are melting away and the ferns are looking sad, too. They had called for 90's today, but now they're saying 82. Much better.

Betty, hope you're doing okay. You need to get some good sleep. Put your head down on your desk and put up a do not disturb sign!

Betty, I will play the hotel by ear, as I will have dad with me, if it looks like he is getting tired, then I will book a hotel when I am there.

Joyce, I'll book a hotel at Birch Run, only about 15 minutes or so from the hotel, won't be far from Cracker Barrel for breakfast.

Sorry to hear about the kitty, they are so adorable, with so many I'm sure was extra difficult for mom to feed all..remember having to feed goats with the bottle every couple of hours, a commitment for sure. Let's hope all others are ok.

Joyce, just talked with my sister who lives in Arcadia just north, north east of Cape Coral and they are getting rains....plenty as Sue says she is sitting on an island. Her yard is so saturated that this rain has starting to stand only leaving the area where the house is up higher. As of 11am she said they were not under an tornado alerts but was having some wind. Don't know about the situation in Punta Gorda...need to call the nursing home to check and get a message to Mom that Kim and I are fine. Sending prayers anyway!!

Joyce, must be Octoberfest in Frankenmuth, tried a few hotels and at least one of the days are already booked so I'll continue the search and book today as to avoid going and no rooms

Joyce, called America's Best Value Inn in Birch Run directly, was able to get a room
I will leave here directly after work at 3pm (Oct.12) so likely not get there until 10:30 pm or so unless I can talk boss into letting me leave a little early and will leave for home Sunday morning.

Okay, I'll plan on being there sometime in the afternoon, Betty. I'll check us in if you'll send me the address so I can GPS it! Getting excited!!!

There was no work to do this afternoon (did moving of binders, filing, etc in the am, then NOTHING). I was told by Darla that if there was nothing to do, just go home - this was over a month ago, but heck, I Went Home lol
btw - I got an email from the agency saying next week they will cut a Bonus Check for $2/hr for each hour I worked! I was only there for 2 months, and they'd said 4, but who's arguing?!?! Not Moi!!
They're looking for work for me after the long weekend, so I'm hopeful.

I have my Nook charges with books, books in the bookcase if power should go out. If it does, I have some cross stitch pieces I might work on or better yet....just nap in the rainy weather. If it is just heavy rains and we keep power will most likely sew some and continue sorting out some things I want to dispose of. Or nap.

Should have thought about looking before I bought the battery..not smart am I?

I don't think Sue can come, LK. She starts working for the apple guy after Labor Day and she said she'd probably be working until Thanksgiving because the apple crop is so good this year. I'll mention it to her, but when I asked her about going to Betty's during that same time, she said she couldn't get out of that work.

Maybe Joyce seeing as there is no need for passport she might squeeze it in..let me know..

Say the bag I had set aside and lo and behold, the battery charger but no cord..the lady at the camera shop was telling me you can buy a stick that the
memory card and fits into computer..no aggravating cord soooo will check that out tomorrow then see if the camera takes better photo's

Betty, you still have your kitties! It has been several months since we lost Karoosh, and we still save a small bite of food on the side of out plate for his treat! Now we give it to our parrot! it is a hard habit to break!

Mary - how are things weather wise for you? Sounds like Wed is going to be a dilly in your area once again. Sending positive thoughts you and your loved ones will be out of harm's way. Give me a good old fashioned snow storm any time! Right Betty ?

Thought I had a handle on this sleep thing but it has all gone out the window this last week again. I was getting about 4 - 5 hours aleep a night but am back to 1 or 2. Need a giant switch to turn my brain off. What is it with us Betty?

How is your headache Betty? Did you get in touch with your neighbour about the lawn mower? I have only had to mow twice this year although it is starting to look like it needs a trim. Today's rain has really greened up the grass. The jeep ride sounded like fun.

LK were you able to get everything tidied up from your accident? Still experiencing aches and pains from it?Sure hope not.

Wow Labour Day weekend already! Anyone have special plans for it? The lake has been so quiet this summer I hope it will get some use on the weekend. No one tubing, no jet skis not even plontoon boats. Several people have mentioned it was just too darn hot to be bothered going out.

Susan glad you and your DH were able to get away this weekend. Understand your dislike for the late night revellers. Don't mind them partying just want them to keep the lid on noise wise.When we travelled with the SG business we always asked to be away from any visiting sports teams. It was never the kids who were the problem it was their drunken , rowdy parents. My goodness if some of those children acted out in front of their parents the way the parents were acting I am sure heads would roll. When you travel alot you get a list of Not wanting to be near like the ice machine, the elevator. It got when we called certain hotels for reservations they already had our Wish List on file. lol

Big puppy eyes looking at me - guess I am late for dinner. Better go feed that growing little guy.

You're right LK and Betty, it is very hard to break a habit you have established in your daily rountine.Every night I still set out a glass of water no ice on Warren's side of the bed, I plump the blanket where Stormy slept and put his bowl of water there as well as setting up Quill's pillows. I imagine it will be a long time before I break some of those routines.

Well, quite the day today - I got to work, there was nothing to do but filing (3 files) and put 2 inter-office envelopes into the mail, pack up some binders, and my desk (they're moving whomever gets the job to another desk).
When I was finished at noon, I told the manager (my boss, the director, wasn't in today) I was leaving, so she must have told HR that as there was no work that today was my last day. I just got the email from the agency saying they didn't know what was up, and for me to call........

Diane same here for boats on the water, very quiet, infact Greg made it in a day from Bobcageon to Port Severn..normally the Trent locks are so busy it takes at least 2 if not 3 days..think not only dispute to heat but price of gas..see it was up by 3 cents from just this mornimg.

Thanks for the well wishes.... we are required to go into work tomorrow but they will let us off around 11am they said... then we won't be required to come in Wednesday.

The girls will be safe and sound in their dorms in Lafayette and Natchitoches.

So I'm home alone... Hubs brought a generator to his parents after work and DS is "working out".

Feeling a little miffed... I suppose they think I'm in charge of lugging all the yard furniture pots, etc. to safety ?

I think not LOL ! everyone is chatting about empty shelves at the store, gas stations are out of gas. (Took me a few stops to gas up today)

Seems a lot of uproar to me... it's only supposed to be a CAT 2. Katrina was like a "5" I believe... hoping Jean will correct me on this.... They do say it is a large storm.

No, I was not there last year. Judy and I will be driving in with Dad on Saturday,,and depending on how tired Dad gets, will determine if we get a room or not. It is only a two hour drive for us. Maybe we can all meet for Breakfast at Cracker Barrel, and go from there?

Yes they make the breakfast casserole and it is so good! The one with hashbrowns right? I have never seen a omelette on the menu, probably because I always get Uncle Hershel's! lol
