(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I'm here too

((((((((Jayegirl)))))))) please take it easy.

I will pray for sure tonight as I need prayers also. My hands are so bad I can't use my thumbs. I have so many projects planned and can't do any of them . My yard looks AWFUL!!!! But then it's been in the triples for over a week now, so it's too hot to work in it.

(((((((SISTAHS)))))))))))

It's almost prayer time and I'm sending special ones tonight for Jaye. Also for any of my sistahs and their families that are in need....I wouldn't worry about the yard just now Cindy. Is there anything that can be done for your hands?

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

More surgery is all :(

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Prayer night - yes, I send my prayers for all in need. For Jaye, Cindy, and all you lovely people and those near and dear to you.................

As for me, well, we have our health.............. just no water! They shut it off at 4:30 last night, and then started excavating today (why did we have to go without water last night?!?! dunno know.......)
We'll be without running water for 4 days. They're supplying 183 homes with 4 water trucks, and 8 porta-potties.
If we need 'em (IF????) they will supply 1 pass per day for the neighbourhood swimming pool so we can have showers. We need to go to the office every day to get a new pass.
I'm picturing some 80+ yo lady with a walker having to go at midnight to a porta-potty a block from home - "I'd better get dressed to go outside to the outhouse" ewwwwwwwww We have quite a few seniors in our park, so that's going to be quite usual I would think.
They are allowing us to use the sewage system (toilets) by filling the tank to flush......... so it would be a good idea to have lots of water in the tub to do this. I hope the seniors have someone to get water for them. The City won't. They will buy bottled water for those who need it, but I would think it would take a lot of bottles to flush a toilet lol I shouldn't laugh but I'm still picturing it!

good morning
off and running
sending healing energy to everyone who need it.
hugs
sue

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

Susan, sure hope they get that water problem fixed soon!

Cindy, so sorry to hear about your hands hurting so bad. My Mom had arthritis really bad, and she had surgery about 2 months before she passed, so I never knew if it helped her or not!

Well, Todd and I will be gone today and part of tomorrow, as I have to go see my back Dr. for a follow up. I get to go fabric shopping, and we will probably eat at Outback Steakhouse for dinner. You all be good!

i m having a plant sale and i hope i get some sales. this is my last one . i will closing my nursery doors for awhile. I can no longer do it all myself . My Dh and i are not agreeing on things and so i m downsizing my jobs and my business.
i will no longer clean houses 20 hrs a week,,, just my own house.
i will no longer run my business of nursery 60 hrs a week ( aprox )
I will not do online sales or coops up to 15 hrs a week .
Kids will have to decide on sports or 4 H but not both. They only get one .
my family is not happy about my decision's but i m at a point of " who the !@#$#$ heck cares "
sorry to vent out ... didn't mean too... it just came out ? LOL
great weather today. so lots to get done before i go on strike LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

I think Sue you should have gone on strike a long time ago!
Best of luck...

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I must agree Sue. There is only one you and WE don't want anything making you too tired to be part of us...

normally i can do most of it with only a few mental break downs... LOL but this year was a tough year and my heart ain't in it.
traded my jalepeno's for some tomato's and corn.
looks like rain ?
Jaye look for a package from Fed Ex in the next couple of days .... hope your feeling better . many many hugs to you Miss J.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No need to apologize for venting Sue, that is what we are here for! You need to do what you need to do, and if that is downsizing some of your jobs, then so be it. The kids will get over it!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Totally agree with that too. Sometimes I think that they think we are invvincible. Just isn't so.... We need to take care of ourselves for nobody else will.......

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

absolutely no need to apologize for venting, Sue - we all do it at one time or another, in one way or another....

I remember going "on strike" when the kids were little - nothing for DH either! They did their own laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc. Then we brought in "the job jar". That worked!

thanks
good morning
today is 3 houses in a row total hrs for today cleaning 6 hrs uuhhg . i don't think i will be continueing cleaning much longer.
a bit of rain today .
got my sale tomorrow lets hope i sell some !

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Vent all you want Sue.....it is vital to our health!!

Jaye, I hope you are doing better......miss you and do worry about you!!

I have been keeping the GDs this week and oh what things we have done.......enjoyed every second. Took them grocery shopping with me yesterday and that was a blast. The youngest had been telling me she thinks she likes apricots. So happened there were some fresh ones at the store so she was allowed to buy 2. Yes, she does indeed like apricots.....but then she wouldn't be my GD if she didn't. The oldest asked for tomatoes.......unbelievable how she likes those.

We have been getting daily rains and it has already clouded up for the day. Need to download pictures of the crop of mushrooms I have in my yard.....correction: fairy houses!!! They have moved to my house according to the girls because Dad cut theirs down. LOL

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

23 pounds and losing.
was in the er the other day, they told me my ct scan in may showed a lesion on the top of my right lung, so they think my pain is from that. now why didn't they tell me in may?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear your losing weight, but hope it is not due to your illness! Dr.'s just don't care if they keep you updated on your status or not! What is caused the lesion on your lung!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Way to go Kathy. Very, very good but I think I might have found them! LOL

Why in the world do the doctors do that? It is so annoying and won't even go into the stress it causes. Good luck.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Ladies, I will be going to Michigan for 2 weeks in October, to babysit for my Dad. My Sister and her hubby need a break, so they are driving to Arizona, while I go and watch Dad. Well, For those that are close, or feel like traveling, I thought it would be nice to meet up in Frankenmuth for a day. I will be there from the 6th, to the 21st. So let me know who is interested, and what dates would be good for you. The only day so far that is not good is the 8th, as that is Canada's Thanksgiving, and Betty can't make it. So all other days are open.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

wow - already thinking of Cdn Thanksgiving....... well, 2 days later is Bob's & my anniversary, so we've been thinking about what to do for it. Hope I'm working by then, so can spend a bit of $$ for it.
My last day is Aug 24th at this job, and I interviewed (with an agency) for another yesterday at lunch. Agency sent my resume to the company, so we'll see what the company has to say.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good luck on the job Susan!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Hope everyone is feeling good today! Coffee is ready, wheat toast, scrambled eggs and bacon and OJ!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Good Morning Ladies,

We are going to a huge b-day party at Swabbie's on the River....suppose to be around 130 people. Going to get wild and crazy, lol.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Feeling better about today. Apparently we get our water back late this afternoon - not for drinking or cooking though - just for washing clothes, dishes, and US!
gawd, I feel "skanky"......... I have a pool pass, so can go there for a shower. Gotta tell ya, going to be in the SHOWER tonight!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Have a food time Cindy, don't party too hard!

Susan, glad to hear you have your water back on. Hope your able to drink and cook with it soon.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

LK - they've turned the water mostly off again.... still leaking. We have medium water pressure, but Bob was able to have a shower, and I had a short tub soak....... Feels so much better. And of course we don't need to use the porta potties.....
Hope they don't cut the water off........ don't think they will, though.
They've provided us with loads of bottled water for drinking and cooking, plus we still have water trucks in the park.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sure hope they get it fixed soon!

Morning everyone!

Sad news this morning....my Dad passed away in his sleep last night. I'm doing okay. So happy to have had these last months with him here.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)
