Barb, so glad to see you back so soon!!!!! Hurray for missing that 'open' surgery.

Pegi, I'll be praying for your SIL great-grandbaby. Kids shouldn't be hurting, especially a baby. Keep us updated with her progress please.

LK, I'm sure that's not one way you'd like to acquire a new ride! Did the factory tested the airbag?

BBL..... .

Thanks Jaye for the new room. glad to see you back.
When we had to make arrangements for Jessica. we were able to pay monthly . I don't know if every funeral home is like that but it is worth asking about a payment plan.
we saw the new Ice Age movie. i hope its the last one cuz its kinda getting old. Kinda like Rocky... i mean really how many Rocky's movies do we need ???

Victoria Harbour, ON

sue I'd like 2 or 3 more AT LEAST! Lol

LOL Betty ! LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Betty, I agree with you! Kel and I are big ICE AGE fans!! We are still kids you know ;)

Sue, the first Ice Age movie, I watched it with my god children at a theater. It was the adults that were rolling in their seats!! I literally fell off my seat! My god kids weren't laughing at the screen, but at me!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Too funny, I meant Rocky movies..like the storyline. Lol

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Only reason I watched the first Rocky was of course because Sylvester Stallone. He really had a sculptured 'behind' Betty. Lolol!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

((((((((JAYEGIRL))))))) missed you!!! And THANKS!!!!!

LOL....I have not watched any of the Ice Age movies ^_^ And I'm still waiting to watch Madagascar 1,2 & 3 Guess I'll go rent the dvd's someday, maybe wait until winter.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I loved watching him when he played with Dolly Parton in that movie where she made a bet with that guy that she could teach him to sing, ahhhhhh what was the name of that movie??? Another one Tango and Cash........now there's a good looking hunk....Kurt Russell he gets better looking as he gets older mmmmmmm

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Glad to have you back Jaye. And thanks for your kind words. I'm feeling wonderful and it won't be long before I'm in full swing again.....

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Do you know that Stallone just buried his 36 yr. old son a few days ago?
Wow.. can't believe that that man's in his 60s?
Think that movie with Dollie was "Rhinestone". I may need to have an all night Stallone movie starting with "Stop, or my mom will shoot!" That was a funny one, Cindy.
No kids here, but we sure have all the Ice Age dvds!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Barb, you in full swing will mean your sewing machine will be humming away soon!!
You typed much more chirpier!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Yup Rhinestone!!! But I wanted to say Rhinestone Cowboy but knew that wasn't it, lol. Yes, love that one too. We have On Demand with Comcast and they just added Streamplex, a lot of old movies and shows must check it out see what I can find good to watch on the days I am lazy....like Sundays I don't do anything but watch NASCAR then....................LMN chickie flicks, lol.

what he buried his son ??? oh that is heart breaking to hear .
LOL i do love the kid movies. I m a big Disney fan myself. Cant get enough of em
big storm right over us... pretty wicked winds too.
see you all tomorrow

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to have you back with us Jaye! Thanks for the new room!
I was told on impact, the sensors to the airbags were sheared off, that is why they did not deploy, and that is why Onstar did not work, no airbags, no Onstar!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Oh poor Sly....... to lose a son.....
LK - that's something that needs to be looked into - to not have OnStar when you have an accident is wrong, and to have the sensors sheared off means they're too near a possibility of the crash zone..... Not right........

I love kid movies - Bob & I had a choice of Ice Age, or Brave. Watched Brave and left Ice Age for another time. We love all those movies - including Happy Feet 2, and Cars 2 lol
Geeze - not sure if I've seen Rhinestone........ Bob says we have, but I don't remember it. Sounds funny lol

Brave was a great movie !
good morning
only cleaning one house today ... waste of time... spend more on fuel then get paid.. my boss is playing this game ..so i m quitting. or did i tell you guys this ?
well i forgot to put out the trash ... uhhhg.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear you boss is playing games with you Sue!
Morning everyone!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sorry Sue, you're not treated fairly. At least you're not working with family, that might means prolonged anguish.

Cindy, another good Stallone movie is Judge Dredd.

Morning LK. I agree with Susan, those shears should be strong enough so nothing would impede the airbags' activation.
The manufacturer need to look into that before lives are lost.

