Yikes, that means I'd have to be home to receive it??
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends..
Do you have a tracking number Betty? I get a lot delivered by UPS and I can track it through the number I was assigned. It will or should tell you when your parcel crossed the border, what truck it is on and when to expect it.
My sweet SIL lost her battle with lung and brain cancer this morning around 4 am. She was in hospital in Oshawa.I didn't go up to Oshawa to see her once she was in hospital - she didn't really want company. When we spoke on the phone last week she said she was ready to pass that the way she was living was no way to live. She was 81 and felt great right up until this last month. They were giving her morphone for her breathing as she said she felt so little pain. She is the one who saw/nursed both her DH (Warren's DB) and eldest son through the same cancers. She knew what laid ahead of her - that must have been so hard for her.
Crissy good to see ya gal!
Katie good for you!!! Sending positive thoughts that you continue to heal well. I know you are but I will remind you again "Do your exercises every day!".
Dianne
Sorry to hear about your SIL Dianne!
Betty, yes I will try to find a room near the mall, but I need to look around on Google maps, and see what is available. I will stay the night till Sunday morning. I think it might be too much for shopping all day, then drive back home. But will play that by ear. Judy will be traveling with me, so I will see what she wants to do? She is going to come to Grand Rapids by Amtrak on Friday, I will pick her up, she will spend the night with me at my Sisters place, then we will drive to Frankenmuth Saturday.
UPS will either deliver to the house or to the UPS pick-up site, which is a UPS office kind of like the post office. They won't deliver to the post office because they're not affiliated in any way, they're competitors and are two different postal companies. The other postal companies are FedEx and another one I haven't seen any trucks for in awhile, I'm wanting to say DHL or something like that.
Oh Dianne I am so sorry to hear this news, big hugs! I bet that was hard for her. Good to see you too!!!
Betty I wouldn't ask your mom to take care of Sailor, not only will it probably prompt her to getting another dog which neither one of them need, but if Sailor got stove up or something there's no telling what might happen as your mom is in no shape to move that big of a dog. What happened to Cathy anyway? It seems like she just dropped off the face of the earth.

My condolences Dianne on the loss of your SIL..after caring for and seeing her loved ones die a bit each day I can understand her wanting peace for her and what family remains..sending hugs as I know you need them...snuggle up to the furries and let them know you need kisses!
Drats, notice on front door, missed delivery..now have to call in the a.m.
Doors were open, could have just thrown it in. Lol
OMG OMG. I am so laughing..for those who visited my house you know that just beyond my tree line is a variety store and pizzeria right?? How many steps would you say it is??
Kyle is here helping me do a movie type program of my trip south, wasn't sure how to put music reflective of the cities we visited, so being the nice grandma I am gave him money to get us something to eat at pizzeria..I'll go grandma he says, omg he starts his jeep and goes there..imagine that!!! 30 second walk and he drives..top is off, looks like a convertible jeep and he wants everyone to see it I guess...ah to be young again..shaking my head!!
OMG Betty now that is funny! He drove 30 steps, he could have got there faster by walking!
But he wouldn't have looked nearly as cool walking up to the pizzeria.....grin
Dianne - so sorry about your SIL. She obviously was ready to go, and was tired. She's with the LORD, and out of pain.
Oh Dianne, I'm so sorry about your SIL. She is now at peace and with her DH and I'm here hoping she didn't suffer. Sending my love to you.
Betty, that Kyle is a trip that's for sure.
You are right about "looking cool" lol
He will learn the hard way when he has to dill that jeep
Stayed long enough to show me a few things, said he'd be back for the music entries
(((HUGS)))) Dianne....
So sorry for your loss...
LK - try www.tripadvisor.com ?
Sure hope we don't get Isaac here... we've had our unfair share of rain...
Betty - take care of yourself lady ! You do so much... not too much to just check in with the Dr... ?
TOO funny about Kyle... He's really enjoying that license !
(HUGS)
Mary
I sure hope somewhere in my posts I didn't give everyone wrong impression of
being I'll...I'm A ok!
Mary, must tell you that tonight I've been working on a film re photo's and I was smiling big time, wheni look at our meeting I'm thinking, who would ever seeing us would think we had never met...was the highlight of my trip!!
Then the night beforemlastmi worked on Sistah's gathering, so much friendship...I can only say I have been blessed by the Lord, few find such treasures in people as I have
With that I shall call it a night and in my prayers shall remember eachnand every one of you..you are indeed my earthly angels!
OH ME TOO Betty ! ((HUGS)) Big time... would NEVER have thought of you coming SO close and not hugging you in person.... I think it was probably 5 years ago or so that you all welcomed me into this group.... or rather I abruptly decided you would allow me access to this group ! LOL....
Please tell Kyle to post the video on Youtube so we can all watch it... Can't wait to see it !
My beautiful bag is on my dresser still.... I can't wait to use it !
(HUGS) so glad I got to hug you and Suzanne in person... we talked and talked .... Betty you have put together a wonderful support group of friends..... and I am so glad to be a part of this group !
well, water's being shut off again on Monday - 8 am to6 pm. They found 2 more water leaks, and are working on them over the weekend, starting Sat 8am
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY I'm going tenting this weekend, so won't be home for the majority of it LOL
Geesh, what is causing the water leaks? Hope they fix them quickly! Have a nice week-end!
Thanks LK - We sure will - at least we're assured of being able to have showers.......... and clean running water
Mary, love your neck of the woods and as a bunts now have a cherished friend there!
Guess the park is aged Susan and once pipes are repaired then pressure put back on the next series if pipes burst. Have fun camping, if your weather is anything like they are calling for here you'll have a marvelous time.
Morning everyone! Looks like Betty was up early?
Morning, yes couldn't sleep..vacuumed, washed floors, cleaned out refrigerator, note to self, buy what you need through the week, lordy i threw out soooo much, just wasteful! Then into town early for a FEW groceries, mostly for furries before the masses are out shopping for school supplies. A quick drop into post office to pick up quilting frame, now watching DVD they send re quilting set up process..if it works as good as they say I'll be thrilled and it's not 9:00am yet !!
Going to be a stellar weekend, weather just about perfect. Saw a self propelled lawnmower while shopping, mine is off timing, likely not worth fixing, almost pulls my arm out of socket so got to do something..Greg has an extra one from Jeff and says he will bring it over but might save $$$ now while they are trying to get rid of them before winter. Oh what to heck, should call them to deliver it!! Bite the bullet..
So now I told you all what I'm up to, what are your plans for today and the weekend, hope more interesting than mine.

Just a lazy quiet week end here! No plans!
Mornin' coffee for now then the usual chores of picking up items in the house. Every now and then take a peek at the weather to see what Isaac is going to be doing. Ha! as if anyone knows at this point.
Must be terrible waiting and watching for what might or might not come Marion!
Lindakay, those kind of days are the best..
Called and asked Timbrrr Mart to deliver lawnmower..said they would try for today opif not then tomorrow..called Greg to ask if he had time after work if not delivered could he pick it up...got the 'mom, told you Jeff's I have is self propelled, why are you buying one when I said I'd bring it to you? Sooo call and cancelled the lawnmower for now until I see just how good the one Greg will bring...
Then went through sales flyer, haven't been to Canadian Tire in so long, it was always my first thing to do on a Friday..they have a push vaccuum which mulched/bags leaves..anybody have one?? Worth getting?? You can tell I'm bored, I shop when bored..better move my butt and I won't be bored! Lol
Guess I should get another burst of energy..went and lit firepit, much still damp, have to wait until its dryer I guess..so now where do I start?
Betty, it is just what we do when you live in Florida. No need to stress, just make sure you have what is needed just in case. Now watching the new college students who just arrived in town on Wednesday is another story. "Oh a storm, better stock up. Beer...check, chips...check, beer...check. Maybe we should add another case of beer" It is it's very own comedy indeed.