Betty, did you get more than 7 drops yesterday? I sent rain your way, unless the GPS isn't working :D

Thank you for your prayers for Justin. He is doing much better and those serious injuries to his limbs somehow miraculously heal fast enough that he'd be returning to work soon! As a fireman, guess it pays to be body conscious!
His church donated a car, and as far as we know, he'd recoup all losses as the one that hit him has full insurance. As soon as he can get a new vehicle, he'd be regifting that car to the church.

Bad news here. My 'net is acting up again. It keeps going off last night and this morning too.
I presume the provider is still having problems. At least I know it's not the pc.
It's down to 44kbps and for this to run efficiently, another 2 kb is needed.
So.. if you don't see me around, my phone is working!!

Have a fantastic day everyone!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Welcome home Jaye. Been off for a few days helping Kim get ready to go back to work and more doctor's appointments. Just "meaness" coming out in my old age.

Have a date with the GDs to see Ice Age today. Actually a lunch and movie date!!! This will be the last for Kim as she starts back to work on Tuesday and then her college class begins the following week. One more class and she if finished...can you say "relief"?

LK, sorry the car was totaled but glad you are getting a new one. Ross and I experienced that many years ago and I still get jumpy in some situations. Guy ran a red light and tore the front end off of our Mazda. Take care of yourself.!!

Barb, don't over do it just yet.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh MArion, bet that was so scary! I know what you mean about being jumpy!!! Don't work too hard today!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Ugh....been weeding and spreading black mulch...It's 95.2 with a heat index of 125. I'm cooled off now so guess I better try to get the end of that mulch spread around! Jordyn and Luke helped me this morning and Jordyn is coming back tomorrow morning. She had to go to work this afternoon. She's working two jobs now. She starts school on the 25th of Aug. and is taking 15 CHs. She has to take that many to be considered a full time student. Hope she can keep up!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Be careful in that heat Cookie! Glad you have help!

thanks Jaye, well she has family who works with her and well ,,,you know what they say "blood thicker then water "
Marion have fun with the date with the DGD.
LK hope it all works out on the car thing. strange that they didn't go off but glad you know why ?? is this a manufacturer thing ? or will they say .. ?
Jaye sure hope you get the ISP fixed and ready to be online. you are always missed
Cookie my word girl !! get in the house and drink water. I will see you in a few days.
Did my one house today. 2.5 hrs.. i could have made it 3 hrs but she is getting bad alzheimers. she asked me the same question all day ..then she lost the check she wrote... she hadn't written one yet. she kept asking me if she paid me yet ... it is hard to watch her . she is such a nice lady. i sure hope she is not driving anymore ?
rain and thunderstorms here tonight. so we are inside tonight. i m already bored. LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I called several, lawyers, and they will not take the case, because there is not enough bady damage to make it worth thier while. I called GMC, and they will do an investigation, but they said it all depends on the point of impact, speed of impact... and all kinds of excuses! Well, it is. Ow signed over to the insurance company, so I don't have to worry about it. We will be getting a check some, time next week, to go get a new truck.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good Friday everyone! I can't say it's TGGIF, but thank God I am here instead of somewhere with higher temps.

There's nothing I can do about the net, as it's the only provider for this area. Hoping that one day, they'd offer high speed for this backwoods.
Sue, you're such a good woman. You could have robbed her blind. I wonder if that lady's family is aware of her state of mind.

Marion, did you enjoy this Ice Age? I'd love to catch it on the screen, but will wait for Netflix.
Where did your DGDs drag you to, after the show? Mexican?

Cookie, I can't believe Jordyn's in college already! She is a very determined young woman, I'm sure she'd make good decisions.
Tell them both hi from me, please. Don't be in the heat without any protection, like a cold towel wrap around your neck! But it's easier to cool off in your pond!

LK, I can't believe GM with that irresponsible attitude!!!! Until deaths are involved, like Ford, then I'm sure it will try to deter further damages. Guess it's cheaper to take chances than having a full investigation on their quality control? I'm glad you are unharmed.