Kim and I always have our important papers together plus most items on disc. Just buying some bottled water in case. Mostly if we don't buy some now...it will be gone by Sunday. Got a good supply of books, everything has new batteries, plenty of food and necessaries for the 4 legged critters......so we just watch and continue on with life.
So can relate to the lawnmower. I have a very small area that needs mowing (not counting the leaves I mow to keep the skitters down) and have a nice self propelled mower but is it at my house? NO!!! Son borrowed and forgets to return it.....guess he is on my call list today!
Good morning everyone! Well the gal I'm staying with has her house in escrow and is moving most of her stuff this weekend, including the washer and dryer. I can't move into my apartment until at least the 1st of the month, actually it'll be the 2nd because I work 10 hours on the 1st, so ppppffffftttttttt there are only 5 towels in the house, I brought enough clothes for 4 days, the rest of my stuff is somewhere in storage, so between working 6 days a week 12 hour days I'm going to have to find the time to go to the laundromat.
Betty glad you're feeling normal, yeah when you quit working on Fridays you quit going to Canadian Tire. Bet you've been saving some money too! LOL!!
Self propelled mowers are awesome, I haven't pushed a mower very far in a long time, my lawn at my house requires a riding mower and the apartment won't require a mower at all :)
Marion seems you've all under control with fixings you need especially n the beer department. Yes, it's often I'm looking for a tool and it's at Greg's...something wrong with the picture when mom has more tools than the son's..going to have to get a 'checkout/check in' book..amazing how many times I heard but I brought it back..should spray paint all my tools hot pink. Lol
Crissy what will you do for a place during the time you are without your friends accommodation or are you able to stay till the 2nd. Tell us about your apartment, know you will have it like a dollhouse by the 3rd.
Crissy' it's more I never see anything I need or want in the flyer, that tells me I've too much hmmmm.
Got the top of the piece I want to quilt, using up leftover strips I received in the swaps for backing then will check for batting, almost sure I've none..if I do need some it can wait till after my hairdresser appointment tomorrow.
Sailor is having problems breathing this morning..had appointment for groomers but will call and cancel tomorrow appt as she just isn't moving well, pour soul..I must have looked at her a hundred times wondering if I should bring her in..I'll keep an eye, perhaps she'll spruce up later.

We are find and I am sure the college students with all their beer will be fine also......might have a hangover but they will learn. After all, we are not a home we can do as we please.
Surprise of surprises!!! My son just stopped by to do a few errands for me but no lawnmower yet. LOL Guess that will come later.
Hello To All !
Too funny Betty re: your shopping... We meaning HUBS not me.... are probably just as bad about borrowing/shopping from the tool shed of the in laws... I'm always asking... Is that OURS? Or your parents... one of the highlights of my bday is they took back a lawn mower we had been given but not using. From the "Sanford & Son" part of my back yard.
I can NOT believe it's raining again... My plants probably think they are in the tropics. Unfortunately having a problem with aphids... I'm spraying and it's not helping.
Too funny Marion... I remember those days... stock up on beer. We aren't really paying attention to Isaac yet other than I put up a few containers of water in the freezer tonight. Our goal with the girls gone is to try to do like Betty and whittle down the amount of food we are keeping on hand.... we have WAY too much stuff.
I cooked a delicious mac & cheese with hotdogs tonight and got rid of about 4 containers of stuff that would have gone bad or were bad... (the cheese in the kit was expired!)
Crissy how exciting it must be to get your own place !
I'll pop back in a bit (HUGS)
T _ G _ I _ F !!!
Morning, sunshine day outside, gloom and doom inside..
I will be taking Sailor this morning for what may be her last ride with me..I'm broken hearted, vet will help me decide if it's time..
She had a rough night last night, labouring to breath so have decided I do not want my trusted friend to live life fighting for each breath she takes.
Who knows, vet may come up with a magical solution!!
Sending you lots of ((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) Betty! Hope the vet can help her!
We are with you Betty. Sailor is such a big part of you and we hate to see her go but do understand that her quality of life is what is important here. We are holding you close and keeping both you and Sailor in our prayers.....Follow your heart my friend.....
((((Betty & Sailor))))) Sending loving hugs to you both.....you are a good Mom. Yes, you and the vet will make the right decisions.
Hugs for you and Sailor Betty. They are our babies. I still cry for my Blue and it has been near to two yrs. Hi to all and lots of hugs and good wishes. BEV
Hi Bev, miss seeing you on here. So sorry your beautiful gardens took such a hit this year. I think all of ours did in some way.
Debbie
Hi...
Betty & Sailor, sending tight armwraps to you.
Waiving hello to everyone...I have been keepin you all in thoughts and prayers.
I have been in a major cleaning/decluttering bug since huber is complete.
Our house was actually quite overwhelming, I just couldnt stand it any longer...
Started with the foyer and working my way throughout.
Well this morning, for the first time in years, I woke up to a dark, quiet and unmessy house.
It has been quite the 3 weeks since I asked everyone to leave. Alissa just wasn't doing the best..Everytime she was suppose to go "something" would happen and she would just stay, the air was pretty thick around here. Steve told her, she had to leave by yesterday. She didnt have a conversation with him...continued sit doing nothing. I finally said we have to have a serious conversation. As i told her she has had over a month now to figure things out...she saidwith an atitude, well I can't work miricles...I said either can I alissa!
Then, she said well if you want me to go,Ill go,even though I dont have anywhere to go...keepi.g my courage i told her don't forget to give the key back. She packed her belongings and left, she did say see you later. And she did text Jake thanking him for being such a good room mate. IT was I who said she could here all those years ago, so I figured I had to be the one to say, its time to go. I felt bad having to do it, but also, we were enabling.her to not be serious about looking. She was mighty comfortable living here for free...
Ive also been busy preparing jacobs new room...cleaned and primered it.
Dduring any little breaks, I am renovating my little house. I rescued all kinds of trim from the burn pile. I like it! Its coming out better than its original slap it together, lol..it even has windows!!
Breenie back to class andworking.
Jacob back inschool, last year. Already had a football game. They lost.
Julia and Dave having fun decorating their place and working.
Steve busy working on finishing up some major projects.
We are going to the cottage this weekend, have to get the boat out of the water, they are draining our lake to fix the dam...other than that I got a tiny bit of sewing done.
Heres a few picts for you!
Judy, that huber house looks really nice, you all have put a lot of work into it! And I love the mini house too, love all the details! And that frame is so beautiful! Love the colors!
Yes do love the Huber house big time! Just looks so perfect for a family to move right in!
Can I borrow you to clean and declutter? I haven't been able to clean/declutter since last summers incident and the family isn't much help with that "certain stuff" that only you can do. I attempted to vacuum cobwebs off the ceiling and that was just fun! LOL Especially when I caught the curtain valence in the hose!
Betty, how hard it is to choose between following our heart and doing what our mind tells us is right. Hopes that there is a remedy for Sailor, Hugs to you for loving her enough to let her go if necessary.
Judy....you go you little whirlwind....taking back your life is so invigorating....have fun at the cottage. talk soon.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend
Jean
((((Betty))))) ((((Sailor))))....so feeling your troubled heart right now, Betty. Only pet lovers can understand that losing a pet is just as hard as losing a dear loved relative. The vet has always told us the we'll "know" when it's time to put our precious pets down, and so far she's been right. You can't watch them suffer just so you can hold on to them for a little more time.
Babe, the pictures are awesome. The huber house looks fabulous! Glad you're getting your own back to your "own" now, too!
Funeral was good. A celebration of a dear man's life. "In the Garden", "Amazing Grace" and "He lives" were the music. All favorites of Dad's. 44 came back to the house to celebrate the life of Dad and to tell wonderful stories.
Yesterday I was down a little, but two friends came (new friends) and we had lunch together and then they bought hypertufa troughs and mushrooms. One bought two troughs and one set of mushrooms. The other bought one trough and two sets of mushrooms. Anyway, it was a lucrative day for me! ^_^
I'm hoping to make the Michigan trip. Will have to get a few more details first.
Wish we were looking at some rain coming our way...you can keep the hurricane part though.