We're going ethnic for breakfast today.
It's "Pho", a traditional Vietnamese vermicelli rice noodle soup that's served anytime.
Clear broth is beef stock, simmered for hours, then ladled into a bowl over the noodles. Cuts of tender beef steak and beef balls are added.
On the side. a plate of fresh bean sprouts, Thai basil, jalapeno peppers and sprigs of cilantro for your choice of veges to be added to the bowl.
Lots of fresh lemon juice to perk up the soup, but I always add a tbsp. of hoisin sauce and chillis of course.
Enjoy sistahs!

Thanks for breakfast Jaye, but you better be careful of your gall bladder problems!

Yeah, we were disappointed with the response too, but I don't know what else to do? I am just glad we are getting a big settlement for the new vehicle! ^_^

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You're right LK. I have to omit the chillis :( Since I've been taking 2tbsp Flax seed meal a day with my oatmeal, I have less flare ups. Even didn't have to use Protonix! Could be too, the diet is bland!!

True LK. You did report it, and there's nothing else you could do.
I'm sure you're going to get a fact sheet and check which model is more safe for your next one!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yep, we are looking at a Chevy Silverado crew cab pick up truck! More sturdy!!! Still lots of room, with the 4 doors, and 2nd seat.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Great choice LK! Our primary vehicle is one, but of last decade's model!! Still have lots of room for plants in the back!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh yeah, and you don't have to worry about getting it dirty, just hose it out!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

LK, you'd be surprise as how many kids the cab can fit.
Zi, Alex, Dewi and Susu were comfy in the back while Siti sat in that extra seat between us!

Victoria Harbour, ON

LindaKay, had (still have lol at least in my name) a Silverado..omg it is so spacious and you will definately feel safer!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning Betty.
I'm a truck gal. Those Silverados are sturdy.

Victoria Harbour, ON

They are wonderful, just not thrilling to have when you get to the gas pumps, especially nowdays. Only reason we got it was for the 5th wheel!

No wonder I bought the smallest of cars, I can be a roadrunner..just trip mileage..

they tell me, if to be believed that I'll be able to do NewOrleans and back with $248.00, we'll see lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

We have always had chevy or dodge trucks, but two years ago, we decided to try something different and get the SUV! I loved it, and it was very comfy, but this time it is back to a truck!

Last week, over in East Texas somewhere, a guy was going down the highway in a pick up truck, that had 23 illegal immigrants in the truck, and bed of it! Well, he had a bad tire, it blew apart, and there are 14 dead from that accident.
I don't know if it is illegal to ride in the bed of a truck, but it should be! Especially that many people!

http://www.woai.com/news/local/story/Death-toll-reaches-14-in-overloaded-pickup-truck/5YF3nspox0yLw51nDMgrzw.cspx

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh Betty, I have not had a gas saver in a long time, so we are used to spending money for gas!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

It's a Ford F-250 pickup, what to expect!! Bad joke there. But anyway, with that much 'illegal' (pardon the pun) weight, the tires would be stressed! Poor innocent kids.
It's illegal here to ride in the bed, but I've seen that in MB and especially in the country side.
Think it depends on the state. In Louisiana, it's a no-no, except in parades.

Betty, at that price, you could truly afford to drive to California if you wanted to!!
I'm not used to saving gas neither. Once we had a dual tank truck, but gas then was under $2 a gallon. Those were the days..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I have had this song in my head all morning, so thought I would share it with all of you!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyvNO3qq1_U

Shout to the world...

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Afternoon!

Jaye, loved Ice Age!!!! We meet at "Mickey Ds" for a quick lunch before the movies yesterday. Chicken nuggets all around. The girls were in an especially huggy mode yesterday so I am not sure if it was the movie or the good vibes I was getting. LOL
We have a tradition that after movies, we go to Barnes and Nobles so they each get to select a book....has to be a reading book, no crafts, sticker books or games. Abbi chose one of the American Girl series and CB got a 3-D book on Sharks. Then it was back to Mom.

Kim and I finished getting the few items needed to complete her wardrobe to go back to work. She has been searching for some blouses/tops to go with some of her skirts to have more versatility. What has happened to white and cream colors tops? What a challenge!!!!!!

Hopefully today we will get some things finished in the house that we had started.
